  • Hi everyone!,

Happy new year to you all, it’s been weeks since I’ve posted, think I was avoiding having to coming to terms with I’ve wandered off the path but caught up with everyone’s news.
Wendy and everyone thank you for keeping everything going I always knew you all would be here when I faced reality.
Sg so pleased you got to see your family all be it with being a little apprehensive.
Elle-mae glad you are out of isolation and sounds like you’ve done well, apart from the eye 😉
Lauren you are in the wars, hope you are ok, take it easy and get the last few days of rest in before going back.
Tulip I am with you, things creeping in and then bam, it’s weeks later jeans are let’s say snug.
It’s been lovely to read the positives of Christmas and although my boys are getting older and Christmas is different it’s great to spend time with family who we don’t see through the year.
So I’ve lost my way, found a could have small pieces of cake and still maintain but felt as I’d already lost 2 and a half stone that I needed to settle for a bit, enjoy new clothes and feel comfortable in my new size as still felt I looked the same as before. But then Christmas came and all the temptations and stress to make it a happy one for everyone and long story short, 11 lbs on, but after feeling dreadful for weeks, got to get back on it. BS is good, cholesterol doesn’t seem to have moved from 5.4 since I started back in June so I’m hoping restarting, getting another couple of stone off, getting me into a healthy bmi and cholesterol will go down.
I’ve also shrank so back into the obese category on the bmi chart which was depressing but hey ho I know it’s not accurate but something to aim for.
So long winded but it’s my accountability post and I’m sure I’ll be checking in regularly again to share advice and motivation.
    Xx

I’ll kick the thread off with my Easter goals.

I started the BSD back in January 2017. 5 years ago now! At that time I weighed 175lb and had a long term weight loss goal of 133lb. Since then I have come tantalisingly close to it a couple of times, but am currently around 146-147lb. I also started running during the first lockdown and was doing well up till around April last year, so I want to get back into that as it was making a positive difference in various ways.

    So my Easter goals are:

To lose 1 stone and finally make it to 133lb.
To complete 1 million steps – 10000 per day.

I’m feeling excited and very positive about these challenges and have just ordered Michael Mosley’s new book Fast 800 Keto. The tag line is”Eat well, burn fat, manage your weight long-term” – so here’s hoping!

I’m going to use this Bank Holiday weekend to get myself organised, and hopefully do a couple of long walks and maybe even a reboot run. Then will start in earnest on Tuesday 4th January – interestingly exactly 5 years to the day of my initial 8 weeks on the Blood Sugar Diet. At that stage I really didn’t think I’d stick to it but I’m still here! And a big part of that is the friendships and support of this forum. Looking forward to continuing this in 2022 X

So here we are – 2022. Let’s hope this year has some good things in store.

And if you have weight loss goals that you want to achieve this year, why not join this 100 day Journey to Easter? This is the follow on thread from Countdown to Christmas, in which a group of us banded together for a virtual bus tour and had lots of fun and banter whilst providing much needed mutual support for our weight loss goals.

Easter is the weekend of 15th/17th April, so if you want to do the full 100 days you’ll need to start your journey sometime this week. But anyone is welcome to hop on or off at any stage.

We’d love to see friends old and new on the thread. Everyone is welcome – the more the merrier! We guarantee some good company and promise to help you work towards your goals in whatever way we can.

  • So pleased you got home ok sunshinegirl and had a nice Christmas despite the stress, it is all very stressful over here at the moment!

Never fear Wendy I’m resting – my body definitely said “enough”, I’m still recovering from my perforated ear drum and I had a bad fall caused by dizzy spells today which ended up in a trip to a+e – fortunately nothing broken except my pride but believe me I’m listening!! I got back on track with eating on Monday and am doing ok so far but that’s probably helped by lack of appetite!!

    Tulip hope you are ok!

Verano too and well done on your fab set of results!

Elle-Mae oh no sounds awful!! Hope you’re ok!

Happy new year to one and all, may 2022 be all that you want and better than 2021, look forward to catching up next week xx

    Love to all

Happy New Year all – though those of us in the UK still have a few hours to go 😊

I’ll set up the new thread tomorrow, and probably jump on board on Tuesday 4th. I’m thinking about 100 day Journey to Easter as a possible title. I like the idea of a 100 day challenge as a real motivator!

Enjoy your celebrations everyone, and here’s to a happy, healthy and fulfilling 2022 X

Only one positive for me today..
*~ Lovely mild sunny day! Beau fed the ducks while I had a wash and blow dry, then we went to the seaside. It was packed! A lovely holiday vibe in the air, everyone happy and everyone in the shops and the place where we had lunch wearing masks. Went to a massive wine supermarket, really enjoyed a browse and bought some fizz, gin, and beers.
Happy 2022 everybody🥳🥳🥳🥳365 new days,365 new opportunities to have a fantastic day ! 🥳🥳🥳🥳 xx
I’ve got a feeling this coming year will be full of promise and a BiG improvement on the previous two. But we got through it ,and are all the stronger for it,and even more appreciative than before for the little things that mean so much xx

  • I’m glad you managed to negotiate your time away S-G and got over all the bumps along the way. I ate as I wanted on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Then back on 5:2, only put on 3lbs and have lost 1 1/2 of it, but off to OH’s Mum’s tomorrow so will indulge again and the hopefully back to woe.

I managed to accidentally poked myself in my eye with a rather long fingernail and now have a ‘delightful’ red eye, the entire white bit looks like it is full of blood (I am turning zombie 🤣)

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and wishing you all a Happy New Year 🎉

  • Hi everyone, arrived home safely yesterday evening. Had to do a quick shop as we are in isolation for at least 4 days. Technically 2 days then released on negative test but 48 hours for us is New Years Day so no covid test centres open, nor on the Sunday, so Monday for us. We have been told to expect the gendarmes to come knocking on day 2 but surely they will realise….. Anyway, we will go in on Monday morning as it is not a holiday in France.

It was lovely to be with family but the stress of having covid all around us was terrible. Daughters step child was in the house isolating in her bedroom for 10 days (before the rules changed poor kid), second child went to a massive party with her mother and was brought back to daughters house. Couple of days later mother came down with covid so my daughter had 3 extra kids over Christmas. Worried to death that party girl would test positive at some point and we had been in contact. Just too much stress in keeping safe and needing to be negative to get home. I wont go into the errors on our return antigen tests and only 2 hours to rectify them and house sitters leaving 2 days early and us having to find someone to come in to feed cats. Not a happy girl right now and looking forward to a chilled Prosecco later and catch up TV for a week.

The way I feel right now I never want to go away again. Hopefully I will be over it by Easter.

Only had a weight gain of 2lbs and hoping not to do too much damage by the time the new thread starts on Tuesday – thanks to Wendy. Will get weighed Tues morning and set a new target.

Hope you are all keeping well and have a lovely New Year.

Hello friends, just jumping on to say Happy New Year to you all 🙂
What a year 2021 has been and I wonder what 2022 has in store for us?
I weighed in this morning at 89.9kg, so 1.9kg away from from my 2021 goal of 88 – the closest I got to this was 88.8 in mid November. Never mind though – when I look back on the year I have ended it 10.2kg (or over 22lb) less than when I started… I also lost 46cm (or 18/19 inches) from my bust/waist/hips & thighs so it was actually quite a successful year for me personally, thanks in no small way to the support, encouragement and friendship of everyone on here 🙂
I have a new goal in mind for 2022 but I’ll post that on our new thread 🙂
In the meantime, thank you all for your support in 2021, Happy New Year, stay safe and see you on the other side in 2022 where it’s all about YOU 🙂 👍🥳 🍾

  • Hi V ! Yes you are right …I think I had got used to being pretty much “in control ” Sounds terrible to talk about “control “doesn’t it but I got complacent ! I do agree that we have to allow a bit of flexibility and we know how to get back on track.

I heard that the new Fast 800 keto focused more on protein which does seem to feature in keto programmes the more I read. I think we know what works so I am not sure we need to be overloaded with a lot more information but I will check for tips and recipes.

We will definitely keep the weekly thread active,V and will start next Tuesday 4th January.

Enjoy the New Year celebrations and stay safe everyone xx

No this isn’t the wrong place! All of the people on this forum follow some sort of low carb way of eating. Take a look at some of the ‘weekly’ threads which have a huge mix of people …. oldies following low carb for 5+ years down to new joiners just like you. You have taken the first step to a healthier life …. enjoy !

  • Hi.
Just popping in to say thanks to Wendy, SunnyB and sunshine-girl for keeping this thread going in 2021. … roll on 2022! …. and hopefully more weekly threads.
Wendy I’m listening to the Audible version of the book which he narrates himself. I’m finding it interesting but not really a great deal new apart from the emphasis, which seems to now be on protein. Anyway, it keeps the mind focused.

Wendy I think that when we follow this WOL there are times when holidays happen, food is consumed ( and hopefully enjoyed) that doesn’t ‘fit’, but we know that we just have to get back on the ‘horse’. We all fall off, and hopefully enjoy the ‘fall’, and then get back on and resume ‘normal service’! That’s life ….it doesn’t run in a straight line!

Please keep the weekly threads going and longer ones can always be added as and when.
Just want to wish everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR … 2022 WILL, as the Beatles sang, 🎶🎶be better, better, better, better 🎶🎶🎶

    Hello.
Hope everyone is enjoying their festivities and/or peace and quiet.
Yowzer love the idea of hitting the stars if you miss the moon… in fact I think I prefer the stars anyway!
Sunny glad you’re having good ‘family time’ together we’ve all missed that lately….. but …. there’s always tomorrow.
    I do have a few positives …..

    1. 🪴🎋🎍My amaryllis is still going strong although I did have a scare a few days ago. I woke up to find my beautiful plant drooping looking as sad as if it has just spent a wet weekend in Bognor! (There are other places that would be just as miserable for a wet weekend!) Anyway, I loosely tied it to a stake and moved it into a sunnier spot. It’s thriving again with a flower bud just starting to open!
    2. 🖋📚📕I’ve started a new journal to add to my current collection. I decided to keep track of all the things I should do on a daily basis ….. drink water, tea, coffee, practice Spanish, meditate, read the newspaper. I hope to tick off each of these tasks everyday and add more. It’s amazing how easy it is to not find ‘time’ for even the quickest of tasks.
3.🖥🎧📖 Listening to MM’s new book on Audible. Interesting. This book seems to be concentrating on protein so far. He reads the text himself and it’s quite enjoyable to listen to but as we know only too well …. you have to ‘stick’ with the plan to win!

And so we’ve almost arrived at the end of another year …. may not have been the best but we’re on the verge of a New Year, a New Start, with new hope…. Let’s hope it’s a good one!
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but is there a forum for the fast 800 Keto – received the book about an hour ago and literally nearly half way through, would love to connect with people who are going to give it a go!

  • Hi Clare..yes…lateral flow tests are the new handshake it seems 🙄. Cases are rocketing in France too. Trying not to get too stressed and carry on hoping things will settle. No change for school kids and as a former teacher I can understand the concern for staff who are in close contact with young children.

The festivities are virtually over for us . Just one celebratory meal on Sunday with friends . I had a shocking realisation this year that the sugar monster still lurks and has not been annihilated. Mince pies,Christmas cake, cheesecake …all home made and consumed in excess. That never happened over the last Christmases….I just never bothered but maybe this is another feature of stress/comfort eating I have to be constantly aware of.

So it’s a wake up call for me. As I suspected I am still an over eater and sugar addiction is real.
What works for me is a fasting reset period which I am doing now. I have received my copy of the Fast 800 keto on my kindle and I don’t expect to learn anything ground breaking but it’s good motivation.
I haven’t weighed myself as I go by how my clothes feel and my jeans are getting snug.
So back to basics for me. I know what works and I recognise the dangers of denial and complacency.

I will set up the new thread next week (Tuesday )
Shall we stick with the weekly format or does anyone want a longer target..2 weeks ,a month ? Let me know. There will probably be another longer countdown to ..type thread running too.

I hope you are enjoying this time, spending time with people you love to be with, resting (Lauren !!) and staying safe

Looking forward to getting back in touch with you all. Hope SG gets back safely and hassle free . !

    My positives…
*~ It’s Twixmas my favourite time and I’ve learnt two new names for it today..” Chrimbo Limbo” and “ Winterval”🙂🙃
*~ Went out to get LF tests..got one kit and one for DD and SIL..at the third chemist I tried ( I phoned round) You have to get a code now in order to get a kit and can only have a kit for a max of two h’ holds at a time
*~ On way home,I waved to tiny little Chinese boys sitting in a window looking out.. Their big smiles and happy waves back made my day! XX
*~ Noticed a local school has a great motto “ Aim high and smile” 😀😁😃 Totally agree! Aim for the moon and if you miss, you’ll land among the stars! 🌟⭐️🌟And keep smiling,it makes people wonder what you’ve been up to! 🥰

Thought I’d drop by with a few positives, to keep our positives thread ticking over ….
🎉 lovely day yesterday, with three of our offspring visiting with grandchildren. Real delight to get to spend time all together after such a long time.
🎉 aga has been giving us a headache, thankfully the supermarkets were open yesterday, so I could cater a cold buffet instead of cooking.
🎉 my lovely OH, who having done battle with said aga, now has it up to temp so I can use it to cook this evening.
Whatever your positives have been, if you have a moment please share one or two of them with us here.

    My positives..
*~ Shared lovely food and swapped presents, had some nice drinks and lots of laughs.. What more can you ask of a day! Ate plenty but didn’t go overboard and was told I looked like I had lost weight! ( Better than any Xmas gift to hear that)
*~ Looking forward to tomorrow..a walk and some games..and more festive fare!
*~ Must share the letter SILs nephew left for Santa. “ Dear Father Christmas, please come upstairs. My room is the fourth door on the left. I think I’ve been pretty good this year” isn’t that sweet! We thought he wd have stopped believing this year, but evidently not
Anyway goodnight/ good morning/ happy Boxing Day! XXXX🎅⛄️🎅⛄️🎅⛄️🎅⛄️

🥳 celebrating with DD and family and OH … all quite laid back, but lovely to be together.
😄 reminiscing and laughing, honouring old and new traditions
🙏 thankful for being able to have time with loved ones, in the warm, with more the enough to eat.

Has been a good day …. hope your Christmas day has been the one you hoped for too.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope🎅 has visited you all & left you loads of good goodies.

Sorry I’ve not been around BUT it’s only been the last couple of days that I could sit down comfortably on one of those cut-out cushions. The diet has gone to pot as I’ve been feeling very rough. Eating lots of veggies still BUT am eating A LOT that I know I shouldn’t. I’d sue that ointment manufacturer for gross negligence & unlawful advertising if I could find their address in the USA. I suspect I’ll just settle for a refund instead on their expensive non ointment.

I had my HbA1c done again on Tuesday. was supposed to ring for the results after 2pm on 24th but forgot. I hope in a way it’s a wake up call for me BUT I’d love for it to be still ‘normal’. Carl & myself are suffering many aches & pains that we’d forgotten about on the diet. That plus the fact that we’d both like to lose at least 1 stone, possibly 2 will be an incentive for us to get back on the New Year bus. We haven’t put on more than a few pounds each YET but we haven’t got through Christmas yet. NOT going to worry about it now, going to over indulge ourselves & then get back on the new bus after the 1st week in January. Got Dr. Mosley’s new book arriving on the 4th as an added incentive to get back on track.

Thank you all for being here & hope you ALL have a wonderful Christmas with your family & friends. We shall just be telephoning & video calling our families BUT hopefully, if not next year, then the following one we can get over to the USA to see them. My family over here I’d dearly also like to see but my Uncle is very frail at nearly 92. my cousins are right gadabouts so steering clear of them because of Carl still basically shielding.

Well done to loads of you for sticking with it & losing. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas & a Happy New Year. I hope we’ll see everyone back on the new 2022 bus.

Happy Christmas everyone – and it very nearly is here in the UK.
Late as ever. So, I weighed myself this morning first thing and I was 9st 3lb which is great. That’s 2lb off since my last weigh-in. Hooray. But my youngest son is home (I’m happy and very appreciative) and we ate a very big meal this evening. All low carb for me, just a lot of it. So, fallen at the first hurdle!
I’ll be joining the bus next year. My goal is to get back to the level of discipline and commitment to this way of life (eating and exercise!) I had when I first started.
It’s been good getting back on the bus and lovely sharing the journey and having everyone’s support. Thank you.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year. See you in 2022.

    Merry Christmas! 🎅
Thanks for your lovely posts DCT, Cathy, Dawn & Yowzer – I can’t believe Christmas Day is here.
I’m still 1.5kg away from my 2021 goal of 88kg but who knows, I may still be able to get closer by the 31st ( I believe in Christmas miracles!). But like you Cathy I’m not stressing about it. I’m looking forward to spending the day with my children. I’m cooking so at least I can keep it healthy, well relatively!
A funny thing happened with my online grocery order, about 3 bags were missing, the ones with cheeses, nuts, chips/crisps, and chocolates in them. I have arranged a refund but didn’t worry about going out on Xmas Eve to buy more..i was annoyed at first but then thought maybe the bags were delivered to someone who needs them more than I do, or the Universe is helping me stay on track!
I’ll be booking a seat on the bus for our next trip for sure as I would really love to lose another 10kg at least.

Thank you all for your support and friendship this year, it has really helped me stay (mostly!) on track. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas & New Year, stay safe and see you on the 3rd!

Merry Christmas to you lovely people.I hope you all have a great time whatever you are doing.I’ve decided not to weigh myself as know this bus trip hasn’t gone as planned for me but I’m definitely going to be ready to hop back on board on 3rd Jan with you all.A big well done to anyone who has managed to lose any weight on this trip and to those who haven’t or who aren’t sure, like myself, let’s make the next bus trip the one where we finally reach our goals and maintain them.
My sister and I visited my Dad this afternoon,it was lovely to see him but he was in a very paranoid mood, bless him,so it was impossible to have a normal conversation with him.He was quite sleepy so hopefully he was in a different mood and less anxious after a nice sleep. We have another visit booked for next week.Just have some housework to do tonight which DH is helping with,DD is FaceTiming with her friends.Presents all wrapped and I’m hoping to have an early night as have been awake since 3.30 (woke and couldn’t get back to sleep)this morning so pretty tired. My Mum is coming round tomorrow morning and staying for the day and M-i-l and F-i-l are coming round in the evening,we won’t be having a massive amount to eat as none of them are very big eaters so hopefully I won’t over indulge too much!Sending love to you all.Dawn X

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and looking forward to seeing you all aboard the January Bus. Thank you Dreamscometrue for offering to set up the January thread, I will be glad to jump on board on 3rd January. I left it too late to reboot last year and paid the price.

I did have a sneaky weigh yesterday and weighed 146 but today I was 147 so I am happy with that. I won’t be jumping on the scales now until Friday 7th January. I am learning to be more forgiving and less demanding and my new year resolution is to learn how to live in the moment. I am feeling inspired for 2022 and have ordered the MM keto book and will use all my knowledge and wisdom from the last five years to aim for my healthy weight goal of 138 lb.

Have a wonderful break everyone and see you at the bus stop in January. Stay safe everyone and enjoy. We have lots to look forward to and let’s draw a line under what has been for some of us a very difficult year.

Merry Christmas to all my lovely friends,

I don’t mind what date we start, but I know I probably won’t jump aboard til 4 th Jan

Hello everyone. Just dropping by to wish you all the very best for Christmas wherever you are in the world.

To those who have been on the Christmas Bus, I have so enjoyed your company. And well done to those who have lost weight and moved towards their goals.

Cathy mentioned a January bus, and I’m definitely up for it too. I hope that many others will join. I’m happy to set up the thread unless someone else wants to? I like Cathy’s suggestion of running till Easter. I could set up a new thread from Saturday January 1st (or Monday 3rd, if that works better) to run until Easter weekend – Friday 15th – Sunday 17th April. Let me know your thoughts?

Lots of love to anyone reading this, and I hope to keep in touch with you on our new thread in 2022 X

  • Fabulous results Verano and Tulip.
Merry Christmas to all, have a great time wherever and whoever you can be with this year.
Today is the day of all the big prep, so that tomorrow is just putting things into and out of the oven at the appropriate times. Yes, I will be indulging but only for 2 days then back to this woe.
Thank you Wendy, S-G and Sunny for this thread, 🎄🎄🎄🎄

  • Thank you Wendy, Lauren and Elle-Mae 😍😍😍! I don’t know how I missed replies coming in- Wendy, yes, I have grown in width as well as weight but still not into the medium or large clothes I have bagged up to go- the ones on the smaller side of what I fit into at 9 st I’m not trying to squeeze into but I have plenty that do fit….particularly of the leggings and loose tunic-y dress style I like best at this time of year any way…..
Thank you so much Wendy, S-G and Sunny for keeping us going with these threads- I really appreciate it!

Happy Christmas everyone, love to all xxxxx

  • Fantastic results, V !!! Like SG, your commitment has truly paid off and you are proof that this way of eating really does work . You are both an absolute inspiration .

I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy Christmas if you are celebrating . I hope your plans have not been too disrupted with soaring cases and uncertainty . Thinking of you if you can’t be where you want to be and with your loved ones.

For those of you who have been working hard, time to rest up folks , hopefully not running around bleery eyed and stressed . You need to wind down !!!

We have 3 guests coming tomorrow so it has meant a Baileys cheese cake I am afraid !!! Full disclosure ! Full reboot will be needed after that indulgence .

Enjoy the time, it’s important to have special moments and memories . Keeping this space open for anyone who wants to pop in .

Stay safe and be happy !

Excellent blood results Verano, you’re definitely proof that this WOE works. And now you know you can afford to relax a little and enjoy some little festive indulgences.
Yowser, glad your SIL has tested negative. Hope his family will soon be fit and well again.
For me it’s been one of those relaxed days, when nothing particular happens …. wonderful, but it does make pinning down specific positives a bit tougher. Anyway …. will give it a go ……
☆ hauled out the good china and the food warmer ready for Saturday, one more thing ticked off the ‘to do’ list.
☆ OH has pushed his diet boundaries a little more today and not had any adverse reactions.
☆ booked flu jab for 29th Dec.
    ☆ beautiful sunset this evening

Okay, well that wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be. Although they manifest almost unnoticed, with a little reflection those positives become evident. Why not take a moment or two to check what yours were today.

Hi all..well done VERANO on those results! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
SUNNY so happy you got to catch up with family and friends..exactly what we want this time of year isnt it!🥳🥳🥳
*~ Nothing to say today except, excited it’s Xmas Eve Eve,and grateful for everything I’m blessed with x
*~ AND to add ..a negative that leads to positives..DDs husband visiting relatives, who have all tested positive, except for DDs hubby and one of his nieces.. the positive being they are not feeling too poorly,so this variant is milder as suggested.
*~ Other positive my pal VERANO pointed out,it means two christmases for us..one now,one when hub out of isolation and comes home.
Have a cool Yule folks and a Proper Crimbo! XXX yayyy it’s chrrrristmas! See you all soon, love and festive hugs xxx

  • Just wanted to pop in and give hope to anyone struggling with T2 or high cholesterol or any other ills that this WOL helps.
💉🩺🎉 Just had telephone appointment with my surgery after diabetes blood tests last week….. ALL IS WELL!
Five and a half years ago I started this WOL and, as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating…. well …HbA1c 36, cholesterol 5.1 but the all important ratio is 2.1 it should be <3.5, all other tests great.
I can’t believe my results given the last couple of years stress, strain and probably not always the best food choices.
    This WoE really does work!
As s-g says you just have to keep on keeping on ………
BTW hope you are having a good time here in the uk s-g.
Happy Christmas everyone and let’s hope 2022 is a better year in every single way.

Hi Cathy – that sounds like pretty good going to me, especially with all the stress and pressure of working in the vaccination centre. When I got my booster the vaccinators were telling me how they thought they’d lose weight because they were miles from any shops but there was no chance because there was always lots of biscuits, chocolates and sweets being brought in. 9lbs is a great loss for this Christmas trip. Well done that woman.
SueBlue – good on you for avoiding those mince pies (always used to be one of my favourite Christmas things) and that sounds like a good plan for the rest of this year. I have my meals planned and some low carb favourites in for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve ‘eve’ and that’ll be it. Yes, same message here about personal responsibility. Not sure what’s happening about any further restrictions in England (clearer in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland I think).
Thanks DCT, I’m a lot better. Your (and SueBlue’s) tree and lights sounds lovely. I’ve looked at them a few times – might buy one next year.
Dawn – hope today (oh, yesterday now) went well – and today does too!
I’m weighing myself on Friday too, so will report in then.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

  • Hi YBR
I thought I’d post a couple of specific links for you to look at in your own time. I think Jason Fung is really good, but when I just put his name into YouTube I realised there are a lot of newer, shorter video clips and I’m not sure what they’re like.
So here are a couple of older longer lectures of his.
How to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally | Jason Fung – YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAwgdX5VxGc
Two Big Lies about Type 2 Diabetes – YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcLoaVNQ3rc
They both cover the same ground just to different audiences. Jason Fung treats his patients with fasting. I’m not saying for you to do that, but personally I find he’s good at explaining the rationale behind treating Type II diabetes using a dietary approach – and sometimes it’s nice just to watch something!
In one of these (I think it’s Two Big Lies), he mentions (Roy) Taylor’s work. Roy Taylor’s research and his Newcastle Diet (used with people with Type II diabetes) very much informed Michael Mosley’s Blood Sugar Diet – Roy Taylor does the introduction bit in the BSD. So even though they all use slightly different approaches, I think they’re all coming from the same basic principles.

Enjoy Christmas and see you next year.

Talking of numbers, we have always though my grandson’s date of birth a little bit special…. 22.12.02. We had a lovely lunch with him and his mum today, which is of course one of my positives for today. My others are ….

🌄 I was a little bit broken last night, so didn’t get to take the time to absorbe the darkness of the winter solstice because I fell into bed at 19.30. However, I did get to witness a glorious sunrise this morning, which was a wonderful way to start the day that leads us into lighter brighter ones.
😄 video chat with friend in Turkey, lots of laughs across the miles.
🙂 quick visit to eldest son and family, to drop off pressies. First time we’ve see them in months, so lovely to catch up.
It’s been a day full of family and friends and really, what could be better!

Hope your day has brought you a positive or two. If you’ve a moment do tell us about them.
Verano, we’ll miss your posts, but enjoy your celebrations and come and share your positives again when you’re ready. Meanwhile, we’ll do our best to keep this wonderful and long running thread ticking over.
