Hi Christi1948
great to see the weight shifting again
Heres hoping you have an incredible week 8
See you on the across the 8 week line thread soon. -
I cannot wait to get there!!!!!
-
Hi Madmare
you really seem to have your head around this and the results are starting to show now.
It may be a bit too early yet but soon your sleep will be more restful and you will feel, generally, much better
Well done and keep it up. -
Hi all!
I have posted a few times on different subjects, and on no weight loss too, in the first four weeks I lost 14lb ( not the 16 that I said) got my pounds and ounces mixed up! Then in the next 2 weeks lost a pound, I am happy to announce that I have now lost 19lb, so you do get a period where there is none or very little weight loss, then it just starts to roll off again, I am at the docs next week so am hoping the weight loss continues as it has these last few day, I was getting really down with it all, however you soon bounce back when it starts to fall off again, good luck with your diets everyone, I am on the last leg, start week 8 on Monday Eeek! Then on the 10 th April go on holiday, so I will be back to the diet after the hols, cheers everyone. -
posted by Lostgirl on 2 weeks down and nearly 1 stone lost!
on 24 Mar 2016 at 12:25 in BSD Way of LifeI am an addict, that’s the only way I have been able to start this diet is to recognise that I am a junkie. I have an a addiction to carbs, to sugar and what’s worse to sugar substitutes. I was told some of these substitutes are more addictive than crack cocaine.
I have always been big and have been off an on diets but I eat lots of veg, through multiple medical problems its left me struggling to exercise, but I thought that I ate well, lots of veg and not too much fat, I hardly drank alcohol , I drank Pepsi Max, after all it was sugar free.
29 stone later I had another new medical issue, I’m not diabetic, or even pre diabetic, I have excellent cholesterol levels. A simple accident left me needing to see an ortho consultant. He told me if I don’t change that I live for 10 more years.
10 YEARS
I don’t have children, my life is lonely , so I accepted it, until he asked what I was eating and surely I had to admit that I had a problem.
I explained my diet, and that weight has crept on, who was I kidding
He told me about my sugar and carb addiction
that’s when a lightbulb went off!
I AM AN ADDICT, instead of putting it down to medical issues, which have a big effect , addiction is about to kill me.
Since being on the diet now for nearly 2 weeks I am happy to say that I’m 1 pound off my first stone!!!!!
its not been easy, hate carbonated water and there is no way to get my fizz; so if anyone can help please let me know.
Most people are not as heavy as me on here, and the reason that I am writing this is to let you know it can be done!!
If I can do it, anyone can, there will be times I relapse, that food wins,
but this diet is saving at least one life!
-
And I cycled 5 miles this morning to go and feed the horses rather than driving!
-
Two more pounds gone!!

Oh yes Cherrianne ,actually that was a bit of a rarity, an intelligent spammer.
Most of them are of the brainless link drop and run type.
Isn’t it the middle of the night over there ? -
Wondered why that post was worded so closely to mine Bill. In my ignorance I thought it was the language barrier. Didn’t follow the link though. Good job you’re on the ball. ๐
-
Hi bill1954 – I fry vegetables in oil and I drizzle oil on everything so I think I’m getting enough oil. And I do eat the occasional fatty lamb chop. Don’t know what else to do.
-
Hi Hashimoto – Thanks for the advice. I have lost 1/4″ off my waist line both weeks so maybe something is happening. I’ve never heard of those ketosticks but I’ll get some – what do they tell me? Thanks again I will stick at it – though I’m away this weekend so it’s going to be a bit tricky this weekend. M x

Oh for Gods sake
Middle East spam hitting us again (most spam on the net originates in that area)

NO ONE ON THIS FORUM IS INTERESTED IN YOUR QUACK REMEDIES -
Global celebrations incoming ๐
Anyone noticed the fantastic results starting to show up as more and more folk complete the 8 weeks.
I’ve seen folks stutter but not 1 negative 8 week post yet, that has to say something. -
Cherrieanne it will be great to see you on the 8 weeks and over, it goes so fast doesn’t it? ๐
-
OH WOW WEETA
That is exactly what the folks on the forums want to hear.
That is probably the ultimate proof of what this lifestyle can do for you and this single post is going to inspire so many people.
Thanks so much for posting, and please let us know how your maintainence plan goes. -
Yes that’s great news Bill, I knew it was one of your goals. How good will that feel to be finally free of nasty metformin? Just the thought of it used to upset my tummy so when I found this diet it was definitely an answer to prayer. The threat of needing metformin is enough to keep me on track for the rest of my days. One more week and I’m joining you, Judith and Lynne across the 8 week line ๐

Nic2358
Great results – you are an inspiration
I agree with everyones comments on low fat diets such as WW – I have tried this over the last 6 months and put on 5 ibs! -
Hey Hi Kes
Tell Ray I’m asking after him.
Great to see you both here, I hope you both get where you want to be soon
You should both be past the starting problems now so progress should be a doddle
For those who don’t know, Fresh bananas isn’t a food program, it’s an internet SEO course ๐ -
Thanks Cherrianne, I’ll definitely be singing and cheering! Trying hard to visualise 4 lb down by next weigh in but need to get off my butt and do some exercise. It’s amazing how many reasons I can find for not getting any exercise.
-
Thanks Bill and a big wave as I saw your post in Time Out on UKBF and realised who you were. My other half and partner in crime on the 800 BSD is Tin (of Fresh Bananas). He’s doing well too, 8lbs down in the two weeks but must admit he’s roaming round the house like a bear with a sore head asking if he can just eat this or that. He’s definitely snacking too much. Well done on getting reacquainted with your toes and also for all the words of encouragement it really helps us newbies.
Thanks Hashimoto, yes the inches off the belly is great and everything fits so much better.
-
FoFi enjoy the break, you’ve earned it
Bet you wish you could nip over to the med to do the eating plan for real. -
Oh Bill, fancy having to wash your mouth out!!! I confess I think I would have had to do the same. I can’t believe I was eating that muck for years.
And Wow, cut the meds and blood sugars are stable, way to go, Bill ๐
-
Well done Janet, great result. ๐ half way to your goal.
Kes you’ve not got much to go until you’ve lost your first stone. Then we’ll hear you cheering!!
Whalleyrange, that’s pretty impressive one week into it. Keep posting you’ll definitely inspire others.
Always so good to read everyone’s achievements. -
Fo Fi – I got it wrong! on normal calorie days you won’t be a lightweight like me lol ๐
-
Hooray for Bill… wow… good for you mate…my goal too…!!!
-
Kes, well done, I love the inches of the belly – it’s a lovely feeling, and 10lbs is a lot ๐
-
Whalleyrange 3kg in first week is impressive, well done ๐
-
Fantastic news Janet, there’ll be no stopping you now!!! ๐
-
Really sweet Judith but the thing that really got to me was the other night when I was doing my Greek yoghurt and strawberries, the wife asked me to do some of her yoghurt for her, it was commercial low fat mango flavour stuff.
All I did ws taste the spoon after I had doled it out and the taste was so sickly sweet, I had to wash my mouth out.
Fatty (soon no to be) yeah I did reduce the metformin, it’s early days but so far I’m not really seeing any rise in BS levels, all very encouraging. In fact so much so that, if I can keep these readings within normal levels for a week, I’m going to try going med free. -
On the 19th of January this year I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, on the same day I bought the 8 week blood sugar diet and started dieting the following day.
I had blood tests last week and have got the results this morning, 24th March…I no longer have diabetes I’m in the normal range, my cholesterol is the best its ever been and I am two stone lighter .
Thank you, can’t say anymore, just thank you.
-
Sounds like our house then!
-
Sorry, I won’t be drinking on 800. Today is my last day after seven and half weeks I’m having a 10 day sabbatical on to the Mediterranean way of life. I always intended to do seven and half weeks, we have a family event this weekend. After this 10 day period I will return to Fast800 for 3 or 4 weeks. I will be interested what happens to my waist and weight over the 10 days.
-
Mandy, you say you don’t have dairy
Are you sure you’re getting enough fat into your daily allowance ? 2 weeks is at the extreme end of having no weight loss so maybe Have another look at what you’re eating and see if you can cut a few more carb calories and replace them with fat. -

on 24 Mar 2016 at 10:44 in Fast 800Hello
here’s some of my favourites that allow you to move away from eggs:)
small pear, anchovies, Greek yoghurt
cottage cheese with berries and seeds
sliced ham rolled around strawberries -

TBH Cherrianne, she wouldn’t give a hoot, we have a great relationship and that kind of banter between us, and indeed with the kids too, is commonplace.
Anyhow, I’m forced to sit and listen while they extoll the virtues of the latest TV or movie heart throb so, a little retaliation is allowed ๐ -

Way to go Janet !!!
That first stone mark is magical isn’t it ?
Here’s to the next one
Kes, nice to see you again, you’re doing well too, keep those good figures up
Whalleyrange, that can’t be bad at all for just a week can it ?
I’ve reintroduced myself to my toes over the last couple of weeks, it’s strange to be able to look down and see them rather than needing a mirror.
Won’t be long before you’re making new holes in your belt. -
Well week one is over and I have lost 3kg and 5cm from my belly. I can look down and just about see my toes for the first time in a while. Have really enjoyed reading the positive contributions on the forums which are full of good ideas and encouragement. Feeling very positive about going forward with the 800.
-
Well done Janet, (can’t wait to lose my first stone) and everyone else and thanks for all the encouragement.
I forgot to come back and post my week 2 results so here they are now, another 2lbs down (10lbs total in 2 weeks) and another inch off my belly so 2 inchs total.
-
We won’t tell her if you don’t Bill ๐

I never knew that the Fitnesspal data came from people recording the nutritional figures themselves. Will explain the wild variations and so will need to find another calorie counter app. I’m sure that as I go further I will start to learn what sounds right and wrong. I like the discipline of e calorie restriction as it really motivates me to use all the cals I have as tasty as possible. Thanks for the replies and advise they have been very helpful and encouraging. It’s the end of week one for me and lost 3kg.

Yeah Mick I’ve dreamed of having a body for years
Unfortunately the wife isn’t doing the diet ๐
Ok it’s just a breaking up for the holiday joke ๐ -
Yayyyy go me!!!!!
First stone lost! Just another one to go and for the first time in years I actually believe I can do it!
Thanks to everyone on these forums, it makes such a big difference to be able to share the highs and lows. Especially the highs!

on 24 Mar 2016 at 10:10 in Fast 800Hi I am on day 11 and needs some more ideas for breakfast at 200 cal any suggestions???
I don’t like the drinks as they don’t fill me up I prefer food and have tried all the egg recipes in the book -
FoFi, I think that will be the way. It is a feasible lifestyle and can be adjusted on an ad hoc basis as Mr Mosley has said.
And on the fasting days one can always look forward to tomorrow! One thing for me is the fact that the 800 diet has put me on the way to having the body I’ve dreamed of for years, already I haven’t looked this good since I was 18. Once I’ve got it I’d like to try to keep it.
-
Hi nigel, I live on my own so my foods can be quite repetitive over three days, i.e. if I have made a frittata I have to have it 2 days running.
Sainsbury’s do little pots in trios, if you get a long shelf life that should help. The advantage is you know exactly how many calories in each little pot.
You could also try some of the dips from the book. If I make my own dips I freeze them in portion size containers – it works just fine. You could also separate your shop bought hummus into individual portions and freeze it so you can ring the dietary changes a bit!
As your breakfasts and dinners are varied I really wouldn’t worry ๐ -

on 24 Mar 2016 at 10:00 in Fast 800I am now on day 11 and the light headed feeling is going away drink lots of water and herbal teas
Your body will adjust soon keep going -
Mandy, get the tape measure out it may tell you more than the scales. My weight has been consistently the same this week ( increased my calories) but the ketostix show I am still fat burning and my waist has shrunk again. Don’t despair, check what you eat, check with your tape measure and if you haven’t bought some ketosticks I would recommend you get some as they will tell you if you are fat burning which will reassure you. I got mine from Amazon for just under ยฃ5 and they were P and P free.
