Thank you Verano for new thread!
And big congrat hugs Skinny to be! 💐
Have many goals this week.
First try to find time to read this tread to keep on track. And loose some weight. Every gram down is welcome. I have started to freeze a lot so the sunshine comes in handy. 👌
I will try to make meal plans for the 4day hiking next week. Any suggestions are welcome and much appreciated!
Also have to open my walkincloset and see if there’s a need for outdoor clothing or equipment.
Start wheigt is 83.87.
Good luck to all!
😁
Just a quick question for you all. Are American measuring cups, i.e., 1/4c, 1/2c, and 1 c., standard
kitchen equipment in your homes, as well as 1/4tsp, 1/2tsp, 1 tsp. and 1tbs measuring spoons?
I hope this isn’t too foolish of a question 🙂
Hi all!
Sorry for not posting for a long time and this is how its going to be until August. Summer season hav began and the tourists are here! That means I’m totaly occupied with work (except next weeks mountin hike, we are so excited!). But I pop in and read now and then. So nice to read all you posts! And congrats to all of you for sticking to this WOE! It’s just amazing when people come back on track time after time! That’s a great thing to celebrate at the midsummerparty coming up!
I will try to keep on the wagon and gladly join next thread!
As I understand it its scaleday today. This week I’ve gone up and down twice but landed o 0,84 kg down. I’m a little bit disappointed and not beeing here on the forum everyday made me lost the firm gripp a bit. On the other hand wheigt is now down to 83,87 kg. I can’t even remember when I had so little! Its LESS than 20 kg to go! Now it feels better. 😁
Hope to see you all I next thread!
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, V.! This sounds lovely! The basil, the absence of onion as well as fresh lime juice,
certainly alters the flavor profile. Now I just have to convert the measurements to ounces, cups
and lbs! 🙂 Do you also use salt or pepper? Will report back after I’ve made my first batch! xx
Hi midsummer celebrants — I thought I would join this week so I can have people to celebrate the solstice with — I love the summer and winter solstices — they are an evocative time and mysterious in a wonderful way — I’ve been thinking about what to do on the 21st of June, maybe go hiking with a dinner picnic up on Granite Chief (a 9,000 foot peak in our valley) and watch the light fade. I think we could stumble down in the dark if we’ve got headlamps on — OH thinks I am crazy!)
Happy birthday skinny-to-be — your trip hiking in Switzerland will be wonderful — we were hiking last August on the Eiger and the Matterhorn — we had such a wonderful time — where will you be staying?
Hi Denise susan,
For the sake of the newbies I thought it was worth mentioning that the period of inch loss without weight loss that covered most of the previous 4 week challenge wasn’t about a difference in focus.
I am with KazzUK on this that the weight/shape loss pattern is completely different to what I expected or have experienced when calorie counting. – I suspect that I lost a dress size but less than 2kg for a couple of reasons and I also recently added a supplement to my diet.
The change in the seasons = more daylight = that my working days are longer.
I am finding that the time it takes to do the daily chores has reduced, so I am taking on more tasks, gardening and house maintenance.
Finally I have added a supplement to my diet as a result of Dr Bikman mentioning in a podcast on the importance of l-carnitine. L-carnitine is THE nutrient, the “ferry” so to speak, that shuttles fatty acids from the blood into the mitochondria, the energy producing “furnaces” in the cells, so that the fatty acids can be used as energy. The principle source of it in our diets is red meat, and as a vegetarian that’s out for me, and 8 more of the top ten sources are ruled out by the BSD. https://www.bodybuilding.com/content/your-expert-guide-to-l-carnitine.html
As promised ……
This is similar to gazpacho but less garlicky and more fiery.
Based on a Jun Tanaka recipe. There are lots of ingredients but it’s simple to make.
1kg ripe plum, of other, tomatoes, roughly chopped
1/2 a cucumber, peeled and roughly chopped
300ml tomato juice
75 ml good red wine vinegar
2tbsp Worcestershire sauce
10 drops of Tabasco or to taste
1/2 bunch fresh basil, roughly chopped
1/4 bunch of coriander, roughly chopped
1/2 a clove of garlic minced, half really is enough because it isn’t cooked
Salt and black pepper to taste
100ml of good olive oil plus extra 2tbsp
2 Red peppers, cut into 2cm pieces.
1.Place all the ingredients except the red peppers and 2tbsp of olive oil in a large bowl and mix well.
2.Heat the 2tbsp of olive oil in a large pan and fry the red peppers gently for a few minutes until they soften slightly.
3. Remove pan from heat and add the rest of the ingredients from the bowl.
4. Leave to marinade for at least an hour. This is important for the flavours to blend together.
5. Whizz in a blender or use a stick blender.
6. Sieve. Place in sieve and press down with the back of a ladle or spoon.
I like mine without any of the ‘bits’ but you can leave some if desired. If Esnecca was here I’m sure she would have a good way to use up the ‘grounds’ after sieving. I’m afraid I just dispose of them!
7. Chill really well and serve with extra basil.
I sometimes serve this as a canapé in shot glasses with a sliver of celery and a big jug of it on the table for refills! Always goes down well and freezes well too.
There are a lot of tomatoes in the soup so it’s a bit on the carby side but it’s not something that you eat too much of. Enjoy!

Ha ha kazz. I remember that too! I think I’m about 12 years older than you! (66 next week). No, no secret message. I typed Tillybud and it printed Holland. Simples! I haven’t got predictive text on but autocorrect is just as bad.😨😬
Well done Mark, that is absolutely amazing! Congratulations 😊
Trundlebug I’m really interested in your black olive based dressing. I adore olives especially kalamata. Thanks for the drink ideas. I have green tea with jasmine but hot and I only leave the tea bag for about 1 minute. I can’t imagine how strong it would be after 4 hours!
Happy Birthday skinny to be, sounds like a lovely very celebration and with yet more to come!
Good to see so many of us up for this one week challenge. The sun is no longer shining here but that won’t dampen my spirits. Spent this morning ironing but now I need to relax a little so will post a chilled soup recipe.
Article about recent study on time restricted feeding by Krista Varaday (U of Chicago , was in MM original 5:2 BBC doc) confiming that restricting eating to 8 hrs a day resulted in an average weight loss of 3% of body weight (or about 6lbs for a 200 lb person) over 12 weeks….or about 1/2 lb a week.
She found that with restricted feeding, participants ate 350 calories a day fewer even though they were allowed to eat as they wished.
She also found far fewer subjects dropped out of the study as compared to alternate day fasting. No surprise there.
So for those feeling hungry, having a condensed loading of meals may help.

Today I found some threads about <20 carbs per day to help with more weight loss.
So, I started reading further and further and was soo pleased to see others were as confused as I am about carbs, protein and fat quantities.
I then downloaded the Myfitnesspal app and after jiggling the figures I think I may now be on the right path. If I follow the meal plans and tweak them so that I finish the day under 800 and around the 20g of carbs the weight should come off more quickly, right??
I think my brain is now in BSD overload 😅
My first week down and I have lost 2.1kg but fasting readings are all over the place.
I am not giving up this time.
Nice work, everyone! Here are my numbers.
Start: 127.0 lbs
Goal for this week: 125.0 lbs
Actual for this week: 125.8 lbs
I dipped lower during the week, but put it back on. I have to say I was really good at keeping on top of things some days, and not good at all on other days. I definitely need to improve my…. method? Okay, on to next week. I’ll be on vacation and won’t be able to take the scales with me, so no weigh-in until I return. So, I’ll set my goals for two weeks this time.
Start: 125.8 lbs
Goal (by the 3rd of July): 123.0 lbs
I’m so impressed by everyone’s discipline and commitment 🙂
wow markf, what a fantastic result, keep going.
Hi,
I finished the 8 weeks last Friday. I lost 66lb (30 kg) and my Hba1c fell from 51 to 39. I occasionally felt a bit light headed and towards the end had minor constipation a couple of times. Nothing more than that.
I no longer snore and sleep like a baby. All the ‘arthritic’ pains I was having in my ankles, knees and hips have gone. I feel tremendous and 15 years younger.
One other side effect: I had given up the booze because it used up too many precious calories. Last Friday night I had a bit of a celebration. On Saturday I had the first hangover that I’ve had in many years. BTW, I never really thought about having a drink during the 8 weeks but I had cravings for bread.
I am still overweight. I have a busy period ahead of me so I am going to eat sensibly during that time and then start this diet a second time, probably in August. This is an amazing phenomenon. The conventional wisdom would have had me taking medication for the rest of my life. Totally unnecessary.
Two bits of advice for new starts. First, plan your meals. Easily done with the associated recipe book. Then do not buy anything that is not required for those meals. The number of times I went mooching in the cupboards and came away empty handed! I have my wonderful wife to thank for that. She planned and shopped for all meals and was scrupulous about ‘goodies’. She even did the diet with me!
Secondly, COMMIT! Don’t just think about giving it a go. Don’t stick a toe in the water. Decide that you are going to do it knowing that you are going to finish it. Don’t be put off by that dreadful programme on ITV last week. People emoting all over the place and crying and saying that it was the hardest thing they have ever done. It really is not that hard!
Good luck!
Hello! I’ll join you all here also as 7 days does help. Short sharp bursts!
Happy birthday, Skinny! 🙂 You had some lovely gifts to mark the occasion – bet you felt like a million dollars after the “treatment”!
Hi all,
I’m a bit late to the party but better late than never! I’ve been doing the 800 BSD since Feb and have lost 19 lbs. I had lost more but have fallen off the wagon several times 🤦🏻♀️ back on it today though!
Starting weight: 167 lbs
Today’s weight: 148 lbs
Target for this challenge: 138lbs, which would put me within 3lbs of my goal!
Hi Denise S – sorry to read about your dog – fingers and everything else crossed.
Maggie – it really is the strangest thing – I have bony shoulders and collarbone! – but I still have around 70-80 lbs to lose… 13 years ago when I lost with WW – My legs, face and arms slimmed first and my apple torso the last to reduce. I now have indentations roughly where my waist (something I’ve never had!) will be eventually! It’s a journey of discovery, to be sure! xx
Well done everyone and in particular, our “newbies”! Going great guns now!
Excellent post Blackspot and Vulcan – sounds like a very trying time for you right now. Sometimes we all have a trying week or even a trying month and if it’s a struggle, for me, I just aim to stay the same until it passes. I struggled with the first 3 months of this year. I was that miserable and fed up with all the cold and snow, and the disruptive commute, I really struggled but I kept plodding, one day at a time…. I kept reminding myself how ill and despairing I felt when I was 18 stone 6. So I just paddled like a duck until my mood improved which was once I saw the days lengthen and the temps start to rise in April!
Tillybud – good to see you back from holiday – HOLLAND? and I thought you were leaving us all a message… ! Hope Our Love Lasts And Never Dies!! 🙂 How old am I? 🙂
Kazzeexx
What a result Denise Susan, well done! Good luck with your dog, I hope the outlook is positive.
Week 7 and just 2lbs lost, but my body shape is dramatically altering, clothes starting to swamp me. Allie, it’s the different pattern of weight loss you mentioned. Last time I was this weight, only about 5 years ago, my middle was still fat, now I’m getting a waist ! So weight really is just a part of the story.
Hi Everyone.Im really trying to get my summer vibes from all of you .Its cold and wet here in Australia and Im feeling drawn to comfort food. Miso soup and v8 juice heated are my go to foods.weight today 83.4kg hoping to loose 1kg this week and overcome some serious mindless eating .wishing you all a great summer
Hi VerityD, Welcome. We have all been there, hence the thread called Just Starting… Again – jump in and join us or follow anything that interests you.
Made an error with weight, my loss was half a pound but that makes 3.5lbs not 4 – oops. Anyway, still want to lose 2lb per week for the next 6 weeks when family arrive so I am still keeping on…
Lovely walk with the dogs on the beach yesterday which we haven’t done for a few months. Reminded how peaceful it is out in the country and how ready people are to interact; I’ve loved living in the city, it’s very stimulating but it was so calming to be back on my home turf. The dogs adored it too.
Hi V, back again for another week. Thank you for starting up. My goal again is to lost 2lbs (failed last week but still had a loss). I want my insulin under 30 units. My downfall this week will be a meal out tomorrow night. It is a set menu and I am waiting to hear from the restaurant exactly what they are serving so I can be prepared. I have told them I have an intolerance to starch, so we will see what they say. It is a quiz night so I am not really bothered about the meal, just dont like having to pay for it if I cant eat it.
The weather here has suddenly jumped from 23 / 24 degrees to 30 today so I am sure I will be back in the pool later today so hoping to get lots of exercise. Forecast for the next 2 weeks is the same, sun, sun, sun with temperatures in the low 30’s. About time. See you all tomorrow.
Hi all
What a week!! Positives first
1- got into overweight category
2- after small gain end of last challenge I have refocused & lost that 2.1/4 lbs & down a further 4lbs so total loss 6.1/4lbs this week to end my 16 weeks!! On -35lbs 2.1/2 stone!! Many plateaus hills small dips & great drops on the way but that is overall an average each week of over 2lbs!
Zinny & kazzuk – you have shown us we can be a away and still succeed!
Sydneysider – to slip is human but you must have contained them to still loose so let’s concentrate on the long game and not obsess with the short term another week you will be 100% on plan & not loose or even gain & that’s when it is important to remember this week a ‘lucky loss’!! Kazz62 a dress size 0.5 or 2lbs are still in the right direction
JGwen amazing refocus & SarahChebel is you stuck with the plan you will have your reward in the future
Blackspot- 6.4lbs is a treat in itself but with the tennis starting sliced strawberries & cream eaten in slow motion savouring every SMALL spoonfuls l need to learn to make it last. Need to finish here as need to take dog to the Vets long story but was being put to sleep today after a horrendous weekend but has made some improvement last night so not out of the woods yet but let’s see Dx
Hi MO14, first of all welcome to the BSD forum. It is good that you want to take control of your own health. Traditionally doctors have been telling diabetics to eat starchy carbs with every meal and have starchy snacks. Although the message has not got out to the general medical population there is a sea of change away from this advice. Our diet of high fat (good fats) and low carb is going to be rolled out to diabetics by GP surgeries but it is going to take some time.
Medication – it would be helpful to know the doses of meds you are on and what your BG numbers are at the moment. First of all (as a diabetic) I would suggest that you leave it as it is. Follow the diet strictly and keep a careful eye on your blood sugars, do you have a monitor. If you see your Blood Glucose numbers start to fall then in the weeks to come you can start to reduce your medication bit by bit. If you dont have a monitor, get to know the symptoms of low BG and know your own body. I would not stop the blood pressure meds unless you have adverse symptoms like feeling faint, going dizzy when you stand up and so on – please Google symptoms of low bp. However, these can also be symptoms of low blood sugar and this is more likely. When I started this diet my BG was 190 and within 2 weeks I was down to 120 and 3 weeks 90 and I nearly freaked out and was really scared. Get to know your own body. I use insulin so was reducing it very slowly but I was also taking Glycazide and this is know to give rapid lows so that it what I cut down on. Metformin apparently doesn’t have a big effect on BG so you can reduce it safely if your numbers are going down. Just take care and take it slow. If you stick with it you will be able to get rid of the medication but dont be in a big hurry.
Hi all, this week I have lost 0.75lb or 3/4 lb. That is a total loss of 3.75. Best of all I have got my insulin down to 32 units which was my aim for this week. That to me is success – the weight will come off. See you all on the new thread.
First of all welcome MO14, great you’ve chosen to take control of your health and we’ll do all we can to help.
I can’t advise on diabetes but I was on medication for blood pressure, statins and daily aspirin. I stopped them all because of the side-effects, and the discovery that aspirin was toxic. I now know that all of the medication was treating symptoms and whilst the cause remained nothing would change, and probably worsen.
Your BP will drop with the low carb diet so be aware of that and modify your medication to prepare for it. Have a look at the thread Take a Look at This which has a ton of useful links to books, articles and videos which will help broaden your understanding of this way of eating.
I don’t know what country you are in but in the UK there’s a system of paying GP’s by activity which incentivises prescribing so the GP is not neutral in considering your healthcare.
Your body, your choices are paramount, stick with us and we’ll help you achieve your personal targets.
Maggie
Hi all,
Thanks Verano for setting up this challenge! As of yesterday I’m firmly back on the wagon, after falling off about a month ago. In that time I’ve put on 4.5 lbs, so I’ll try and shift as many of those as I can in the next week. My meals are mostly all planned out, I’m at a barbecue on Saturday but I’ll just avoid the bread and limit the alcohol. I’ll be flying down to London and back for the weekend, and airports are usually my downfall, so I’ll be mindful of that. Upping my water intake and finally doing some exercise so that should all help. Good luck everyone!
Good morning good people,
Here I am. The lovely, smiley Skiny-to-be the day after her 40th birthday yesterday.
So my next 7 days commitment is to re-set to the 800 cals at 20g carbs and after the 7 days to step on the scale to assess the damage what the 2.5 weeks on holidays and the Father’s Day and my birthday celebrations with my lovely lot caused.
The plan for the SUMMER is to get in a better shape to enjoy my birthday present in about 6 weeks time – My husband gave me a week in Switzerland, new £200 walking mountain boots (as my old ones had a broken sole after 8 years) and a posh ‘Ultra deluxe massage and facial’ (worth as much as the boots – Loooool) with a lot of collagen slapped on my face and the result was instantly visible. Needless to say I bought a lot of stuff with higher content of collagen in it 🙂 – so when we walk in the mountains I can walk without being breathless just coming out of the lift at the hotel – LOOOOL.
No, seriously, I went on hols at 78.4kg and I hope in next 5-6 weeks I would go down to minimum of 72kg so would feel better in myself and would be on track to my first task in this new decade and that would be my …. wait for it…. SKIRT :-).
Need to start somewhere and here is a good starting point. Back here, with my friends and support.
Sending you all my love,
Skinny-to-be
40years + 1 day

I drink a mug of water every hour AnnieW, awash with the stuff. I have certain restrictions on my diet of the good stuff. Fruit for instance is a no no for me as I always have to add loads of sugar and I only actually like the taste of Victoria plumbs. Greek yoghurt, which I love, actually sees me very hungry a short while later. I can’t eat capsicums because I have severe abdominal pain ( I think it is something to do with the relaxing effects on the stomach sphincter, same with peppermint) ..I have a hiatus hernia, so it is not what I need. The help here is superb and I feel ready to continue. Thank you all.
Hi Jocasta. Just one more thought have you/did you need to address the water situation as outlined by Sunshinegirl? It really does help make a difference.
Me too! I blame it on early-onset-Christmas in November! It’s taken me till now to get my head back into gear but I started again yesterday and lost 2 pounds. We have 3 social events in the next 2 weeks, so I am really going to try and stick to it. I have checked the online menu for the pub lunch and the BBQ should be fine, it’s just the dinner with friends that might be tricky. After that it should be plain sailing. Hope your first week back is going well. Chin up, weight down 🙂
By the way, is there a printable daily/weekly record sheet on this site? I don’t want to have to buy yet another book.
Thanks MrsT’!
I just noticed a typo. The ‘weed’called was called ‘fat hen’ not fat her…
Great post BlackSpot, that gave me a real pick me up to start the day
The rain over the last few days has shown up a positive that hadn’t occurred to me before. – I wore my ‘best’ waterproof jacket yesterday that I used to wear when I started. – If I am being honest last October I used to fasten the press studs down to my waist, but couldn’t do up the bottom press stud or zip cos it didn’t meet over my hips. Now it looks like I have borrowed someone else’s jacket cos it is so baggy.
Had my first experience chatting via skype on Sunday, with Allie from the forums.
For the first week in a little while the scales are moving.
I am going to be a little greedy now, as I haven’t posted on the positives for a little while, but the weather conditions now of warmth and gentle rain is bringing on the hay crop nicely. – And there is forecast to be another dry / warm period coming up. Fingers crossed.
I’ve seen on Jason Fung’s FB Group cold brewed green tea which I’ll be trying today; a tea bag in a jug of filter water refrigerated and left to infuse for 4 hours. Serve with (this will be my twist!) cucumber, mint, strawberries- think Pimms 🍹
Also, picked up a pot of herbs in Sainsbury’s which had lemon verbena, lemon balm and ginger mint so I’ll be trying that. All we need is for the sun to come out.
Have a happy week everyone.
Maggie
Am still working at the insulin resistance. Have kept to 20g carbs and intermittent fasting but blood sugars have been much worse for the last 2 weeks. Fasting at 5.4 and for at least 4 hours after a meal at around 6.5. Read some stuff on the .internet which was suggesting that intermittent fasting made insulin resistance worse – a bit scary.
But yesterday – suddenly 5.2 three hours after a meal and fasting is back to 4.8 this morning.
Jason Fung says that this is caused by the body moving sugar from its stores – giving it a chance to burn it off. Maybe I am so insulin resistant because my body is so very good at hanging on to its stores of sugar. I gritted my teeth and resisted the urge to inject some insulin because I know it will just make the insulin resistance worse. I still have some boxes of insulin stored in the fridge from when I used to inject – not brave enough to throw it away yet). Will carry on with the intermittent fasting and 20g carbs. So pleased that I ‘held my nerve’ and kept going and that the good blood sugars are back.
This was the info from Jason Fung that kept me going:-
A question was asked – Should i worry if my blood sugar while fasting goes up to in the 140’s [Around 8]?
Jason’s reply was – This is quite common, and due to breakdown of glycogen or production of new glucose in response to some of the hormonal changes of fasting. It is neither good nor bad.
Think of it this way. Your body is simply moving sugar from its stores (glycogen and fat) and pushing it into the blood. Here your body has a chance to burn it off.
Sydneysider, you can do this too.
The BSB initial phase is only 8 weeks. And that limited time let’s me get on with it, knowing that I’m doing right.
I meet so many people at work (paramedic) drifting into really serious illness through years of being overweight, having uncontrolled blood sugars or blood pressure.
We in the west have got used to people who are cuddly looking being normal and larger people being ‘a bit over weight’.
But we aren’t evolved to carry this weight and eating the limited diet we do, (toast for breakfast, pasta salad for lunch and pie and chips for dinner), is so limited from such a narrow group of plants and animals that is no surprise that’s we’re hungry all the time. Our bodies are asking for ‘nutrition’ but we just keep giving them calories from the same food. Why is it someone drasticly overweight who has eaten 4000 calories in a day already could feel hungry and eat another Domino’s pizza? Because they still haven’t fed their body what IT wants.
Eat the rainbow. Try salads and veggies you never tried before.
We have stopped eating things that used to be part of our diet cause it’s easy to fill a basket in the supermarket and they fill the shelves with easy and profitable goods.
An example is my Romanian neighbours, out on a walk with me started collecting a ‘weed’called fat her, I was used to seeing in on my veg plot as a weed, but they say its a commonly gathered green used back home. I was later given a savoury pastry with that as a filling. Loads of garlic and tasty!
Anyway I’m ranting now…
On this diet yes my tummy rumbles as its empty and has nothing much else to do. But being empty isn’t a problem, I’ve got loads of energy stored up round my waist. I’m not feeling hungry because I’m ploughing into the good stuff!
Remember, you are doing great things for yourself because you want to.
You are eating foods that feed your body not your fat cells.
And sugar & white flour are just additive white powders… Not healthy!
Good luck everyone.
Morning all
Well done for all the losses 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was aiming to be 16 st something but weighed in at 17 st 1/4 lbs so 2 1/4 lbs loss in 3 days, so I’m now on your weigh day
Week ahead all good aiming to be 16.9, and total loss so far 12 1/4lbs
Happy week everyone 🙋
Verano – I’m a big fan of fizzy water, ice and citrus slice. Keeps you hydrated and feeling as though you are having a ‘ drink ‘.
Good morning all. Not the best of weeks for me but I really am ‘Just Starting … Again!’ today. I have just three or possibly four weeks to my next HbA1c so I really do have to make a dent in my weight gain. I just can’t face the “I told you so” face if my bloods have risen. This will be my first 6 month review since my diabetes was ‘reversed’. I am worried.
So here I go again …..
Hello all,
I’m on maintenance this week. Intend to 800 twice a week to keep me calibrated. This weekend marked the end of my 8 weeks of 800 with some celebration and a few culinary indulgences that left me feeling less well than i have been on the WOE plan. So this week i hope to embrace the eating strategy as my own and try not to fall off the pony.
Midsummer is a lovely time. I will be eating poached salmon nicoise this week. Fish, green beans, jammy boiled eggs, crisp lettuce and a black olive-based dressing – among other low carb delights.
Have a grand week, all.
Morning all
Week 2
Ok so I had a cheeky pre weekend weigh in on Thursday as I knew I was in for a heavy weekend (1940s themed party Friday, BBQ Saturday, Fathers Day brunch followed by trip to London for a concert Sunday). At that point I’d lost 6lbs. This morning after a weekend of excess and zero regard for the diet the rebound is only a 3lb gain. So overall still a net loss!!!
However I’m struggling this morning. I only got to see my boys for an hour on Sunday and even then because I had to get unpleasant and shame their mother into it. The consequence of that is that she has gone back and demanded even more money from me as maintenance – over £120 a week a still rising. Not bad going for a senior midwife in the NHS who earns over £46k! She gets away with this by refusing to let me see my boys overnight on the 50:50 basis we agreed through mediation and solicitors letters and then going to the authorities saying that I’m not providing for them. Feeling really down and have definitely lost all motivation.
I have a couple of non diet days coming up too this week – a dinner at work to celebrate the D Day landings with as many D Day veterans as we have contact with in the local area and a 1st Birthday BBQ for my partner’s niece. But frankly I just want to get on it drink loads of alcohol and eat kebabs and curry.
Definitely not feeling the love for this this week – but my 200 cal salad is made and my swimming gear is packed for lunchtime – maybe that will help me out of my fuzz. (Although what I think I really need is an ex wife who doesn’t use my sons as weapons or as a means of financial gain)
This morning I want to thank you all for being so helpful yesterday. I was ready to throw it all in …and I am old enough to know better. Anyway you all helped me so much. I am going to do some more work and give it all some more thought. Thank you very much.
DAY 1 of 7. The sun is shining beautifully here to kick off our week of ‘sunshine’. My slate is now wiped clean and my journal has a brand new page. I will not blot my copy book this week.
So my goal this week is to replace red wine with a fizzy, no calorie, summer drink to accompany all those chilled soups and salads. All suggestions welcome. I have also taken out of the wardrobe my ‘top of the future’. I bought it several months ago but have never worn it. It’s lovely and summery, floaty sleeves and pink. It was very slightly snug around the hips when I bought it but I’m not even going to try it on until I reach my ‘lowest weight for years’ again.
Look forward to some company for the next seven days …. just seven days!
Thanks mixnmatch…26 pounds is amazing!
