Julz, so sad to read the news about your horse, such a shame after all the effort to bring him back to health.
    My positives are …..
๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งvisit from granddaughter and her mum was such a joy! Sun and dry weather, allowed us to sit outside as per restrictions and had the fire pit burning as the evening drew closer.
๐ŸŒณ the bluebells in the woods are just beginning to open. Planning a return visit next week, when they should be in full bloom.
๐Ÿ‘ unexpected exercise … part of a flock of sheep had found their way from their field into the woods, so OH and I had to do some energetic sheep rangling! Managed to get them back into their field after some effort and block the gap, to hopefully stop them sneaking back again.
๐ŸŒž the better weather today, allowed me the chance to spray and drench the roses. More buds are developing …. soooooo looking forward to having roses blooming in the garden again.

Keep looking for those positives folks!

Sorry not to have been around but I have been busy!!!!
From doing nothing my diary has been quite full this week.
I met an old friend in her garden yesterday, and met up for coffee with our Gang Girls ( although we are really old ladies)! today which was lovely too.
Also, I had an 8 am hair appointment (!!!!). This morning followed by a nail appointment. Itโ€™s so lovely to be getting out and about albeit slowly.
The best news is that now we can travel outside our areas, DD and SIL are โ€˜poppingโ€™ up to see us for a picnic in the garden on Saturday. They canโ€™t stay overnight yet and will only be here for a few hours but it will be so nice to see their faces.
I just hope the warm sunshine lasts!

My start of the week positives…
*~ Sunny morning! Just been on my balcony throwing wild bird seed, and a very young Mum and baby went past, both waving and smiling up at me.
*~ Had a nasty shock over weekend,DD passed out in work friday evening and was many hours waiting to be seen in A and E.
But is ok ( ish ) now after lots of tests. Grateful it wasnt any worse, she saw a few bad sights while waiting.
At least shes back home now. Thanks NHS for being there when we need you ๐ŸŒป
*~ No ill effects at all for me over weekend after my second jab. Everyone working at the Vaccination Centre was a star, from the medical student who was very gentle administering the vax, to the volunteer who escorted me to the loo! I think she accompanied me to ensure I didnt just scarper instead of waiting the obligatory 15 mins post jab.
Even tho each helper had to say the same thing over and over to every new person arriving, they all had a smile and endless patience.XX ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š

We are so lucky here in the UK – we have relatives in Canada and Australia (as well as DS in USA) who tell us their infection rates are going up and the vaccination programmes are very slow.
Hoping for another couple of hours sitting in the sun this afternoon!

Im doing the lateral tests at home, started yesterday. They send you a pack and you test yrself twice a week and report back the results.
Things got off to a good start as I tested negative, but on the down side, the pack only contained one testing strip. They dont appear able to simply send more testing strips. I had to apply for another pack!
Thereโ€™s mixed reports on the lateral tests accuracy,so Im not sure if Im just wasting my time! Some reports say theyre only 2 % accurate. Plus there could be false negatives / false positives depending what you read!
I guess its all just a big learning curve.
*~ Anyhoo thats my positive for today,Im trying to do my bit to help us all get back to normal.Lets hope that normal will be a better normal and we all learn from it.
    *~ Bright and sunny again!
*~ Cant think of a number three as yet today, just glad I woke up to another day of living!

We received our second jab yesterday and just like Yowzer, the whole experience was well organised and everyone was kind and professional. No side effects apart from a sore arm which is no worse than that following a flu jab.
I seem to be busy dealing with paperwork regarding Hubby at present – who knew that I would be able to do any of this? I am lucky to have family and friends to help and support me – I count that as a big positive.

๐ŸŒณ visit to the woods on Monday with OH and grandson. Was a great way to spend a couple of hours …. sun, blue sky, bird song, sheep bleating in near by fields, bluebells opening and new leaves unfurling…. who could ask more.
๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ at last, after 10 days refusing to burn properly, the Aga is cooperating and is running like a dream and the tabletop cooking equipment is consigned to the cupboard once again.
๐ŸŒฆ sunny most of the day, but some late afternoon rain today, which the plants really need right now.

~ โ€œ The truth is,no amount of money or gold is worth more than bees, trees and waterโ€ ~

*~ lovely bright sunny morning, the birds are singing!

*~ Did the 8 a.m. โ€œtrying to get through to doctors to make a telephone apptโ€ thing. Got through at 8 :01 …very lucky today, sometimes have to redial for fifteen mins or more

*~ Straight after that,my grocery order came. ยฃ5 voucher towards next order as an apology, two items missing. Also they subbed a massive milk for one pint and a large butter for smaller size. Bargain! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

Yowser your subs sound good! I tried to order hand sanitiser last year (stupidly at the peak!) and they subbed it for TWO LITRES of liquid soap. Then another time I ordered vanilla yoghurt, they sent a vanilla candle. And another time I ordered ground ginger for a very specific recipe, no ground in stock so instead they sent me 2kg root ginger. Itโ€™s still in my freezer gradually getting used in curries and stir fries!

A few bad ones Iโ€™ve heard about is a red hair dye subbed for red peppers, floor wipes for toilet rolls, bird seed subbed with flea treatment for dogs!
One last one…four crusty rolls replaced by chamomile teabags! ๐Ÿ˜€
My order came from a supermarket ( clue…brrrr its icy! Its freezing!) They dont do subs at all, they just say unavailable and knock the price off the bill. Twice Ive had unavailables,Ive had an email later, apologising and giving me a code for ยฃ5 off next order. Several times now when Ive only wanted a pint of milk they’ve sent a huge one at no extra cost X

Morning! Just registering a positive feeling really, rather than anything in particular. I’m past the worst of the initial carb cravings, weight loss going well, but mostly I think its the change in weather. I’m very much solar powered, so waking up to sunshine makes a big difference to my mood – planning a BBQ tonight and might even invite a friend to come and sit in the garden because we can do that now. And I might risk it and put some seeds in, surely we’re past the frost?! Also I had my jab yesterday and have not had any significant side effects yet, so feels like winning all around!
Hope you all have great positive weekends!

*~ Got a surprise going out for a walk. To my amazement, three ten pound notes were lying on the floor in the communal hall here. Have put a notice up and await a call from the owner.

Apologies for being absent and not posting for so long. The weekend was a busy one and somehow time got away from me. However, it’s time to post some positives, so here goes …
๐ŸŒธ loads of gardening done over the weekend while the weather was cooperating. Think every muscle ached as a result and ended up in bed before nine on both nights, but definitely worth it.
๐Ÿธ discovered a new fav cocktail, Sherry Twist No.1 … I know, naughty, but has to be done sometimes๐Ÿคญ
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป despite the awful situation in India, pleased to say my friends there are okay at present.
๐Ÿ› on my once weekly shopping trip this morning, I returned a dress to a charity shop, as it didn’t fit well, but came away with a new top. Then visited a little antique/2nd hand store and bought a pretty little sapphire ring, to keep as a ‘something old & something blue’ wedding gift for my daughter.

Think that’s it for this time. Hope you’re all finding positives and that some of you will come and tell us about a few of them too.

*~ Local library open now two days a week…Took library books back after fourteen months loan!

Also DS and BIL came over for coffee and cake(not for me) and a chat – itโ€™s been a long time.
Next weekend DD and SIL are coming up again so Iโ€™m planning menus and places we can visit safely.

It’s lovely to finally get a little family time isn’t Britta? Even distanced, it’s great to actually be in their presence again. We saw some of our family over the weekend …. so that is my first positive … and my others are …
๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒธ really good gardening session yesterday and I managed to get in another hour this morning, before the rain arrived.
๐Ÿ’ฆ Crazily, I’m looking forward to the rain, as the garden desperately needs it, although my new moisture meter, means I can now check which plants need watering and which are okay. Figured having it would save on water.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป OH is making good progress with the ongoing household DIY …. should have a properly useable living room again in a couple of weeks.
๐Ÿ’‰ get my 2nd covid jab tomorrow…. yippee!
That will do for me for this time, except to say I’m grateful that all family and friends remain well, even my friends in India and Turkey.
Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend and remember to drop in and post a positive or two when you have a moment, we’d live to read about them.

๐ŸŒธ was gifted a plant by said friend … big plus for me as it was one that I’ve been looking to add to the garden for awhile now.๐Ÿ™‚

๐ŸคžHave ordered myself a new food planner notebook and fitness planner pad in the hope that they will help me stay focused!
    Lovely reading everyoneโ€™s positives.Dawn X

Hello to you too Yowzer – I just popped in to see how everyone is doing and there you were!
I love your little homily-itโ€™s a variation on O.D.A.A.T. and another slight change to push me forward.
It sounds as though we are all doing our own thing and feeling positive for the change in our plan.
Keeping on keeping on and love to you all.

Happy birthday Dawn, glad you’ve had a good one. We all need a little indulgence occasionally and what better reason than your own birthday celebration.

Re: the anenome corms, first I should say I’m no expert, but the info I have is to soak them for about 3hrs before planting and they can be planted anytime during spring or autumn … no mention of frost. So they should be fine, I put mine in to containers about a week back. I bought mine online from Farmer Gracy and they have planting info their site for all the bulbs etc which they supply.

As I’m here, might as well find some positives to share too, so here goes ….
๐ŸŽ bought some organic apple cider vinegar with turmeric and cinnamon …. delicious!
๐ŸŒ  looking forward to date night dinner tonight ๐Ÿ™‚ all under control, with prep in a holding pattern.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป OH had a reaction to the pneumonia jab he had yesterday morning, but is feeling better today.

Little shout out to Verano …. hope you are doing okay, V and that you will drop by to say Hi sometime soon …. you are missed.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi All! ,hope everybody is well xxxx
My good news and happy thoughts for Sunday evening ( apart from watching Call the Midwife, which always gets a big thumbs up from me !๐Ÿฅณ )
*~ Excited as young couple over the road just had their first baby! ๐Ÿ’•welcome to the world Baby Noah x
*~ Just thinking how lovely it is to be in the month of May! I know weather hasnโ€™t been great, but everything is so fresh and blooming and all the fox, badger, hedgehog etc babies have been born.
*~ Bought four unused lovely cups and saucers from four different sellers on EBay….each one of them said they were so nice, they couldnโ€™t bring themselves to use them. I think differently, the nicer sthing is,use it every day.Just use it! No point in anything sitting gathering dust.
Hope the week ahead is ful of good things for all BSDers xxxx

Yowser, enjoy your new cups and saucers …. you are right of course, why save things for ‘best’ when we should be making every day a little special.
Dawn, sorry for the confusion …. not sure where I got the idea you were planting anenomes! Hope you tracked down the info you needed.
Would usually be a bit early in the day for me to post positives, but as I’ve been AWOL over the weekend, figure I can find some ……
๐Ÿ’ƒ great date night on Friday, with plenty of living room dancing!
๐ŸŒฑ ordered a wood frame mini greenhouse to replace my battered plastic covered one, the cover of which is crumbling …. again. Soooo excited to get the new more robust oneone later this week.
๐ŸŒธ managed to get some gardening done between rain showers.
๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ some really good meditation sessions …. they’ve been useful, as I’ve had a particular issue to resolve.
๐Ÿฅš have discovered coddled eggs …. dangerously delicious!!!
๐Ÿธ naughty, but we had cocktails last night after dinner, just to round off the weekend …. can’t become a habit, but figured as an occasional – why not. Goes back to making an ordinary day special.

Hope everyone has been blessed with positives this weekend and you’ll be finding plenty in the coming week. Hope we’ll be reading about some of them soon.

Hope you’re all safe, well and content. Thought I’d take a moment to check in with some positives a bit early again, as the weather is giving us plenty of showers here, precuding gardening ๐Ÿฅบ ….
๐ŸŒณ made a heart shaped decoration from old wine corks, to hang in the lilac tree. Arts and crafts are not something I excel at, but quite pleased with the result. Another one is underway.
๐Ÿฅ˜ dinner already in the oven, as OH has a meeting to go to this evening, so needs to eat promptly.
๐ŸŒง the rain we’re getting at the moment, is filling up the water butts nicely.
๐Ÿฅฌ the ferment I set up last week, should be ready to tuck into tomorrow๐Ÿ™‚

That will do for me today, but hope to be reading some of your positives later.

Confess it’s getting a bit lonely here on the positives thread, but I’ll keep posting my positives until you guys join in too ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿคญ.
Here goes then ….. positives for today from my little corner of the world ….
๐ŸŽ‰ had brilliant news last evening, that a friend who had to fold his business 18mths ago and has been unemployed since, has just secured a great job … woo hoo Alain, way to go!!!
๐ŸŒž unxpected sunshine all day today.
๐ŸŒฑ new mini greenhouse arrived today … not quite as expected, so seller has given me a partial refund๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป. Still excited to get it put together though …. OH will hopefully get that sorted for me tomorrow๐Ÿ™‚.
๐Ÿ“ฑ lovely video chat with friend in Turkey, who was cheking on our apartment for us …. hard to see it and know we can’t visit yet, but hopefully we’ll get there in a couple of month’s time๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป.

Ahh we canโ€™t leave our lovely SUNNY all alone! Sending you Hugs Sunny and a few of my positives…
*~ Out today in the sunshine, watching the world go by while having an outdoorsy drink. Lots of people out with gorgeous dogs. Couldnโ€™t help noticing, and couldnโ€™t help feeling comforted, that a lot of folks are looking a bit tubby, rather like myself. Lockdown has a lot to answer for!
    * ~ My new cups and saucers have arrived and I found a matching teapot. All so pretty!
    * ~ Thinking of going back to 5:2,havenโ€™t done it for a good long while. Feeling inspired to shake myself down and shape up ,specially as a new top that doesnโ€™t fit is inspiring me to get my act together!
Come on folks,itโ€™s the lovely month of May,call by and tell us your good news!๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธxxxx
    Love to all xx

Need to join Sunny as we sunshine girls have to stick together. What positives – that takes some thought right now as we are just allowing non essential shops to open and restaurants but only if they have outside space.

Sun is shining after around 2 weeks of solid rain and drizzle. Out in the garden potting some more flowers – still.
Planning our trip to the UK for mid July – fingers crossed they will open the ferry crossings.
Steadily losing weight – 0.1kg per day but that is still nearly 2 lbs a week.
Reducing insulin to 17 units tonight – every unit reduction helps stop it causing weight gain. Down from 28 units 3 months ago – I like to take things slowly.

SG, good to see you here with some positives … great news on the weight loss and insulin and yes indeed, fingers crossed for travel in the next couple of month.
Okay, let’s see what positives I can find….
๐Ÿ›Œ currently laying in bed coming out of a migraine, with OH popping in from time to time to offer pain killers and drinks.
๐ŸŒฑ new greenhouse put together, just need to transfer the stuff from the old one.
๐Ÿ“ƒ village news letter in final stage of compilation, will send for printing tomorrow.
That will do for me today …. other than to say, I’m so lucky to have a good man in my life.
Do please share your positives, we love to read them.

    More positives to add
Finally booked our ferry crossings for mid July – hope France will be in the green zone by then. Now just need a housesitter.
Goodbye sunshine hello more rain but that’s good as I am so absorbed in my paining (artist not house) and I love not having to do anything else right now.
Lost a total of 4kgs since Jan 1st and I am now within 2lbs of my best weight ever on the BSD back 5 years ago. I didnt put on too much but it has been stop start and slow getting it off.

Glad you have a good man Sunny – I do too but he is taking a bit of looking after right now. Blood works etc but getting there.
