Thought I’d set this up ready for the jump across tomorrow and hopefully everyone on the previous PLAN thread will come along. Would be good to welcome some new ‘faces’ too, so if you are looking for a thread to help keep you focused, please post here too. Will report in tomorrow and publish my plan for the week – looking forward to reading a lot of plans in the next couple of days.

Hey Sunny I didn’t weigh this morning as I was away but ill weigh in the morning. Do most people weigh in on a Tuesday? Bit more forgiving than a Monday maybe?! My weekend didn’t exactly stay on track but it wasn’t a complete disaster. I did have a couple of things that I wouldn’t have had at home but I’m not going to beat myself up about it. Am hoping for 2lbs off in the morning.

My plan for this week is just to keep on keeping on. It’s only week 5 for me but I hope that doesn’t matter. I’ve already lost 7 kg in my first four weeks and am enjoying looser clothes and the NSV of being in my 12 jeans again today for the first time in ages. I have 8kg to go to a green NHS BMI reading and I am determined to do it by Christmas! This is my second go at the diet as I lost about 14kg before and then fell off the wagon a bit but now I’m fully on the wagon and I know that it works very well for me. KOKO everyone

Two pound off would be a good result, Micmac – will keep my fingers crossed. eatingforlife, it doesn’t matter what stage you’re at, all are welcome here. On these weekly threads we are all at differing stages and the idea of them, is just to help us focus and the first one was kicked off six weeks ago – hence Week 6. Anyway, sounds like you are doing great and with your determination, I’m sure you will get to your goal by Christmas.

So I’ve stayed the same…. Hmph. I do know where I went wrong though. I also have TOTM bloating so not too bad in all considering I can add about 4 lbs with PMT sometimes. Hope everyone else sees some good results.

Did better than me Micmac! Staying the same is not a gain and is to be applauded – and given your situation, I reckon you have had a good week.

Wouldn’t you know it, the scales showed a gain this morning!!! This brings me a smidge above final target weight AGAIN – aahhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Think it is possibly the wine from two nights ago catching up. Anyway, I’m aiming for a minimum of 17hrs o/night fast today and will hope to start seeing something more favourable tomorrow – and indeed for the end of this week’s challenge.

Have family staying this coming w/e and I know we will be eating out on more than one evening and there will be some alcohol, to I’m going to say if I can end this week on target at 8st 7lb, I’ll be content. My aim for this week is to mark time, with a view to getting right back to basics next week.

Does anyone else have a definite plan for this week? Looking forward to reading about where you all are in the process and what your aim is for this week.

It’s Tuesday already! I’ve been in a brain fogged daze since last Weds. life changing news, so I’m trying to
catch up with all the threads. Welcome to all the newcomers here 🙂 Very best of luck to you all!

Sunny, thank you so much for carrying the challenge forward for another week. I picked up a 2lb gain this
past week! What do I think that I’m doing? A combination of forgetting to drink water, plus wine creep,
I think. May I travel along with you? I need to get refocused immediately 🙂 Walking is a great stress reliever
for me, but it looks like another 35C (95F) week forecast, so I’m not very positive about that happening…
I’m getting on top of the weight gain however, and of course I know what needs to be done 🙂 I hope the
rest of the family will be here, too!

A HUGE Happy Birthday today to Kazzi!!!

Great to see you back on board Allie. Given that you have loads of wriggle room, 2lb is not a disaster and I’m sure it’s temporary and just as a result of low hydration and wine creep. Once they have returned to normal, I’m confident that those 2lb will disappear again. Pleased to know you are feeling a little more focused and looking to deal with stress and the small gain. And of course, we will be here cheering you along as always.

Happy birthday from me too, Kazz.

Hi sorry I won’t be joining in this week but so pleased that there are still some people out there with a ‘PLAN’. Good luck to everyone. I will be back in a few weeks with a new ‘PLAN’ for myself but in the meantime just keep on keeping on ……..

Hello – delighted to post a small loss and now weighing in at 74.9kg. I find I need to weigh daily otherwise I lose focus and start gaining quickly. I felt a bit peckish after dinner yday but some cheese stopped that and all was well. I’m hoping to swim at lunchtime today. I managed a half hour in the pool yesterday too. Keep on Keeping on and we will get there. I want to get to 63kg. so about 2 stone to go.

Am joining the challenge also – a day late because we returned late yesterday from visiting daughter and family in Sevenoaks. Allie – great to see you back ‘on board’ after the shock of Wednesday’s life changing news.

While in Sevenoaks I realised that the gain of 1lb I had last week while we were on holiday at Orford was actually caused by ‘slow transit’. At home I have ground flaxseeds and inulin mixed with my kefir in the morning but on holiday, although I took the inulin and ate loads of leafy green veggies it actually didn’t prevent the slow transit issues. Actually stationary transit was a better description. So I took my kefir and ground flaxseeds with me to Sevenoaks and it did the trick – the 1lb gain just disappeared (sorry if this is just too much information).

So the plan for the week is to continue to do everything I can to improve my after meal blood sugars. I also need to get to grips with the IF again. I have slipped into having too much coffee and cream during the fasting period so need to reign back on the coffee and have more bone broth and Redbush tea with no milk instead when I am fasting. Actually, I am drinking too much coffee altogether at the moment so do need to cut down on it and drink more Redbush tea which I love also.

Hi all! I am now 3 months into maintenance and weightwise all is well (I have done a 36 hour fast each week which seems to melt away any gains). The carbs has crept up though so the plan is to start counting again for awhile. I did a quick summary over last weeks eating and I am close to 200 carbs some days… I got higher bloodsugar readings again so really need to get some focus on those pesky but delicious carbs.
Getting blood test results on next wednesday, will be interesting to see the damage done. My test for hba1c (hb1ac? I never learn..) just after my finished 8 weeks was a fabulous 31, no idea what to expect now.
Good luck to all still losing and everyone in maintenance!

What dedication to do a weekly 36hr fast, Bjorn! I can manage 23hrs, but that’s pretty much my limit – although that is largely governed by the fact my OH would protest most strongly to me doing any extended fasting (he doesn’t know about the 23hr ones, as these happen when he’s working!). Hope you blood results are good, but it would certainly be advisable to review your carb intake.

Hope you manage to get some gardening in Kazz – UK weather is looking a bit iffy, so I’m guessing it will be between rain showers! Will be looking forward to your return Verano. Sounds like your plan is going well eatingforlife and I’m sure you will be reporting more losses soon. At least you know what was causing the small gain, Krysia and have already resolved the matter. It’s always useful to share such information, as I’m sure it may be useful to others. If you want to drink coffee, perhaps consider swapping to decaf? I drink mine with Alpro unsweetened almond milk, which has no carbs and only 23cals per 100ml.

The aberration on the scales yesterday, was rectified this morning and I am again below target and working to increase the wriggle room. Hope everyone is doing well with their plan for the week and will look forward to reading of their progress.

Morning all can I jump on board? Allie the wine creep is definitely something I have to deal with and following a period away we then had 13 houseguests over 5 days so you can all imagine what the combo of dear friends and long evenings meant carbs wise.

Still this morning I weighed myself for the first time in many years and the weight is not bad but I could lose a few kilos (ideally 5). I shall use the scales as a motivator to get back on track. I shall also start checking BP as that is my big motivator on this WoE.

And I shall read Jason Fung to really place the focus well and may be start fasting a wee bit too. 36 hours Bjorn – and 23 hours Sunnyb feels very out of my depth. The most I’ve managed is 18-20 hours. Let’s see if I can get there again. Kids starting school next week will help hugely in controlling my food environment. They eat healthily and there’s not too much junk food in their daily lives but it’s adds an extra tier of self control that I find quite challenging at present.

Anyway have a good week all.

36 hours is with eating normal all other days. I would not manage that on 800 cals. I eat supper monday evening at about 7 or 8. Nothing during tuesday and then breakfast around 8 on wednesday. 36 hours are very easy if you already can do 24. You just go to bed after 24 hours and wake up almost done with your 36 hour fast.
But if your family is not supportive it will of course be hard as in Sunnys case.

That’s a very clear guide. Thanks Bjorn. I’m interested to know what you drink during a long fast – KrysiaD mentioned bone broth which sounds like it would keep you going for a while. How about other fasters in the forum? What do you take to keep your energy up during a fast?

Today’s weigh-in 74.2kg! That’s 8kg in August – yay! Been to Debenhams to stock up on new clothes for the new term. Keep on keeping on. 63kg is my target and I WILL get there! Hope everyone else is having a good Friday morning.

Fasting – well I normally have one meal a day when on 800 calories. So that is a daily 23 hr fast. I have done some longer fasts ( whilst on the 800 calories) – over a weekend of up to 50 hours but to be honest I didn’t really notice any extra benefit and so I haven’t done one for a while. During that time I drank only water. I didn’t find it that hard just didn’t feel it affected weight loss as much as I’d hoped. When I get to maintenance stage maybe I will need to incorporate some then but I am a long way off that and I will deal with that when I get there. There are many experienced maintainers on here to help with that.

well done eatingforlife that is a great acheivement! I’ve weighed in at 11,,8 this morning so I’m happy with a 2b loss. I only managed one fast day this week but aiming for two this week.

8 stone 13.25lb which is a 1lb gain – so am back to the same weight as I was at beginning of August. Not surprising as I have had a lovely 3 weeks holiday and only counted the carbs. Way too much coffee and cream, nuts, yoghurt and cheese and relaxing meal out but stayed strictly to BSD food.

Hey Krysia – I’d say that isn’t bad going, given you have been relaxing and enjoying, very good actually. I have to confess to having ‘wasted’ this week, in that I have been socialising for a chunk of it, with the result that this morning I weigh in at exactly the same as last week – i.e. 1lb over target weight. A little annoyed with myself, but I own it and understand that it’s as it should be.

I’m not sure if others have an interest in another weekly challenge, but I need to get serious about this now, so am going to kick off a new weekly thread, with an aim to really taking control. Only six weeks to our next trip to Turkey, so I need to build in some wriggle room.

Hope others have had a more successful Week 6 and I hope to see everyone on the Week 7 challenge too.

Got my hba1c result today. 32 which should be very healthy. I really seem to have upped my insulin sensitivity quite a bit after this diet. Also blood pressure was fine. Cholesterol a bit high according to nurse but fine in my book, around 5, with ldl at 2 something and triglycerides at 1.7. Waist was down 20 centimeters since she last took my measures :).

    Hi eatingforlife

Well done on your weight loss and I bet getting new clothes was a great boost. I will be happy getting into the clothes I have not been able to get into for a while.
I had been wondering if I was doing the right thing just having one meal on the 800 programme. It suits me so I am heartened to hear it worked for you. I am only on Day 3 of my first Week
