    Hi Wendleg
Thank you for starting another thread, I would like to join!
I mostly would like to ensure sticking to the 800 per day and also finding a way to reduce the carbs. I will be trying some more recipes from the book. I also found a sight called I love umami dot com which has beautiful Asian recipes that can be fairly easily adapted to the BSD.
My progress last week was good until I went to a big party on Saturday (all day). I didn’t drink at least. I am continuing to learn, however, and will add that to my collection of experiences. I will also go for at least three gym visits (classes).
All the best to everyone for this week!

Hi folks, checking in after what feels like a long absence. Goodness there are people here I don’t “know” yet – hello all!

In a moment of solidarity with my northern hemisphere friends, I decided to come down with flu just as we enter what’s shaping up to be a hot dry spring here. As you do. As a result, I have spent the last fortnight trekking from bed to sofa and back again, box of tissues under one arm and kindle under the other.

I would like to say that was good from a discard point of view, but alas that’s not the case. I went from having no appetite to eating anything I fancied. So, I’m afraid I have a wee bit of damage to undo now that I’m back in the land of the living… Ah well, it’ll happen, eventually. My goal for this week is therefore just to get back on track.

Hope everyone else is going well, and I’ll contribute more regularly now that I’m human again.

    Cheers, Elky

Good to see you back with us Elky and very sorry about the bout of flu. Take it easy, I understand it is very debilitating and takes quite a bit of time to get back to normal. I wonder if articfox has been ill too ?
Hi heiding ! Crikey an all day party ! You certainly know how to live it up in Oz 😉 Well done on the booze avoidance . Wishing you a great week !

    Hi everyone
I don’t quite know where I belong at the moment so thought I would tag along here.
I returned from our holiday in Spain just one pound up! I kept the carbs very low and portions sizes small though did drink a lot of gin and red wine!. I took my ketone sticks with me and found I stayed between a trace and small amount of ketones each day. ( I didn’t take my breathalyser with me as obviously the results would have been very confusing!)
My aim is to lose a stone and a half before we go to USA for Christmas with our son and family and intend to continue with keto/BSD eating along with egg fasting as this has worked best for me over the past couple of months.
    Best wishes to all

Butterlover, nuts !! Tell me about it ! Healthy , “devilishly delicious but calorific “is I think how Esnecca once described them. I have to be really careful. It’s so easy to lose sight of quantities unless I pre weigh and do not stray ! I have started dry roasting a few sunflower seeds .I like the crunchy, toasted taste and they are nice over a green salad.
I stall for long spells but then see a slight drop…then stall but it’s ok. Don’t let that discourage and deter you. Keep you eye on the prize of improved health xx

I love macadamia nuts so much! I nearly bought some yesterday – or cashews, even almonds but I just can’t trust myself. Portion them out? Fat chance (pun intended!). Same thing with parmesan cheese. Why grate it when you can just scoff the lot? Oh well. I am still paying dearly for Saturday’s party (yes Wendleg, here and there we do have good parties 🙂 ) so I’m generally lying low and eating veggies and quietly willing the scales to please go back down to where they were! Sunflower seeds are yum – I haven’t tried roasting them before, I might give that a go, thanks Wendleg!

I have discovered another NSV. – Had a big group staying in the holiday accommodation for a birthday party at the weekend, who left lots of lost property including jumpers behind. – My NSV is that I am now small enough that I don’t automatically just sort unclaimed left behind clothes into 2 piles, charity shop or bin. There is a third pile, clothes that will fit me.

I just gained a nice warm sweatshirt this way.

JGwen you made me think of other NSVs. I had a dental appointment a few days ago after a longer lapse than I normally have. However, all was good, which made me think lack of sugar in both food and drinks is keeping my oral health good too! Don’t know if anybody else has found this?

Love it JGwen, preloved woolies and sweatshirts ! Your guests were thoughtful, leaving behind warm clothes rather than their crisps and buns 😉 I remember the comment of the cleaners who arrived as we were leaving our Brighton Airbnb earlier this year ( there were 14 of us) They told us it normally takes them an hour (!!) just to pick up discarded litter ! How rude is that ! Honestly we would never have dreamt of leaving a mess. So I feel for you JGwen. It must be a mammoth task clearing up after each group and fortunately your improved health and increased energy is making it more manageable.

I hope the week is going well for everyone. I am continuing with my light exercise, aqua gym, yoga and keep fit for the over sixties. I have some sore bits today but it definitely feels good to be moving. Not quite soup weather here yet so still enjoying my salad greens. I eat them all year !
    Thinking of you all x

Well a very good morning to you all and thank you Wendy for setting up the new weekly thread. I am back as I know that not being here has not helped me! So here I am 7lbs heavier but committed again to discard it!

Jgwen what a fab NSV mine is a month and three days without fags but two new winter coats with the money I have saved😇😅😀❤️❤️. I need to find some more NSV’s as I am not discarding at all! I know I need to relax and not worry too much but I can’t as I feel bloated from my carb intake lately. I have started a butter beef fast as it is supposed to help get rid of the carb cravings, second day in and I made my OH leave the club last night as I was eyeing up the crisps🤣🤣. Didn’t have any and ate my mince when I got in instead!phew!!

I hope all of you are well and I have booked two classes at my new gym for Monday! Finally I have time to actually use it.

See you all soon 💞🦜 Birdy xx

We are all immensely proud of you Birdy for cracking the nicotine habit .You show tremendous determination whatever the challenges and you will soon discard those 7lbs which are no big deal in the grand No Smoking scheme of things. Stay with us so you can let us know how you get on. Just relax, be confident in your strength to see this through I have never heard of a butter beef fast but if it helps you cope with any cravings, go for it !
It’s been a beautiful weekend here so I have been gratefully doing lots of washing Just enjoying a relaxing time ….no prep, no marking .
No change on the scales as yet but I am moving more and I am happy to be feeling slightly more supple 😉
I hope you have all had a good weekend xxx

Wendy thank you and I am glad you are feeling more supple 😂❤️. I am feeling a little bloated today!! I know this is because I didn’t drink enough water yesterday. I had the in laws over for Sunday lunch yesterday so broke my beef and butter fast because I had veggies😂😂. I am restarting it today as my OH is away for three days now and I am going back to nights on Wednesday. Makes my cooking life easier😂😂. I hope you have all had a good weekend? How you feeling butterlover? Are you back on track? We are all here hun if you need us. Right off to drink some water 💦 😂❤️ Love and hugs Birdy 💞🚭🦜

If it’s ok with everyone I will keep this weekly thread open for a few more days as then school holidays are coming up and I will be ‘absent’ for a short while.
Is there anyone available who would be happy to take over the thread ? If there is still a place for the weekly thread of course ? It is not as active right now as lots of people seem to favour a monthly target ?
I am looking forward to a week in Northern Spain (Girona and Sitges) I can guarantee I won’t be eating any paella though ! Hopefully some delicious fish. A big bonus for me is that we will be travelling by train ..so no stressy car journeys 😉
Please keep checking in for the time being xxx

    Morning/afternoon/evening to everyone

Just doing a quick check in, hope everyone is having a good week so far! I’m on day 3 of a new Fast 800 week, challenge via Fast800Mama on Instagram. It’s been quite good knowing there’s so many others completing it.
I won’t lie, have been very hungry at points so it can be a struggle. Probably need to up my fat intake. Been having nuts, milk in the coffee and tea, olive oil, pesto, full fat cheese etc but maybe not enough. Weight has been discarded a pound a day so far. I don’t mind too much as it’s a steady decrease but happens quickly. A week will hopefully mean 7lb off! I do have a meal out on Saturday but hopefully will be able to check out the menu once I know which restaurant we’re going to. Maybe some nice meat and lots of veggies will be possible.
Brain fog has been happening too but I’m on the third day so hopefully it will pass soon.
So that’s my week so far, wishing you all the best for the days ahead! Xx

Hi Heiding …any discard is good, however small so stay positive. Things are very slow for me now but I just keep going 😉

Hi Butterlover..no.. pizza is not such a good choice for you ! You are back on it now and that is the main thing …

Hi Strongcurves. I have never heard of that challenge as I don’t use Instagram but if it motivates you, that’s great. I would say a pound a day discard is a fantastic result ! I certainly don’t achieve that any more.
Yes, checking out the restaurant menu is good for damage limitation so you are prepared and you can ask for veg or salad instead of chips etc. I am going to Nothern Spain next week so will be scouring menus constantly 🙂 It’s good to hear you sounding positive Strongcurves. Definitely keep going !

The weekly thread has gone really quiet.I hope everyone is ok. Looks like I have unwittingly moved into maintenance mode after very very slow progress lately but still staying focused on feeling healthier and more energetic.
I am off to Spain tomorrow hoping to dodge any Catalan protests.
I won’t be around for the school holidays but if anyone wants to pick up ths weekly thread, please do . Sunny B ? Birdy ?? Merry ?
I will be checking in as November begins, crikey !!!
Love to everyone and just keep going xx

Oh thanks Merry that would be great !

Bit of a panic this morning as our first train was cancelled ( unplanned rail strikes in France) so we have hurriedly booked an earlier one. Fingers crossed we can catch our connection to Gerona !!
I will check in when I am a bit less stressed !
