Hi SunnyB,
I am having a quieter day, if that is possible with three grandchildren around me, they are off school today! I have been and had my hair cut while hubby took the girls to the park then a drive thru McDonald’s! I had a cheese omelet for lunch, no gripping pains after, which is good, for evening meal we are having a simple salad, I am hoping it will be ok too!
Thank you for thinking of me! It’s appreciated.
I hope you are doing well and losing too? Good luck anyway.
Christine

1. Making plans to have our youngest grand daughter to stay.
2. Have found a gift for some friends, which I have some how mislaid in the house. Had put it somewhere safe!
3. Have almost caught up with post holiday wash at last. -
Congrats on the jeans Tokyo. The mental image made me giggle! Don’t step on a rake or I will become hysterical at garden based silliness!
Cookies… Mmmm not bad! Slightly gritty (seems to be the almond flour) but otherwise pretty good. My boy is home in an hour so I shall proffer them as an after school treat.. I did have a somewhat comedic moment when the mixer became entirely clogged up with the mixture and I had to pick it all out with my fingers. Not wasting it! Money wise, definitely cheaper than the billionaire brownies, but then I’m using the ingredients I ready bought for them. Coconut oil is definitely a winner! Oh and I gained 2 new Twatter followers thanks to the pic I tagged!
Ah, exes and other halves. You should see my set up. It’s the Swiss Dysfunctional Family Robinson. My son’s father and I get on well and he also gets on with my OH so most weekends I socialise with my 2 ‘husbands’ and 4 associated kids (only one of which is actually mine!). It shouldn’t work but it does ☺️ Weirder still, the ex is currently renting my OH house off him after he moved in with me. Keeping up!?!!….

Hi SusSue1951,
When I first started, I found out from other bsd members that Fage full fat total Greek yogurt was the best one to get, I have used that ever since, it is lovely and creamy, see if you can get it next time you do a shop, it’s in a big rounder tub, rather than a tall thin tub! Make sure you get the total not the 0% one.

Hi cherrianne,
I love some of your comments and would love to be able to follow them all, however, I live with two other people, both of which like their bread, rice and chips, not to mention crisps, chocolate, cream cakes etc, you get where I’m coming from?
I am normally quite strong in resisting such delights! However, and ironically, when I am under the weather I find it difficult! I have succumbed to the odd chip, and a square of chocolate here and there!
At the moment I am having to deal with a virus and an upset tummy, it’s like when I have had a diverticular attack in the past! The things I normally eat when I have an attack is very bland food rice and chicken, toast, no dairy! So I am having to think outside the box, I have only just taken control of how I feel and am trying to do what I need to get back to full health and back on target.
I also try to keep my carbs as low a possible, hit and miss at the moment I’m afraid! I will read your post again and try and put some of it into action, thank you for the ideas.

So, I put my washing out, and it’s blowing hard, and it’s sunny, warm, not a grey cloud in site. Blue sky. I come in, I crank my tunes up while I potter in the kitchen. And I look out of the window, and it’s raining! Bring everything in… beautiful again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. It’s staying in the tumble dryer. I’ll be like an idiot in and out all afternoon otherwise. The cookies look good! I hope they pass the taste test with the kids 🙂
Yayyyy well done Tokyo! You’ll have to demote a ‘new’ old pair of jeans soon for gardening. Or wear braces. I’m awaiting the fun and games which is my ex husband and my husband in the same room for an hour or so while ex picks up eldest and has a cuppa. The p***ing contests these two have, have to be seen to be believed. Whatever one has done, or knows someone who has done, the other has done it better, or knows someone who has done it better, and has not only the T Shirt, but the keyring, mug and the Directors Cut DVD. It was amusing for the first year. Seventeen years later… I’m fed up of warning hubby, I think he does it to wind me up now.

Struggling a bit today, having gained 0.8lb yesterday. Trying not to let it phase me, as I was in ketosis this morning and am sticking to the regime today. I’m hoping it was a blip and that by the end of may week (Sunday) I will see an overall positive result. Still, bit difficult be really positive today, even though I know it will come right eventually.
-
Hi HappyLife,
Most of us went through that. You’ve got to congratulate yourself, you lost over 2 stones in 8 weeks….. well done. -
Hi ay caramba,
Well done, 2lb? Wow where will you go from there? And, And, you have reached that magic number 9!I can only dream of 9 I have a way to go yet, not sure for my height what is my ideal weight, I am looking at 11 something, although I am doing my weight loss in increments, so my next target is to see the magic number which starts with 11!
Well done you, keep us posted on that last two pounds.

i have returned from gardening and only had to jump up and down once to get gardening jeans on !!!! normally i lay on the floor then jump up and down at least three times squeezing into them is like a volcano erupting !!!!!
i am awaiting cookie news how much will they have cost ?? -
Cookies are made! They have a slightly gritty texture but for ‘healthy’ versions they are pretty good! Let’s see what the kids think…
My washing is determinedly out. It’s July therefore it is summer and 24 degrees.. And no one will persuade me otherwise.

Thank Switzerland, OH is work in progress. This week I have had the necessity to go and buy new underwear. Went to M&S bought size 14 panties instead of 18-20 and a pretty new bra. At the till I was told as I had spent just over £35 I could choose a pair of flip flops for free. They were rather bright colours and not for me then I spotted just the pair for me and in my size. OK they are a rather boring grey but the straps are sparkly. They made me feel happy. I know rather simple of me but without BSD and the weight loss I wouldn’t have a sparkly pair of flip flops for our holiday. In September we plan to go to northern Portugal. At this rate with the BSD I will need a whole new wardrobe.

Week 10 day 1
Only lost .8 lbs in week 9 of BSD800 and no inches. Seems this was plateau week. Just will keep on moving down the path as I have still lost over 30 so far and lost many sizes in clothing.Izzy I really wish you all the best! I can’t imagine all the unrest albeit we may have it here once the presidential race ends. Why can’t we all just get along – we are all humans just finding our way.
I jammed my knuckle on my middle finger the other day and it’s still bad so I am gonna try and see the doctor today. It’s been hard to type so I am not logging much here lately.
Have a happy day!

Happy days to all! -
Thanks once again, Captain Lynne!
You really are the leader of the pack here and I feel not only I, but so many of us, look to you for inspiration as we move along our path.
Today I start week 10 on BSD 800 and it’s been a really great journey. I hit a plateau this week but it doesn’t really bother me since reading everybody else’s post and knowing that it’s normal.
Thanks for being an inspiration! -
Hi Switzerland
Of course you are meant to laugh …..and as often as possible. After all it is a good exercise….laughing that is!!!Don’t know about hiking boots and mountains???!! …..don’t think I can manage those quite yet;-)
The charity walk needed umbrellas and probably wellies as we were wading ankle-deep in mud and puddles for a good part of the way.
My proper really good physio friend, who could and probably does ‘ Munro bagging’ (if you are from across-the-pond or down-under you may need to google this…..it is as bad as it sounds!!!!!) told me that given my level of walking fitness and the state of my knee it was no wonder I was limping and I shouldn’t sensibly have challenged myself to a walk of that length…err thanks!….but she knows I’m not sensible!!
On another note the Yoga teacher turned up….no traffic problems this week!
Bad news…. rain stopped play…..not at Wimbledon ….but at my ladies tennis morning…..grrr!!! -
Sniggering??? I can just see you going up to Elana and – in an almost Beavis and Butthead-esque fashion – saying ‘Hey Elana, hehehehe, nice cookies, hehehehe.’
In other news, expect rain, I’ve just pegged washing out 🙂
-
It’s not that I don’t LIKE the Fage, it just doesn’t like me! I’ve just had squeaky cheese and eggs for lunch and had to omit the yoghurt topping because of my anti-Fage tendencies 😔
So I am considering Elana’s cookies this afternoon (stop sniggering at the back). I have ALL the ingredients and I reckon I can get them past the rugrats without protest! Wish me luck, I’m going in!

Hi all, been lurking for a while but just got round to post now. I’m not diabetic at all but the more I read through the book I became convinced I was sugar dependent and recognised that my diet was based entirely around carbs and sugar, and have been overweight on and off for all of my adult life. I had become the heaviest I have ever been at 16st 6lbs and felt terrible. I saw so many things in the book about how my diet was, in effect, killing me and at 46 knew I had to change quickly. I should say I have not stuck to 800 calories but have been flexible where some days I’ve been just under and other days I’ve been up to 1200. This isn’t bothering me at all as I am seeing results and it’s working quite easily for me.
I started to follow the principles of the BSD over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May. I cut down my carbs and sugar on the Saturday and Sunday and cut them out altogether on the Monday. I went to bed hungry each night and wondered how long I would last once I was back at work. On the Tuesday morning I had Greek yoghurt with Strawberries and Blueberries and took some cashews and blueberries to work with me. Lunchtime came and as I get to walk home for lunch, had scrambled eggs with tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach. I can honestly say that from around 2pm that afternoon I have not felt hungry since. I know when I want to eat as my tummy rumbles, but long gone are the shaky spells where I had to find anything to eat instantly for fear of passing out!
The main benefits I noticed almost straight away were that I felt so much better each day, was not sluggish or felt under the weather (despite having a bad head cold before I started the diet which lasted 2 weeks!) and I was sleeping better than I had for years, no achey legs or uncomfortable sleeping position.
Within 10 days I had lost 8lbs and felt amazing. My skin was no longer dry (without doing anything different to it) and my energy levels had gone from nil to claiming back my evenings by being able to do things after dinner, which was normally a ‘sit in front of tv all evening’ time.
And so this has continued for almost 5 weeks now and I have lost 13 lbs up to this morning, I’ve eaten out a few times and had a night away but stuck to it by making considered decisions on where and what to eat. I can honestly say I am not missing potatoes, pasta, rice, cereal at all, but I do miss bread. Not every-day sliced bread, but the crusty, seeded type. I’ve avoided buying any to cut down on temptation! I still cook potatoes and rice, pasta, for my husband and son, but as a consequence they are cutting down on carbs too and have both also lost weight!
Last week I started running (the old nhs podcast coach to 5k) and as I’m not a natural runner, it is hard, but I’m doing it as I feel I actually can do it now, being so much lighter! I’m on holiday in September and my goal is to be confident enough to put on a swimming costume and swim in the pool each day, something I love but won’t do while carrying weight. I also know that I will probably eat carbs while away but hopefully my body will be able to process them better now, and when I come home I can’t see any reason why I can’t follow the diet again – to be honest it hasn’t felt anything like any diet I have ever been on, I’m not hungry or grumpy or feeling deprived of anything. At this moment in time I can see me eating like this forever, feeling this good, why would I not??
So my meals are usually like this:
B Yoghurt and fruit in the Blend Active to take to work OR porridge with fruit
L Eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach OR cottage cheese with salad
D Fish or meat with veg or salad
Snacks – I’m loving snacking on berries and nuts, usually around 11am and 4pm, I know nuts are high in calories but these really do get me through the day. I’ve cooked better than ever and it’s been so much easier using fresh veg and salad, and have used many variations using similar ingredients. Oh and Lime and salt are amazing for salad dressing!I hope everyone has success following a version of this diet, it really is life changing.

on 1 Jul 2016 at 13:06 in Fast 800Hi Vikki.
I spent five weeks getting my mind ready, I am on day 3, on the carb assessment questionnaire it warned me I would find it difficult. I haven’t it is a revelation, I am feeling so well, alert, enjoying the food, I decided I would not eat bread potatoes rice pasta etc any more as the eating plan suggests, to allow my stomach to shrink, so my appetite calms down and it did instantly. Just get your head around it embrace it and enjoy, planning for me is the key to successful in range with calls and carbs meals.
We can all do it together here. 🤗🤗🤗 -
Gooooood afternoon all! It’s July! The sun is shining! It’s meant to be raining! Scales still showing 16 stone 3 so all is well in my world 🙂
Janey, I’m sorry you didn’t like the Fage, but there’s no point eating something that makes you feel off, is there? I will only have it as a one off treat now, it’s a bit pricey and hubby prefers the Aldi one anyway.
Hello Tokyo. I totally agree with you. We’ve made such huge concessions over the last few weeks with our diet, and if we are going to eat this way indefinitely, we will have to succumb when we need to succumb. And if we’re doing it in a healthier way, or a way that is allowed by the plan, then all the better. Have fun gardening 🙂 I’m on the ball today, hubby having King Prawn salad and I’m having smoked haddock with wilted spinach and a poached egg for tea. Not getting caught out again! I want another pound gone by tomorrow to give me my stone and a half in 3 weeks 😀 If not, I will scream and scream and scream until I am sick.

on 1 Jul 2016 at 11:52 in Fast 800Tomorrow both me and my husband are starting the 8wk 800cal diet, feeling excited but also a little scared/apprehensive!
H has been diabetic for many years and although he’s lost a lot of weight his blood sugars are getting worse. I’m not diabetic, but very overweight and I worry about becoming diabetic in the future so the BSD seems ideal as we can both follow it, and hopefully change our habits for life.
At the moment carbs are definitely a staple food for us, I think it’ll take a while to get out of the mindset that we need carbs to bulk up our meals – I’d say currently that most (ok all) of our meals contain pasta/rice/bread/potatoes – generally wholemeal versions though reading the BSD book it seems these aren’t as healthy as we believed.
We’ve done a food plan for the week ahead, and have an ocado delivery coming tonight. I’ve looked into low carb alternatives so we have low carb livlife seeded bread and konjac noodles/rice (anyone have any experience of these? the reviews are all either 5* or 1* nothing in between, the fishy smell worries me a little).
So I was wondering if you have any tips to share? How have you managed to stem hunger pangs?
Also, what results have people had so far? I’ve got a lot of weight to lose so I’m aiming for 42-56lb weight loss in these first 8 weeks…maybe unrealistic but I’m aiming high!
-
Hi ay caramba,
I’m so pleased you found your friends! Your post made me laugh (Don’t know if I was supposed to).
Congratulations on your hiking boot! I’ll race you up the nearest mountain. I wonder if your fitbit knows you only have 2 lbs to go?????
It sounds like your yoga teacher is so chilled she forgets to turn up. LOL. -
1. (From yesterday) I was able to drive 200 kms and pick up my elderly Dad from hospital and take him to his home and settle him in overnight (and all that’s involved in that).
…and speaking of primary school….
2. While taking my Dad to his local pharmacy (he still lives where I grew up) he started chatting to an elderly gentleman and turned to me asking if I knew him. It was my primary school Principal and Year 6 teacher who I hadn’t seen since 1972. Amazing. As there’s a federal election here in Australia tomorrow, that’s where our conversation turned. I’m still blown away by the entire meeting and give thanks for growing up on the shores of Lake Macquarie. My childhood determined my adult sense of community.
3. 42 years does not necessarily distance people. (Please extrapolate this out to ‘written conversations on the internet does not necessarily distance people’.)
Good night Izzy and everyone. -
Thanks for encouraging me. I will download the app fat secret, once I start eating nuts I can’t stop!!! LIke crisps but they are not in the house now!
Bananas, another hunger filler for me but will not buy anymore,. Breakfast was great this morning – full fat plain yogurt absolutely bliss!! haven’t had one for ages! A few days meals already planned, bought in, that is the danger when I have nothing in that I should eat. I think oh I have to make do but this is not going to be the way for the next 8 weeks. Am going to buy scales as I usually go by my trousers and how they fit but I have loads of size 12 trousers that I cannot squeeze into!!!!I have fitbit so I am doing my 10,000 steps a day, at least most days as sometimes I do loads more as I have to so I do carry some of those over in my mind. I can keep a calorie count on that as well. Have downloaded the app!
Will keep posting as and when
Thank you -
Good morning
well hello chocolate ( said like terry thomas and old 50’s film actor !!!) that cake looks delish i dont care if its how ever many calories i am not eating it all day everyday and i guess thats the difference i have gone from eating sugar in everything ( and boy i ate a lot !!)to this diet i have followed it to the letter and seen results and i am doing it for the weight loss and a different way of living not to control or reverse diabtes and i am thankful the support i have recieved on here.
like you said in another post Lucky its a treat its a one off and if i calculate it in why not
I think to suceed in this way of eating there has to be a bit of a treat now and then i dont want to be a diet bore and after the year i have had i feel a bit of cake every now and then will do the trick
hope that wasnt preachy off my soapbox now off to my garden i may be sometime and no garden appliances shall be harmed this week !!! -
Hi Christine
Seems you are beginning to dig yourself out of the funk and think a little more positively, which is great. Hope you will now start to find things turning around. Be gentle with yourself and don’t expect anything to happen now, now, now and I’m sure you will begin to feel better about things – and hopefully feel better physically too.
Have a relaxing w/e and shout out if you need to. -
Hi Hashimoto,
Great to hear everything’s OK. Good luck with your garden.
How will we know to send out a search party if you get lost in the undergrowth? -
Hi captainlynne,
Once again I’m singing your praises “La la la la laaaaaa”. Keep inspiring us.
I still have a way to go on my journey but one thing that helps me is reading the forums.
Your changing threads every 8 weeks has been innovative and also helps the readers visualise where you are on your journey. Thanks for the ideas Cherrianne. I’m not at maintenance but every bit of information is helpful. I’ve been doing BSD 5:2 since 28th May and certainly my plan when I reach my target is to continue to eat low carb med style but obviously maintain my target weight. Thanks for the tips.
“Ay caramba”, ay caramba…..you are sooooo close to your target weight. Congratulations on reaching the 9’s.

Keep moving forward Catherine80. You’re already doing great.
Meal replacement shakes can be a ‘sweet’ substitute to a meal.
Don’t be afraid to mix up meals. You can have breakfast for lunch or dinner. Totally up to you. It’s important for you to find whatever works for you. We’re all different.
I’ve found that jumping on the scales first thing in the morning everyday is great to get a measure on how I’m doing.
-
Hi SueSue1951,
When I started I cut out all the usual carbs, plus most fruit, berries are the best fruit to have, blueberries strawberries, rhubarb, and passion fruit are my favourites. You can get an app that tells you the carb value of all food which helps.
A lot of us bsd ers, count the carbs rather than the calories, however if you feel more comfy weighing everything than do that, I weigh a lot of foods if I’m not sure about the total count for a meal,
Again, as to the nuts, check on an app that counts both calories and carbs, it will give you an idea how many are ok, I have an occasional apple, pear is high in carbs so I steer clear of them generally. I haven’t had a banana since February!
The lettuce bacon and avocado is a great breakfast or lunch, I have adapted it so we all eat it, I do iceberg lettuce, chopped avocado and bacon cut up with the radish sliced into it as well. It’s a lovely meal, I also dribble a little xtra virgin olive oil on it!
The app I use is called fat secret, have a look at it and see if it’s what you could use?
I hope this goes some way to helping you out? Good luck and keep posting.

posted by spcox on How accurate are the calorie counts for the recipes?
on 1 Jul 2016 at 10:53 in Starting the BSDHi catherine80,
Count every calorie. Milk in tea/coffee, alcohol, drinks, juices. They all count.
I’ve found the calorie count in the book a little difficult to follow. I’ve ended up removing items from the recipes that are superfluous and simply add calories.
For example, the no-carb bircher:
– Removed the flax seeds. Don’t use for anything else, expensive and not required.
– Only use 30ml of apple juice. 50mls was too much/too sweet.Veg curry – don’t need cauliflower rice. Extra 70 calories you don’t need.
Reduction in items reduces overall calories without reducing flavour.
Same can be done with other meals.
Good luck
-
Hi Sandie,
It’s great that you’re setting a good example for OH. Just remember that OH will need to have the will to stop/cut down on the alcohol before you see any changes in that department.
You’re doing really well – it must be great for you to see your BMI going down. -
posted by spcox on New starter only day 2 does it get easier?
on 1 Jul 2016 at 10:45 in Starting the BSDHI twinkle27,
Welcome and keep going. The early days are hardest, but motivation builds as you progress and see results.Calorie count everything. It’s critical to ensure you know how many calories you are really eating.
You may also want to consider keeping your meals simple. Complicated meals can easily exceed calorie counts and meals for four end up with a fridge full of food that you either have to eat or throw away. Simple = success. While the BSD focuses on food, it is equally important to focus on portion size.
It’s entirely up to you, but when you get the hang of things, it’s easier to make complicated meals and not get overwhelmed.
Good luck and keep going. You’re already doing great.

Hi Frog
Sorry for the delay in replying, I wanted to make sure I was giving you the correct information.
In David Gillespie’s book ‘Eat Real Food’ he says: Stevia (and similar sweeteners like Aspartame & Saccharin) are relatively new additions to our diet and the science isn’t conclusive one way or the other in the long term effects on our bodies.
As it’s taken 200 years since the introduction of sugar to understand the harmful effects of fructose, it could take many years to understand what the likes of Stevia will do.
He says that he would avoid them or treat them as methadone for sugar addicts (use it to get off sugar, but don’t plan on using it for the long term). He feels they are safe in limited doses, but not to rely on them.
I hope this helps
Cheers
Linda -
Hi Josie, well it doesn’t sound terribly healthy.. But it does sound delicious! Can we risk 250 cals a slice for a treat? More to the point, can we actually cut it into 15 portions without laser positioning?! I think some of these recipes are very naive on a cake lover’s slice 😳
In other news, and probably to howls of derision..I think I’m going to have to chuck the Fage yoghurt out! Each time I’ve eaten it I have very quickly felt extremely unwell as if my body objects to whatever is or isn’t in it! No other brands of Greek type yog have had this effect. Anyone else experienced this? Presumably whatever they strain out of it is what my gut wants!
-
Ooooooooh Josie!! 😀 That sounds like it could work, are you going to try it? I have a long, loooong day out on Sunday, rugby, car boot sale, meeting relatives, dragging kids, have to take a packed lunch so I may try making that, seeing as I have all the ingredients anyway 🙂
-
Hi Lynne,
I have given my health issue a lot of thought since we ‘spoke’ yesterday, our big family weekend was great, however me and two of our daughter had a bit of a tummy upset, ( too many hands touching the food that was prepared possibly?) anyway they recovered quickly, whereas I am still feeling it, so I am thinking because I am already struggling with my compromised health, the tummy problem is linked In as much as it is struggling to recover from two things!
Now I have worked that out! I can work on getting a healthy gut and back on track! After every meal I get griping pains for a while so think it might be useful for me to do what I do when I get a Diverticular episode.
Great, I feel like I have climbed a mountain in my head to get to that! So instead of worrying silently, I must share, so that I get the right advice! Thank you Lynne, it’s taken me a while but thanks to you, Imogen and sunnyB I have got there!

something i found earlier in case anyone is interested in chocolate cake
Author: Libby
Recipe type: Cake, Dessert
Cuisine: LCHF, Low Carb, Wheat Free, Sugar Free, Gluten Free, Primal
Serves: 15
INGREDIENTS
• 300g /10.5 oz dark 75% chocolate
• 175g / 6 oz butter
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 6 eggs
• 6 tbs double cream
• 4 tsp granulated stevia (optional) or sweetener of choice to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Melt the chocolate and butter together over a low heat in a saucepan. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly before adding the vanilla extract.
2. In another bowl beat the eggs, cream and stevia together for 3-4 minutes (use a stick blender or hand whisk). It will go frothy and remain runny.
3. Slowly add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture in the saucepan, stirring all the time. As you add more egg mixture, the chocolate and butter will thicken to the consistency of custard.
4. Pour into a prepared tin (see below). Grease a loose bottom cake tin with butter then line the loose bottom with baking paper and push through the outer ring so the baking paper adds a seal and stops the cake mixture from leaking.
5. Bake at 180C/ 350F

I’m sure like most of us, once you get past the initial 10 days or so, you will find it mush easier. As you get used to what you can have and the cals and carbs in foods eaten regularly, things will start to fall into place. And it’s surprising that when you cut out the carbs, you rarely experience ravenous hunger and eventually even the cravings die down.

Mmmmn George Brocoli!!
-
Hi Lucia
Think I have been lucky not to have had any toxic comments from people I know but am still finding it rather weird that near strangers think it’s ok to come up and say ……’Oooh you’ve lost a lot of weight….I hardly recognized you’.
At least friends say something along the lines of…..’ You look well. Are you Ok? You have lost weight. I hope it was intentional….wow well done’. -
Welcome to the forums deetia52. Your post is AOK. You’ve made the right decision and today is not only the 1st of July but the 1st day of your BSD journey and the 1st day of the rest of your life.
If you’ve read the book, that’s great – if not, reading it (over and over) helps get your head around it. Read the forums as well because there’s heaps of valuable information and help if/when you need it.
Best wishes. -
Hi Lucia,
I just love that you are so real and honest. Thank you.
By being real and posting your ups and downs it helps all of us that struggle at times.
What I find interesting is all of the people that have negative comments don’t appear to be actively doing anything to further their health. There are so many ‘experts’ in our society that people often comment to you about things that would have been considered rude 10 years ago.
Good for you to ignore them and plough through….you need to do what you need to do to be fit and healthy.
Mr Broccoli sounds so much like George Clooney……..
Have a great day.
PS Hope you’re reading this at lunch time and laugh out loud in the canteen! (The George part). -
Thankyou for you’re welcome. Sorry for the late reply, but I’ve been so busy adjusting recipes, counting calories and focusing on our new eating plan.
My first day was a struggle, not from temptations, but headaches and generally feeling weak and shaky. 2nd day was easier and the headaches only showed up in the evening. I can honestly say I haven’t felt like falling off the wagon once 🙂.
On the 28th day I had lost 8.5 kgs. I’m so happy with the results. My goal in the beginning was to lose 20 kilos, now I can actually see that happening and maybe a little more 😉 -
Hi I am having problems finding how to post. Hope this is ok although not a new topic as such. I have been trying on and off for a month now. Just back from my holidays and put on LOADS so now ready to do this properly. Plan for today –
B – greek yogurt and blueberries
L – Feta and salad

I think that people are basically insecure about themselves, aren’t they, so they try and justify themselves either by direct remarks or by unhelpful ones.
My s-i-l saw me (she knows I am doing this) and simply said “well, we can see YOU’RE losing weight” – sounds ok when written but her tone strongly implied that it wasn’t a good thing and I didn’t look good. I just said I felt really well. But wasn’t there to tell anyone else what to do, up to them.
I just moved on, but it did hurt. And sure enough later she texted me to say “sorry, it was just that I am envious to see you being successful”.
I think if you feel good, and are happy, then whatever people says is ok.
In the end your success is what matters, not everyone else’s opinions.
I’ve said before that you, Lucia, with many others on this forum are totally inspirational. 🙂
Keep on keeping on

Hi all
I seem to be stuck and on using my fitness pal realise my carb count has risen , I think that and full fat is why? My carbs come from veg / fruit etc . Whilst I know we are all different it’s a struggle for me . Soups I love them how to make them low carb with veg. Help please. -
Oh Lucia our friend how can people criticise your great efforts? I think we need some good one liners to respond to such jerks. Hmm now the other day I was told I am lucky cos I lose weight so easily.. What was going through my head was NO you moron I work incredible hard at it, I love sugar and carbs and changing my life is taking effort!

Hiya
I started yesterday. But I couldn’t find a quiet 8 weeks (it would probably be 2017 before that happens!) so I decided to just go for it and try my best. There will inevitably be times when I fall off the wagon so to speak (I am going away for a girls weekend next weekend – typically lots of wine. I will try to minimise the lapses) but I will just dust myself off and get back on track. I want to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My oldest has just had his 16th birthday, so you can see how long I have been struggling! 4 stone to lose and looking forward to it shifting with BSD.
