ask gavin to make you one !! hes good at double expressos!!!
gavin- have some more coffee you could bounce through your steps ha ha !!
Morning all, tea in bed here. Somehow I’ve done 322 steps overnight 😋
Cancel that. It now says 78 steps!!
janey- i do not wish to imagine what you have been doing overnight thank you very much !!!
I have a gadget for the coffee, my nespresso machine. Could not live with it.
Morning janeycoughdrop 🙂
I know what you did last night…
the blessed nespresso machine !! we have one OH loves it i even bought my son one !! all hail at the mighty nespresso if i liked coffee thosecwould be what i drank !!
Lots of evening chat to catch up with. I have been much earlier to bed this week on the diet.
Gavin thanks for the info – really impressed with your starting loss, keep at it. Love the dogs too. I have a 9 yr old rescue dog Gabi who is half border collie and half Samoyed – a combination that leads to black, white and fluffy!
She is most put out with this eating plan – she is used to sharing in my naughty and all too regular sugary treats, and keeps giving me dirty looks at what she considers to be ‘biscuit/cake time’!! She does give me about 7k steps in taking me out for a walk every day though.
Thanks Avila. Do you have a pic of your dog Gabi? Or link to a photo. I know what you mean about being put out by this plan. My 3 dogs are missing all the naughty bits too:)
Hi all,
How many steps in 6.4 miles…? Yesterday’s effort… today mind, barely moved as yet! No gadgets so can’t compete with you guys (except in my head 😉)
Have a fab Sunday🌻
Hi Imogen
I did 12.63km today and that was 18,204 steps. Maybe a maths genius can help out with that?
Linda
Hi Linda,
12.63km sounds amazing… 18, 204 steps 🙌💐 brilliant.x
Thanks Imogen
I’ve managed to build this up from no exercise when I started 16 weeks ago to walking for just over 2 hours straight on the 4 days I don’t work. If I can do it, anyone can😄
Keep going, it gets easier!
Cheers
Linda
Morning again – just! Fell back to sleep after my last post and have just woken up 😮
Better get moving or I won’t get everything done I need to today.
Lucky, your rye bread came in an email – sounds gorgeous and the sandwich looked great. I love pastrami sandwiches as well, with gerkins 😀
Hi Linda,
We must have started at much the same time as I am nearly at the end of my 16 weeks also, am doing great on the diet and blood sugars are under control, weight dropping slowly, am now focussed on increasing my exercise/activity levels, albeit gradually.
I have lost 18kg+ and still have another 25-30kg to go…and consider this a lifelong eating plan for me as I am very insulin resistant (carb reactive!!)
Enjoy your day/night😊
Wow Linda, am impressed with your walking achievements! Lucky, Tokyo and I are now ‘duelling’ with each other on our fitness apps and Ive probably moved more in the last 2 weeks than in the last year! I intend to keep this up as it is definitely complementary to the BSD way of life!
it is a duel to the end !! janey !!
this time i am hoping to beat both of you
just had a cinderella moment with a old dress that last fit 2014!! woo hoo !!
I know Linda a you are way out walking me lol I do 7000 and think that’s good until I see your totals, work in progress I say
Yay for the Cinderellamoment Tokyo!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Afternoon all 🙁 I am on a downer – not diet wise. Get this.
Every time we go away (we take a piece of you with us) no seriously, every time we’re going away, be it for a holiday, a weekend away, overnight – something goes wrong with the car. Sometimes major, such as needing an engine replaced, we’ve had to get new radiators, new clutch… you name it. So, we have a ‘new’ (used 57 plate) car now and were feeling quietly confident that we were going to get away with it. Just driving to the butcher wholesaler to get bacon for our trip and … engine warning light comes on about a mile from home. Turned car around came straight home. It’s our first car with electric thingies, so we’re going to need someone with diagnostics. On a Sunday. Altogether now… HOW MUCH! I can’t believe it, I am gutted. I’ve read up online and it seems that if it’s staying on and it’s driving ok, which it is, it’s ok, it just means get it checked asap. It’s if it’s flashing there’s a serious issue. Hubby just gone out to see a friend and then my uncle if no joy there to see if they know anyone who can do a foreigner for us today or tomorrow morning 🙁
Damn.
Oh and another 4 am jobbie from the neighbour, I wiped the floor with her this morning. Left nothing unsaid at all.
Hope it’s not too expensive Lucky!
Busy packing for our hols today too. I haven’t even got dressed yet. Still just in a pair of pants, which is a miracle in itself as a few months ago I would have had a tshirt on to hide the moobs, but as they shrink my confidence goes the other way!
Did my 2.5km in the pool last night too. First time since 2013! Boom. There’s a gym where we’re going so am going to swim/run/gym every day. Hoping to come back a lot lighter than I left, then it’s Tough Mudder on my return! Just found out one of my old mates from back home is going to be racin at the same time as me, and he’s a real life body builder/model so I want to be looking as good as I can when I’m stood next to him! Lol.
See you all when I get back peeps.
Me too Timmy, me too.
Well done on doing your 2.5 k as well. Oooooh yes, you need to make sure you’re not shown up. Bit of rivalry. And you should have a nice REAL tan as well. Not this weird orangey colour a lot of these men favour…
Have a great time. I’m sure I will. If I ever get there 🙁
Hope your day improves Lucky.
Good job doing the swim Timmy.
Just used up my spare 74 calories for today with a Babybel Cheddar. I ate it as slow as possible. Delicious.
Thanks Tigger, too 🙂 I’m a bit out of sync with todays postings and my head’s all o’er the place at the moment. Living room is wrecked, clothes and all manner everywhere, in laws not here yet, husband awol… not easy being me!
Every day I thank the Lord I don’t like cheese, or I swear I’d have been starting this plan at 30 stone. No exaggeration.
Cheers guys, managed to do it all front crawl without stopping for a breather either. Beast mode 🏊🏊💪
Oh commiserations LUCKY!:(
LUCKY i keep forgetting to tell you..just after you told us how you got yr username,DDs aunt on her hubbys side gave her a little maneki keyring all the way from Japan, where she just had her holiday ( we feel we’ve been too after viewing alllll the photos!) 😬 anyway DD gave him to me to put on my keys to her house.
C’mon all the manekis…! LUCKY needs some lucky interventions here! X
TIMMY have fun and hope you dont encounter any probs like our LM x
I have two keyrings 🙂 One is the tiniest, tiniest gold one about a centimetre high and another one that looks almost wooden that’s a bit bigger and fatter. Not looking good though on the car.
Have an amazing holiday Timmy; you’ve earned your budgie smuggler moment in the sun! Stay calm Lucky, could just be a warning. Google it! And if all else fails, do as Penny does in the Big Bang Theory, and put a bit of tape over it!!
I’ve just actually read those words on a blog post about this!
Of course, the easiest way to deal with the issue costs nothing and is adopted by a surprising number of drivers – simply stick a piece of black tape over the light and your problem is solved!!!
Gavin – I don’t know how to get pictures on here but have added a picture of Gabi dog to my last blogpost
Lucky, I hope it’s nothing difficult to fix and you get away – you deserve the holiday.
Such a lovely looking dog Avila 🙂
Thanks Tigger, me too. We’ve decided to chance it… garage where we bought the car think it could be emissions. Read up a lot online and basically reiterated what Janey said, if it’s driving ok, if the light hadn’t come on would we have thought there was anything wrong – no. Said do not rush straight to main dealer like manual ‘helpfully’ suggests, or prepare to have your wallet opened. We have breakdown cover and will book it in for a full service and diagnostics a few days after we get home. Got a splitting headache now though, not had breakfast or lunch, god knows what’s for tea, which is dangerous. I wanted to make more bread, I want to make chicken fajitas to take for tomorrow’s tea, and bloody chickpea wraps too. Son has just come in in tears because his ‘friends’ have been calling him fat, so husband has lost it and gone and dished out a bollocking. I could actually, scream 🙂 So hubby has just sat me down, put my jawbone on charge and made me a coffee. And the in laws STILL haven’t arrived. I hope they’re not expecting feeding if they show up at tea time, I’m on a skeleton freezer as it is lol.
It will all work out Lucky, don’t fret if you can’t get all the cooking done you planned – I’m sure your family would rather have a relaxed you on holiday and it’s surprising what you can rustle up with just 2 pans. I used to cheat a bit when I went camping and have electric hook-up so I could run a cool box but also so I could use my slow cooker. I’ve moved on to a small touring caravan now so have a little more flexibility.
Yes, you’re right, I just so badly want to stay in control of BSD on this break away. It’s not so easy when you’re under the stars. We are in a pod this time, which has electricity so that’s half the battle. We have a massive coolbox nicknamed ‘The Coffin’ which, once you put ice and ice blocks in there keeps food frozen for days and milk/butter etc cool, it’s brilliant as long as you’re not in and out of it every minute. Just keep topping it up with bags of ice every day or two. I like to make that night’s tea for when we get there usually curry, fajitas or chilli, something I can just heat up as we’re normally at breaking point once the tents up but I suppose I won’t have that issue this time… Slow cooker would be idea for me. Slow cooker pulled pork… nom. I couldn’t fit mine in the car now it’s a double one, which was a lovely Christmas present, and helpful at times when I’m feeding the masses but jeez it’s cumbersome! Wish this headache would do one, I rarely ever have a headache, so when I do, I feel it!
Lucky, enjoy your holiday, you will make the food choices you can when you can but don’t beat yourself up if there are slips – remember it’s your holiday to. You’re in the right frame of mind to not throw it all away because you are on holiday but forgive yourself in advance for any slips 🙂
Awwh Lucky, hope it gets sorted and you get your well deserved holiday.
Thanks Tigger 🙂 I was planning on being slightly more relaxed, still sticking to the right foods, but not worrying so much about sticking to 800. Days will be longer, we’ll be doing a lot of walking etc – especially now so with the car!
Thanks Irishgirl, me too 🙂
Onwards now try and get a few more things sorted and packed!
Lucky – I hope you don’t spend too much time cooking on holiday.
Gavin 🙂 The theme song of my life is ‘You will always find me in the kitchen at parties’. Parties. Barbecues. Holidays. Camping… you name it, I’ve got a kitchen attached to me.
There’s going to be plenty of bagged salad, bacon, Heck sausage and Greek Yogurt consumed methinks… and eggs. I’ll try not to overcomplicate things.
Famous last words…
Lucky – just leave a cook book in the kitchen with a notice “Chef on annual leave” 🙂
Or as you said salads and cold meats etc… at least then there’s no cooking, just plating up .
And just because I now know how to share photos – here’s my rescue bull cross lurcher Blitzen 🙂
http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/tigger_banks/blitz.jpg
Oh AVILA..i must go and look at yr doggie! …x
TIGGER,Blitzen is magnificent! X!
AVILA ..Lovely dog! Did you say she’s part samoyed? is she a rescue like Blitzen ?
My DD and SIL are hoping to get a Romanian rescue dog..they have a terrible life there..just on the streets in pack, then captured and put in a pound ..a charity rescues them and brings them over, finds forever homes for them. I will never understand how anyone could be cruel or unkind to an animal 🙁
Yr blog looks interesting, will have a read of that later! X
Ps TIGGER i love Blitzens name!
