I’ve tried this before and it worked brilliantly but I’m an all or nothing person and unfortunately I’m still working o my ability to be able to socialise without using it as an opportunity to stuff my face. Then because I’ve broken my cycle of eating well I revert to eating junk and feeling ashamed so eat more junk to comfort myself (although that just leaves me feeling more ashamed). So I’m using this forum as a diary for my journey (I read these forums every night and I’m massively in awe of everyone who is succeeding on this way of eating). I’m type 2 with a recent hba1c of 52, so I really need to do this. I have around 20lbs to lose so i intend to weigh on every Friday and I’ll keep it documented here.
    Today’s weoght= 151lbs
Sorry for going on and on, Stacey

Hey Stacey – I recognise the ‘Mrs getting there’ monica from previous posts on other threads. Sorry to read that you have been struggling to hold on to the BSD principles in social situations – it’s certainly not an easy thing to get a good grasp on and is one I too have battled at times. Very pleased to see you back with us to tackle the issues you have identified and hopefully this time round, you will be able to get your T2 under control and get rid of those 20lb.

Making a fresh start by getting back to basics and making yourself accountable here, is a great way to tackle things and of course, you will have the support and encouragement of all of us in your endeavour. We will look forward to reading your posts and results as you progress. Best of luck to you.

Hi I’m starting tomorrow!!! Had two awful weeks of eating everything and anything! Wasn’t brill before that! Can’t start to tell you how I feel but need to move forward and crack on with this last 18 lbs. This would put me where I should be and was two years ago! Don’t we get ourselves into some right old pickles, mentally and physically! Going to bed tonight on a full tum, having splurged for the last time !
Weigh day tomorrow, tape measure out too. Anyone with me ?

Hi skinny jeans, hope your first day is going well. I had a great day yesterday, 550 cals eaten and 29g carb. This wasn’t my intention, I had planned to eat up to my 800 cals but the night ran away with me so ended up going to bed on an emptier stomach.
Today has been slightly harder in that my children and husband are eating (how rude!!) and I’m in the kitchen more making them breakfast , dinner, snacks etc. Having said that,so far so good!! I’m trying to fast until lunch time then save the majority of cals and carbs for the evening, I’ll see how that goes. Good luck everyone xx

Today is day 4 for me and so far so good! Yesterday I ate just over 800 cals and 45grms of carb and today I’ve eaten 720cals and 29grms carbs and I’m not at all hungry tonight which is lovely. My head was a bit heavy yesterday which im putting down to carb flu?!? but I feel ok today so I’m hoping that’s passed now fingers crossed. My aim is to go straight to the gym after school drop off in the morning, so I’ll see how I fair afterwards, I’m looking forward to the burning fat phase! Had a sneaky peek at the scales and they are moving in the right direction (yey!) So I’m actually looking forward to weigh day on Friday for once. Good luck everyone xx

    Week 1 weight – 147 lbs
    Start weight -151 lbs
    Weight loss – 4 lbs
I’m absolutely thrilled with this loss, I haven’t felt deprived once and have rarely felt hungry. I’m mindfully eating which is another of my weaknesses normally (just eating on the go or picking off the kids plates etc). Fingers crossed I keep going because I’m little miss self sabotage at times. Got to say too that my clothes feel nicer on! Still lumps and bumps but that’s work in progress. Good luck everyone! X

Good going Mrs getting there! It’s being mindful that is important to avoid grazing on all sorts of stuff without conscious thought – a pit many of us drop into from time to time. Please that you are already feeling more comfortable and those lumps and bumps will be melting away, as long as you keep going.

Best of luck to you as you progress.
