    Hi everyone
A new week as we power towards the end of October. Wendy has entrusted me to start off this weeks post while she jaunts off to Spain ( I hope you caught the train on time Wendy!).
I’d like to give a hello to all those who are watching from the sidelines but may never have posted. I’d like to encourage you to jump in, tell us how you are going, ask questions, discuss ideas – there are lots of people here to welcome you.
I have been watching some Ask Nurse Cindy videos the last couple of days to help keep me motivated. She is pretty fun, so if you don’t know of her she’s on FB and has lots of stuff on YouTube. She has reminded me to keep it simple – things that I know that work, don’t over stress it!
To all those in the North, I hope your Autumn is providing some lovely colours and bright crisp days. Here in the Southern Hemisphere Spring is coming along and my garden is looking green. I am enjoying it before the blast of dry dry summer comes and it all browns off.
    And hi Kafin!
And hi to all the regulars – I know I will miss some names so won’t try to list all of you 😀. But hello to some I haven’t seen for a while, Scottishgal, Tululah, DavidKnight, Articfox, Jamie, Elky – how are you?
Wishing you all a good week,
    MM

Hi Merry 🙂 and to everyone else if you’re reading!

I know I’ve been a bit on and off so thought I’d do a quick check in post. Onto my second week of the Fast 800, it is much easier than the first few days and lost 6lb overall. However, my time of the month is due this week and the scales are telling me so! Going to give myself a break from weighing until it’s properly finished and focus on the non-weight victories instead. Was getting a bit obsessive weighing myself every morning so it’s probably a good thing. I’m in light-moderate ketosis according to my breathalyser gadget which is motivating. I did take time off the gym the first week but will try out a couple of sessions now.
I saw that too Merry, it actually makes a lot of sense! I exercise in the late afternoons/evenings which does take a chunk of my day out after work. I’m definitely not a morning person however, so I envisage feeling unwell or having to sit down if I did a workout at 7am or similar 😂 but who knows, it may not be all that bad!

Thanks Merry, for taking up the reins. Good morning from Allie’s spare room in New England! Sorry I’ve not been around much in recent weeks. Since arriving here in Hartford, I’ve been eating Allie’s way and after 5 days, I can tell the belly bloat is going down! I’ve been struggling to find the motivation over the last few weeks but now I shall return home on Thursday with renewed determination and Xmas on the horizon! The colours are indeed magnificent here!

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Merry, thank you for setting the thread up this week, I’m sorry I have been a bit missing in action.

For no good reason I’ve been struggling to stay on track for the last little while, October has frankly been a complete bust for me. And I have a friend staying tonight and tomorrow night, and we’re going out to dinner, so that’ll be a knees up too. However, after that I really will try to pull my head in.

As Kazz said, Christmas is scarily close and I’m hoping that provides the impetus for a new burst of enthusiasm. Coming into summer—and bbq and salad season—should make it easier for me, not harder, so I’m not sure what my problem is. Just laziness I expect 😊

Fingers crossed for renewed motivation on Friday.

Have a grand day all, Elky

Hi everyone or should I say Hola 😉
Thanks Merry for keeping the thread going. I just posted on the Positives…Yes we made it to Gerona after a very frustrating day of train cancellations and delays . It was worth it though..it’s lovely here. Enjoying the atmosphere and walking lots through the historic centre and along the city walls. We have been doing salad lunches and having fish and veg dinners . You know how excited I get by fresh green veg and a splendid lettuce 🤣. We move on to Sitges tomorrow..fingers crossed the train journey goes smoothly. We are in a little hotel there so will need to seek out eateries. I will report back soon. In the meantime lots of love to everyone…I know you will find your mojo again…don’t ever give up xx

I’ve been a bit quiet this week. Lovely to read your post Butterlover, and to read how well your rehab is going. I hope you are back behind the wheel soon.
Hi Elky! I’ll admit to being a bit lazy too. I’ve been out for lots of meals lately, but do keep to LCHF at home ( and try to stay away from the dark chocolate!) Been crazy spring weather here, 33 one day and hailing cold rain the next. How’s Canberra?
Hi Strongcurves, I hope your second week has gone well and you are maintaining ketosis. All the best with your exercise! I missed a gym session this week and feel sluggish for it. Will try to do better!
And hi to Allie and Kazz. Sounds like you had a most enjoyable time together beautiful Hartford with good food a part of the pleasure. I miss your posts Allie🌸🌸
Wendy I do hope you and OH have a safe trip home in the bus ( hope it’s a comfy coach). Your trip sounds delightful, with those cosy hotels and fresh-food meals. Safe travels🚌🚌

Hi all – I’ve had a lovely week away, but a terrible week of not 800-ing. More like 10,000-ing – wah!
I’m pretty shocked that after seven pretty solid weeks – some slip ups, but mostly okay – I completely lost it. I’m hoping to take this as a learning experience and getting back on it today. I feel so good and even proud of myself when I am following the BSD. I have self-sabotage issues, no great surprises. I probs need to seek out some help on that.
I’m looking forward to getting back into my lovely eating and water regime today!
    take care all

    Hi All

I’m checking in because, looking back at what worked for me before my most recent falling off the wagon, I think regularly touching base with my forum friends may have been an important part of staying on track. So I’m going to try to do that again and hope for the best 😊

As planned, the end of last week was filled with fun dinners out and – I’ll be honest – I didn’t even try to stay low carb. But then I did not manage to pull myself back into line on Friday, nor over the weekend. Now it’s Monday morning for me and I’m planning that this week should mark the point where I get my act together again. Hence I’m posting here.

I’m planning to fast at least today (24 hours). I’m away from home with work on Thursday night, so I’m hoping to do Wendleg’s trick of fasting while travelling and fast on Thursday and Friday. I’m not sure whether I’ll find 48 hours a bit ambitious as I’ve really struggled with food recently, but I’ll give it a crack and see how I go. And in between, I’ll aim to stick to 800 cal/20 g. The weather is warming up, we’re supposed to get low 30s for most of the week, so should be perfect salad weather.

Merry, the weather has been topsy turvy here in Canberra too, and it’s been blowing a gale which has dried the garden out something shocking. I’m really hoping for nicer weather this week. (I’m actually down your way on Thursday/Friday, so hope you can turn on some good weather for me—though admittedly I’ll mostly see the inside of offices 😊)

Heiding, it sounds like a lot of us have been struggling a wee bit over the last little while – hope you got back on track as planned.

Hello to everyone else too <waves>.

    Onwards and downwards, Elky

    Hi everyone !
This should really be on the Positives thread as I am delighted to say we are on a bus travelling from Barcelona…plan B to manage the chaos on French railways and hopefully we will be home early evening. It has been a lovely break despite the challenges getting to Catalonia. I will be back to normal from tomorrow and will set up a new weekly thread ..hoping people will be happy to journey along with us . I haven’t had any major derailments…but still managed to sniff out my beloved dark choc in Spain…I have to break the coffee means choc habit ! I ordered a new coffee machine as a treat to myself after being messed about with transport 😉. I don’t do comfort eating any more..but comfort coffee slurping . I’m worth it 🤣🤣

Hope everyone is feeling motivated. Things are quiet. What can we do to cheer everyone up ?

    Hi folks

Dropping by because I said I would – hoping it helps me stay on track.

Yesterday was a good day, managed to stick to OMAD and it sat under 800 cal/20g. I’ll be honest and say it was a struggle, but hoping it gets easier again with perseverance and practice.

Wendleg, hope the last leg of the journey flies by and you’re soon home again.

    Cheers, Elky

Hi everyone! Glad your day went well Elky. All the best with your travel fast – and enjoy some sunny Melbourne weather while you are here.
I am trying for at least 3 days in a row of 800/20 – this Friday I have a long lunch out! The food will be OK, but there will be wine.🍷 Like you I think posting here does help keep me honest and a bit more on track!
Then hopefully once Cup Day is out of the way I’ll be ready for No-Nonsense! (In Melbourne we have a public holiday each year for the running of a horse race, The Melbourne Cup – a bit crazy) I have invited neighbours over that afternoon and will keep nibbles low carb friendly – but will still probably eat more that I need!

Hi Everyone.Im feeling good today lm down 1kilo and that after a restraunt meal and a slip up last night with a bread roll and too much butter. I had some problems lack of water and constipation last week which have resolved.Im really aware that success requires constant vigilance on all aspects , diet macros, water and Im not yet doing any excersie .Still im pleased Im down about 4kg in 5 weeks and plenty of actions I need to try to keep going.
I hope every one is doing well .keep the scales on the bench and never give in to cravings.cheers

Hi everyone.this thread has gone quiet again. So I hope everyone is ok.Im not doing so well .I gained 1kg due to a lack of vigilance. It seems that one small indulgence is the beginning of many more and within days Ive undone all my progress. So today its back to staying on plan. Also I had a couple of nights bad sleep.which Im sure had an effect. Today I see the dietician so I hope this will help.good luck to everyone.

Hi Butterlover, the weekly thread is replaced each week with a new thread. – The name format of the new weekly thread is slightly different but one was started on monday/tuesday this week.

I think a lot of the regular people are signing up on the new monthly thread. No nonsense November.
