    I was doing really well when I started this a while back until around six weeks in I got ill and then lost all motivation. I ate loads of absolute rubbish and sometimes it wasn’t even that I was hungry just stuck. I now am at my heaviest I have ever been and feel really sluggish so this is it I have re read the book fixed my mindset and am raring to go. Has anyone got any advice for how to keep going when you are ill cos that was my downfall and I don’t want it to happen again. Thanks

    No advice here I’m afraid! When I’m sick I just want carbs and more carbs! Toast, noodles, rice… But I’ve done the 8 weeks twice, with a break in between, and I’m starting again on Monday for another round. Just go again.

    I think/hope that the longer we do this the more the new habits will be set and the carb cravings killed.

    Otherwise the only advice I can offer is to minimise what there is that you can regret. We don’t buy crisps for example. If the kids want some I send the eldest to the shop for one packet.

    Try to make sure you have lots of easy BSD friendly food in the house so that they can become your ‘goto’ food. Another suggestion is to allow yourself to eat more calories during days you are ill but only allowing the good food. That may be enough of a mind trick to keep you closer to the track!

    Good to hear you are jumping back on to fast 800. I started in Feb and after 8 weeks lost my way ( too much wine with friends and families over Easter which triggered carb binges)…. However the way I coped was to stick to the key principles of lowering carbs when not socialising and fasting for 16 hrs per day. Luckily I did not gain weight.

    I have restarted fast 800 too as I have another 11 lbs to loose.

    Stick with it. Plan your meals for the week, use tools to track what you are eating. If you are ill try and pick key principles you know you can easily maintain till you are better. If you slip one day. Get back,on track the next day. Perhaps even plan what you will eat if you do fall ill to,prevent making the same mistake twice.

    The good news is you know you can do this because you did do it prior to falling ill.

    How about thinking when you’re ill, if I eat that and get back into bad habits I could end up being a whole lot sicker?
