    SUNNY i am with you…
*~ First lockdown deteriorated into me becoming an absolute sloth 🦥 and feeling really deconditioned by the end of it.
Determined to do better this time..meditating daily, doing some easy yoga, and have signed up to a 5 day online declutter starting tomorrow! For a long time, Ive got up every time ads come on tv,and done a small chore, and a few months ago, I added an every half hour move about. Its scary how quickly as you get older like me that you can get stiffer and more achy if you just sit around.
*~ spoke to DD ,me down her path, her in her hall. She has some lovely white cyclamen in her front garden, also red, looks lovely
*~ I noticed whilst taking a walk that many people have left their xmas wreaths on their front doors, also left their Xmas lights up. Im grateful for it ,we really need the light and cheer more than ever now X

    Good morning!
I’ve decided to try and start the day by looking at recent positives….. apparently finding positives in the morning brightens up the whole day …. will let you know!
So page 90 , amazing. This must be the longest running thread!
I understand exactly what you are saying Yowzer about becoming a ‘sloth’, one of my ‘resolutions’ is to make sure I use all my face creams everyday. Really bad when it’s too much effort to use a spot of moisturiser!
Anyway, to start my day, yesterday …….

🪣🧽🧹We continued with the study cleaning. On the downside we have realised that there is so much paper to shred we need an incinerator otherwise it could be summer before we finish! So the positive, we await an incinerator to be delivered tomorrow…. then comes the fun …. warm fires outside!

🇦🇺📺😀Watched the first two episodes of MAFS Australia on catchup yesterday. Looks like there are going to be fireworks!

🍫🍪🍫Yesterday wasn’t the best BSD wise. I needed chocolate. I put on 0.2lbs which is a huge relief …. that’s the good news . Today I can get back to normal without too much damage.

It’s just getting light here but it looks really grey. Despite that have a great day whatever your weather.

Ooooh, well done everyone for 9o pages of positivity!

Verano, it makes sense that finding a positive early in the day could lift our mood for the whole day – and if we start early maybe we’ll find more positives?

Dry but very cold day here. That’s good as it means we can do our walk and will walk briskly to keep warm! There’s a small clump of aconites in bud in the front garden and they make we smile and remind me that spring is coming.

Great to read through all these, especially love the inspirational quotes! Apologies for being off line and not contributing for ages, and thank you for keeping it going. I’ll try to note something every day…..

I’ve always liked to reflect on positives in the morning to set myself up for the day.
    Here we go….
    – despite it being cold and icy here (preventing us getting out to walk or ride horses) it does mean it is very pretty, the fields are not muddy, horses are clean and happy to stay outside for longer than if it was windy and rainy!
    – my darling husband got me an apple watch for my chirstmas. I’m not big on gadgets but this is pretty cool. My activity targets are being hampered with the ice, but i was smashing them before Monday and its a good tool for encouraging me to be active. Top job MrWindy!
    – I’ve got some nice new jumpers at christmas too…..which are stylishly keeping me warm whilst working from our rather chilly home office!
    – Family fit and well and coping. Not feeling massive impact of latest lockdown requirements yet, bunkered down for the winter or so it feels.
    – Oh, and just to blow my trumpet, i ran a half marathon on Hogmanay – feels like more than just a week ago. Cant believe i actually did it, cant wait to go do more running, cant run due to ice at the moment, but thats just as well as feet needed time to recover from blisters! But due to be milder by sunday so hopefully get out then.

Good wishes to all my positive forum buddies

SQUIDGE lovely to watch for signs of the approaching spring isnt it ! Lifts our spirits x
    Morning positives for me…
*~ WINDY I like your word stylish..thats what Im attempting this lockdown! First lockdown,I degenerated into old comfy tops and trousers every day. Stylish is my key word this time round..Have several new tops, will wear each day to keep my morale high, and anyway they are definitely going to be too loose in a few months time!
VERANO I vow to use skincare products I got for Christmas..yep,me too,I got that way it was almost too much hassle to moisturise.
*~ I have learnt from my mistakes first locko….I became slothful, and a scruff! And by the end,I was feeling a mess. Will do better this time!
*~ And VERANO,yes,it looks like MAFS may turn out to be the best series yet! our daily dose of Australia will get us thru the dark January days! X

Yowzer and Verona, you are the winners of the 100 post club! Your cheerful comments and news keep me smiling and this year I’m trying to find more positives each day.
I think we must be triplets as so many different comments relate to us!
I too have never been good at my skin care – I. always remove my makeup but often can’t be bothered to apply the moisturisers at night.
Also I am aiming to move more and wear more of the clothes sitting in the wardrobe. I my Mother used to say ‘what if the doctor or queen arrived?’
Today is cold, frosty and cold and we’re expecting snow but the garden looks lovely and the birds are still singing.
    I’m feeling more positive!

Oh I’m part of the “really should use my moisturisers more” club….. I’ll commit to taking better care of my skin too! Especially as I ahve got some irritated skin on my neck – think due to buffs, hoods, woolly hats – covid and winter are not helpful!

Yowser – I think i am grateful to having daily 10am work calls with the exec management team so I always make an effort to be stylishly presentable at least from the waist up (they cant see the jodhpurs and slippers!) but i think it is good for the “self care” aspects which in turn is good for mental health and rigour, and sets me up for the day…..ok so i dont sort my hair til 09:55 but at least i get there. 😛

Here is to positively stylish good skin for January!! 🙂

Look at all you early posters … brilliant!! Each morning, I used to write down a minimum of ten positive words, which was quite uplifting. Admit that I’m not a morning person, so finding full-on positives to post first thing is not for me, whereas a few positive words is much easier.

V, glad you have continued to make progress with your clear out.
Squidge, I’m a big fan of spring flowers too, they are so cheery and hopeful.
Jules, well done on that half marathon!
Yowser, it’s a really good idea to use those products and not save them for some unspecified future.
BusyBee, the lack of traffic during lockdown, means it’s easier to hear the bird song at the moment isn’t it.

So, here goes with some positives from me for today …
😴 slept really well last night. Hoping that will happen again tonight, having once again done meditation and qigong sessions.
📱 enjoyed a phone chat with an old friend. He really struggled during the first lockdown, but is much more upbeat this time round.
💉 Mum and Dad had their second covid vaccination yesterday.
🥶 the frost didn’t thaw at all today, but I made the most of it, by taking photos of various plants trimming with frost. Think there’s always something to admire in nature.

Looking forward to reading your positives, so please remember to post them.

    1. Having rejoined the forum after some considerable time I have enjoyed reading this thread with its cheerfully positive notes. Thank you all for that.
    2. Am in my larger local shopping centre, Friday afternoon, sitting having a cup of tea while waiting for the nearby pharmacy to make up a prescription. I often meet
butterlover here for a cuppa & chat, never have food. However, when alone, I more often than not order a slice of carrot cake. Huge!! Eat the lot!! But, NOT TODAY 🥳. Sorry for shouting but I do feel good about this.
    3. Relating to both the above, I’m feeling immensely thankful that here in Perth, W. Australia I can sit in a coffee shop, or go to a cafe, hotel, theatre, cricket. All I have to do is scan in, then sit 1.5m away from anyone else. We currently have no community spread of COVID and the only diagnosed cases for the past several months have been incomers, interstate or international, who are tested while in 14 day quarantine. Luck & strong border controls. Wishing everyone the very best of health in your current lockdowns, or non-lockdowns as the case may be. xx Marilyn

*~ Self improvement plans going well. Been doing meditations working on chakras. This week, the root chakra, which helps you feel secure and grounded. And today walking outdoors I felt less wobbly and unbalanced than normal.
The decluttering online is going well … Im a regular declutterer anyway, but after yesterday’s session on clearing my bedroom, I feel a more relaxed vibe in there.
*~ Been consistent all week with my vibroplate and rebounding exercises, hoping to help my sluggish lymphatic system work better. Later im doing some online seated yoga .. i cant do on the floor work, but I know I can manage seated and a little standing yoga.

Woke up with a migraine this morning and wasn’t really mobile until midday, but think I can still find a few positives ….
🌹three of the roses I ordered have arrived. They’re having a good drink at the moment. Hope to get them planted up soon.
👗 dress pattern has also arrived, just need to buy lining fabric and I can crack on with my first sewing project in years.
🍽 very good steak for dinner this evening.
😴 getting an early night tonight, as I’m still feeling a bit wiped out from the migraine. Hoping to wake feeling fresh and bright.

    – got out for a walk yesterday, tough going in the ice but done.
    – really good mediation yesterday, hoping its got my head back in the right place as struggling to get back into the swing of things.
    – hubby just received a hamper from his work….all food i wont be sharing but very nice of them! Thats 6 months he’s been in that job. He’s done amazingly given covid etc and the fact he ‘s worked from home the whole time and barely met any of his new colleagues face to face. and so glad he moved, even if it was somewhat forced on him.

Hello everyone. Monday evening here 2155 hrs. Positive things for me:
: Have just not long switched off from a video chat with my siblings. Every Monday evening. We started this when we had our own lock down early March which didn’t last very long in the scheme of things. Opened up in stages but as we are all of an age to be cautious and my 3 siblings (younger than me) all have quite severe health concerns, we didn’t physically meet but enjoyed our weekly on line chats. Have learnt much about each other which is no bad thing as we are aged between 66 -76.
: Was very impressed with our first visit to the new WA Museum building. New structure beautifully wound around the old, lots of well remembered and new artifacts, with plenty of space to wander around. My grandchildren both seemed to enjoy it and as I’m such a museum & art gallery geek, that pleased me immensely.
WindyJulz, what great positives you shared today, thank you.
Living with positivity, Cheers everyone xx

Hi friends!Just calling by quickly..trying to spend less time online and more time being active !!!!
    🌷🌷🌷❤️A story for today..The Two Wolves… 🐺 🐺
An old man was telling a child a story of the battle that goes on inside people..
He said, the battle is between the two wolves that live inside us all..
    One wolf is evil – he’s angry,jealous,envious,resentful,greedy,selfish,egotistical,negative,
The other wolf is good – he’s loving, joyful, peaceful, hopeful, kind, compassionate, empathic, generous, humble
The child thought about this, then asked, which wolf wins the battle?
The one you feed, the man replied.🌷🌷🌷💜xx

    Positives from me today …..
👗 repaired the broken strap on one of my fav dresses and hand washed it, ready to wear on Wednesday evening.
👚👕 in fact, cleared all hand washing today …. the dress, three jumpers and two scarves.
    🧽🧼 cleaned the washing machine.
Think that’s it for today … nothing earth shattering, but a few little plus points.

What positives were there for you today?

    Good morning!

Positives for me – some older family members have had the COVID vaccine. That’s good not just for them, but because it shows it is getting distributed. These people aren’t in care homes, which if you listen to some sources would seem to be the only places getting it.

On a different note, I’ve ‘invented’ a carb free lasagna! Cut peppers in half lengthways and remove stalk and seeds, then fill with bolognese mixture. (I make it a bit drier than usual.) Pack fairly tightly into a dish, if you have one the right size, to help keep them upright. Bake in hot oven for about 20 mins. The peppers should begin to soften, but hold their shape.

Next top with a spoonful of any kind of carb free white sauce you may have and some grated cheese. Béchamel, hollandaise or cheese sauces would work, or if you don’t have any you can use a little mayonnaise or cream cheese or skip it and choose mozzarella as the cheese topping.

Put them back in the oven until the cheese has melted and started to brown. Two halves for dinner or one for lunch.

    – good walk last night in the dark, nice to be able to get out again (although it has frozen over night and we’ve had a dusting of snow)
    – still and sunny day.

Squidge – great about the vaccine, we are still waiting for information / invitation for my 85 year old father..,… hoping he gets comms soon.

I do love a particularly good meditation session, funny how sometimes it totally hits the spot.
My positives (despite having a poor Fast800 day yesterday)
    – done my meditation already this morning, its a good way to start the day, then went out to do horses, feeling fresh by 08:20!
    – The mint Lindor balls……they are the one thing that grabbed my attention pre-christmas and made me sad as i shouldnt be eating them….well did husband not buy some as “just in case we need to give them to anyone” supplies…..well they have shouted at me for weeks from the boot of his car (and i was pretty grumpy they were there)….now i had some last night, and felt let down….that sort of thing just doesnt do it for me anymore…. so bad that i ate them but whoop to the fact i hope i will never crave them again! I really am still learning about what i like and what likes me! I’m having the “i ate milk chocolate” as a positive today!
    – decent walk again last night despite the cold, road was not too icy so nice to get out.
    – its just beginning to look a little lighter a little earlier in the morniings….. so ready for spring but aware theres another good 8 weeks of winter to navigate first. But day light helps….if the temperature just wants to pick up that’d be great.

Hi all positive thinkers. And Happy Birthday Sunny! Your celebrations sound lovely.

Have been under a very black cloud for a few days, but here goes for today:
    1) Good walk in the woods and on the dunes this morning. Lovely blue skies and a still calm. Appreciating that the days are getting longer.
    2) Enjoying the website – in particular JGwen’s recent posting. The article she posted reminded me of the saying “talk to yourself in the same way as you would to your best friend”. Will actively try to do that today.
    3) I planted a lot of pots of bulbs during grey November days. Irises (I think!) are already poking through. Snowdrops are on their way too in the garden. Spring is on its way.

    Have a good day.

With you, Busybee. Hope you’re finding your positives ♥️
Reading through the posts, I just love the way people tickle out positives to boost themselves throughout the day. Love this thread.
I had such a good start to this Thursday. I met a good friend for breakfast at a riverside eatery. She was taking me to breakfast as a belated birthday gift. I’m a November birthday but I was not so well the last couple of months of 2020 (virus, non-Covid related, missed several pre-Christmas functions), but my gorgeous friend phoned the other day and said “it’s time!”. We’re part of a group of 4 couples who all started playing at the same squash club in 1972 , started a little dinner group about 10 years later, kept it going even though, at various times, one or other of the couples would be living interstate or overseas for a time. For e.g, OH & I lived in Sydney for about 7 years, always a catch-up when we were home for a visit. We meet as a group 8 times a year but it’s so nice to have just a one to one for a couple of hours. Happy me 🥰

Consequently, it’s pretty easy to find some positives today …..
💐 gorgeous bouquet received from son and family … it’s stunning, full of sunflowers🌻, roses and hydrangea, to name a few.
☀️ the sun managed to put in a short appearance today … can’t remember the last time that happened here!
🌝 daughter has been offered a new job, which she thought she wouldn’t get.

    My positives for today..
*~ Since Monday 11th Jan, I’ve got back to pre Xmas weight( 🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️!) I have shifted the lbs gained over Xmas..just shows how much is just retained water, rather than actual fat!
*~ My scales have just died..they need a new battery..not getting one for a while as I seem to do better without the scales always trying to tempt me to jump on,but often with disappointing results!
*~ This week have enjoyed dressing a bit more smartly than I did in previous lockos…really has lifted my spirits!

☀️ for the second day running, there were sunny spells again today.
💐 more blooms have appeared in my birthday bouquet …. yellow and white iris.
🌹when I rearranged the flowers, I took some cuttings from the rose stems …. fingers crossed at least one will take.
📸 have taken loads of photos of my flowers, using the mobile phone lenses which were also a birthday gift. Loving the arty results.

Can hardly believe we’re at the start of another weekend … hope you all have a good one. Please try to pop in occasionally to let us know about your positives.

Hello Yowser, like you a quiet day with not much to report, but there are a couple of positives nonetheless…..
💉 covid vaccinations are starting in India… of particular interest to me, as I have friends there.
🍽 the monk fish and prawn curry I made for dinner this evening, was well worth the effort. (Although the kitchen looks like a war zone as a result!)
That’s me for today, hope your weekend is going well … don’t forget, we’d love to know about those positives.

    Hello!
Just wanted to check in. I’ve been unwell for the last week (not covid related) so have been hunkering down in my bed. Fortunately I’m back up to speed now and even made two pots of soup today!
    So my first positive…….

🐓🧅🥕 Made a pot of chicken soup and another of lentil soup so all stocked up again..
🧩🧩🧩 Five sixths of the way through my 2000 piece jigsaw which consists of six photos of my grandsons. It’s so wonderful when one if their little faces ‘materialises’.
😀😀🌝 Just happy to feel healthy again.

Hope you are all well and positive…. Monday tomorrow so yet another week begins …. despite everything, we shouldn’t be too glum, we can make this week positive if we really try!

Sorry to read that you’ve had health problems this week Verano, but good to see you back here posting positives. Your jigsaw sounds fun …. looking forward to the grand children appearing, is wonderful way to keep motivated with the project.

    Positives from me today …..
🌹 weather good enough to get out in the garden. Got there new roses planted up at last. One had very long roots and I didn’t have a pot tall enough, so for now it’s been planted into an old pillowcase.
🌸 noticed my daphne is starting to bloom, it has lots of buds this year.
👕👚 two loads of laundry done.

Simple things, but positives for sure … did anything positive happen in your corner of the world today?

    Hi Guys,

    A positive, and an observation.

I bought myself a new fitbit and comparing my records from my first fitbit back in 2015 I am doing more steps before 10am each day now than I was doing per day when I bought my first one.

I was inspired to pop in to ask if its just me having binge watched the Married at First Sight in Australia This weekend. – Is it just me feeling cynical, but I can’t help noticing the nails on some of the women. – Wouldn’t any serious interview selection process ask women who have impractical nails if they are really ready to move from a household where others obviously do everything for them to a partnership,

    Hello!
JGwen you made me smile ….. long nails, plus all the beauty routines ….. you’re right they don’t really mix with doing any ‘housework’ or sharing with a partner. Great mind numbing TV nonetheless. I made a conscious decision a few weeks ago to just watch the early morning news and then watch mindless nonsense TV after that….. certainly helps to keep the mood higher!
Well I do have a couple of positives…..

🧩🧩🧩 Jigsaw almost completed but one ‘brown’ section is just not coming together. I thought my daughter was my ‘friend’ but after this jigsaw I wonder! In all fairness, if you aren’t a jigsaw puzzler you probably don’t realise that a picture mainly comprising of autumn leaves is very difficult, but the intention was only good.

🐓🌶🍃 Thai red curry tonight. I find as I get older I need more spice probably taste buds are waning, bit like the rest of me! Anyway, looking forward to dinner.

🛫🏖☀️ In my wisdom back in November, when things were looking a little brighter, I booked a trip to Tenerife just after Easter. Well, looks very much like that won’t happen but ….. the positive ….. we’ll push it back to September and keep everything crossed!

🌞🌙🌜 I really hate these long dark days BUT I’ve noticed over the last week the days really are lengthening …… Spring is on its way!!
Have you seen any spring flowers yet?
Hope you are all well. Have a positive evening.

Hi Verona – it’s good to see you back and it sounds as if your are up and running again.
I agree that it’s getting lighter each night/week and yes I have seen a spring flower – our neighbour’s Camellia always flowers in January but our’s doesn’t bloom until March.

JGwen, I was once told I almost didn’t get a job because of the length of my fingernails 😵…. one of the interviewers thought they would interfere with my typing 🤭.
V, everything crossed for your trip to Tenerif this year …. I’m sure it will happen. Like you and BusyBee, I’m appreciating the lengthening days too.
Yowser, really pleased for your friend’s DD and glad you’re feeling better for a bit more movement.

    My positives for today …..
💉 heard today one of my friends (over 70 and in a high risk category) has been given a covid vaccination appointment for Wednesday…. she’s so happy.
Other than that, I think this link has been the high point of my day …..

Thanks for posting. BusyBee, I can totally understand your being really excited about your daughter getting her vaccination. You must have been constantly worried for her, so her protection becomes yours too in a way. Congrats to your grandson, Verano, I’m sure he’s feeling very grown up now.

Didn’t post yesterday, as we attended a funeral and I was feeling rather flat. The gloomy stormy weather today hasn’t helped lift the mood, but regardless, I can find a couple of positives ….
🌻 my birthday flowers are still doing well. A few less now, but the roses, sunflowers and quite a bit else are still providing a cheery focal point.
📿 received a belated birthday gift today … necklace made by a dear friend, with beads sourced from Africa and India.
🌹 really looks like some of my most recent rose cuttings have actually taken …. so excited!
🌧 lucky to be safe and warm inside on a night like this … high winds and pouring rain.

Watch out for those positives, they’re almost always there, just waiting to be recognised. Why not tell us about yours too?

Hi everyone. Great to read your positives!

I know a few people who’ve had the covid jab now too. It’s good to know that people are getting it.
