Hi Scot gran i will look for the spreadsheet later this evening.

I went for a wander in the ‘what have you ate today’ blog.
I thought the normal portion of yoghurt was a tablespoon, people there are having a whole small pot. I had a lightbulb moment.

Am going to look for the ploughmans lunch , it sounds good. May have that at the end of the week.

Also, I am going to try some mince or a small steak, just to see how I get on. I prefer chicken though.

    I am learning.

My weight starts with a 13 instead of a 14
    13 stone 13.5 pounds.

You see, I put weight on and didn’t give in, I could have stopped and stuffed myself. But, I wanted a size 12 more than a ton of chocolate.
Today I am going to be unbearable. I have a big grin on my face.

    How was your day?

Thanks for holding my hand and getting me through the last few days.

Lucia, wonderful news – those of us who have been there knew it would happen but it’s hard to believe it will resolve when it first happens. Isn’t it marvelous when the stones reading drops by one? It has happened to me twice on this diet, it left me feeling ecstatic! Before you know it your scales will show you a number beginning with a 12st…. Then an 11st…..
Can’t wait to see you post those results!

We’ve had people on here celebrate being overweight!! The rest of the world may not get it, but we do. To move from the obese to the overweight category is a great achievement.
Getting under the 14st mark is worth a round of applause from us all. Keep knocking those pounds down!!

You put on 1/4 LB -? I doubt it. I think the scales are faulty, probably a bad reading.

I tried half a dozen last night. Nearly went into the garage for a saw. !!!!!!!!

Walking to the bus this morning I noticed birds called starlings. They have oily, shiny feathers that glisten a rainbow of colours in the sun. They remind me of Teddy Boys 😎

Hi Lucia, so proud of your achievement and it is such a psychological milestone to get into the lower stone bracket, hopefully will be joining you soon. Went out for lunch today and ordered prawn and salmon salad, told them to leave off the potato salad, homemade coleslaw and Marie Rose sauce! How much of a goody 2 shoes are hubby and I!

Woke up this morning feeling so full of energy which is something I haven’t felt in toooo long, potted some herbs (cooking kind) and I am even starting to get bored playing scrabble or watching to and have an itch to get out there and do something slightly energetic, haven’t quite started the fitness kick but a bit like Christmas its on its way! Hopefully not that long though! Having a knee replacement at the end of August so any low impact exercise tips would be appreciated.

    Hi team,
Will go to H and B on Saturday, you can’t rush these things.

Cat girl, you see, you ARE doing great. Who needs sauces etc, when you are out. You don’t know what’s in them either. If I go out in the future, I will try and keep it plain and simple. I go for the company not the food.
If you are getting a new knee, try different exercises such as arms, bingo wings, shoulders, back, even squeezing bum cheeks is still an exercise. Now you know what I do at my desk, no one knows, they just thing I have a twitch.

You can leave the knees until they are fixed. If you are only having one knee done, you can always do yoga and try and wrap one leg around your neck. πŸ˜€
Make sure someone else is in the room to unknot you or ring 999 in case you get stuck.😏

I have a few streets to walk home from the bus each night, one of them is a short one, I ran down it, 120 steps non stop, now if only I could remember to breathe…… Getting there.

Well gang, are there any parks or paths near you?
I challenge every one of you to walk this weekend for 30 minutes, even if you break it up by sitting on a bench or wall. Walk up and down your garden or yard, or street, or to the local shops, or around the block. If anyone asks where you are going and you need a reason, just say you are just popping out for a friend….
Do it for me, or for you, let me know one thing that you saw, heard or even sniffed.

We are all changing, one pound at a time

I am thinking of going to Bon marche, and have a look at the next size down, maybe hold it up against my waist, see how much I need to go. Thinking of something floral.
When I settle to a target size, and maintain it, I will go to the expensive shops like m&s and go giddy.
To wander around meadow hell. Sorry meadow hall shopping centre at Sheffield. When the weight is off. I could be interested in that.
Found some second hand cow bells or cattle bells, the weird shaped weights. Thinking of using the lightest ones, to get rid of my bingo wings. I will go steady, and easy. Don’t want to launch the weight into space by mistake.

We need to count our calories.
How many calories in a swoon?

I have been out and about walking yesterday and today.
Had steak last night and chicken today. Asked for a slice of toast, I cut it in half, ready to enjoy it , took a bite and didn’t enjoy it. So I passed it on.

Seems the stuff I couldn’t live without, I can’t live with now, that’s great. I am really happy over it. So I am now ready to explore other foods. My life is really evolving now.

It’s been cloudy today, but have noticed birdies with twigs in their beaks, ready to build, without planning permission. Anyone notice this going on?

    Hi snoopy 73,
    Many thanks,
I get a kick when people reply on my threads. I just ramble on to myself and love having someone comment. Other people’s blogs give me a different angle on life and make me think of things totally different.
I have been on the BS800 for only a short time, but it feels like years. At the beginning, (last week) I was panicking and weighing my self many times a day then leaving it for a while.
Today, my mind set isn’t one of someone frantic to check the scales. I know I have done my best to lose weight.
This week, I have tested myself with “old foods”, I was suprised to find my addiction is broken. Just in a few days.

So this week, week two, I am going to explore the taboo subjects of exercise. I would never have thought I could do anything like exercise as I was so out of condition. In just walking and doing tiny runs, and surviving them – makes me feel I can go to the next level. I May even go around to one of those clubs for skinny people, like think the technical name is gym. What should I wear to camouflage the blubber, bet I get put with a sknny Minnie. See , I have self doubt already. So I just need to find one and see if they will let me try them out.

How is everyone? Have you done your walk yet for me? There is still plenty of time today to do it.

I am going to plan my weekly meals soon, so I don’t just grab anything but the house has been cleared bad stuff. I am going to get ideas from the ‘what have you eaten today’ blogs.

I am also going to have another wander through this website as there are so many hidden treasures.

Finally, how is everyone’s Equinox today? I didn’t feel a thing did you? Wikipedia says it is when the earth goes through the sun? I didn’t feel it going through, it didn’t get to a zillion degrees here? Maybe it is because I am lighter than I didn’t feel it? If you didn’t feel it either it means you are lighter too. 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

Keep happy, keep with the BS800,

    Hi captain Lynn,

Love the swoon equals the calories in the mouse! ( this was just banter, I am not going out looking for a mouse and taking it to bears camp. No mice were harmed making this blog.)

The reason I mention what I am experiencing as I walk, is to show others just driving in cars, they are missing so much. It gives you something to do as you walk. I hope others get out and enjoy just being there.

I have had a wander through the website. Saw a few things…

Should I call it the bathroom department. I too stopped for a couple of days, used a tablet, got up to date, then stopped again. I found that on day three, my body just went naturally. I think it may be something to do with the volume. Or lack of it. I too have loads of water so it wasn’t that. I think it was just the change over. If I hadn’t taken the tablet I may have gone the next day.
Others say flaxseed, help the process of going.

Weight loss stopped. This happened to me, or actually it was a weight gain. I think of my weight as a personality. I stuffed it for years, then I took that away without saying anything. No wonder there was a pause. My weight didn’t know what was happening, so just held onto everything to be I the safe side. After a few days, it realised, oh she’s changed what she is giving me, ok fine, off we go again, and the weight came off.

Set backs. Mine was massive over 1/4 of a pound ( yes , that old chestnut.) be kind to your scales, I spoilt mine by putting a new battery in πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ ( plus a few threats). Maybe sometimes it is not you, it is the other thing. Like it needed a new battery.

    Keep exploring the website.

Hi Lucia, I managed 2 hours walking around furniture stores yesterday with my son and daughter in law looking for furniture for their new house so if I subtract the time sat sitting on sofas I should have managed to clock up 30 minutes walking!

Just about recovered from swooning over hunks on the to and drooling over mouse gratin and now planning menus for next week, looking forward to the big weigh in and measure tomorrow morning and hopefully posting some good news! Can’t believe how quickly our 1st week has gone and how much I have actually enjoyed the BSD! Crazy or what😜

It doesn’t feel like a diet but a whole new outlook on living.

I have noticed the spring flowers and wildlife as we get so many lovely 2 and 4 legged ones in our garden. Planted out some new bushes and flowers this morning to add to the spring colours and also growing herbs to add flavour to our meals.

Captainlynne, I could ask my cats the answer to the mouse calorie question but probably wouldn’t get a coherent answer, they are however in great condition so calories probably quite low!

Keep up the good work everyone and hoping to equal Lucias Oscar acceptance speech tomorrow, good excuse for a new frock!

    Hello Lucia,

I too like reading your posts too.

You would be proud of me today, I did 2 walks! The first one wasn’t planned as such. I went to my normal spa hotel place for my swim/jacuzzi/steam etc. But since i’d done my housework (ironing and wotnot) by 8am I went then. the car park, which isn’t small by the way, was rammed. Most unusual, I had to park right down the bottom, I may as well left the car at home. Anyway, the receptionist said that Channel 4 were filming there, hence all the cars and vans/lorries. So, I must have done most of my 10000 steps just going to the spa from the CP!

Then when I got home 2 hours later, it was too nice to stay in, so went to the nearby park and wandered along by the river. I picked some of what we called pussy willow, don’t know if that’s it’s proper name. And I saw a few grey squirrels too. I love this time of year, the gardens are waking up and we have it all to look forward to.

I don’t know if you count it, but i’ve also done 3 sessions on my vibration plate thingy. My fitbit thing racks up steps on it, so I’m counting it!

What a change in us both.
We are both moving about, on the right track for eating, and enjoying the fresh air.
Your garden will look beautiful with the planting you have done.

I have been for my salad stuff, feta, fish, chicken etc. My shopping trolley contents has changed so much from what I used to get. If I keep like this I will be wearing open toes sandals soon.

What do you think the next little challenge should be?

How about three minutes of dancing each night this week?
Three minutes should be the length of a song?
Should fit in , in the adverts section of the telly.
Your own style of dancing, even if it is crazy wiggles.
It can be done, in the lounge, kitchen, bedroom or in a locked bathroom.
Shall we give it a go?

We should all sleep tonight with the fresh air.

    Hi Hashimoto and cat girl,

I hope my mutterings will get a few more people off the settee, away from the telly and outside into the spring.
It was such a beautiful day today, I don’t want anyone to miss it.

Yup, I shall be boogy ing to various tunes. I am tone deaf , don’t know the words, don’t know the tunes, but I shall sing them as loud as I can get away with πŸ΅πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰πŸ™Š
I am hoping singing too, will burn a calorie an hour. What do you estimate?

I have to be careful when I am hoovering , once I get my blubber moving, it doesn’t stop when I do ☺️ But when I am a size 12, there will be no movement, just clean carpets.
It’s a pity wobbling doesn’t burn calories or I would be there now.
But I am not impatient. Mid May will come soon enough.

Lucia you are definitely getting better weather than me – the day started in such a promising way and then I was surprised by rain while pottering in the greenhouse – didn’t stop me – or the ‘ weeds in wheels shoot long and lovely and lush’ (straight from my favourite nature poet G.M. Hopkins) nor the birds from singing but oh I do wish for a day of sunshine – the only ones we had lately was while I was in bed with that ghastly bug last week πŸ™
I noticed when I saw newspaper headlines on the news this morning that there was a reverse diabetes supplement in the paper – but like you I think I have everything I need in Dr Mosley’s book and I’m sticking with it
    Have a good week πŸ™‚

Yesterday I went for a walk. Saw a road closed sign, ignored it assuming the walking bit was open. Wrong! Consulted a dog walker, set off through a marshy field, then into a wood, got snarled in brambles. One tree looks much like another so I had a bit of a problem retracing my steps. I actually ended up further away than when I went into the wood. Anyway my one hour walk in the sunshine ended up being a two and a half hour yomp through mud and thorns.

    Hi Hashimoto,

Thrush’s eggs look little low heavens, and thrush
Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring
    The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;
The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush
With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.

    From what I can remember,
