So it’s Sunday and my goal is now to find just one positive each day. So for today…

🌳🌳🌳 had some olive trees in pots pruned today. The olives have become ‘wild’ in the unusually hot summer here this year. They now look lovely.

    Another….

👗👘👖👔🩳 Starting to sort out clothes for charity shops so we can put the clothes we ‘actually wear’ in the wardrobes!

Why do we ‘hang on’ to ‘stuff’!

At then moment I’m on a ‘clean out, clear up ‘ mission!

My one for today…. did lots of ironing!

    But number 2 …

Sorting out my wardrobes and have large black bin bags for all those clothes I’ve not worn in 5,10 or 15 years! I’m shocked at some of the clothes. Anyway, they are going!
    I’m feeling ‘lighter’ already!

Hi Verano, It must be ‘clearing out’ season!

I haven’t got rid of the ‘larger’ clothes 👗that I sorted out 6 months ago…they are still packed in a couple of suitcases, BUT… My house is over-run with books 📚, so I have decided to be ruthless and have bound up a number of “trilogies and/sets” that I have read several times and donated them! 😇 So feeling good that the bookcase is no longer groaning under the piles of books balanced on top! I cannot get on with a kindle….much prefer the feel of a real book…so I end up buying loads of paperbacks from eBay!!

2nd positive is my new kitchen mats …they are just what was needed to stop my elderly dog 🐶slipping around, and have smartened the kitchen up brilliantly!

Great to have some positives to share!

So sorry I didn’t make my ‘one a day’ goal this week Anyway I’m here now…..
My one for today … still eating really well and back to pre holiday weight ….. now I just have to tackle the rest!!!
    Have a great weekend.

So pleased to see this thread has rolled over to the next page …. a testament to all those posting their positives to help to lift us all.

Verano, thank you so much for checking in. I’m keeping my head above water. We’re now into the last days I think, so the final goodbye will be soon.

Hiwever, my positive is how wonderfully supportive my friends have been, for which I’m very grateful.

Ahh! Sunny my thoughts are with you.
Unfortunately I’ve also been there and done this one.
Nothing to say except be kind to yourself. In the fullness of time ………

Thanks Verano. I try to take a little time for myself everyday. Yesterday was special as my lovely OH visited and we were able to duck out for a meal together and my youngest DD, husband and son came to say goodbye to Mum and she recognised them.

My positives for today are …
🌸 at last they have mum’s pain undercontrol
🌸 sunny day has afforded me some time pottering in the garden

Hope the Bank Holiday weekend brings lots of good thing for you all

Sunny I can’t think of the right words, but just wanted to say I am thinking of you. Good to know that you have your friends and family around you at such a challenging time.

    Positives?
    1. A gorgeous clear sunny day today. I made it to the top of the dunes without being breathless. Another NSV!
    2. I am still appreciating all that summer has to offer – lots of rainbow salads that look picture perfect and are really appetising.
    3. My choir restarts next week, so looking forward to singing and socialising.

Lovely day today although it could be the last for a while.
I didn’t manage my one-a- day this week which is very poor really.
It’s Monday new week so this week I’ll do my very best to find at least one ‘positive’ a day ….shouldn’t be too difficult…..

🥗🍓🐟 Lovely lunch catching up with family yesterday.
Although I have to say fish was way over cooked. I’m sure lots of people don’t enjoy fish because of the fear of bones but more so because fish is so often over cooked so is as dry as a bone … no fun really. I have a fool proof method!

Anyway, hope everyone is well at best, and as well as can be expected, at worst.

Yes another day but difficult to find a positive! But I will…..

🍅🌶️🥒 had the last of my home made gazpacho today for lunch. It was lovely. Must make some more before the summer ends!

Hope today has had a positive or two for you.

Thanks for the gazpacho reminder Verano. I shall do some straightaway. I was getting tired of ratatouille!

My positive today was finally using some of the moisturising products that have been sitting in the bathroom cupboard for months/years. Spoiling myself and at no cost – what’s not to like!

    Have a good day.

I think I need to have a ‘to do list’ again as I seem to be missing out essentials every day! How can you forget to ‘drink water’?!!

📒✏️🖍️I do so much better when I ‘tick’ things off as I go along so it’s back to my little notebook today.

👩‍🦳☎️😀 Surprise phone call from friend I’ve not spoken to in a while. Lovely chat.

💦☔️🌤️Today should have been wet, wet, wet but we have sun! Lovely surprise.

Hope you’ve had a positive day.

Have wanted to drop by, but felt reluctant in case doing so ‘trashed the vibe’. However I’ll simply state my positive as, ‘Mum’s suffering is now at an end’. Consequently, I’ll try to post here more frequently, now that my time is not focused on her care and wellbeing.

🌸🌸 my darling OH is visiting for the weekend
🌸🌸 pleasant lunch out with Dad yesterday and we took a trip down memory lane

That will do for now, but hopefully your weekend brings plenty of positives your way.

Sunny good to see you finding some positives! Keep on keeping on……..

I’m shamed into finding positives. If Sunny can then we all can …..

🥗🌶️🍅 Relatives for lunch yesterday. It was a pleasure to eat with people on the same wave length of ‘low carb, no UPFs’.

🥗🍅🌶️ easy dinner tonight … last nights left overs with some more protein!

🍅🌶️🥗 Out for lunch on Wednesday although I’m not quite sure how ‘low carb, no UPF it will be!

Please find a positive or two to keep this thread going.

Yes if Sunny can, then we should all have a go.
    1) Finally went to the dentist today for a check-up, and nothing needed doing. Brilliant.
    2) Managed to throw away the coffee cake that has been calling from the fridge. I have had a very weak day today, but at least that limited the damage. Serves me right for feeling yesterday that I was more or less on top of things!
    3) the rudbeckia just outside our window has been flowering for over a month. It is a beautiful splash of sunlight in the garden, and reminds me of the good friends who brought it as a present.

Good to see others posting positives … well done on ditching the coffee cake Heidi, sometimes it pays just to be ruthless when dealing with temptation.

Feel there must be a positive or two to be found today, so here goes ….
🌼🌼 my sister and I have agreed a plan for this month, to ease Dad in to single living
🌼🌼 mum’s garden has delighted in the recent rain showers and looks lovely in this morning’s sunshine … lots of colour still out there, including fuschias, roses and even some late flowering daisies and early cyclamen.

Hope you have a positive or two and a spare minute to share them with us too.

You are right Verano, if Sunny can we all can!

🫛🫛Beans have been so prolific I have been able to supply a lot of our neighbours… makes a good excuse to drop in for tea and chat!

I bought 3 large mats for the kitchen a few weeks ago, which smartened it up. So husband decided to buy some more for the hall and conservatory , so we are looking good!

A friend turned up with a brand new (without tags) size 12-14 dress which she had bought, removed tags then found it didn’t fit. I thought it would be too small, but it fitted perfectly!!! A huge change from the size 22 I was wearing in July 2024!! 😄😄😄

Sorry I have been absent for a while… needed to get my head in a better place!

Great news Pootle! What tastes better than a size 12/14 dress feels?!

So just one positive for me today ….. some friends we’ve not seen for ages popped in for a cup of tea today. Lovely catch up.
Out for lunch tomorrow so that will be part of tomorrow’s ‘positives’.
    Have a good evening everyone.

Hahaha Verano – you are sounding like Kate Moss. “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.” I’m sorry I can’t agree. The world – as we know – is full of delicious temptations and, fortunately, some of them are permissible on the BSD!! I love the positives on this thread but haven’t posted anything for a long time. Needed incentivising to shed more lbs and an approaching holiday has provided the boost I needed. I have been throwing myself into the gym most days! Positives today:
    1. I took some pictures for framing some weeks ago and the results exceeded expectations, I now have some lovely things to put on my walls.
    2. I have been gorging on strawberries with balsamic vinegar and still managing to feel virtuous. A very expensive luxury I know but so yummy!
    3. I had a lovely day out with my son culminating in blackberry picking. I love hedgerow booty and we snagged some particuarly plump and rubious ones! Returned home with our prize and made a giant vat of blackberry and apple – so sweet and delicious. Just a little on my breakfast porridge tomorrow!!

FatGirlSlim26… no you have me totally wrong. I’m not a Kate Moss devotee.
You probably don’t know but Pootle lost 5st in 12 months with the BSD and went down many ‘sizes’. I was just saying that she really wouldn’t want to go back up to her old 20….24’s.
As a matter of interest I’ve been following this way of eating for 9 years and yes BSD does have lots of ‘delicious temptations’.

Lovely to read all the positives. Like you V, I’m 9yrs with this WoE and though I digress occasionally, overall it is my way of life now and there are endless delicious things which we can enjoy whilst sticking to low carbs.

    Anyway, my positives are ….
🌸🌼 OH arrived yesterday morning and we took Dad out to a garden centre for lunch. Bonus … I brought back some lovely new plants to take home for my garden.
🌼🌸 I get to go home today 🎉🤸‍♀️ … only for a week, but I’m still looking forward to a dose of normality in my own space and catching up on appointments and so on.
🌸🌼 two weeks on and Dad is coping well (much better than we all expected) and making adjustments following the loss of his wife of 70yrs. Really proud of him.

Sunny you and your dad are doing really well. I can understand how a week back at home with, what was normality, will really help you.

🌶️🍅🥒 Had 6 friends here for dinner last night. Wonderful to have great company

🛋️🛋️🛋️ Today we’ve just ‘relaxed’! It’s been wonderful!

☀️😀👍 Tomorrow is another day! We just have to make it a good one too!

Hope the coming week is good for everyone.
