OMG Janey that’s cringeworthy, hahaha, your poor sister! 🙂
Tokyo! You are absolutely incorrigible! Next time I go to a concert, I’m paying for you to come too! That’s nice of him, he comes across like a lovely genuine bloke, doesn’t he? We can’t listen to his music any more though, we were put on hold once, over a course of several days, several times, with a company with the most appalling customer service in the world, ever. Sometimes up to an hour on hold. And all they had on loop was the same 5 Buble songs. Over, and over and over. We were fans. We can’t listen to him any more.
Sports day over, and… the boobage is burned. I repeat. The boobage is burned…
I have another one, one of the most mortifying things I’ve ever done, but the funniest to everyone else that I’ve ever told. I don’t think I can post it in case it offends someone. It wasn’t done with offence in mind though. But I still managed it…

on 18 Jul 2016 at 15:06 in BSD Med Style Low CarbHi everyone
So glad found out about this way of changing my lifestyle as on reading the book and some of the threads here it so makes such sense!I am diagnosed type 2 on metformin 2000mg plus added insulin as recently diagnosed with other condition needing huge doses of prednisalone at 50mg per day
Been trying low carb diet but really want to attempt the Med way of eating
Bit stumped at minute re calories, or carbs so wondered if anyone has got a daily plan / menus to browse as am much better at following something in black n white like that. I suppose I could follow the daily plans in the book, adding more to it as needed.
I have been making these breakfast muffins using ground almonds which are delicious and ground almond cakes as snacks but can see am probably going over an allowance to start losing this visceral fat I need to lose!
Any ideas tips or pointers greatfully received
Thanks

on 18 Jul 2016 at 14:56 in Starting the BSDThanks Bill I did have paracetamol in the end and another pint of water. I have been low carbing all week so I thought I was past the carb flu stage. Oh well. I had another portion of yoghurt and raspberries as I was still hungry but I have accounted for it.
DHARAKO I Google all of my meal choices and tot it up. Its taking a while but I hope to build a selection of go to recipes.
This evening I am making ricotta quiches with chorizo and cheese. They are yummy and about 120 cals each. They will be perfect for picnics and quick breakfasts. Sadly I don’t like eggs. I have had a text from the school and need to make more blasted fairy cakes, my daughter was going to help but her main input was licking the spoon!
-
Legendary, Tokyo! 👍🏼
-
Just take paracetamol for the headaches, they are a normal effect of beginning low carbing and just last a couple of days or so.
At least it shows you are doing things right 🙂
dharako I usually have a couple of tbsp full of yoghurt with a handful of berries. -

we went for a macdonalds !!!! when we stop laughing !!!! -
I have had the 8 day BSD diet book for several weeks and read it several times but could not get motivated to start. Yesterday I went to a friend’s daughters wedding. I struggled to find something to wear and when I did find something I looked bloated in it – honestly this is not self deprecating. I have a photo to prove it. I got the book out this morning and decide to just go for it.I am 60+ years old, 5 ft 4 inches and weigh 204 pounds. I have a desk job so am quite inactive during the day. I do not think I am pre diabetic but I just want to loose weight and loose it fast to stay motivated. Any help from any of you would be delightfully welcome.
This morning I had yogurt and blueberries. I was not sure how much yogurt I could have or how many berries. Where would I find this type of information? -

My pedometer says i am up to 7000 steps already but i dont believe it. Its boiling here and i live in a very hilly part of the country. We went shopping for supplies and then i popped them in my back pack, so i have def had a good workout.
Lunch was a hurried affair, i had shop bought hummus with 3 processed ham slices and spinach leaves – i was supposed to have the hummus on cucumber but it had gone all soft. Todays totals so far are 362 cals and 13.2g carbs. Just need to decide what to have for dinner. I am thinking grilled chicken breast with garlic butter, broccoli and spinach. My tummy is rumbling and i have a banging headache.

on 18 Jul 2016 at 13:00 in Welcome to the BSDGreat idea for a thread!
– Halloumi! Despite eating a 98% vegetarian diet for many years I had somehow never eaten this delicious tasty stuff before! I have it grilled with salad or veg for tea.
– Pomegranate seeds. I buy the pre-packed ones from local supermarket (lazy!) and they improve any salad. Especially good with cauliflower couscous/ rice, see below.
– CAULIFLOWER! I had not eaten one for years except encased in cheesey sauce but now enjoy it a few times a week, roasted with almonds or blitzed into “couscous” and mixed with chopped up grilled peppers and courgettes, pomegranate seeds, pine nuts, olives, sun dried tomatoes – delish!
– Smoothies. Have purchased and fallen in love with a nutribullet. Now have a smoothie (spinach, almond milk, blueberries, flax seeds and any other assorted fruit or veg to hand) every morning before work. Fills me up and also puts me in right frame of mind for the day, feeling like a healthy person who deserves to eat well before I even leave the house.

on 18 Jul 2016 at 12:53 in Starting the BSDI downloaded this book whilst on holiday. I got back last Tue and jumped on the scales which came in at 126 kg so sort of started the following day but ended up having Chinese (my will power). On Thu morning weighed myself and I was 124 kg so maybe the flight I had retained water. Stuck to it Thu with about 800 calories. Friday morning had lost another 1.2 kg and went over at about 900 calaories, Sat morning weighed 122.4, Sat had about 600 calories and Sun morning was down to 121.7 kg. Yesterday was difficult has had a friend from Slovenia coming for a meal and I overate. This morning the scales weighed me in at 124 kg. Sticking to it now – I am off from University till the beginning of October and intend to crack this Diabetes. My blood sugars have dropped from 10.3 to 7.3 at the end of last week. Not tested today but will do again in the morning.

Actually you’ll like this one, although it was my sister’s experience not mine! She is an avid gardener (like you Tokyo?!) and was really excited that celeb gardener Dermot Gavin was attending the Chelsea Flower Show when she was there. On the big day she was desperately looking out for him, and finally spotted him walking towards her. She went all pink and flirty and sashayed towards him, saying hello as he stared at her intently as they passed. Only afterwards did she realise her blouse had popped undone and her bra clad breasts were in full glory!! Muahahahahahaha, makes my day even now!!! 😀
-
I wish I had a ‘LIKE’ button for that one!!
-
It’s random and it involves a celeb, which wasn’t a necessity, so…yes 🙂
When I lived in Manchester I once nearly got mowed down by Kevin Kennedy. I was crossing ‘his’ road and I stepped out in front of him, was my fault. He graciously waved me over. I looked, waved sheepishly to acknowledge/apologise, then did a double take to see Curly Watts sat there. I exclaimed ‘Curly!’ and pointed at him. Like a starstruck tool. He rolled his eyes, still waiting for me to cross. Haha.
-
The urge to punch him in the throat is still with me, 29 years later, I won’t lie. Every time I see him on telly… What can I say, I know how to bear a grudge! Lol. He’s probably lovely but…
Oh Tokyo, that’s bloody priceless!
Right, off for a shower now, I smell like a family of old meerkats after my ironing and treadmill time! Just had worlds quickest omelette, chicken tikka salad for tea I think 🙂
See you all later, sports day beckons!

Hahaha, both excellent stories. Derren deserved that – he takes himself waaaaay to intensely!
I did once stand behind Robbie Coltrane in a shop queue when he was buying a tie once.. does that count?
-
that is a brillant story i shall never look at him the same again !!! nasty little boy !!!
no mr derren brown not amused particularly when i stood up and did tommy cooper ” just like that ” hand movements and all !!!! -
BWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You didn’t! I bet he wasn’t, he is a bit deadpan isn’t he?
Well, the Aled Jones thing. He was in Form 6. I was in Form 1. We shared a block in the school and at lunch time, two 6th Formers would be posted on the doors to keep people out. But I needed a wee. He wouldn’t let me in. A… tussle ensued, which ended in him pushing me down the flight of concrete steps. I twisted my ankle. Grassed him up to head of 6th. Who then took him into office and gave him a right dressing down, in front of me. I did that thing that only 11 year olds can do. Looking morose, in pain and teary-eyed while the head looked at me, and then when she turned back to continue roasting Jones, I was wearing a look of mirth and glee, grinning at him and nodding.
One of the highlights of my life, I won’t lie 😀

so done dusted and off we go again going to have my weigh in on friday instead of thurs gives me extra day to make a difference and if scales dint move thats ok
although just cut grass took me an hour and the sweat well it looked like i had dine an aerobic session with….. ( fill in your blank!!) so hopefully that will help
greek chicken with homemade tzatziki was excellant on fri making mousakka and also cauliflower and paneer curry for a couple of nights tea this week with the infamous lucky wraps !!!
my other half says there are some things that just need sugar in eg brownies cakes and hence why my main meals are a super success and puddings not so although breaking news half found ice cream recipes !!!!!!!!!!
so back on track my little amigos !! -
Alex Jones?! Now I’m intrigued!!
Now.. Random fact about me. You already know I’m a part time naturist.. What else?! 😆

Back after hour and three quarters of ironing! Still loads to do but I’m going to do half an hour on treadmill and hubby is taking over ironing, then shower then lunch then sports day. Roasting here! Sheeeeeeesh! 8000 might be more do-able, and anything extra is a bonus then!
We did all struggle on Friday, I think it must have definitely been a planetary thing. I’m a firm believer in that. I’ve lost enough electronics to Mercury Retrogrades for it to be coincidence 😉
Most strict for now 😉
Yes, there’s more of us now, we have snowballed! I don’t know what a triumvirate is, but I’m guessing it’s three of something.
Right, how about we get off diet topic to keep Tokyo’s mind off it. I want a random fact off everyone about themselves, the randomer the better. I’ll start.
I once got Aled ‘Walking in the Air’ Jones into trouble.

Hi oldlady
Yes, it does sound as if you’ll need more organisation – but hopefully by cutting out the refined carbs you will start feeling less hungry and able to make better decisions in all these hotel meals.
I agree that a good breakfast – eggs, bacon, ham, smoked salmon with mushrooms, tomatoes – is an excellent start so that lunch will be easier.
Then I would go for a piece of protein with salad/veg for dinner. I’ve been on holiday this week, and it’s not too bad to stick to that in a hotel/restaurant type setting. Could you have two starters at any point? I’ve done that this week, with smoked salmon followed by cheese salad with nuts, or cold meats followed by fish? Have the starter size for both, so you get some nice variation of flavours in relatively small portions.
Lunchtime a carb free ploughmans? Eat the cheese/ham and salad, but tell them no bread?
I think also that once you get used to simply requesting ‘no potatoes, more salad/veg’ it will be surprisingly easy. I’ve found people really accommodating. And you CAN get round things – I had a pub dinner during my holiday and with fairly limited choice I had scampi (I dissected them to get out the scampi from the breadcrumbs) with extra salad (delicious) and no chips.
Good luck with it! 🙂

on 18 Jul 2016 at 11:08 in Welcome to the BSDHello all
I thought it might be nice to have a thread about foods which are amazingly delicious but we never would have thought so before starting this way of eating…..I know that I have had some fantastic highly enjoyable meals which I would never have thought of before.
My top faves are
– baby spinach (raw), seasoned well, as a substitute for breakfast toast – under poached, scrambled, fried eggs – with perhaps some halloumi, mushrooms, baby plum tomatoes. And Smoked salmon if you like 🙂
– chilli peppers – absolutely hooked on veg stir fry with some chilli peppers
– courgette – what a revelation! – I like mine cut into chunks and then seared in a pan with very little fat so they go brown round the edges. Delicious!!!
– St Agur blue cheese – 20g to eat with a spoon, just like a portion of cheesecake. MmmAnyone else?
-
ha ha it’s a triumvirate + extras – don’t forget all the rest of us!
It was a full moon – maybe that’s why every thing more extreme. Not only warewolves that are affected you know… 🙂

on 18 Jul 2016 at 10:58 in Fast 800Hello all
Back from a week’s holiday in Northumberland with the family – just 1 lb up, back to 9st 2 lb this morning. It WAS more difficult eating out and also cooking for six, but I was generally happy making sandwiches for everyone for walks whilst eating cheese/smoked salmon wrapped round chicory for myself. Tasted wonderful at the top of a big hill, as most food does!!
The end of the week went a bit pear shaped as veg chilli (with lentils) – requested by the family – was a bit carb heavy for me, and also I ate up some of our fruit (apples/tangerines) before coming home and that seems to have thrown me out of ketosis completely for several days, which is interesting. Also had an Indian meal (no rice or breads) on our last evening. Maybe not quite enough liquids either?
So – plus points
– looking at myself in unfamiliar mirrors showed me just how much my shape had changed. More noticeable than at home.
– daughter incredulous at further loss since she last saw me at the end of June. She said I was ‘tiny’ 🙂
– she took photo of me on Saturday which was the only photo I’ve ever had which makes me look thinner than I feel. It has had a number of ‘likes’ on FB 🙂
– complete wardrobe sort out yesterday (in the heat!!) confirmed that all smallest clothes now fit. Have thrown out larger ones, off to recycle them today– and I suppose the amazing thing is that I can scarcely believe how quickly it has all happened, and that the change has been so easy. Almost doesn’t feel like me – that I will wake up tomorrow and be back to ‘not fat, but larger than I’d like’, and it’s all been a dream. Anyone else feel that way?
So next steps are to
– get that further couple of pounds off to my initial 9 stone target
– get a handle on exactly how many carb gms per day keeps me in ketosis and burning fat
– start planning phase 2 maintenance, which I had guessed would be keeping to no refined carbs, upping calories a bit, keeping overall carbs low but increasing calories for 5 days and then lower calories for 2. Need to get the overall carb content in grams sorted for that.Anyone still following this – please do keep on keeping on – IT WILL WORK!!
🙂

Day 1 of the next chapter….after losing almost 3 stone so far and a lot of inches from my waist (and feeling better than I have in years)
the first 8 weeks ended yesterday.I am keen to continue working, remodelling and improving my health and fitness and ultimately achieving the goal of getting into the “normal” range of BMI.
Using the NHS website online BMI tool I score 29 .
(I went to use the stand on machines at four weekly intervals in my nearest Boots but unfortunately it decided I was different heights each time . Had bare feet both times, it was around the same time of day and no other obvious reason for the shrinkage?? I will still go in another four weeks just to keep a record but not take the results very seriously.)
We went to a social event yesterday where there was a lovely spread that everyone had each made something and brought it to share. It looked really colourful and fresh and because it was for a special person everyone had made a huge effort….what I didn’t realise was the organisers arranged that it had to be finger foods so no bowls of salads or anything remotely allowable to “us”….so to stave off fainting had the smallest piece of white stuff I could find and then had soup when we got home. It was a lovely event , very moving and everyone enjoyed it so the food really wasn’t the most important part of the celebrations anyhow……I think a few months ago I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of that. -
Here I am! I signed off early last night so it’s just taken me an AGE to catch up with goings on! Glad you’re back Brenda – we need you in our Triumvirate (there you go – word for the day – make sure you all use it at least once before midnight!). I totally get the Epic Fail Friday demoralisation Tokyo – bizarrely I think all three of us struggled that day.. weird huh? I was very close to tucking into some sugary treat or having a beer. I went to bed in a shocking mood! Yesterday’s kids party also was difficult – it always is when I am entertaining outside the dysfunctional family unit 🙁 As confessed yesterday, I did have ‘n’ glasses of white wine (unheard of for me but the yummy mummies demand it), and I also gave in to my ongoing craving of having a BBQ sausage in a BREAD ROLL (gasps of horror all round please). The slippers of despair were momentarily on (before someone threw a water bomb at my head) and then I figured.. you know what? One roll isn’t going to undo 11 weeks of work. I’m still losing weight and I I’m not bingeing on any other carbs. So it’s one day off. Deal with it BSD, I’m back on the wagon again Monday! Same for holidays Tokyo. You’re not going to undo all the good stuff in a few days, and in all honesty you KNOW you don’t feel the same way about food as you used to. OK, chip shop chips always smell lovely, and an ice cream on a hot summer’s day is great.. but you won’t be chowing through it like the old days. Lucky has been brutally honest about her past failings and she is the most strict of all of us now!
-
Ahhh that’s lovely Lesley – good on you and congratulations on the wedding!!
Great stuff on the loss BigP and Alan, massive welcome back on the wagon – this will be a good new week.
Week 9 and another 1.1kg gone (.1 is important:-)) – yaaaaaaayyyyy 🙂 The healthy weight bracket for my height is getting nearer every day 🙂 Need to still keep an eye on the dark chocolate creaping up and complacent “ah have another xxxx you’re doing well” mentality but other than that the food is delicious, am eating way more veg – this is the way forward!
Go on the BSD-ers 🙂
-
Of course! 🙂 In fact any steps are good – maybe 10,000 is a bit much for a Monday – I’m thinking I will try make it to 8000, that’s probably bettter to do it in bitesizes (ha ha ha hollow groan) That’s more than my usual Monday. Roasting here again! Ironing is practically weights!! :-))))
Had such a nice breakfast of eggs and mushrooms and bit of feta – YUM!

on 18 Jul 2016 at 09:52 in Starting the BSDI bow before you, blessedenough…..48 fairy cakes and you didn’t lick your fingers! Stick with it – you’ll blitz this. As the weeks go by you don’t even feel like putting the sugary/floury simple carbs in your body.
-
You’ll do your 8 weeks, and have a nice break for your holiday. I know I said you might not go OTT on holiday, but I didn’t realise you were feeling SO grrrrrrrrrrr about all those things, Tokyo. So I think you should eat whatever the hell you want while away. You might surprise yourself. Your body might surprise you! You never know until you’re in that situation, you envisaged yourself really pigging out – you might not physically be able to – not to the level you might have done once! For me now, if I think about cheating, no, we won’t call it cheating. Treating – with a bar of chocolate, for example, I’m talking A bar of chocolate. Single. Normal size. A packet of crisps is A packet of crisps. Pizza is A slice of pizza to savour. Me in the past, it would have been a 200g slab of chocolate. Or a family size bag of sweets. Or a ‘sharing’ bag of crisps. Or a full 12 inch deep pan pizza. I know that a kebab takeaway can mean plenty of meat and salad and I don’t have to eat the bread. If it’s an Indian, I can forego the rice and naan. Have poppadoms instead (yay lentil flour!). So I know there’s a little bit of a shift in me, that if I do snap and go off track, the damage is going to be much, much less than it would have been before. And that in itself, is more progress than I’ve had in years, if not decades.
I’m feeling a bit cack this week, shocking back pain and it’s ‘Ladies Week’ and the scales are doing all manner of rollercoasting. Down 0.3 from Saturday, up 0.2 today. Hubby has lost a kilo since Saturday… git… but I’m determined to see a loss by this weekend. I’d love to get my 2 stone by Saturday. The sun is shining which is incentive in itself to put good things into my body. I have a North Wales/South Wales derby at the Rugby so that should be an amazing day out. Be nice to finally get into that rugby shirt like all the other supporters manage to!
Yes lovely, I get you. Completely.
Now. Where’s Janey to inject some random filth into the day. Or, at a push, Timmy. Speedo update, Timmy?
Eps – I am going to be hard pushed to get my 10,000 today, but I will try my hardest. I am struggling moving today. There may be many hours of ironing involved, as I need to clear the pile before school closes (tomorrow :-O) and it’s currently about 3 inches smaller than me. Add to that four mini people, sometimes two clean outfits daily where water fights and playing out are concerned, and if I let it slip any further, I’m in trouble! Do I get ‘step credit’ for ironing? Am toning upper body, after all 😉
-
Thanks Linda. Maybe I’ll try an egg breakfast as I normally have porridge, have done for years but if I can force myself to like poached egg and bacon or ham that would probably be better. I can live without desserts but lunches tend to be cafés or pubs (I do escorted tours for small groups) and dinners are set menus normally with no choice plus the evening meal doesn’t normally start serving till 8pm by which time I’m tired and hungry.
It’s a lovely way to earn a living but a nightmare for the waistline. Hoping to use these 8 weeks to change my eating habits and lose a decent amount of weight. Will post on here next week and say how much I’ve lost. I’ll have eggs for breakfast tomorrow! thanks for advice especially asking for more veg instead of potato, hadn’t thought of that one.

I am about 2 pints of water down. Non sleeping toddler is going to bed soon and I might have a lie down as feeling tired. When he is up we are going for a walk in the sunshine, I might even get my legs out!
Told my husband about this and he just rolled his eyes but he is used to me starting diets on Mondays and reverting to type by tuesday! He did laugh when I said no wine for 8 weeks – need to show him now.
I made and iced 48 dairy cakes yesterday and didn’t even lick my fingers.

How lovely Lesley, brilliant news! You must be so proud of all you have achieved!
Enjoy your honeymoon (!) and good luck for your future together. -
Hi oldlady,
Welcome!
Can you do omelettes for breakfast or bacon and eggs? Salads with dressing on the side for lunch? Steak/chicken/fish + veges for main?
I don’t think it’s socially unacceptable to refuse dessert, so I don’t think that would be a problem. My OH is away this week and that’s what he’s going to try and have.
If you’re in restaurants, ask for no potato/rice etc and request more veges or a side salad, I’ve never been turned down.
Good luck, let us know how you actually go when you get there.
Cheers

That’s the spirit! I dare say you will have gone over your first goal by the 5th of August, that’s 18 days away!
Yes, I think we all need to accept that most, if not all of our concoctions – when successful, and that’s going to be less often than we’d hope – are going to be pale comparisons of the real thing. We’ll get lucky with a few things, like the chickpea wraps, I had a really nice success yesterday with banana muffins, but we have to accept that some things can’t be replicated no matter what vegetable we try to mash or bake or fry. I know a time will come – and it’s probably going to come in the school holidays – that I will feel so tempted by something – I’ve got 4 kids birthdays in the space of exactly 2 months, for one! That’s four cakes and four individual takeaways of choice as their ‘treat’ tea. I’m going camping for 5 – 7 days. Friends will descend (because I’ve got the massive garden). I don’t know that I can trust myself yet to ‘just this once and then back on it’. I really, really miss pizza. And no amount of vegetable base or eggy-creamy-coconut-floury base will ever compare, I don’t care what anyone says. But I still can’t bring myself to eat even just a thin, thin slice. Not yet, anyway.
-
So I am back after the most amazing holiday with a very light tan ( Scottish and pale) , thousands of mosquito bites and 8 additional pounds apparently!! How is that even possible? Ate healthily, drank moderately and exercised quite a bit despite the searing heat. Hey ho I knew I’d put a bit back on but 8 pounds?? So back to normal service today and see if I can shake this off ASAP!!! Have a good day everyone !

my goals havent changed my first one was loose 6.5kg and i am 1kg off that amy next is loose 5 kg !!! i was hoping to get first goal done by 5 august as going away shortly after for a few days !!
like you i have spent many years too many years on blinking diets usually low fat !!! losing putting it back on !!!! so yes i would like to do it once and for all i just want to do it and have a bloody good laugh if that makes sense
i cant pretend i would rather have a chickpea ( lucky) wrap as lovely as there are instead of bread or chips !!! cos sometimes i would murder my cat for a bag of chips still !! but like i say thats just me !!!
i am carrying on i would no i want to get to my second goal for my health so no choice but it dosent mean i cant have a screaming kicking and crying on the floor tantrum because i want all the things i cant have and i will stand hanging if i am the only one that feels like that !!!
but like i say i shall continue and try and put all thoughts of forbidden food out of my head for a while !!!!!!!!! -
I was saying to my husband last night in bed, that without the support of this forum, I don’t think I would have stuck to the BSD. Even with the great results. It wouldn’t have been enough for me. I told him that I felt… accountable now, I don’t know if that’s the right word necessarily, because I’m not accountable to anyone who participates in this thread of madness any more than you’re accountable to me. But for some people, it is that ‘accountability’ that keeps you going. I’m sure most people have been to a slimming group. You’ve had a crap week, and you have one of two choices. You face the music, or you don’t show up for class that week. With the intention of reeeeeeeeallllly sticking to it that week. You’ll just have one more day off then you’ll start. And, if you’re anything like me, a month will pass and you still haven’t been to weigh and everything goes pear shaped. I actually paid WW for 6 months without going to a class! I thought if I cancelled it, I wouldn’t go back! I would miss this interaction too much to give up on the diet. I know I could lie, I could go back to my old ways and come on and spout about chickpea bakes while eating a baguette but I’m not a liar and I’d feel bad. I hope my weightloss has inspired or will one day inspire some in the way that I have been inspired by those who started before me. But I personally need to feel accountable to someone, even if it is just my peers and not a traditional ‘leader’, even if it is just in my own head, or I start slipping. I’ve even exercised this last couple of days because I’ve been set a target by Eps!
We’re all different, and we’ll all have our little tricks and tips to make this work for us 🙂

Hi John. I feel your pain too, it’s an all too familiar scenario for me as well! I can lose weight reasonably easily; I’m quite good at sticking to rules and I like the success of losing weight. But when I get there …… suddenly there is no new incentive. No one saying ‘ ooooh haven’t you lost weight, aren’t you good’. And slowly, slowly it creeps back on again.
But not this time. I’m determined not to let it happen. I’ve been away with the family for a few days and eaten rather a lot, but avoided the carbs. And today I’m back on the 800 cals (OK, it’s only 8:15 but that’s the plan). I’ve almost missed the discipline of it. As the others say, try not to have the bad stuff in the house, concentrate on those foods you enjoyed, keep the fluids up and remember we are rooting for you!Good luck. You can do it.

Hi reversing_prediabetes
Well done on the 5lbs, that’s a great start, you’re on your way!
I forgot to mention the ‘carb flu’ or withdrawals that you might get – headaches, aches & pains etc. this will go, just drinks more water and fight the urge to give in as it won’t last long and when you’re on the other side, so to speak, the cravings will virtually be gone.
Have a great Monday😊
