I agree s-g Pootle is a great success and another ambassador for this way of life.

Glad you’re almost packed s-g and yes we do have to ‘have a life’ so the odd glass of wine is far less destructive than a full ‘blow out’ dinner with all the trimmings.

Today we had family here for roast Korean chicken, baked potatoes & salad followed by apple pie with cream and ice cream. The chicken was lovely. For me the potatoes and pie hold no interest anymore. Maybe that’s what happens after eating this way for so many years. I certainly don’t feel as though I’m ‘missing’ anything. Now this way of eating just feels normal to me. I guess it’s like someone who becomes vegetarian. At first you may feel odd not eating meat but after a while it just becomes your ‘new normal’.

Anyway S-g have a great Christmas with your family.

Not sure where I saw ‘suggestions for January title’ but, ‘New Year, New Me ‘sounds good..
New year, new start one day, one week at a time?

2025 one day at a time….in the next year, ask yourself ‘when I look back on 2025
how will my life look if I continue with healthy eating compared to if I stop?

How much do you want this? That’s the question we each have to ask ourselves!

I had a phone call from a very long standing friend who I haven’t seen or spoken to for over 12 months! Told her about the BSD and she was very interested….doing my best to spread the word that this way of eating really works! 😇

I am all packed for my 2 weeks away…except the food stuff in the fridge and freezer…I am taking no chances that my sister in law will only provide plenty of carbs! 😂

We are going out to my favourite restaurant tonight, so a fish supper followed by a very sinful creme brûlée if it is on the menu! I will forego the chips…😉

    Happy Christmas!!

Sunny friends with wine and nibbles sounds good.

    So to my positives ….

🍗🥗🥔 lunch with family yesterday. Weight down this morning! Passed on the baked potatoes and apple pie and cream! I must admit if I have a ‘good’ lunch I don’t feel hungry in the evening so probably eat less. Maybe something to learn there!

🐓🥦🥔 trying to finalise recipes for Christmas Day lunch. Yes I will have a roast potato and some Christmas pudding, my weakness, but will do my best to stay low carb otherwise. Calories will be a different story!!!

Hope this season is not proving to have too much ‘madness’. Enjoy!

Thank you for dropping in with festive good wishes Yowser.

I’m sure there are plenty of positives each day for most of us right now, but life is getting in the way of posting about them right now. That’s as it should be though, it’s important to take the time to appreciate all our blessings however small. So I’m just going to post one positive for now and that is soending time with family.

Whatever you are doing during the festive season, have a peaceful and joyful time and if none of us get around to posting here in the next week or so, we’ll reconvene here in 2025.

The three stray, ‘feral’ cats reappeared for food after missing yesterday. Sheltering in the hay barn from the rain, they were very cosy. Still won’t come for the food whilst I remain by it, but no longer wait for me to leave completely! 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛
I took the Christmas flowers out of the church. They have lasted brilliantly as I arranged them on the 6th December and I now have the month old red carnations in a vase on my kitchen windowsill! A month old and still going strong! 💐

👩‍🍳🥘 after ‘going offline’ yesterday, my Aga is back up and running again now, thanks to my lovely OH
❄❄ thankfully we only had light snow and most of it has already melted …. this is good news for me, as I’m not a fan

    Hello!

Home again now after a less than great journey. Flight delayed an hour or so because of snow in Manchester causing ‘congestion’, and then circled for 30 minutes because of ’congestion’ with landing slots. Anyway, all in the past now. Home, warm and dry and ready to get going again. Nonetheless we had a wonderful time with our family especially our granddaughter, so that’s my first positive.

My next positive today is really about ‘goal setting’ which I aim to do before starting my new journey tomorrow. New journey! Yes another one but the positive is that this time I’m going to be ‘realistic’ rather than ‘accept the hype’. Too long in the tooth now to be fooled by ‘miraculous results’!

My last positive for today is that I’m really looking forward to my new 2025 plan.

Glad you’re home safely, V. Sounds like an arduous journey, but now you can relax and enjoy your planning.

Positives from me today are once again a bit hard to identify. DD lost her job today, with all the other issues she has going on at the moment, this was huge blow. Consequently, I’m worried about how she will get through the coming weeks and months.

Anyway, there is still a need to post a positive, so for today my offering is that I put together a cabbage and coriander seed ferment today. Looking forward to it being ready to eat, as I’m keen to improve my gut micro biom.

Sunny sorry to hear about DD’s job. Life throws all sorts of curved balls especially when least expected. Hopefully she will come through. I live by the mantra that ‘something good always comes out of a bad situation’, let’s hope that holds true!

Sunny, despite the adversity, you posted a positive which puts us all to shame. So here I am …….

🧺🧺🧺 started the small amount of washing we have. Took clothes for summer/winter and brought a lot home unused ….. so a definite positive!

🥦🧅🧄 Cooking a roast chicken tonight which will last at least two days with freezer bits too as It’s a large chicken.

✒️📚✒️ Keeping a ‘diary’. Back to Fatsecret for logging, my food etc and paid for the year ‘premium’ access which works out at less than 60p a week. Hoping it might help me.to stay on track. But yes I know it’s really up to me!

That counts as one positive and my second is blitzing our bedroom. Over the festive period it had become very dishevelled, now it all clean and tidy again.

Think those two will do for me today. Have a great weekend packed with positives everyone x

I could do with blitzing my whole house..🥴 but it will have to wait!
    Good to have a plan…

I was supposed to be at a friend’s birthday party this afternoon, but the icy weather has made it difficult for us both the get away. The 150 miles each way means an overnight stay and one of us has to be here to ensure the animals have water 💦 that isn’t frozen❄️. So husband has gone on his own, giving me time to myself! 😁 I love being with him but also like some ME time!

I am no longer weighing & calculating and recording all calories and carbs…just weighing myself everyday and testing blood glucose every few days. All seems stable… another positive!

Pootle sounds like you have a perfect ‘handle’ on this way of life. Just keep the odd checks to make sure you’re within your personal limits.

🥦🍪🥗 Day 4 of my new plan. I have never started my ‘week’ on a Friday before as it’s always been Tuesday. I’ve been finding the weekend difficult in fact gave in to chocolate biscuits and even ate a frozen mince pie! Oh dear! Anyway today so far so good. Lunch was two eggs, smoked salmon, salad and Livlife bread with a smidgeon of mayo. I still feel full. Think my last two days have gone awry because I was hungry by dinner and just couldn’t stop! So my positive is that I recognise why my eating pattern over the weekend was flawed. I am putting it right now.

🛠️🫖🍳 Kitchen about to be ‘rejuvenated’ next week. Definitely a positive as we also don’t
have to empty all the cupboards only a handful. Nonetheless it’s a disruption but the outcome will definitely be a ‘positive’. Something to look forward to!

Hope you have positives. It’s always a bonus to find a positive especially when life is throwing ‘curved balls’.

Hi there, I too think my hubby needs a hearing aid although doctor says it is normal for a small loss without worrying about it. I think he just never listens. It is annoying when he watches the news and it say, for example, Trump said xxxx, then an hour later he reads the internet and tells me that Trump said xxxx. I get cross with him.

    My positives for today are@
    1. feeling a bit better though not 100%, maybe 75%. One day at a time.
    2. Lost another 2.5lbs so a total of 5lbs since 2nd Jan.
    3. Ordered a lovely backpack style carry on bag and not disappointed. It is everything I wanted it to be.

    Stay warm and safe.
