Loved the Shaun the sheep race.
I have the figure of one of the other sheep, and
If I was a sheep in the race, I would have been eating the grass in front of jump one!!!

Shall we have a day of laughter and jokes?
It will exercise our giggle muscles.

Sadly can’t think of any jokes atm…you have to tell them right!!

    Hi Lucia
Love the post. Ok plateaus always found after a hill climb!!! So for me I always plateau after a weight loss as my weight has gone down my plateaus have lengthened. However I have jump started them a little with a bit of a treat!!! I have significantly upped my fat and very slightly dropped my carbs still feel full but have continued to lose my longest plateau was 3 weeks very very boring and frustrated. So I have berries 2-3 times a week now not everyday, stopped my oranges ( during weight loss will add in again when at goal) , carbs from splash of milk, green veg ,cabbage ,courgette , salad ,and a few cherry toms, added a bit of butter to my eggs in the morning. So Iam following bsd but occasionally tweaking the fats . Also like you added exercise, I walk 2 hrs a day (dogs) and cycle 2-3 times a week . This made a difference for me seemed counter intuitive but looked it up research wise. I have lost 25 pounds and have 26 pounds to go. 🚴🐾🙋🏻🍓🍗🌶 best wishes collie

Okay team.we are going off the plateau.
    I need volunteers.
    A. Someone to sort the food, wrap in cling film.
    B. Someone to put all the deckchairs and windbreakers away
    C. Someone to remove the lights and decorations in boxes in the loft?

Now that we have tidied up, on with the plan.

So, no one eat for 30 minutes.
Let’s take the time to pLan the meals.
    Sort a little exercise.

Now all we have to do is…..
    Do it

    Or gained a few pounds
    Or just want to start…..

Let’s do 5000 steps , split it over the whole day
Or exercise for 60 minutes over the whole day.
    And
    Don’t eat the junk food…..

I know it easier to avoid all the above.
I know you haven’t got time
    I know
But look at the shape of me.
I want to be slimmer, fitter, healthier, better.

The plateau is nicely tidied and I have hosed it down. Let’s leave the plateau for the next set of BSD’ers. Lucia this is such a good idea.

I have had a breakfast shakeup and am just having fruit for a few days. I don’t eat between meals and I am often having a long abstinence between evening meal and breakfast.

With the Olympics about to start we must now become Team Lucia going for GOLD.

    Right team BSD
Let us work out what we are going to do.
So, how about the opening ceremony.
When you see a flag from any country, you have to either stand up or lift one leg up.
When you see a fancy dress costume you have to wiggle something, hips, bum, moustach, eyebrows.
When you see a firework, you have to lift one or both of your arms as high as you can go.

When you see your countries team, stand up, turn around and sit down.

We will get one hell of a work out.

Just pace yourself invade it’s on for six hours 😈😈😈😈😈😈

    You all up for it?

    Now, when the games begin,
When they do the long jump , you have to jump.
When they run, can you jog on the spot, or walk around the room, BUT, and this is most important… You have to walk the same direction as the athletes.
When they row, pretend you are rowing on the settee.
When they shoot targets, you have to lift your arms and pretend too.
When they play football, you have to pull your sweater over your head and pretend you are an airplane with your arms out. Line the footballers when they have scored a goal.

Oh and you must wear something bright, as we are all in Rio!

    You getting the pattern?

Come on, let’s all have a go.
Just be careful, listen to your body.

Love the idea of the Olympics moves.
Will definitely try that when I have time to watch.

Played tennis last night and my Fitbit thingy did that weird vibrate-thing that always confuses during an important point.
I came bottom of the entire tournament apparently but did 142 active minutes so I count that as a win.

My friend is having a family BBQ today with Olympic-inspired races.
Well sack/obstacle and fancy dress races.
Everyone is really competitive apparently but she is great fun so I can’t see it being that serious.

Let’s get into the Rio Carnival spirit…..on that little ledge just below the plateau. I’m off to find my Maracas.

Re Fish & Chips – it’s do-able with care – we’re lucky in that neither of us really likes the batter, so we strip that off and share a regular portion of chips – it really isn’t terribly naughty if you watch the carbs for the rest of the day.

    Hi
I just sat and watched the telly programme called fixing dad

    I love it was honest
    Real people
Dad was so cranky and set in his ways.
The boys always checking their phones.
    His feet condition
When he got the Tumour in his kidney, when the nurse doing the scan quietly asked for the camera to be switched off, I cried.
    The doctors all discussing diets.
The doctors seem to fall into categories in my opinion, the ones who say the bsd menu is the way to go.
The othe doctors say, ooh, maybe, possibly, No data, etc.

So team, ( and I at this with respect and love) if that cranky old bugger can turn his diabetes around, so can we.

    Watch it for inspiration.

And let us all renew our vows to ourselves and each other.

So today 10,000 steps. And 60 mins of exercise
    Cut the junk,
    Cut the carbs
Stick 800 cals in my mouth not a calorie more.
    Be happy and sing.

    Come on, you with me?

Why can’t we women do it?

    And for the boys,
If that dad can do it , why can’t you?

Check each step, each bite. Each moment
Just think before you automatically do it.

    Come on team

Let’s Go for it and fix us.

So, I have read that you can get symptoms in the first fortnight as you don’t eat carbs, you get flu like symptoms.

Let me ask you a question..do you want to be healthy for life…. But you have to feel, tired, achy, snotty for a few days.
    Or
You can be ill and maybe have serious or fatal problems but keep eating junk and carbs.

So how can you get through this tricky period?
Maybe the first week have carbs every other day for a week.
Or only have half you usual carbs for a week.
Both, reducing them in the first week, then getting rid of most of them in the second week.

    Any good? Just a suggestion.

I couldn’t cope with being ill for a week and work full time.

So, another change in the body when starting th diet, is the bathroom department.

I found that as I wasn’t eating loads, my donations were. Small and slow.

I found that having. Loads of water all day and evening, my donations would march on.

I have read some people take a. Very mild Senna tablet in the first week, but I don’t recommend that. I would be afraid of being caught short.

So , plenty of water. Is my suggestion.

Sorry for the delicate subject, but for those on the first few days, it can be worrying.

After two days, I wanted to automatically, unconsciously , go back to my bad eating habits.

It just seemed easier to grab a packet of biscuits, a bag of crisps, etc and sit down and munch.

I had to make a real effort into planning my meals in advance.
If I had the munchies, have a bit of scrambled egg.
    Or an apple and cheese
    Mushrooms
    Bit of salad
A slice of boiled ham rolled in a tube, so I felt as if I was biting something, not grazing.
    Anything but the junk food.

I fought with myself many, many times, I had to keep watching what I was doing, like I was two different people.

    But

    The effort is worth it.

    Menu
    Was another one for me.

As I don’t have a brain, I decided to eat the same things until I got bored, by then I would have read the book and read the website and the blogs.

So yoghurt and berries for breaky

    Chicken or ham salad lunch

Chicken fish and veggies for tea.

Tons of water to fill me up.

Then , when I got bored, I would change it up.
There was one day that I had salad for breakfast, this was a total shock as I didn’t think I would survive without cornflakes or wheatabix for breakfast.

    Just another thought.

I was just having a look back. To avoid the carb flu I think it would be good to concentrate on the 800 cals to start with and then gradually reduce the carbs. That’s what I did to start with and now I am so low carb I can’t believe it! No pasta, no potatoes, no rice, no bread – and I’m cutting out the chocolate too! This is unheard of!!

Lucia? Have you ever tried not having breakfast? So you have a mini fast of 16:8? That’s what I do. I finish eating at 8pm and don’t eat until some time between 12 and 1. Its so easy now 😉

I often have brunch instead of breakfast – depends what I’m doing though. If I’m being fairly active, I find proper breakfast (egg!) I’m less likely to snack – or feel the need to.
I saw (or heard?) a program last week that was measuring the impact of not having breakfast on concentration and work performance – indicated better to have it, but was a bit irritated because although they had two control groups, there wasn’t any element to the test to compare those who habitually ate breakfast to those that didn’t – it was just the impact on the day of testing.

Don’t know what’s going on – about a dozen fire engines have just rushed past the flat (I live on a corner by traffic lights, so any emergency vehicles make their presence known!
