He’d better watch his back, lol.

Right then you lot. I’m off now and probably won’t get the chance to log on again this side of my holiday.
Wish me luck!
-

-
Grrr hunger bites 🙁
-
Timmy – enjoy!
Gav – stay focussed. Drink some water or have a handful of flaked almonds. Going over by a few cals won’t harm your progress.
Tokyo – stop walking about please!
-
TIMMY Happy holidays to you and Mrs Timmy x
GAVIN Maybe some celery sticks? X -
Hope you have a great holiday… and welcome to the BSD Mrs Timmy😊
-
Oh damn it got logged out again now got to do a major read up to catch up, thought I’d gone into the twilight zone, as I wasn’t having any little bleeps to tell me you are all there.👾👾👾

Nope you have all gone feeling lonely now I will just hang around until you are all back which I expect will be when I am at the supermarket
-
Oh dear, don’t feel lonely Janet, we will all be around later! Just home from work and am pooped! Gave in to a small square of dark chocolate to revive me ☺️
-
Really tough going this afternoon. The hungriest I’ve been since I first started. Somehow managed with water… thanks for all your support !
Sat down and eaten chicken & veg. Chicken coated with basil, parmasan & finely chopped almonds. Photo in my tweet below.
-
Well you got thru GAVIN,congrats, funny how some days are harder than others…and yr meal looks lovely! X
-
Thanks Yowser49. It is bizarre how some days when you think you might feel flaky you’re fine and then like today for no logical reason I felt like crap.
-
So lovely people, anyone got any recipies they love for a chicken curry? Really fancy one tomorrow, already have the cauliflower rice 😀 I’ve looked in the recipe section and can’t find anything, I’ve got most things in just don’t know where to start. Quite fancy marinating the chicken in something.
What are folks favourite dishes they’ve tried on this eating plan?
-
I was going to ask what I missed but… I’ve just read and I have no comment!
Have a good holiday Timmy, ROCK that banana hammer, cocker!
Sorry you were having a hungry day Gavin, your tea looks stunning! I find some days it beggars belief how much I manage to scoff for 800 and other days… I get nothing. Cheers for the follow too 🙂
Tigger I have curry recipes on my blog, but they are a bit faffy, recreations of Indian Restaurant type curries. You have to make a base sauce first which takes about an hour of cooking. It’s apparently my 4th most popular post since 2009… 🙂 http://flusteredshell.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/recipe-indian-fakeaway-chicken-tikka.html
I won’t make one any other way now though.
Favourite has probably been the meatballs I’ve had tonight, think we’ve had them 5 times since I started. Not a forum recipe, I just trawl and adapt lol. Oh and the chicken shawarma I nabbed from the WW magazine a couple of weeks ago. That was lush too. That actually is worthy of another make.
Hello everyone else and sorry if I’ve missed anything! 🙂
-
Thanks Lucky, might try making the base sauce this weekend when I have a bit more time. The curries do look lovely 🙂
-
Thank you! If you use a massive pan for the base you’ll get loads of curries out of them. I freeze the base in plastic takeaway trays and then I can have a cracking curry in 30 minutes. This was pre BSD though so they may have to be adapted or amended a bit. Ok, no may, will… lol. I need to look into this because I’ll be expected to host a curry night soon… might be time to do a BSD friendly version 🙂 (any excuse for curry)
-
I have plenty of those takeaway plastic trays 😀
-
Me too, although of late they have been bought empty from Poundland 🙁 meh. Ah well, it was full ones that contributed to the mess I’m currently in 😉
-
Me too Lucky – but we’re trying to fix it 🙂
-
Breaking news just back from Lidl, no chocolate, no cake, no bread, but wait for it two enormous jars of pickled gherkins, yum my emergency snack, yum yum, mind you I couldn’t get the lid unscrewed, husband had to have a grapple with it. Weeks menu all shopped for, good week ahead, nodding my head, to convince myself. 😀😀😀
-
Yayyyyyyyyy Jan! Well done for surviving ‘the shop’ 🙂 I bloody love gherkins, I could just sit and eat the jar. I had some lovely ones last year, they were crinkle cut ready and I can’t remember where I got them. That’s good thinking about them as an emergency snack! I’ll have to remember that 🙂
Indeed we are, Tigger 🙂
-
where have you walked too today lucky ?? london!! i thought i had done well till i saw your steps i shall get you tomorrow !!!
-
I love gerkins to – forgot about them, thanks for reminding me
-
Haha 😉 I only did 2 x 10 minute stints on treadmill when I had things in the oven, and then a 20 minute one before the rugby started. All the rest has been pottering and shopping! My legs hurt though 🙁 perhaps a day of rest might have been nice inbetween duels 😉 I’m done for the day though. How was your day? Did you find vegan cake? 😮
-
My favourites are the tiny ones, but they are so expensive and I can eat a jar no prob, while I’m cooking dinner, but I only ever buy them in aldi or Lidl as they are overpriced elsewhere, mind you I brought two jars of chilli ones ooh no, I quite like chilli but not these, they are unopened anyone want them😕🌶🌶🌶🍆🍆🍆🍆didn’t have a gherkin, collection only as they are big jars.🍆🍆🍆🌶🌶🌶🌶
-
fine had my ladt accupuncture for a while we are waiting to see what happens if i dont have any!!! she was telling me about a course of treatment she does for backs theres a point just below your thumb she puts needle in and leaves and she has had some real successes with it !!
found vegan shop it was like vegan heaven so got lots of little bits for sister in law !!! -
Chilli gherkins? They sound design vine! Can I just say that’s what my iPad just autocorrected ‘they sound divine’ to… 😳
Where do you find those Jan???? -
Vegan heaven, huh? 😶
-
I have an amazing chiropractor who does acupuncture as well – the needles send you into a state of bliss, then he yanks your head nearly off.
I must be his worst customer – I probably saw him the first time about 20 years ago – he is so good, I go to see him, he sorts whatever the problem is then I don;t need to go back for the next three years or so.
-
Oh, I don’t know Frog, that’s pretty much a glowing endorsement there. If he was rubbish, you’d never go back 🙂
-
My curry last night was super fast Lucky – the butchers near my sister do a brilliant range of curry sauces (fairly small production, so not tons of gunk, bit carby, lentil is 14grams and 160 calories) added the rest of the chicken that I cooked earlier in the week, and steamed the spring greens.
Divine – just as well I’m not too close to a ready supply though! -
Can’t beat a proper curry sauce, can you? I think I could, quite happily, eat curry ever night.
-
Aldi bexhill on sea Sussex, bit of a way for you to pop over, but I expect all Aldiss will have them as I nearly made the mistake of buying some in Canterbury aldi. I think they bulk purchased the wrong thing as they have loads, and no one is buying them. For some reason the chilli makes them a bit soft, so not very gherkin like, and for an old dear like me who buys things without my specs on, and the word chilli is really small, it’s a selling tactic, so makes it easy to make a mistake. Hehe
-
Oh I so agree with that, my chiropractor has kept me going, I really think if everyone had access to one, the health of the nation would go through the roof, mind you made the mistake decades ago by going to a osteopath, that resulted in 5 weeks in bed on an enormous concoction of drugs, the chiropractor, once I was on my feet sorted me out.
-
Only at night, what’s wrong with curry for breakfast.
-
I might give them a try, never know unless you try, do you? 🙂
Absolutely nothing, and I must say the morning after a curry night before, with a stonking hangover, I have had leftover Vindaloo or Madras for breakfast 🙂 Works wonders!
-
Lucky have you started a recipe thread yet, can’t see one
-
I started a blog Jan 🙂 Only two posts in so far, got another to do tomorrow, I’m too tired tonight, not far off bed… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
-
Thought it would be easier to do a blog than a thread, posting pics etc and me rambling on, you know 😉

Night all, sweet dreams x
-
Morning all! Had weigh in today ,day 23.have lost 21 lbs. ..a stone and a half in three weeks. Who knew dropping carbs was so effective! x
-
Well done Yowser49. It’s amazing how much you’ve lost.
-
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yowzer! Well done lovely, that’s a fab weight loss, nearly a pound a day! I think we all wish we’d found this sooner, be it months, weeks or decades!
And guess what? Stick the kettle on and brew up a pot of hurrah for at least two, because I am joining you in one AGAIN today! It is Day 56. My final day on the plan.
I started Saturday June 11th weighing 17 stone 9 lbs and I shall finish the 8 weeks today, and my final weigh in is …
15 stone 1 lbs. I was hoping for my 2 and a half stone in 8 weeks, I’ve got 2 and a half stone and an extra pound.
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Any newbies, even people as far in as you Yowzer, who might think that 8 weeks seems an eternity away, trust me, once week 2 – 3 is over, it will flyyyyyyyyyyy. I’ve never known time to go so fast. I’m looking forward to starting my 2nd cycle of BSD800 tomorrow, I am looking forward to the challenge of camping while doing it, and I’m looking forward to more laughs with you all through the summer and into the autumn 😀
-
Great news Lucky!!!
I have a question. You mention you are doing the 8’weeks BSD again. I was planning to moving to the 5:2 BSD after the 8 weeks. Is there any risk in carry on with another lot of 800 cal a day? From what I know (very little) the 5:2 BSD is 1,500 cal for 5 days (same low carb) and then 2 days at 600 cal.
-
Thanks Gavin 🙂
To be honest, I don’t know if there’s any risk. The friend who told me about this diet is a nurse of some decades experience and I know that she carried on longer than the 8 weeks until she was at a weight she was happy with and then moved to 5:2. She was nowhere near as large as I was/am though. But still, big for her, with quite a dramatic weight gain over a couple of years. Does anyone here know if it poses a risk?
I know I can’t carry on with it indefinitely, but to be honest with you, I feel fine on the amount of food I’m eating? I just can’t eat the same as I used to, I don’t want it. Even with reduced portions, I’m leaving food on my plate most nights as I’m full. And the thought of eating double the amount of food as I am now for 5 days a week, isn’t appealling to me at all. And neither is the 600 calories, because pre BSD I did an alternate day fasting plan for 5 weeks. That was carte blanche/500 calories a day, and the 500 calorie days were a nightmare, so I shouldn’t think 600 calories would be that much better tbh.
I’ve got a wedding in mid September, and I want to keep on until then. I think it falls on the start of week 7, and it’s going to go spectacularly wrong then anyway as it’s… afternoon cream tea… fish and chips… and speciality ice creams… She asked me if I needed her to cater for hubby and I’s diet and I swore at her and told her the thought of the wedding food was keeping me going. Lol.

Congratulations LUCKY * blows a fanfare* two- and – a – half – stone! Get out of here! Thats amazing! And many congrats on reaching the end of the 8 week cycle * thunderous applause*🎵 🎈 💕🎵🌷💕🎵👏🏽🎵😀
