    Hi V,

The soups and shakes system is a way of controlling what people eat when they are not kept locked in a clinic, and I believe that this system is set up to be low carb. –

I am completely with you about the education, but I have also seen today that the processed food industry is already trying to fight back against low carb. – They have demanded that the NHS removes graphs from a website because, sharing them implies that the NHS endorses a low carb diet. There is a petition to reverse the removal of the graphs.

Sooner or later the battle lines would be drawn, too much money in the processed food industry for there to not be a campaign against low carb. So I sort of see why the best way for the NHS to progress right now, is to portray reversing T2 as needing a special package of shakes and soups. – Better that and give time for more research to be published than do nothing.

Hi JGwen maybe you’re right that this is better than nothing!
I had no idea that NHS is being dictated to again by ‘big food’. Talk about one step forward and two backwards! Strangely enough the ‘eat well plate’ is still based on carbs at the bottom of the pyramid so whilst WE know that the shakes/soups are based on low carb that isn’t being stressed. The stress lies fully on ‘low calorie’. Talk about mixed messages and contradictory advice! Can only hope the scheme has some success. Time will tell.

    2.Annual boiler/fire service went well.
3.Have managed to go without breakfast again and, even though my stomach was growling,I really didn’t feel hungry.
4.Made Portobello pizzas for tea and we all enjoyed them with salad.
2.Had about 250 cals left afterwards so warmed some berries in microwave to have with Greek yoghurt and few nuts.

    2) Had a productive day in the house – silver cleaning, painting etc
    3) We are all still healthy!

Hi folks! Well what a wet day it is here! But no need for gloom when there are positives to be found if we look carefully!
Thank you CARONL ( youve been very busy!) and DAWN ( ooh a summerhouse,wd love one!) and JGWEN ( isnt it infuriating how financial profit is put before good health by a cynical uncaring food industry …gahhhhhhh! )
VERANO, I agree September always seems like a taking stock time of year..almost feels like a new year, new start..i guess that comes from schooldays and the beginning of a new academic year each September.
I think 7 lb gained is quite admirable,V,given the last five, six months weve had,you could have done a lot worse ( like me!)
And yes, very well put,2020 is the year we wd rather forget, but which will be unforgettable.
Our grandchildren will be telling their grandchildren, many years hence,of the year they cdnt go to school for months on end,but they made rainbow pictures to put in their windows to keep everyones spirits up.
V i think I can almost make it to one hand..four fingers anyway but no thumb,as to where we have eaten/ had a drink since March! Its a shame as we live in a vibrant city, full of interesting and quirky eateries and drinkeries! Feel so sorry for all the people trying to make a living as best they can. Many of them very young and very hardworking. Nobody expected this, did they..
    Anyway,My positives today…
*~ Excited. Have committed to the countdown to C******** thread..dont want to use the C word yet, suffice to say,16 weeks to make everything I own fit! Well, maybe not the very smallest items, hanging hopefully in my wardrobe, from when I really REALLY lost a lot of weight,3 years ago. Just for most things to be comfortable on and to hang right. Onwards and downwards…nobody can do it for me but me. Had a great start yesterday ,a very positive day of eating properly and keeping moving, doing my meditation, doing my gratitude journal.
*~ Had to ring my broadband provider this morning..heart sank, as like most people, I find these calls frustrating..the long wait to get thru, the excruciating music on repeat, the every ten seconds message telling you about the unusually high levels of calls etc..groan..but NO today i was through within seconds to a lovely person who quickly dealt with my problem!
*~ A neighbour’s little cat went missing,I thought I saw him, then he vanished…but he turned up again, phew!is now reunited with his guardians and safely back home 💜🐾🐾 xx

    Good afternoon everyone.
Well Sunnŷ hope you are almost packed and ready to go. Are you driving or flying?
I agree Caron! Think I’m too frightened to have ‘tweaks’!
Dawn sounds like a good day. I’ve never tried the portobello pizzas but might just give them a go. Always looking for something new.
Yowzer, yes it is a city full of life and eateries but to be honest the few time’s we have been out, or had takeaway, have disappointed. I think that the restaurants have to make a profit and even with Rishi’s help they still have to cut back …. portions and quality. It’s a shame because it doesn’t encourage us to eat out.
    Anyway, to some positives……
👨🏻‍🎓 Grandson back to school today. Oh it must be so hard for the kids. Bet he comes home exhausted today but at least it’s the first step back towards ‘normality’.
🥂 Celebrated last night, not anything in particular, but we just needed something a little special to punctuate the monotony!
🍅🥦🌶 Sea bass tonight with vegetables. Love fish!!!
Middle of the week and I hope it’s a positive one so far ….. if not we still have a few days to buck the trend and make it a good week all around.

I’m so sorry about the disappointing meals…weve only had coffees so far, except for one ‘ Rishi’s Dishies’ lunch, which we were lucky with..was good value. One of these fine days V,when all this is over,we can meet up for a cuppa. I often think, how funny,V and I could walk past each other in the street, but never know!
Hope all went well today for yr grandson and for all the kids returning to school and college.

LOGIE this is definitely best place to come to keep yr spirits lifted
The Good News Thread! We share our news to cheer each other along in these weird times we live in!
Exercise wise….My balance isnt good, have fractured both wrists twice each after falls, had so many falls ( and all without an alcoholic drink!😄😄 )
Im lucky i havent done worse damage, probably too well cushioned!…..one fall was off the pavement into the main road..very lucky for me that the traffic was stopped at the lights.
So I dont walk as much as i wd like to,usually only when i can cling to my Beau’s arm ( and have even pulled the poor chap over with me twice! )
What works for me Exercisewise is a rebounder, kinda mini trampoline, for use indoors.i cant jump but I can do a gentle bounce. It helps with everything really healthwise, but I do it mainly to try to get my lymphatic system working,as i have Lymphodema in both legs.
Its quite fun,I can watch tv at the same time, and can climb on it any time, even while waiting for the kettle to boil….you can buy them quite cheaply. I was fortunate as mine was paid for by work, and its quite a good one.
Other exercises..i have a years old Rosemary Conley dvd, three different levels depending on ability. Have also had a little go at online Qi Gong.
Several people on this thread are keen gardeners,walkers/ dogwalkers / home decorators..all helps…
Really important to keep moving …! If Im having a bad no stamina whatsoever day,I often do stretchy sort of armchair exercises, theres plenty on youtube and easy to follow
(sorry this is so long LOGIE! Well done on trying the recipes….and garlic and herb anything……just gorgeous! 😋)X

    Hi everyone,some positives for today:
    1. Picked my mum up at 8.30 and we went to local M&S food hall,it was nice and quiet so lovely to have a browse. Before pandemic we used to go food shopping every Tuesday morning to Tesco and M&S but have been mainly doing click and collect since April. She has arthritis in her hip which has deteriorated over last few months but we managed and she enjoyed the trip out🙂
2.Finally found a face mask which doesn’t swamp her,I sent away for a child’s one (managed to get one without unicorns or dinosaurs on! ) and it fits her perfectly. She’s very petite and I hadn’t realised how small her head was until we needed to start wearing masks😀
3.Made a chilli for tea and had it with Tesco cauli rice (Sunny I think you recommended the frozen packs,so much less faffy than last time I tried to make it myself! )
4.Have had another day sticking to Fast800 and TRE and haven’t been at all hungry. It really helps reading the forum posts throughout the day.I just click on latest posts so all of the threads come up.

Verano I’ve made the Portobello pizzas twice now, second time I put much more topping on and they were nicer and not too ‘mushroomy’ if you know what I mean.
Yowser I do love my little summerhouse,I asked for one for my 50th birthday 4 years ago.We ordered one and my husband spent ages building it,insulating it and painting it blue and cream and putting a nice floor down.Just have 3 ‘swedish store’chairs in,a little table and couple of tiny cabinets but I feel myself relaxing as soon as I step over the threshold.I crocheted some throws and cushion covers to use in it and got couple of bargain TIffany style lamps (a weakness of mine! ) from gumtree few years ago which make it very cosy in the winter. We just have a little garden but the summerhouse is small enough not to overwhelm it.I would highly recommend getting one🙂
Hope everyone having a good day/evening.

    My positives are:
🌺 It’s Spring. And like magic we suddenly have temps around 20c. A bit windy which means hIgh pollen counts, but I have been able to cut out wearing tights for the first day in months👣
🌺 Made some low carb seed crackers today which turned out much better than I’d hoped.
🌺 Only 10 more days (fingers crossed) of this stage 4 of lockdown, and hopefully this weekend there will some news of what our next phase will look like. Still pretty locked down I guess, but I hope to be able to visit a couple of people.

Welcome Logie you are definitely in the right place for inspiration especially if you’re feeling a bit low.
Ahh Spring, I envy you Merry ….. life blooming again just as we go into the winter gloom …. positive is that we’ll come out of it, into spring, just as you go back into autumn again!
And so to my positives for today……
🥦🌶 Sea bass last night was wonderful. I have the simplest recipe to bake in the oven which never fails.
👨🏻‍🎓 First day back for my grandson yesterday was a bit mixed but I’m sure by next week all will be well. Second grandson starts back next Monday and I think that might be slightly more problematic in a school of 1500!
😢😢 Well today I logged everything on FatSecret…. mmmmm …. well not brilliant. But on the positive side I realise I’m eating at least 600 calories a day more than I should. Tomorrow I will plan better and stay within my 1200 calorie allowance.
Hope you have a positive evening.

    2) Enjoying using my new basic spiraliser. Not sure why it has taken me 8 months to discover how it works. Delicious courgettini and smoked salmon for lunch.
    3) Have re-started with logging everything. And that has kept me away from biscuits today. I really want to do well on the Countdown to C……s!

*~ Had a lovely afternoon today,it was sunny and warm. Had a coffee out. Being out seems such a treat!
VERANO i think you would feel ok here for a drink/ snack/ lunch..everything in place from having to book a table even for a drink, taking yr temp as you arrive, taking yr contact details, escorting you to yr table,an abundance of hand sanitiser everywhere, signs all over the place, lovely caring staff wiping down tables as theyre vacated….And on top of it all, a fab view over beautiful gardens, and you can take a walk thru them if you wish.
Where is this you ask? Strawberry Field!
*~ County Cricket being played and filmed today, just across the road..not good news for me,not a fan,tho its always nice these days to see some normal life happening, but my Beau very pleased. He watched for a while thru the railings along with some other guys,as nobody allowed in to watch!

Sunny, happy travelling, safe journey, but above all ENJOY!
Yowzer, wow, Strawberry Field is almost just a stone’s throw from me! Maybe the time is right for us to meet now!
I have to agree completely with anything in life that seems ‘normal’.
Sorry to rant but I have to ….. imagine I’ve just flown back from Zante to England so I don’t need to quarantine. But, then I take a day trip to Rhyl in Wales! Is the border between England and Wales going to be shut down …. no …..so where is the logic????
I just think we each have to assess our own risk and act accordingly.
So rant over …… my positives……
🍗🥦 Well tonight we are having roast chicken. I’ve found a chicken in a certain supermarket that actually tastes like chicken used to! So with steamed cabbage and mashed cauliflower we have a good meal.
👨🏻‍🎓 Number1 grandson had just slotted back into school. Think maybe we worry too much…. hopefully they will all be at ease and catch up in a shorter time than we imagine.
As we speak we have United Utilities sorting out a problem we have with our sewers! Just had a series of problems over the last few weeks. So sorry I can’t find another positive at the moment…… but it is Friday so have a good weekend.

🛩 Youngest granddaughter is thrilled to be back in school. We had a video chat yesterday and she was full of all the safety measures and how much she like seeing her friends again.
🛩 Grandson has enrolled in college and chosen some good solid subjects.
🛩 Packing and most pre-trip prep done now. Actually beginning to get a little bit excited, as it really looks like our trip is going to happen.
🛩 Long phone chat with friend this afternoon.
🛩 OH has made a start at putting up a low fence in the garden, to mask off the wood pile and compost area.
🛩 Scales put me at dead on target weight this morning, great way to start my absence🙂.

Not sure when I’ll have the opportunity to post again, but I’ll be reading yours on email, even though I won’t be around as much for awhile.

Hi everyone, some positives from me today:
1.Sunny,crisp Autumn day today, pleased the rain from yesterday has stopped.
2.Had major cravings to eat after 6.30 last night but resisted, most days I seem to be managing 15/9 or 14/10 TRE.Going to aim for some 16/8 days next week.
3.Daughter’s first two days back at school went well, not too much homework yet but that may change as GCSE’s coming up next year(not a happy thought after months of missed schooling)
4.I’ve managed to resist weighing and measuring myself for another day.I know lots of people find it helpful but I’ve decided it has the opposite effect on me,it gives me a boost if I’ve lost but has a disastrous effect if I haven’t!
5.We are picking my Mum up this morning for a drive out to a local little town,My husband and daughter are going to call into the art shop there (only two people allowed in at once) as my husband is topping up on some art materials. He has always liked to draw/paint as a hobby but is wanting to take it more seriously now and is learning some new techniques to do coloured pencil drawings of animals. My Mum and I are going to have a wander round the town.
5.Mil and fil coming round tomorrow for lunch. We have met up for cuppas over last couple of months but this is first time we’ve had a meal together since start of the pandemic.I’m going to do a big help yourself salady sort of meal.
Well that’s all I can think of for now.
Caronl,my husband and daughter use Spotify all the time and love it.I keep forgetting about in until I’m working in the kitchen and use the echo device we have to ask it to play random songs🙂 You’ve reminded me about a basic davina spiraliser I bought years ago and only used once,I must dig it out!
Yowser, well done foe resisting adding biscuits to your online order!
V,I feel the same way about the total lack of logic re quarantine!
Sunny,,it must b so lovely to be spot on target weight,it’s been so many years since I was I find it hard to imagine getting there!
Merry,I would love the recipe for the crackers please if you have time to post it,I miss eating something crunchy.
Hope everyone has a great day.Dawn

Congratulations Sunny on the target weight. Have a lovely holiday.
Dawn, well done on resisting the munchies. Hunger is such an unreliable signal. How is it that you can be ravenous in the evening for a while, yet wake up and not even think about food?
Yowzer, good on you for skipping the biscuits in the online order. That was one decision that has saved you lots of micro-temptations!
    1) Had a chance encounter with a fellow dog walker this morning – which meant another opportunity for our dog to say goodbye to his best friends. And for me to practise my Dutch.
    2) A pretty autumnal day with lovely blue skies now and again. Plants are berrying and a couple of the trees are beginning to turn. It is good to see the natural rhythm of the world despite all this virus madness.
    3) Finally dared to invite a friend into the house for coffee. First time in six months. It feels like a step for me towards a new normal and learning to live with the risks.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Well done on reaching target, Sunny!
I’m glad those children going back to school are happy about it.

I’ve not been online much – computer kept losing connection, so it was frustrating. That’s a positive in a way though, as it’s encouraged me to get on with other things, especially the garden. That’s looking much tidier, as once I’d done one bit, I just kept going. Last little area today. Whatever the computer problem was, it seems OK again now.

We had pizza, half a loaf and ice cream in the freezer, and as we’re going away soon and it was nearly empty we decided to ‘dispose’ of it all. We both put on three pounds! Clear proof that cutting the carbs is what’s been helping us lose weight. We’ve now vowed not to keep such foods in the freezer. If we really crave them, or want them for guests, then we might get some to use straight away, but we won’t keep a supply ‘just in case’ as we know we’ll find an excuse to eat them!

Just a quick post today with the hope that it doesn’t disappear!
    So…..
    1. Great to touch base with Yowzer.
    2. Apple tree almost touching the ground it’s so laden with apples. Hopefully they will be ready in a week or so.
    3. Bit the bullet and tried on my ‘almost there’ trousers, which are now, my ‘nowhere near’ trousers. A sobering moment but the positive is that I now feel as though I have something tangible to work towards instead of just a number on the scale.
    Have a great week!

We’re off on a walking trip in our campervan later today – that’s a big positive. I’ve planned meals and am taking what I’ll need – other than fresh veggies, milk etc which it will be easy to buy locally. I won’t be fasting, or weighing food, but hopefully the extra activity will make up for that and I’ll return no heavier than I am now.

I hope everyone has lots of positive things to enjoy while I’m away!

    * ~ Beau found the first of the conkers yesterday..i put them in the corners of my rooms..apparently spiders dont like the smell..it seems to work, I am more or less spidey free from August to August, then in September when the old conkers have lost their smell, and I havent yet got new ones to replace them,I do see one or two spiders..Im scared of them ( shudder!)

SUNNY if you are online it’s great to hear that your grandchildren are good making progress. Lovely to hear you went away at target weight. You have done amazingly well over the past few years to stay so close to your target weight. Enjoy your trip.
DAWN it really sounds like you have found the right way for you. I think we each travel a different path. I know exactly what you mean, one bad weigh-in can lead to such negative feelings. JGwen has some wonderful posts about daily weight fluctuations try and search for them.
SQUIDGY sounds like you do have a real plan ….. empty the freezer of pizza etc. Sounds like a simple solution. We stopped serving our guests carbs a few years ago. If you were vegetarian/vegan you wouldn’t serve meat. We are low carb so don’t serve potatoes etc.! Nobody has ever complained!
Hi CARON sounds like Holland is beautiful at the moment. So good that you have invited a friend around ….. we need to have a life rather than just be alive!
YOWZER I’m intrigued about the conker effect but will definitely give them a try …… OH will be out in the park tomorrow conker hunting! BTW my trousers aren’t just a ‘bit’ tight they are not zipping up ….. anymore evidence needed?!?!
So to my positive for today …
.👍👍Today is the first day in a while that I have weighed and logged all my food. It’s been quite difficult, but I do realise that actually I’ve been eating far too much, but it has stopped me adding those extra ‘few nuts etc’.
This is such a big one for me that I’m just sticking at one.
    Have a lovely evening

Just dropped in and saw your message, V, thanks for the kind words. Like everyone, I’ve had times when the pounds have crept up, but what I like about this WOE, is that once you get back to basics, dealing with those extra pounds doesn’t take too long. Huge well done on taking that important step today, Verano, stick to it and the pounds will soon be falling again.

Thought it was time to post a few positives again ….
🌟 Very enjoyable couple of days with my parents. Good to spend time with them, including a meal out at their favourite restaurant.
🌟 Have ordered some beautiful peony tubers, the flowers of which are colour changing, so as they mature, the colour mutates.
🌟 Currently at the airport hotel, as we have an early morning flight tomorrow. Going to relax and hopefully get some sleep tonight, before an early start.

Have a wonderfully positive week everyone and please remember to share some of those positives too. I’ll drop by again in a couple of days. Thanks to all those posting their positives, there are many that find this thread uplifting, but that depends on people sharing, so please be one of them.

    Hi ADD6605 – and everyone!
There are many recipes for keto seed crackers online – all basically just a mix of seeds, with either chia seeds or psyllium powder to bind it together. The recipe I used (Vicky Kuriel) had: 200g sunflower seeds, 60g flax seeds and 100g sesame seeds, with 2 level tablespoons of ground psyllium husk and 500ml of water. Oven 160c . I blitzed the sunflower seeds a bit to chop them up a bit, and I didn’t have enough of sesame seeds so added in some pepita seeds instead (blitzed). Mix all the seeds and psyllium together in a bowl with a teaspn of salt and any other herbs/spices you wish. Stir in the water, and it will be goopy. Let it stand for 10 mins or so to thicken. On a couple of baking trays cover with baking paper. Spread out the seed mix across 2 trays – spread thinly – I used the back of a spoon to spread it and patted it out with fingertips dipped in water to get it quite thin. I baked for at least 60 mins – turning the trays halfway through. I then lightly sprayed the top of the seeds with olive oil spray (optional but nice) and back in oven for 5-10 mins – you may also want to flip them over and give a few mins on other side. They should be crispy (not burnt!) Cool right down and then snap the sheets into water sizes you like – mine are bit size – and they go well with some cheese or nut butter. This mix made about 330 g of crackers . They are very low carb – and crunchy to help satisfy those crunch cravings! But of course there are cals! Your food tracker can add this up for you. On Vicky’s website (eatplaythrive) under the nutrition tab there is a free LCHF recipe book you can get – good simple recipes.
    Now the positives:
🌞 It’s been very windy here but this afternoon it is easing off.
🌞 Planted two tomato seedlings yesterday – the earliest I have ever planted tomatoes. One of the benefits of being stuck at home! So fingers crossed that I will have a crop by Christmas.
🌞 I’m about to go to the supermarket – a small thrill during lockdown 👩👩🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

My first positive is that i feel positivie enough to post some positives (I have been thinking of them every day even if not posting, but I’ve been a bit flat.)

Second – Merrymelba – interestingly i made seed crackers last week – enjoyed them far more than i expected…..in fact too much as i could have eaten the lot. Actually think i need to not make them!! Far to easy to knock calories WAY over!

Third – first time in what feels like a long time, OH and I had a lovely evening walk last night. Quality time, good exercise and walking after dinner makes me realise just how full i am.

Fourth – managed to persuade OH to eat in the kitchen last might – we are bad for eating on the sofa, but it is so much better and more mindful to sit, talk and eat rather than watch tv and mindlessly feed ourselves!

Fifth – nice couple of warm days of sunshine up here….. hoping to make the most of it.

    Gotta dash – work calls!!

    Howdy folks!
WINDY I agree! Its so much more civilised to eat at the table and so much more mindful! X
and agree too with MERRYMELBA! In these funny old days,,everything seems bigger, more exciting, whenever we get the opportunity to be out and about, because its less often than the ‘ before times’..so even just a trip for groceries is a thrill! An even bigger thrill for me these days is – a delivery! A knock on the door and a parcel or a food delivery and Im in heaven! 😄😄X
DAWN thats great about a looser fitting coat! Feels so much more comfy doesnt it X
Todays delights…..thank you Universe for all my blessings 💜
*~ Lovely afternoon with Beau. Sunny and warm. We sat in the courtyard of one of our favourite places..only two other customers and they were inside. Had a coffee and Im sorry,we shared a piece of Basque cheesecake..cdnt resist, never heard of it before…was worth the cals n carbs,it was so creamy and caramelly and vanilla-y! I made sure my Beau ate the lion’s share and it was quite a slim slice anyway.
*~ Today I sold a top on ebay…I started the bidding at 3.99 and it sold at £26 ..Lovely top but too long for me,I have short legs which look like two tiny fat stumps if i wear anything longer than thigh length!😄😄
*~ Enjoying emailing with my pal VERANO,we seem to have quite a lot in common as well as living in the same city!

Hugs to all..they are carb free, calorie free and sugar free,. They require no batteries and they relieve pain and depression!
So here’s a big hug from me to you (((((((((xxxxx)))))))))) Pass It On …💜🌸💖💜🌸💖💜🌸💖💜🌸💖💜🌸💖

Sorry I’m not able to respond to each individual message as Sunny does but I do read every one of them.
Feeling a little bit low today with the new restrictions. OH was due to have a big party to celebrate a big birthday later this month …. cancelled that … became small family gathering but now have cancel that!!! Hey ho life goes on ….. so to my first positive ….
    1. Actually got to see my GP today and being in the surgery felt like a very ‘safe’ experience.
    2. Dr thinks that my Blood sugar control is great with sporadic finger pricks, even though I’ve not had an HbA1c for 15 months …… Happy bunny here!
3.Weather here has been really pleasant today.
4.Booked a Caribbean cruise for December ‘’’ 2021’’’ … we have to keep dreaming!!!
So just keep those dreams to the forefront of your mind and we will make it through to the end of this ‘nonsense’.
Keep well, keep safe but above all assess your own risk and LIVE!!!

*~ DD got no taste or smell, has sore throat, sneezes and snuffles and high temperature – but she gets rundown quickly due to health probz – so she has most of these symptoms quite often. Likelihood is this is just one more episode of same, but of course, must be checked out asap.
*~ Today was sunny and warm, had my blunch on my balcony, and had a new book from one of my favourite authors to start.
    * ~ Sleepy now and looking forward to getting into my peaceful comfy bed to read another chapter of my new book, before I snuggle down. Very grateful for every small blessing that come my way

Quick check in, while our internet connection is working. Great to see positives being posted … Verano, really pleased you have 2021 holiday to look forward to and Yowser, keep up the meditation. Confess my daily meditation has slipped since our travels started last week, so that is something I definitely need to remedy PDQ.
A few positives from me …..
🇹🇷 Have settled into our home from home and started to catch up with friends.
🇹🇷 Our next door neighbour here, who was very I’ll earlier in the year, is back on his feet and doing a great job of getting back to normal.
🇹🇷 Visited my hairdresser yesterday …. first time since July 2019 …. hair feels amazing!
If something positive comes your way today, please remember to share it here. Keep up the good work Verano and Yowser xxx

Hi everyone.Hope you are all having a good day. Some positives from me today:
1.Put a top on this morning which was much looser than last time I wore it🙂
2.Had to bin some old jeans which had a hole but they were only ones which fitted comfortably.Wore some other ones today which usually feel as if they are crushing my internal organs:/ but they felt comfortable, hurray!
3.Managed another day without weighing myself, hoping to last until Thursday.
4.An old friend came round for a socially distanced cup of tea today,it was postponed from last week.We had a good catch up as haven’t seen each other properly since before Covid and,as our area is on government watch list now,I’m pleased we managed it before potential local lockdown.
Going to plan my meals for the weekend now.🙂Dawn

    1. I had an x-ray onThursday and I have to say the hospital was really COVID safe so that’s my first positive.
    2. Treated ourselves to peppered steak last night and it was lovely. We don’t often eat red meat these days so it made a nice change.

Hi everyone, I dont think I need to list 3 positives in my life as I cant think of any negatives – except for the obvious. But here goes.
    1. We are having an indian summer with temperatures in the mid to high 30’s – funny thing is it is a different heat to the height of summer stifling heat, and
    2. we are getting very cool nights (around 13 degrees) so sleep is no promblem
3, Despite one little one with a cough which I think has gone now, waiting for test results, but everyone is well
    4. Daughter did the 21 day lose a stone and that encouraged me to stick with it to help her.
    5. Daughter lost 12.5 lbs and I have lost 6 lbs. Mine is always going to be less as I am permanently on the diet but sometimes need a bit of a push to be 99.9%.
    6. Blood results great (again).
    7. Going for a swim now.
    8. Going for a lunch with friends on Wednesday.
    9. Hubby and I are both safe and well in our 2 man bubble.
So, besides the obvious – nothing to complain about.

    Good afternoon!
Yes Yowzer it really is a sunny Sunday afternoon and what a pleasant surprise.
Hi s-g great weight loss and good to hear you sounding so upbeat and positive.
Hopefully you will both get good test results for the family.
So yes it’s lovely day. It’s amazing how much brighter things look when the sun shines…..
    👒🥗 Alfresco salad lunch.
🍗🥗🍷Barbie dinner , could just be the last this summer, so will enjoy it even more.
🌈 Laundry all up to date so just the ironing to tackle now …. next rainy day I’ll be ironing!
We should have been hosting a cocktail afternoon for 60 people today but of course that wasn’t to be. Strangely enough we cancelled in early May, must have had a premonition! Anyway, life goes on ….. assess your own risk, enjoy as much as you can and keep safe. Enjoy the rest of the weekend …. tomorrow is Monday new day, new week and new start. More important now than ever before that we all stay ‘positive’!

I would like to claim 216 positives for today. – Thats the number of bales of hay made today, and about half are already in the barn. The rest will be added to the barn tomorrow.

It would have been nice to have headed down to the beach tomorrow, – but I would rather get the hay into the barn. Maybe I will head down to the beach later in the week, there are supposed to be a number of sunny days this week, just Monday is supposed to be the warmest. – I haven’t made time to go down to the beach yet this year and would like to do it, with a dip in the sea. Maybe take the dogs with me. wet salty dog would make a nice change from rolled in fox poo and then had to be held under the outside tap dog. 🙂

Wow JGwen. Go girl! What a huge task and achievement. I think a trip to the sea would be a great (non-food) reward ⛱🏊🏻

    Positives here:
🌺It’s a beautiful sunny mild day
🌺From today our curfew is 9pm rather than 8pm.
👍And also from today I can have a single bubble buddy, so my friend is coming over for lamb roast dinner tonight. What a treat!

Wow JGWEN,all those bales of hay! That must be an amazing work out!
MERRYMELBA enjoy your extra hour and hope you had a lovely time catching up with your friend.
By curfew..does that mean what time you have to be indoors,or is that the time restaurants, shops, cafes etc must close by.
    Happy Monday everyone 💐🌷💐🌷💐🌷💐🌷💐🌷💐🌷💐🌷💐🌷
*~ Well, first positive has to be the Indian summer! I cant go in the sun much,am allergic,I cant remember the long name the doc calls it. Poly something I think…But the VIt D will do us all good, and everyone looks much happier when the sun shines!
*~ I was very relieved today…saw a neighbour passing by,who I hadnt seen since before lockdown. Ive been worried about him,but didnt know where he lived, so I cdnt knock and ask. He told me he stayed in for 24 weeks, and has only just started going outdoors again. Good to know he’s ok.
*~ Made a quick trip to the Post Office..grateful to our little circular bus,got me there and home again in 40 mins. No queue at Post Office!
Another bonus..cheerful driver today, not the usual grump, and not many fellow passengers. Glad to cool off now by my fan!
    Thought for the day:
You cant pour from an empty cup,so look after yourself first xxx

Somebody just emailed this to me,thought I wd share, makes some good points…..
    “Why I am wearing a mask –
🔵 I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus.
🔵 I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me” any more than when I wear a seat belt, don’t drive drunk, obey the speed limit, or stop at a red light.
🔵 The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort.
🔵 If we all could follow these simple steps, the virus could be under control, and businesses back open.
🔵 Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid, or even “controlled.” It makes me considerate.
🔵 When you think about how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you – a child, a father, a mother, aunt, uncle, or grandparent – choking on a respirator, alone without you or any family member allowed at bedside.
Wearing a mask is not political. It’s public health and it’s considerate”
