LOL! Thatβs a nice surprise.lets hope we have a great journey.
-
Hi guys, can I join in your road trip please. – My target is to be able to unleash my inner “Ostraffe” by Christmas. Every time I see the phone advert featuring the cross between an ostrich and giraffe it makes me want to strut across a room.
I need to target the remaining spare tyre to make that look effective. – One dress size is the definite aim, with the hope of 2. Plus a dress with nice flared skirt and a new pair of shoes with heels. -
Welcome JGwen. At the moment I see us roaring along in a four seater open top car, wind in our hair heading towards a new dawn, but Iβm sure we can trade up this vehicle as more travellers join us! So for the moment we are just three!
Iβve have spent a while this morning working out my goals for the near future. Having looked back in my diary I see I have gained 22lbs this year. So my overall goal is to lose those by the end of the year and maybe one extra one, so I can be in deficit for the year! So to my plan ……
1. 6 weeks until my next trip would like to lose 11lbs…. itβs possible. I would like to be back to the weight I was when I last saw my friends.
2. 2 weeks away but hope by then I will be so back in the zone that I will not gain.
3. 6 weeks to New Years Eve and a party, so I would like to be back to where I was last NYE. So another 11lb loss called for or maybe a little extra if possible! I know we have Christmas before this but I can cope with that…. hopefully.
4. 6 weeks until a βbig tripβ and I would love to be lighter by then!
So three nice blocks of six weeks at a time and thatβs how Iβm going to look at it. Today is Day 1 of 42 for me and so far so good…..
Looking forward to our journey together. -
Wonderful thread idea, Kazz! I’ll be following your road trip with great interest π Time seems to pass at
the speed of light as we get older, so never too soon to plan for the holidays. I’m told it’s actually neuro-
logical. As sporty as your chariot sounds V., I suspect you will soon need a travel bus! Be grateful that
Kazz doesn’t have you all on motorcycles π π π -
On board! Week 1 of 13!!
-
Hi. Brand new to the site. Just reading the book and looking at recipes with a plan to start today. I need buddies as I’m doing this all on my own. My goal ? Jan 4th to be down 2 dress sizes. Non diabetic looking at becoming healthier and reducing my risk..I’m in the medium risk group. I’m hoping for motivation and guidance.
-
Suepy, you are in the right place!
-
Violinist and Suepy good to see you. Looks like this old car is already full to bursting but I love your idea Allie, so motorbikes it is! Now we can all go at our own speed to reach our goals. Who knows we may even end up with a race to the finish!
-
I am for the motorbikes. – Classic Norton for me please…… – Just remembering spending an evening talking into the early hours with a blonde haired, blue eyed Norton owner :-))))
-
Bon voyage All!!! With my next trip so close and currently being below target, I’m waving you off with all possible best wishes. However I hope it might be okay to get on the road with you mid-November, if I find I need the boost to sort out any gain after our Turkey trip.
All power to you for a safe and successful trip, one and all!
-
Great, we have company! Iβm on a Royal Enfield! ππ΅
Allie, it was Veranoβs idea, this thread, I just set it up. ππ
V, love your 6 week blocks. Good idea. My first block is 8 weeks until my long weekend away.
Sunny, have a wonderful holiday and see you when you get back. ππ
Suepy, Violinist, hi and glad to see you here. ππ

Kazz have only just noticed your post! Yes feeling quite happy with six weeks at a time and especially as Iβm working towards βeventsβ.
Sorry girls but I think I might be on a tricycle! Slow and sure! But donβt worry about leaving m behind Iβll catch up in my own time! Who knows I might even end up on a Harley! -
Good morning! Well Day 4 of 42 for me and Iβve still not weighed or counted any food or drinks yet this week. So itβs Friday and I must have a controlled day before the weekend starts.
Hope everyone is travelling well. -
Morning erano, what do you mean day 4 of 42. It is 2 am here in Florida.
-
Verano, ok I get it. 6 weeks at a time
-
Youβve got it Violinist! Itβs just my personal challenge. Itβs split to fit in with my holidays etc. Shouldnβt you be asleep!
-
That isnβt working for me
-
I mean sleepi g wasnβt working!
-
Oh I see! Maybe you could try some βheadspaceβ. Great app with free trial. I found it really helped me to get back to sleep when I woke in the night.
-
Okay friends, it looks like we’ll all be traveling by way of motorcycles/ motorbikes! I have little to no
experience with this source of transportation π When I was a teenager, I was forbidden by my
Father to be a passenger on the back of one of these things! Only had 1 boyfriend who used this
form of transportation to get back and forth to uni each day. One beautiful summer day I violated
the rules, but thought I’d be “safe” traveling the backroads.. This was pre-helmet days…We were
stopped at a stoplight, and I came face to face with my Mother’s car! She rolled down her window,
and said “get yourself home, young lady!” I never tried it again! If I remember correctly, I was on
house arrest for the remainder of the weekend! What goes on in the mind of a 16 year old?
Rebellion, and an unwillingness to accept authority, I guess π We’ve been to Bermuda 3 times,
and the scooters/motorbikes that are used to travel around the island are about the largest machine
I care to navigate. I can’t see me driving a Harley, but I’d feel very safe being JGwen’s or Kazzi’s
passenger. I’ll be bringing up the rear with you, Verano! Are we traveling in leathers and boots?
I just want to make sure that I look “stylish”! Have to get some shredded skinny jeans to look the
part, also… A Harley Davidson is called a “Hog” over here…. Let’s call ourselves “motorcycle mavens”
I like the ring of that π -
I am just smiling and grinning reading this thread. I love the gentle good humour and all the references to Allie’s past life π
Motorbikes terrify me but I would be happy in one of thoe little side cars !Kindness and a sense of humour is so important. I feel privileged to have found you !
-
It’s a pleasure to have you with us, wendleg! I’m always high on laughter, and don’t mind in the least
being the butt of my own jokes….I believe that we can do the serious work of improving our lives,
but have some fun along the way π π πAllie
-
P.S. We’ll find you one of those side cars!!!
-
Thanks Allie !
My weigh in today showed just a very small loss but that’s ok. I am down 6 kilos /1 stone from my starting weight . I am now at the end of Week 4.It’s all good.although my cold is still hindering me a bit.Marking will have to wait until my head is a bit clearer.I will get out in the fresh air later.
My goal is to complete 7 weeks uo to the 21st October.Malaga/Seville is from the 24th to the 31st October.
Hopefully there won’t be too much damage and then I will be focused on getting to January 2019 size 16 !!!
All the best Kazz, Verano, Violinist, JGwen and Suepy.
Have a great trip to Turkey SunnyB !! -
Morning Wendleg and Allie! What is up for today?
-
Good morning! The sun is shining and it looks like another fine early autumn morning here. This week has been a bit of a trial for me with lots of βinternalβ fighting. Despite my enthusiasm and determination to get into deficit by the end of the year I seem to be self-sabotaging. Yesterday I had crisps and some chocolate chip oat biscuits, much smaller than cookies! Why? Who knows. I just donβt seem able to get back into the groove of weighing and counting.
October in the U.K. is known as βstoptoberβ when people give up smoking for the month of October but thereβs no reason why it canβt be any bad habit. So for me, starting Monday, I will give up crisps and biscuits for October. I know that I am eating them βmindlessly β I donβt crave them, I just eat them because they are there. I know the answer to that as well!!!!
Have a good weekend everyone. -
Morning Verano !
At least it’s Morning here in France. Where are you ?
I am battling a head cold but I won’t let it beat me.I am going to wizz up a green veg soup to flood my body with healthy vitamins.I can’t taste much right now !
How are you doing ?
-
Oh Verano .Sounds like you are struggling a bit. I remember the supermarkets in the Uk offering all sorts of offers on ‘Junk food’…
mega bags of crisps etc. Buy one get one free ! You get sucked inβ¦bargains bargains . It’s a con !
You say you are not craving those foods ?
Don’t buy the crips and biscuits Verano. Make some seed crackers ? Have a square of dark chocolate ?
I’m not nagging honestly …you’ve analysed the fact that you are just eating those foods mindlessly. Get them out of your cupboards and tell yourself they are not your friends. They are not nourishing your precious body.
Where are you on the weight loss Journey ?
Put the crisps and oat biscuits where they belong ( in the bin hee hee !!) Move on . You can do it !!
Today is a new day !! -
Would love to join you on your road trip please. I may not keep up with the big bikes at the front but can see myself tootling along on a Vespa (occasionally, obliviously taking a wrong turn but generally heading in the right direction). X
-
Welcome OiMadam !
You have come to the right place ! Lots of great advice and support on here ! -
Hi guys
Apologies for being awol the last couple of days. Month end at work and getting my house and spare bedrooms ready for my girlfriends who arrived last night and 2 more this afternoon. 6 of us in total and first βno menβ meeting in just over 2 years!
Verano, it took me until Thursday to get properly in the groove again. Mainly because I developed middle back pain which was agonizing when I twisted or reach, I convinced myself it wass my liver! A bit of trapped wind to go with that too so felt very uncomfortable on Thursday evening. Am much better now!
My friends and I enjoyed veg chilli and cauliflower rice last night with a dollop of sour cream. Iβd not eaten all day so I really enjoyed it. Iβve just made some linseed bread for brunch in an hourβs time with scrambled eggs and mushrooms.
Tonight is pesto salmon, blanched green veg salad and a Greek salad. Yogurt and berries for dessert.Keep at it and see you tomorrow!
Kazzeexx -
Good morning ! Good to βseeβ you again OiMadam.
Kazz glad you are ok now and I must admit your menu sounds really nice and also very healthy! Iβm waiting for tomorrow before I start back properly as we are out for a lunch party and then dinner tonight so no point in making life more difficult. My diary is empty after today so I will have no excuses left!
Wendleg Iβm in the UK so are mornings coincide. I donβt buy the crisps and biscuits itβs my OH. About 5 in the afternoon he has a beer, just one, and often some crisps. At that hour before dinner itβs so easy to be tempted! I do enjoy Lindt 90% and I did make seed crackers ….. just once and never again as they were awful. I do have an almond flour recipe which Iβm yet to try, but I will soon. Well my journey! Iβm an βold handβ Iβve been eating this way for over two years so itβs difficult to summon up the same enthusiasm you have in the early stages.
Anyway, hope everyone with a cold is on the mend. I have one too but Iβm sure Iβll be fine in a day or so. Made some wonderful broccoli soup a few days ago and that is helping.
Have a good Sunday everyone. -
Morning everyone
I have slept more this weekend and feeling slightly less fuzzy and congested. Have some lemon and ginger water at the ready.Hope you had a great time with your girlfriends Kazz. Yes your menu sounds delicious !
I think it will be prawn stir fry today and my green soup.
Verano ,glad you like Lindt 90% too. I discovered a Lindt 78% here but I could probably eat more of that so have to be careful. I find their 85% bitter. I understand about OH and crisps. Mine buys those family bags and chomps his way through them ! Very often with a glass or two of wine or whisky !Shame about the seed crackers. The ones I used to make are just seeds and water. I haven’t made them recently on BSD as I would need to calculate cals and carbs.
I love hearing from the ‘old hands’ Your experience and advice is invaluable. Yes, I hope I can stay motivated.I am only half way through the 8 Week program and a long way to go.
Have a great day xx
-
Good morning, Roadsters!
Have had a fabulous but busy weekend! Only my sis left snoozing in bed now as i get ready for work. Flew over from Jersey for the weekend as an impromptu surprise!
Sent everyone off home yesterday afternoon with my linseed bread recipe. So more converts to this way of eating and despite sticking to healthy BSD food all weekend, there was alcohol involved! All those that no longer drink much at all, threw caution to the wind and it was a 4am to bed for some of us. I was the last! Just like the old days! I was in bed for 9.30 last night! So many laughs!
I’ll see you all a bit later.
Kazzeexx -
Glad you had a fab weekend Kazz ! Bet you made some wonderful memories ! I can’t remember the last time I went to bed at 4am ! I was probably awake at that time on a bus on a school trip one year . No fun .
Well done for sticking to BSD food ! I like the sound of your linseed bread.
Week 5 starts today . I would love to be another 5 kilos down by the end of October !
Have a great Week everone
-
Good morning Roadsters!
Just popping in quickly to report that I’m down to 16.6.8 from 16.10. I’m finally back in the saddle and on my way!
The relief to be back on track! Like Verano said, it is hard to find the enthusiasm when you’re an old timer, but I’m really hopeful now that I have.
Yes, Wendy, it was a hoot, first time in over 2 years since we all got together and we’ve got a date for the next one already. 17th May next year.
Must get ready for work, I hope to sneak on a bit later today.
Have a great day lovelies.
Kazzeexxx -
Great to hear that colds are healing, parties are happening and crisps are being avoided. Well done everyone.
It’s also lovely to be back on board with you all – some new, some not. I’m a bit of an old hand (lost 2.5 stone two years ago and have put it all back on again. Duh!). But, I know how good it feels to lose every 1lb, half a stone, a stone so can’t wait to feel that again. Kazzee, it sounds like you are feeling that already. Yay.
Today’s let’s embrace who we are, love ourselves and be good to our bodies and minds.
Have a good day everyone x -
Hi and well done Kazzee! Iβm still on the starting line but can see you ahead of me. I promise to catch up soon. Have a good week all.
-
Just checking in to say Hi
Well done Kazz ! That must feel good ! Yeah , back on track !!
Hi OiMadam. You’ll soon be back on track too. You know how to do this
Hope you are feeling better , Verano
Sending you lots of positive thoughts xx
It’s definitely feeling autumnal here. 3 degrees when I set out this morning.
-
Oimadame, so nice to see you back on Verano’s and Kazzi’s road trip. Select your mode of transportation,
and outfit yourself in leathers, or whatever suits you! We’ve all got a “ticket to ride”. Best of luck,Allie
-
I’m in! Probably the weirdo thumbing a lift at the side of the road π
I want to lose half a stone before Christmas, so let’s say a pound a week for the next 7 weeks which slightly overruns this challenge. But happy to journey with you for as long as you travel.
I lost over 2 stone on the BSD last year but have until recently lost momentum (blame wine, crisps and chocolate!) but – yet again! – wanting to move things forward.
Here we go π -
Bravo, dreamscometrue! One of us will be more than happy to give you a hand up from the roadside! A lb. a
week is altogether doable. Climb aboard, and much success to you πAllie
-
Morning!
Oooh, the weekend is catching up with me now and I’m feeling really tired today! I’m on my second mug of black coffee already! My sister flew home yesterday and I walked into an empty house last night and felt it. I do miss her but thankfully she’s got skype on her phone now so it’s easy to get my sister fix.
I have a fridge full of healthy left overs so no packed lunch problems or thinking about what to have for dinner when I drag myself in at the end of the day. π
Thanks OiMadam, Wendy, Verano – it’s great to be in the right headspace and feeling the determination again!
Right time to get ready for work.
See you all later!
xxxxx -
Is there space for a small one? (small? lol….) I think this thread might help me as I did set a target to lose a stone by Christmas. I know if I do I will reduce quite a few of my health problems. Should be doable – help me folks, I will try to be an encouragement too.
-
Hi Jordana, climb aboard! π
-
Welcome Jordana. We are here to help and encourage each other. It’s a lovely supportive forum.
Oh Kazz I understand about missing your sister. I am the eldest of 7 . 2 sisters in the Uk, one in Greece, one who tragically died of a brain tumour in 2000 but who inspires us very day , and 2 brothers also in the Uk. It ‘s hard when we all get together and then have to part. Thank goodness for WhatsApp groups to keep us easily connected.
Sounds like the weekend is catching up on you and you need to rest .
How are you doing Verano , Oimadam and Dreamscometrue ?
Tonight was grilled sardines and salad, Greek yoghurt , a few almonds and chia jam and a square of Lindt 90% choc with my coffee .
Have a great evening everyone xx -
I am joining in this road trip, sounds like a lot of fun. My steed is a Kawasaki early triple that my OH and me rebuilt in his back room from many orange boxes of bits many decades ago. (Had to paint over the smudged paint when we started it inside and muck came out of the exhaust hitting the wall in three round splats) It is a bit borderline lethal when you hit white lines and puddles, and it tries to throw you off, but never ever boring. My true biking days are well behind me now, but the memories are ever fresh. I am just below 170 pounds and currently aiming for 150 again. I have a skinny dress I need to be back in for mid November for a party.
-
Hi alliecat, wendleg and everyone. So glad to be part of this group π
Jordana you’ve inspired me too – I would so love to lose a stone by Christmas. I know it’s do-able! Firstly in terms of timing – it’s only around a pound a week which sounds really achievable. But also we know the BSD does really work if you stick to it: so let’s do just that!! No excuses.
Thelma and Louise eat your heart out, in a manner of speaking!
-
These are great goals, everyone! And plenty of time to accomplish them π Welcome, welcome, Jordana! MixnMatch,
your trusty stead reminds me of a bucking bronco! We do like to live dangerously here, my motorcycle mavens! This
is going to be one fantastic road trip…Dreamscometrue, I’m always so impressed that everyone is so familiar with
American movie lore outside of my country! We’re writing our own script here, however π Anything is possible….Allie
