Help needed please! I am losing hardly anything

    Hi, I started the BSD on 15.05 and have to date lost about 2lbs. I keep reading about how people have a good weight loss amount but nothing seems to be happening with my weight. I can’t eat any less – my diet is generally Greek yoghurt with a handful of blueberries and seeds plus about 5 nuts in the morning, lunch is fish and salad and dinner is meat and veggies- no potatoes etc. Drinking mainly black coffee and lots of water.
    I have bought ketosis sticks and seem to be in keto about 3/4 of the time. Exercising for about 30 mins twice a week and walking the dog as well for an hour a day.
    But hardly any weight loss. I started 73.25kg and am now 72kg. I am so disheartened. I seem to look worse in the mirror than before the diet even started. What am I doing wrong?

    I don’t want to give up on yet another diet, especially as I went through the ‘keto flu’ in week one but I am very close to seeing if I can get weight loss jobs as this just isn’t working for me at all. So fed up

    Hi Helpneeded, please don’t give up. We all lose weight at different rates. In my first 2 weeks I lost about the same as you (3lbs) or just under. There are many reasons, are you diabetic, are you on ANY medication, what is your starting weight, how much do you want to lose, sure you are not adding anything you haven’t mentioned, and so on.

    What you are eating seems to be fine, maybe try logging it to make sure you are not forgetting anything. Don’t worry too much about exercise as it can make you hang onto weight if your body doesn’t think it is getting enough to eat. Walking the dog is fine and really good for you in lots of ways (and good for the dog 🙂 ).

    Give it a couple more weeks and remember that 1.25kgs is nearly 3lbs. I see you are the same weight as me – the people you hear losing a stone in 2 weeks are usually starting at over 90kgs or even more. The less you have to lose the more your body is going to rebel.

    Thank you – the positive news is that I am at least not feeling hungry – so I guess if it takes longer to lose the weight, at least the scales are going down! Down to 71.5kg now. Will join the June group if I may – think the fast 800 may be going on for more than 8 weeks for me! Good idea re logging everything – will do that

    Glad to hear you are sticking with us and you are welcome on the June thread. Do you have a medical reason for doing the diet or is it weight related.
