LOL Eps, what are you like?? And now you know! See, I’m full of use(less)ful information, me!

What are you making with them? When I made wedges, I left the skin on and I got 8 wedges out of each turnip, so they were nice and chunky. Boiled them for 30 minutes first, sprayed with olive oil and seasoned them. The ‘fries’ I peeled them, mixed in a bowl with half a tbsp olive oil, and then sprinkled garlic powder on them.

I said to hubby that I’ll spend tomorrow afternoon making a couple of different ones, want to make two at least, three if possible. I’ve got a few loaf pans so it will keep me occupied making the next one while I wait for the one in the oven to cook. I found a nice looking one but it has chestnut flour (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Not another flour???) Thought this looked promising too http://againstallgrain.com/2012/05/21/grain-free-white-bread-paleo-and-scd/

    Time will tell!

Hi greenjanet , I stopped at 2 because I’ve done 2.5 weeks perfectly and the thought of messing up is bugging me. I also have a blog on my diet progress and I am aware of many guys also starting to do something because I have. So if I mess up , I could affect others so it’s a conscience that kept me on the straight and narrow. Just. Just. Just.

thanks Lucky – nowhere near a drastic as a cesarean!
I think half the reason it hurt was because I was sitting about doing nothing and thinking it did! Felt much better when I went out for a walk and got some fresh air, even though its raining. V low on steps today though.

Good on you Gavin! I’ve said a couple of times that I feel accountable to the people on the thread not to let them down. I know I’m not… but I feel it? I don’t want to be the one who buggers up especially as I’ve had a cracking first 7 weeks. People here inspired me when I was struggling in my first couple of weeks. That’s why I actively post, I need to keep on track. I think another thing to think about as well as accountability is sticking one to the naysayers! Yes, I know it’s childish but… 😉 Especially those who say ‘can’t be done’ without trying it, when the evidence is right in front of their faces. ‘Oh, I can’t not eat pasta!’ No no, you CAN not eat pasta, what you mean is you won’t. This WOE is depending on each individual success story, and the ripple effect from us. I was converted by a friend just based on results. How she looked in a staggeringly short amount of time. Big -> 10 weeks elapsed -> slim. If she’d told me she’d lost the weight eating ostrich and earthworms, then that’s what I’d be eating now, I was at the end of my tether!

Brew me up a cafetière of pffft for my pizza base was soggy 😡 Tasted nice but think it was too thick, hence stuck to paper rather than crisp ing up. Undeterred I shall try again another time (and mix a bit of gram flour in it)

That makes perfect sense Frog, you tend to concentrate more on the pain when nothing else is doing, don’t you? Glad you’re feeling a bit better. Don’t talk to me about low steps, there must be something in the air today, I’ve only done 2800 😮

Ah no Janey! Was it courgette base? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. That was a very deflated pffft too, not sure if it’s worth brewing a cafetiere for that level of pfffffffffffffft, you can have a cup of instant. It is Carte Noire though. So decent instant.

I could eat a bowl of earthworms right now… or a scabby rat. Or a buttered brick. I don’t eat butter. So, a brick.

Yes courgette. Tasted great but stuck like slop to paper. Hence, gram flour required I think. That condescending MFP ‘commended’ my tea however as being healthy however. Goody, it obviously likes great proof paper units calcs! Off out for 1700 steps – I’ve decided 5k is my mid week goal for now. When I get home I’m having a scoop of Oppo. No brick accompaniment. OH now in ‘Up’ mode with his set up!!

Thank goodness you’re back Brenda. It’s about time someone else took back the oven mitts of kitchen disaster! I’m chuffed to have got to 6k+ steps today after a very slow start. Small scoop of Oppo to celebrate after our evening stroll now tired and with ‘one of those tummy aches’ that signals tomorrow could be a scary day for the guys in the office. Thank goodness the plumber came today 😆 Up had warned me it’s nearly bedtime and tonight I’m not going to fight it. Until tomorrow BSD babes.

Oh and well done Tokyo on questioning/stopping some slim young idiot from going down the obsessive diet path at such a young and unnecessary age!! 👏🏼

Thanks everyone for the responses. Im hoping for another loss when i get home even with being on hols. I have been including my cals for milk in tea but trying to keep it minimal. Im using the app fat secret to manage food diary and carb percentages. Whats everyone using? Is their one linked to this site?

Morning Pd11, I think there are a few that people use. To be perfectly honest with you I was only counting the 800 calories of ‘allowed’ foods until four days ago, and I’m using MyFitnessPal because it links in with my Jawbone wristband app. I don’t think there’s one specifically linked to this site, so if Fat Secret works for you, if it ain’t broke etc 🙂

And goooooooooooooood morning everyone else! Let’s kick off the day, shall we? *Drumroll*…

    FINALLY!

0.6 kg OFF! The scales moveth again 😀 😀 😀

Keep ’em coming, the scales, the non scale victories, the waistbands. Oh and have I found a recipe for tea tonight. Jeez. I actually woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it.

Not with rice obvs. Best part is, I usually always have the ingredients in, all I need to get is the chicken. Nice salad, chickpea wraps, hot sauce and maybe a little raita. Boom. Who wants tea tonight?? Lucky’s cooking!

hi lovely people of this thread. I’ve been reading it for a while (VERY entertaining!) and just thought I’d say hello! I’ve just started week 3 and have found that the scales didn’t move at all this last week which has been a bit discouraging so I thought that maybe if I get involved in the thread instead of just reading it, you wonderful lot will help motivate me/encourage me (or just make me laugh) when I need it!

Welcome mbb22 🙂 Nice to meet you. You’ve come to the right place, I hope 🙂 I had a zero week in Week 5 and then lost 5lbs the following week, it will even itself out in time, so don’t worry too much. I’ve had nothing since Saturday but I’ve been rewarded with 0.6 kg this morning. Keep chipping away at it! I’m off out now to do my food shopping (meh) and I was going to say I’m sure someone else can keep you entertained while I’m gone (I’ll be hours 🙁 hours and HOURS of walking, JANEY) but it’s like a ghost thread this morning. I don’t know where everyone is today! Unless some are still having issues logging in, I don’t know?

See you later 🙂 I have a step duel to win! Tune in at 3.20 pm to see who will win (pssssst – me).

Boooooooo. But it’s been a great challenge.. and shall be repeated! Of course, Tokyo is a dark horse and appears to be trumping both of us without even trying.. I’m waiting to see how she gets on today!

I think i will have a go at chickpea pancakes tomorrow. Having chicken fajitas so i need a wrap.
Today its scrambled egg and smoked salmon for me with bbq this evening. Meat and lots of salad. Total yog and berries for snack.
Now ive written it its in the noggin and there will be no deviating. Back on track after a few overindulgent days. I have no scales here on my hols so cant see where im at with loss or gain but its a long term change so its not a big deal.
Beach, beach and more beach today. Note to self must put suncream below shins. Last time i was very tomato looking from the shin down. Not a great look in my knee length pjs. Haveva great day everyone.
