Hi everyone, looking forward to seeing you all at some time on this new thread. Marvellous May had already been used so I changed it to Monumental and that feels good as we are going to have some monumental movement. In May it is getting warmer and we can get out of our winter clothes. But do we want to show off our bodies – well this year we do because we are proud of who we are no matter what lumps or bumps are there – and they are going to disappear soon enough.

Come and join us and be motivated by all the great people on this site. See you here.

Hi all, although no one has come on yet.

I need to take a new approach to my diet. I seem to be ignoring the small things like the afternoon snack, it might only be a slice of cooked chicken but then I might go back for another. This morning I cut out the Ryvita with butter that I normally have with my 2 boiled eggs and that has just saved 100 calories, plus a carb and fat. Husband is cooking fish tonight and I am having mine with a salad instead of with mushy peas (I know they are okay) and he always gives me a couple of chips, which I wont be having.

New motivation – lets see how it goes.

Im starting to feel a bit lonely here right now. I hope you are all just enjoying your weekend.

Diet is going well although one of the disadvantages of weighing daily is seeing the ups as well as the down. I find both quite motivating depending on my mood. I am human and sometimes when nothing moves or goes up I can get a bit peeved and sabotage things. However, we have to remember weight loss is not linear and changes in our bodies can give different daily results. The trick is to stick with it and have faith in yourself if you know you are doing all the right things.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, it will be my official weigh in.

    Hello!
Just managed to get online after a couple of days with almost no internet. Sorry you’re feeling lonely s-g. Afraid I can’t help out until we are back on land in 10 days. In the meantime hope everyone is doing well. I’m not telling!!!

Thanks for dropping in Verano, hope you are having a great holiday. I think everyone has abandonded ship here.

My weigh in yesterday showed half a kilo, so a total of 3.5 lbs. Out last night so didnt dare weigh again today, will leave it a few days.

Good news is my BG was right down to 70 this morning, hope that is going to be my normal and not just a glitch. I am using 32 units of insulin which is quite high but will give it a couple of days to see if BG settles before I start to reduce.

Hello, sorry I’m late but I’ve made it at last.
Well done Sunshine Girl on your loss and reduced BG, sorry we all abandoned you, I’m here now so you are no longer alone, and Verano will be back after enjoying her hols.
Had my nephews birthday party on Saturday, crisps which are my weakness and the thing I miss the most, then a chicken kebab (no pitta), so grilled chicken veggies and salad, it was delicious and hopefully not too bad, but I couldn’t escape the crisps 😢, then my partner caved on his healthy eating plan and so a Chinese takeaway was ordered, again I tried to be good, chicken, veggies etc, then on the Monday a family bbq, so lots of salad and meats, avoided the potatoes and bread rolls and the burger, and declined the cheesecake, so all in all a bad weekend, but Tuesday I was back on plan and today I have continued, I exercised over the weekend and am enjoying my running, going to join the gym so I can swim and strength train ready for my triathlon next month – yes I do always leave it till the last minute but I do them for fun not for a decent time, I just like to finish 😀.
Anyway a cuppa is calling me and food prep for tomorrow to be done before bed, weigh in on Friday (I know I’ve put on over the weekend, but will see what happens)

Hi Newbie, glad someone is joining me. Sounds as though you have been doing well to resist temptations.

Yesterday I made some cottage cheese bread – just cottage cheese, eggs and oats. It turned out very well but a bit more like brioche and hubby doesnt like it. I also made some courgette rings with parmasen cheese and managed to eat the lot. How bad can cottage cheese or courgettes be but I did have a small gain. Today I have been worse as I get fed up of thinking about what to make so I did homemade burgers (just mince, onions and flavourings) and had one brioche bun with some beans. Feel sure that will not do me any good.

I am seriously thinking of starting the paid Fast800. They are doing a 7 day trial then a 25% off for 12 weeks. I will have a look, I can always dip out if it doesnt suit me over the 7 days.

Hoping some more stragglers are going to join us soon.

I have just signed up for the paid Fast800 7 day free trial then the 12 week course. Straight away for 3 days in a row they are giving me fish with nowhere for me to say I am allergic. It looks like I will have to set my own menus so it really is a waste of time and money as I can do that already. If anyone has done this (was it you Newbie) where to I cancel.

Still not keeping to my current diet due to stresses. We have just cancelled one of the estate agents and today signed up with someone new. One problem is that she is French with no English – we managed, but it might be good as she will be dealing with French clients more than our other agent does.

Weekend coming up, hope you are all doing well.

Your recipes sound yummy and think i may need to try them, I love a courgette with parmesan and lemon juice just tastes so fresh. I weighed this morning and am now back to what I was last week before the bank holiday naughtiness so I’m happy with that.

I havent tried the online plan but have been tempted to try it as people seem to do so well on it, you would think it would have to say about allergies in order for the plan to suit you, could you substitute the fish for a different protein or would the recipes not work?
I’m sorry you had to cancel the estate agent, but like you say hopefully this new one will be better placed to get people in and may be more passionate about helping you sell.

A sunny weekend forecast here in England so hopefully I shall get out in the garden after park run tomorrow. Going to a friend’s this evening for craft night, I have a paint by numbers 😀, she’s doing chicken salad for dinner so that should be safe. Have a lovely weekend

Hi Newbie, I have been studying the new plan and starting to get the hang of swapping things around, and it gives suggestions as to whether it is similar cals, protein etc. Just takes a bit of planning and they give you a weeks menu so I can mess around with it before I go shopping. To be honest it is not much different to what I do now but all the meals are planned out for me so it takes that “what are we having tonight” pressure off. Now just got to find out if I can transfer the exercises to the TV rather than on the computer in a small room.

We still have our original agent but we took on someone else and in 8 months he has not brought a single viewing so I have told him we are cancelling. He was okay about it. In his place I have signed up an independent who only charges 3% as they have no overheads. Lets see how it goes.

I do paint by numbers and some of them are very intricate. Have also sent them photos and had them put onto canvas and done one of my grandsons and one of my and hubby on a cruise. I find it very relaxing.

    Enjoy the weekend.

S-g – just popping on to say that there are some Fast 800ers over on the other thread. Clarinet Cathy has been quite successful on it, and Dawn and DCT have been doing it as well, and Cathy is vegetarian so might have some tips about substitutions.

Hello & sorry about not posting & thank you for setting up this thread S-G. Two weeks ago I gained weight & was so shocked that I had crept over into 13 stone that I have tried really hard since last Monday to get back to recording what I am eating & again preparing low carb food. I am delighted to say that I have lost 3 lbs 😀. It is hard work but I am going to try much harder now 🤞🤞
My new focus now is one day at a time & trying to improve my amount of daily exercise. I have 2 & 3/4 stones to lose to get to my goal weight of ten stone however losing one stone before my French river cruise on Sunday 21st June 🤞🤞is my first goal.
    Good luck next week everyone

So busy reporting the whole of the Indian sub-continent posts. I never type REPORTED as it just brings them to the top of the page. Just keep reporting them.

Good to see you Margaret, I am not doing much better. 2lbs off, 1lb off, then 2lbs back on. So I have just joined the paid for site. It is taking a bit of time finding my way around it but I have joined to keep me accountable instead of just kidding myself. Anyway, the main thing is I am not having to think about what I am going to eat. Some of the meals dont suit like all the fish but I am working my way round substitutions. One good thing is you have a full weeks menus and it generates a shopping list, then if I go and change a meal it updates the shopping list. So it is all done for you. On this plan I write an menu then I type it into a chart I have made up, then the company that produces the chart changes and I have to start paying (Life360 etc) and I have to start again.

Thanks for the heads up arcticfox, I will chime up if I need help but I am just impatient and hate reading through all the instructions. I am the same when I buy something like a phone or music player – hubby has to read how to use it and tell me cos I cant be bothered with the technical stuff.

I will stay on this site and update on how I am doing.

Good morning all, It’s a cold windy day today in the UK. How’s the plan going S-G, have you tried the meals yet and any success with the exercises? I didn’t realise the plans came with specific exercises to do. So my weekend was good, I took my paint by numbers to my friends however we spent the whole evening eating chicken salad, chatting and putting the world to rights as us women do so well, so I shall save it till the next time. I manged to get a PB for my 5km parkrun Saturday and ran it in 28 minutes so I’m very happy with that, now to get to the gym this week and start training. I ate ok this weekend, could have been better but then we always can be can’t we, I think I’m wavering a little and need to be more strict with myself, still eating between 10am and 7pm so that’s one thing. I have a trip to Italy coming up so that will be interesting as I’ve never been before, how do I navigate that? just eat the best I can? but I so want to try the pizza and pasta 🙁 Friday I weighed in and the scales were kind and I lost all my pre-naughtiness weight, lets see how this week goes. Have a good one all 🙂

Hi Newbie, after much confusion and still finding my way around, I have settled in. Strict day yesterday 850 what they call fasting day. I have lost 3lbs overnight. Yes, fluid but a I am always on a diet I didnt expect that to happen. Did one set of exercises but they were seated so it took me a while to work out that because I said I hadnt been doing any exercise (true I have been lazy since my holiday) so it listed me as sedantary. Found where it was logged and changed it to something like fit to do standing exercise. So today I have a hiit session for just 5 mins. If I find it too difficult I will adjust me level again. it is all connected so if I cant eat something it will let me change it and it automatically changes everything, the calories, carbs etc and also my shopping list. Think I am going to get on well with it but I will still be here.

Shame we cant post photos on here, I have some lovely examples of paint by numbers.

Another loss today and still enjoying the recipes. Today I had yoghurt, blueberries and strawberries for breakfast and a caprese salad for lunch. I was just tomato, mozzerella and torn spinch with olive oil but it was so tasty. Also doing the exercises, todays is 25 mins of strength training. Not long but better than promising to do half an hour a day then doing nothing. Because this is right in front of you on your days plan it is easy to remember and just get on with it.

Hi all, just seen the cruise ship in Bordeaux with norovirus and hoping that Margaret (Wendy1947) is not on it.

So many scam posts it is getting impossible to find genuine posts about BSD or Fast800. I am well informed if I live in Mumbi and want my teeth sorting out. It is a disgrace.

Still enjoying the paid site and doing very well.

Come and join the few of us who are still here.

No I am not thank goodness S-G my cruise with Viking will be on 21st June & as they are one of the more expensive cruise lines I sincerely hope that their hygiene standards are as good as they were a few years ago on our Rhine cruise🤞🤞
My return to the BSD seems to be still going well with getting used to eating low carb food & MM’s recipes.
I hope everyone is doing well?

Good for that. Mostly the hygiene is down to the customers. Do they always sanitize or wash their hands after the toilet. Did they have an infection before they joined the ship. These are the things the cruise line cannot control. I know on our cruises (Cunard and P&O) they practically chase you around with sanitizers. We think our next cruise will be a river – possibly the Rhine or the Danube but not for at least next year.

Still doing well although my weight had a blip up but when I look at the date (middle of the month) I know that was always my time of the month and still after all these years I feel myself bloat up. So it should drop down.

The scammers and advertisers are still driving me mad. Maybe the answer is to keep posting on topic and not letting them stay at the top. Have a great weekend.

Good morning all, just reporting a little 1lb loss this week and the lightest I have been for 20+ years. I have been shopping and brought new clothes which is lovely. I feel like I am at a sensible weight now with maybe 3lb to go to cover my ocd symmetrical even number brain that I have and will allow myself a half stone wiggle room. My last hba1c blood test was 54 so I’m heading in the right direction, I shall either request one or pay privately for one in a few months to see if I am continuing to decrease it. Had yet another meal with cauliflower rice yesterday and I couldn’t eat it, i need another rice substitute.
Anyway, Sunshine-Girl it sounds like you are doing well with the online plan, how did you get on with the more advanced exercises? Monthly blips i feel will always play a factor in our gains and losses, but we just need to be mindful of this and not let it upset our overall losses. I have yoghurt, berries and granola for breakfast each morning and I really look forward to it, but I am going to try your caprese salad as I love it but never make it at home and yet it is so simple and flavoursome.
Wendy so pleased you are not on the infected cruise ship, it sounds terrible, but hopefully everyone isolating will be ok.
The sun is shining here and the washing is on, so a day of chores is ahead of me and maybe a bike ride, I’ve been struggling with a cold the last few days so I’ve not been able to run, but today it seems to be on it’s way out so all is good.
Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Hi Newbie, great about the 1lb loss and so close to your goal. I am sure your bloods will be good – not sure about the measurement you use but if you know thats all that matters. I do finger pricks in the morning and that measure in 2 different rates i.e. for me between 80 mg/dLand 120 mg/dL is good. Then I have my HbA1c and that measures 5.8 or 6.9 or whatever, so both different.

The exercises on this course at intermediate are not difficult – they are mainly resistance training with weights or push ups etc. The difference from the easy is that it was seated. Today I have a Pilates session and the only difficulty is my computer is in our little office which has a wooden floor so I will have to put down a duvet and then my exercise mat. I will also be straining to see the screen. As for the diet, it is the same as you can do on this if you use the BSD or Fast800 menus in the back of the books or even the recipes on this site. The difference is the whole day is planned out for you (you can adjust for preferences). For me I would have 2 boiled eggs but would also have a Ryvita with butter, lunch today was a chickpea, red pepper soup but again I would have a Ryvita. Since starting this plan I have not had any Ryvita. Hubby did grilled cod with a salad for me and chips for him, then he piled about 7 or 8 chips on my plate. Maybe before I would have been tempted but now I just put them on his plate – he had quite a bit to eat 🙂

Dont know where everyone has gone but for those following just keep on keeping on…

Very well done Newbie with your weight loss 👏👏 It is always such a good feeling buying new clothes😀
I weighed this morning & have lost 1.5lbs which I am pleased about & getting back into the routine of daily meal planning recording everything in my food diary that I am planning to eat before I do to check the calories. I have five weeks to go until my river cruise & have still to get out my summer clothes to check what I can still fit into but hopefully losing more weight will make them look better 🤞🤞. I have just booked an airport lounge at Gatwick because we will have to be there at 5am which will be horrendous because I am an owl not a lark & hate getting up so early!! Oh well one of the penalties of flying anywhere.
    Enjoy the weekend everyone

    Hello!
While I’m here thought I would just pop in and say ‘hello’.

We had an amazing cruise with probably the best service we’ve ever had. My fizzy water with a little ice and a slice was at the table almost.before we were ! Anyway, just one rough night but unlike you s-g no champagne at hand to dull the motion!
I must say that on this trip I’ve been finding it far more difficult to make reasonable choices now we are back on dry land,

I had an episode of my autoimmune disease for 48 hours so that hasn’t helped matters. But anyway I’m managing to find reasonably good low carb stuff now although I’ve had to resort to eating quite a lot of fruit to stay away from bread. I have to decide if I weigh as soon as I get home or wait a few days? Very difficult decision!

Hope everyone is doing well. Two thirds of the way through May so still time to make an impression and really make May Monumental. Best of luck to everyone. I’ll be joining in again for the last few days of the month.
    Happy Bank Holiday!

My weight loss for the week on the paid site is 3.5lbs. That is okay as I am always on a diet so not like someone just starting out. I did say I wanted to lose 1kg a month from mid April and I have already reached that as I weighed more mid April than I did last week. Going to keep going even after my free 7 days has now ended.

Verano, great to hear from you and that you had a great cruise. I know from experience that ours was particularly bad and quite unusual so will be looking for something for next year. As for your weight, I personally would weigh in as soon as I get back home as you will lose something after a few days just by normal eating and that will make you feel good about yourself. Then you can crack on with the diet at a convenient time i.e. I like to get a weekend over with.
