I keep getting amazed with how I’m going over carbs and calories and then when I actually go to the packaging of the product I just scanned the carbs and calories listed are completely wrong compared to what is on MyFitnessPal – is anyone else finding this?
Particularly with Waitrose I’m finding. It’s hugely frustrating.

Any tips on alternative apps would be welcome.

    Thanks
    Nikki

    Nikki, I use FatSecret…………………http://www.fatsecret.co.uk/

I don’t think heir calorie / carb content is too far out, it’s geared to the UK and you can scan your own stuff in, so it adds the manufacturers nutritional content and adds it to the database. I’ve never done that, but I believe there is the facility to do so.

Thank you Fedora – I’ll look at the app and go from there.

I paid for the full version of MyFitnessPal but I’ll end my subscription if FatSecret is better.

    Thanks again

In case you’re still looking for an alternative: I use YAZIO and have only made good experiences with the calories/carbs – so far they’ve always been accurate. This is the link to their website: https://www.yazio.com/en/calorie-counter

There are many similar calorie counter apps, but the one I liked the most is https://proper-eating.com/. It follows the principle of palm-sized portions, has a very simple interface, and includes a water tracker. It’s a great alternative to Yazio.
