    Morning all
Well I’m relieved that weighing this morning I have maintained my week 11 loss of 2.6 kg it was so amazing to go below the 100kg barrier, I couldn’t quite believe it, so now I want to turn that last week 5.7 lb loss into 7 lbs in the next two days, and then move towards 3 st loss, so got to do it now I’ve written it down here.
Frog I’m always doing that with the bed, it’s so tiresome isn’t it, keep up your good work with the reboot, I think I’m fully rebooted now, how about yourself. How did your week go.
Ruthdownunder . 4 kilo go for it girl get it gone.
Yowser I love that cartoon last night hehehe
    Happy Thursday everyone πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“

    Thank you Sunny! πŸ™‚

Weighed this morning – another 2lbs making a total loss of 15lbs.

I’m keeping carbs to around 30g & definitely feel like I’m in ketosis. I was really hungry yesterday – managed to resist cheese on toast & had 25g of cheddar and an early night instead!

Only 2lbs to get into the next stone down.

  • Hi all.
    Mind if I join you?

I have started the 800 BSD today. Initially at least, I am going to be fairly repetitive in what I eat so that I don’t have to think about food too much.

Thanks for all the comments and tips, they’re quite inspiring!

My story is that I started at 87.5 kg and lost over 12 kg with Weight Watchers but struck a weight loss plateau that’s been hard to move past. Read Dr M’s books and watched his programmes. They made sense to me, so I am enthusiastic about doing the eight weeks.

    Well done everyone.

One and a half weeks in and my work pants are more comfortable now, no where near so tight around my waist, there is still a mini muffin top, but at least they don’t cut off my circulation now. ahhhhhh. Wont be long and I might need a belt. Oh joy.

I had some diet coke today too!! …. Came home after aquabics and it was just quick~!!

    What’s bircher??

I do feel like eating but i bought some small vegetable juice cans put put in my gym bag just in case i over exert myself! Had some very nice Chai Tea the Stash brand … very nice, esp. with a bit of xylitol. Spending lots of money on nice and fancy teas and coffees. My sister bought me one of those Keurig coffee makers … and while its very expensive i feel it would be bad to put it away … so i look for sales and such. I still keep my regular small coffee maker handy.

Dr. Mosley is right when he says fast weight loss is very encouraging … i have felt like quiting but the results are just too grand~! It’s nice to fit nicely into clothes … even though some of my clothes will have to be donated to the Diabetes Assoc. clothes drive — they have a Value Village here that gives a good portion of the profits to the Diabetes Assoc. Value Village is like Goodwill or Salvation Army just more oranized, neat and a tad more expensive. I buy retail but i shop there too.

Looking forward to aquabics class with my sister tomorrow!

Good luck with the software release!!

    Are you still feeling hungry?
I never seem to really -if I get cravings, it’s more “I want” rather than “I need”! At the start of BSD I had to admit to myself that after stuffing myself too much for so many years, I had no real concept of what “hungry” actually felt like.

Night. (later than anticipated – I went to go to bed a while ago, then realised I’d stripped the bed earlier this afternoon to wash the bed linen, but had forgotten to remake it – or put the old stuff out to dry)

  • Knocked back as in “no Thank you, I’m not drinking” or knocked back as in drank it? πŸ™‚

If you drank it, was it the wine itself that took you calories and weight up?
Are you sure your scales are fine – weigh yourself several times in quick succession and double check that the result on the scales remain consistent.
If not that, constipation or time of the month?

With that amount of exercise and 800 calories, gaining weight seems improbable!

Not a great week with snacking due to a four day conference which means I live on sugar too much. Managed to get exercise in though so that helps.

  • Ok this is getting annoying. Weight up this morning to 1.9. I walked over 12 k, 18000 steps yesterday, burning more energy than I ate. Was around 800 calories no problem..And the scales are up. This is getting very frustrating. Also survived work drinks yesterday and knocked back the wine. Humph. Hope everyone else is doing better than me!

Claire that is fantastic weight loss. There are many threads about apparent plateaus and we have all had them. Your body is adjusting and you are probably making muscle as well – heavier than fat. Just browse some of the older forums and you will get reassuring news. I have had so many I have lost count, and have not lost anything like as much weight as you have. Don’t lose heart

At work today, around 4pm, I really felt like eating just for the hell of it but staved off the feeling with a bottle of sparkling water. I was at Toastmasters this evening and had a diet coke, although I prefer to avoid pop altogether. Had a half hour walk at lunchtime.

    Black coffee
    No-carb bircher
    Veg frittata
Beetroot falafels – it’s like having four cakes for tea!
    Diet coke

I’m supporting a software release tonight from 2:30am which could make tomorrow a bit difficult. Luckily, I’ll be working from home for the rest of the day.

It’s funny how my mouth feels like it has been underused from not chewing food so much. A weird sensation.

  • greenjanet – thanks for kind words and many congratulations. I am thinking hard and realise I have not been this weight since about 1998, and a kilo in 3 weeks on any other diet would have had me whooping.

Frog you are an inspiration. What a reboot! I think I have been eating too much. Probably all the time, but the hunger thing was a bit hard.

Loopylou, great about the 10%. I am still not there which is one of the things that has annoyed me. I have been a pound off (.4 of a kilo) and then bounced up. But you lovely people will help me get there.

    Krysia, you are another inspiration.

Indy 50 pounds – all I can say is wow

Verano enjoy your holiday. All will be well on your return. As Jan says we know we can do it now. What a change

Yowser thanks for all your wise advice

Lewisfasters – some swear by weighing everything, I don’t. You can get an idea of portions and what it should be. And even if you were 900 a day it would have an impact – in the book MM says 800 was chosen as a good balance between speed of loss and having enough nutrients. So 800 a day might be a touch faster than 900, so if not weighing means some calorie creep each day then that is not end of the world.

If not weighing it all means easier to keep at it then I say don’t weigh, save some of your precious time. Chocolate is ok if high coca content so allow yourself some of that.

I got in and the laptop had decided to update windows – no ‘did I want to?” – two hours to complete.
Took Froglet up to the roof garden – I’ve tried to a couple of times recently, and she’s had a hiss fit about it, so I slipped the harness on when she wasn’t expecting it.
Once up there she loved it and wouldn’t come down again – an hour and a half shuffling round very very slowly while she sniffed every square inch.

In other news I’ve finally heard from the hospital and got my next test booked for next week.

In other OTHER news my dinner was awesome! But i don’t know what to call it. It was kind of like a curried cottage pie with butter be an mash.

Browned the mince with half an onion, a carrot and broccoli. Added some beef stock and curry powder and cooked a while. Cooked a can of butter beans then mashed together with some grated cheese and the other half of the onion and topped the mince with it. Popped it in the oven for 1/2 hour (in my case an hour because I had forgotten to switch it on)

I haven’t calorie counted it, but it was yumalumadingdong.

    So team,

    I have another idea.
    Now who rolled their eyes?
    Who tutted?

I was only going to say, if each of us told one person this week, the joys of this diet and gave them the website address.
Then we all did it again in, say, a months time, we could eliminate diabetes, in one lifetime.

    Anyone up for it?

    Love Lucia

Just home from work and sitting in garden. It’s so lovely and cool and rather surprisingly my tablet can pick up Wi-Fi.

It is so nice to read about everyone’s weight loss today.

Ruthdownunder -1kg off is one more step towards your goal. Well done.

Loopylou – 10% of your body weight gone definitely requires celebrating.

Greenjanet – smashing the 100kg barrier is super news – and I am sure you lost a bit more doing the jiggly dance. It’s a great feeling being fully back on track.

Frog – not surprised that you were stunned by your 3.9 kilos in a week.

Indy – well done for crossing the 50lb down mark and your normal results. No wonder your doctor was thrilled.

Verano – well done for keeping off the bread and potatoes – a small weight gain on holiday is a good result.

We all deserve a gold medal for our efforts.

Well, i am on a search for my long johns. Summer is saying goodbye to me with the chill this morning at 53 degrees. No more sweating to death. No more Seersucker wearing. Clothing gets changed and more conservative clothes now. Soon i will be saying hello to my cardigans again.

Summer is over. the US OPEN is over. And my Jersey Shore adventures is gone. That is what sucks on Labor Day. Beaches closed. Back to school. Everyone gets back to their normal everyday zombie life in the matrix. Gets colder and more indoors. Less jogging at afternoon energy bursts. Eating more pecan pie and drinking hard egg nog. Wow! where did the calories come from? How did I gain 6 pounds in December?????

Well, that is the problems with grey skies and blizzards.

  • Stop kicking yourself in the tuchus (there goes my yiddish again). You lost weight. Get up and start driving your F1 speedster to the finish line. 56 days and I only did 3 or 4 instances of my two friends: Ben and Jerry.

Chunky Monkey makes me Chunky!!!! πŸ™‚

I almost never eat out really. So, it is easy for me in some ways. Thanksgiving in coming and Halloween. OMG! Candy and pecan pie. Americans gain a good 15 pounds Halloween to New Years. Then they make their resolutions and break them January 2nd. Then they join a gym and never go after the first month.

    Crazy! Isn’t it?

Well, you are a 100 miles ahead of everyone else!

    Keep it up!

I have to break my friendship up with Ben and Jerry! πŸ™‚

Went shopping this morning and parked 1/2 mile from the shops, so by the time we had been down the main street and back had notched up a couple of miles. Hacking down bushes this afternoon for an hour and half, loaded it all into the vehicle on to the tip and unloaded it all again! So hopefully have burned a few calories there!!!
Lunch – chicken, bacon and salad, dinner – mushrooms, baked beans and halloumi cheese. Greek yogurt and berries, 4 coffees and loads of water.
Hope you are all doing well. Be nice to have an update on all that have commented on this thread.

I don’t post much but I love reading all the posts.

I’m on day 39 and have lost 18.7lbs in that time (17st 12.6-16st 7.9). I cannot believe it. I never thought I could stick to 800 calories and I never thought I’d have such a high weight loss.

I’m loving 800 calories – I’m having really healthy and tasty meals and not having calories for snacks means I don’t even think about them. At last I feel that I have a really effective route to getting down to a healthy weight. Even my hubby has noticed the loss – he says in my face (so noticeable), my backside and my arms. It’s so nice to fit easily into my clothes, it’s so nice to have choice. I’m really excited about the future and even if my weightloss drops off, I know that by Xmas I’ll be in the 14 stone bracket – I’ve not been there for almost 8 years.

All those fad diets that are constantly promoted and here is Michael Mosley selling a book for just over Β£3 and no cost to use his website and forum. That man needs an award for what he’s given me and others. I know this might sound over emotional but I really feel SO grateful that I stumbled across this approach. I cannot believe I didn’t come across this earlier as I follow all his programmes. But at least I found it eventually.

And finally thanks to everyone who posts – your successes have really spurred me on.

Fortunately small mars bars helped a lot. The website looks great as well and so I’ve signed up.
