Just completed day 2 – and I am feeling so thirsty – I’m drinking plain water or black tea, mainly water. is this a common experience?

Yup. It’s extremely common. Carbs retain water and so do fat cells. When you cut the carbs you lose the retained water and when the pounds drop so does the water hanging out in your fat cells. Be sure to add salt to your food to keep your electrolyte levels up. You could also add a bottle of high mineral sparkling water to your daily intake. Gerolsteiner, suggested to me by Californiagirl on this very forum when I posted about the vast quantities of water I was ingesting particularly after my walks, is absolutely delicious and high in trace elements including electrolytic ones like sodium and potassium.

Good on you for getting to the Michael-Palin-saying-“It’s…!” at the beginning of Monty Python episodes thirst levels on just your second day. It bodes well for your detoxing from carbs and achieving your weight loss goals. Congratulations!
