I’m here. Just too late by the looks of it! Lucky, I’ve been for a night stroll with the OH after my friend went home. Walked off the lovely curry and spoonful of Oppo (made my friend try it.. Big thumbs up!). Ok you beat me on the steps today but I’m heartened by the fact that I’ve managed to get a few thousand steps in since my Jawbone was activated this afternoon. Mine’s running through my iPhone by the way. OH was quite impressed by the new gadget and is keen to help me get more active. Coooool 👍🏼

    I’m being buzzed about bedtime…

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I see. Like that is it, Janey? Stealth competitor? 😉 Well done. Get the feeling we’ll be sneaking little walks in here, there and everywhere to get this step count up, which can only be good for both of us! It’s a week long duel, daily steps don’t count only in the bigger picture 😉 Can you imagine the last ten minutes of this duel if we’re neck and neck? That will be intense haha. Glad you had a good evening with your friend and your curries were a success. Good old Oppo, I gave some to my Mum yesterday, and even she agreed it was just like a premium ice cream, and if she’d been served it she’d never have known it was ‘good for you’. I thought she’d go a bit pale at the price, but even she said I had to look at all the things I wasn’t buying now that I was following BSD and to have a treat that’s acceptable AND tastes nice, you couldn’t put a price on it.

Not a good day here today. Neighbour kept us up again last night until gone 2. I don’t know what was being done to her but she was screaming with laughter one minute and then shouting that something was hurting her. Hubby ended up sleeping on the sofa. He’s had 7 minutes of sound sleep, according to UP. It’s ridiculous. I’m going to have to confront her because I can’t keep going on like this. I don’t like conflict and she tends to surround herself with… people who thrive on it, let’s just say. Scary people. So whether a rational discussion can take place or not is debatable, I’m potentially going to be turning myself into the enemy here and I won’t lie, it terrifies me. If I think I am in the right I can hold my own against any ONE person, I can be reasonable, I can counter any arguments they have. But if they’re going to be ‘bringing their mates’…? I’m too old for that sh*t. All I want is a quiet life and a little bit of consideration, especially once the clock has turned midnight. Anyone knows, surely, that if you behave like that, at that time of the night (morning) you know, you HAVE to know, that you’re going to be disturbing people. Don’t you?

And I’m up again on the scales. Back up to 98.6 kg today, so I’m nearly up 2 lbs from Tuesday. This is where I know I should take my own advice and pep talks. I’m eating right, I’m going to the loo regularly. I’m moving – maybe not my 10,000 a day but considering how sedentary I have been in the past, I’m doing better. It’s too soon for a lady pound. Hubby has eaten exactly the same as I have and he has stayed the same for 3 days. It could be anything. But when you’re 2 days off weigh day and you’re almost back to last week’s weight it’s disheartening to say the least. So, in future, anyone please feel free to tell me to shove my pep talks where the sun doesn’t shine.

Yayyyyyyyy well done Tokyo! Well on your way to your next goal now 🙂 And a step closer to the JOTF fitting you!

Oh don’t worry about me, it’s not my proper weigh day, it’s my decision to weigh daily, isn’t it? If I didn’t I wouldn’t have been any the wiser about it. I know it can change in a heartbeat, you’re right. And it might be time to start keeping check of the carbs, although to be honest, it’s something I could do without at the moment. I find it taxing enough thinking about what we’re going to eat and being on the ball for that, and counting the calories and weighing and measuring. I know there’s apps that do it but I just can’t get the hang of them. I suppose I’ll have to, won’t I!

It’s getting beyond a joke and if I don’t pull her up about it, she’ll just keep pushing it further and further, getting worse and worse. But I’m dreading poking at the hornet’s nest. She doesn’t bother me as such because I’ve locked horns with her before, but it’s who she associates with that worries me. Who and what I’ll be taking on. You have to think about that when you’ve got kids, don’t you?

Big well done again, you’re doing great. Hope your UP comes today! x

Morning all, today’s wardrobe is brought to you by the previous decade! I am wearing a pair of trousers that I believe I bought/last got into BEFORE my son was born.. And he’s 10!! Pale chino type wide leg trousers and they’re ON!!! Easily. Probably look better than when I bought them actually. Jawbone woke me up, seemed to be at the right moment as didn’t feel like hell (even though curry kept me awake last night!)
Neighbour situation isn’t good Lucky. Confrontation is awful, but a quiet word when she’s not surrounded by morons is better than calling the police. Which is your next stop I’m afraid.

Anyway, sun is shining. I have steps to take in our duel!!

Woooooooooo Janey, well done! Isn’t it amazing that we’ve finally found something that works on the ‘I’ll keep this for when I lose weight’ clothes?? I’ve got a wardrobe full of those clothes! I’ve got a lovely red dress too that I was last in when I was pregnant with the one who turns 13 in September. So many times I’ve been so despondent I’ve thought about just chucking them all in a bin bag and getting rid, thinking I’ll never get in them We have hope, ladies! We have hope.

My ‘baby’ is 10 today, he’s just opened his cards 🙂

I’ll have to give it a try Tokyo. I have the app on my iPad, I’ll have a tinker around with it later. So tired again.

I have a feeling you might pass me today Janey, I’m rooted to my chair drinking my second coffee.

Ooo definitely my fitness pal Lucky, it’s waaaaaaay easier than working it out yourself and you can add common meals on one button press once you’ve added them in under “my recipes” I’m telling you it makes you want to eat one of the things you’ve logged just to keep it simple 😂😇

Wouldn’t worry about going up (I know you’re not really) as it goes down again quite randomly as long as no bad carbs involved I’ve decided. I’m actually a bit suspicious of chick pea flour at the moment As any time I have it even in allowance me weight goes up. Or maybe it’s in not great at keeping to the amount I can have of the chick pea stuff!!!

The neighbors sound rude and head wrecking and if they are the scary type I wouldn’t even think about it just ring the police straight away. Let them do their job, why should you have to handle that crazy lady if she’s not the type to be reasonAble. Is there a house on the other side? Maybe she ll think its they complained! Not that it matters but just if she planning revenge🤓😳

Hope you get it sorted as no doubt you will. Sleep is important for weight loss apparently!

Janey – great on the chinos wooooooo

Tokyo yippee for weight loss – I seem to have said that to you recently so it must be going well!😄
Hee hee about cat, secret life he has😆

Painful stupid cramps today but on the up side good bye lady pound!(Hopefully) didn’t bother to weigh myself as feeling too bad. Porridge bread will save the day i feel! So much for this healthy life style, minimal sugar and no gluten getting rid of cramps, i wait every month for improvements and get my hopes dashed! I always knew the exercise more myth was rubbish as have always done loads and it never made the slightest bit of difference to pain – in fact if I do too much it gets worse. Ah well, there’s always next month! 🤓😬😀

Morning campers. My one question about OPPO is, is it as good as Joe’s Ice Cream? I already know the answer to that, which is no obviously, but is it nearly as good? To be honest, any ice cream that is nearly as good as Joe’s would be up there with the top 10 in the world.

If you don’t know what Joe’s ice cream is, then shame on you! Get in the car NOW and drive to Swansea and ask anyone “scuse me butt, can yew tell me where Joe’s is to?” and any, ANY person from within a 30 mile radius of Swansea will be able to give you explicit directions to either the town or Mumbles one. Buy a small one scoop tub (well we are on a diet), and then know the best ice cream in the entire world.

Anyway I digress. Borrowed one of those belt hole maker thingies from my father in law at the weekend and put a new hole on my belt to make it tighter. Put it on this morning and it feels bloody loose! Will have to put another notch on later!

The speedos were on last night Tokyo. Did a mile in the pool. Annoyingly there was a faster person in the pool last night and I was forced to give way. I hate not being the fastest person in the pool. Grrrrr. Anyway it was the first full mile that I’ve done in a few month, so was pleased with that!

Also didn’t manage to make any yoghurt yesterday. Got home and my kids had eaten the frikin lot! That’s 1kg of yoghurt polished off in 3 days. I think I’m going to need to buy another yog making pot! I’ve left the wife and kids with strict instructions to make another kg of yoghurt this morning under pain of death. If I haven’t got it for my breakfast in the morning there will be hell to pay!

I’m in the middle of a block of three Eps. Everyone in the street has heard them, even the neighbours the other side of me. But it’s the same old thing, everyone moans, nobody wants to be the one to complain to the authorities, expecting me to do so alone. The thing is with the Police, you then get labelled a ‘grass’ don’t you, you have to remember these aren’t people who generally give a crap about the Police or any other authority anyway. If they did – like me – it would deter this sort of behaviour in the first place. So I feel like I’m in a bit of a Catch 22 at the moment. I could pursue it through the council and the police, but I’ll end up making so many enemies in order to restore peace, that I’ll end up too scared to leave the house. Pointless. It’s a crap one. I’m going to have to think hard about how to approach it so as not to exacerbate things. We are… friendly, if that’s the right word. In that it’s easier to be on her good side than bad. Maybe it would be better to approach things in a nicey nicey manner than all guns blazing.

Yep, everything I’ve eaten has been good, it’s just sometimes when I gain, I almost wish I’d eaten pizza or cake lol, and at least then it would be justified. It will be gone soon. Hope your cramps disappear soon, I suffer badly first couple of days, it’s awful. I find that walking helps sometimes but I would never feel like exercising like the gym or anything.

It is good Timmy, never heard of Joe’s sadly, as I’m from the other end of ‘town’ but how it tastes, for the calories? Immense. Well done on belt victory! You’re all cheering me up with your victories and making me want to keep on instead of tackling the triple layer chocolate cake 🙂

Hi Run for fun, thank you 🙂 Oh, that’s kind of you but it’s ok. I won’t be making that mistake again (as nice a mistake as it was). In future, two scoops it is. Or one. Or four. Seven… But I’ll do it by the scoop not the gram lol. How’s Day 4 going so far?

Hi Run, Nigella cake is a fantastic one.. everyone enjoyed it and didn’t notice it was ‘healthy’. Just swap the refined sugar for coconut sugar (approx £80 grand to buy but lasts!). And your almond flour is cheapest through RealFoodSource online – I think Eps does the PR for them?! Or is it Josie??! Either way, recommended!

I’m trying to figure out the way UP and MFP link up – apparently they are now connected on my phone but not sure how they sync. don’t want double bubble on calories!!

And oooooh – we’ve just booked our trip away and resolved the space problem! The campsite we stay at has pods available and they’ve knocked £50 off them. So for the 5 days, it’s probably costing us £50 more than it would have camping. But. But!
We don’t have to erect and take down a tent. Which is usually wet the morning we leave anyway. We don’t have to take the heavy, bulky tent. It has heating. It has light. It has power. So we don’t have to take loads of sleeping bags and duvets. Loads of lights and torches. It has table and chairs so we don’t have to take them. So, all being well, and due to the nature of how flat camping stuff tends to fold up and store, if we take the parcel shelf off the car, we should be able to fit everything in! For the sake of a tenner a night… jeez, well worth the much less hassle it will entail!

Peeing down here too Tokyo. Eeeeek 2000 posts. It’s as it it was yesterday that we were getting excited about nearing 1000 posts. We’ve come so far ladies and gents… *sniff*…

I’ve got MFP to work. Ish. Took an age to sync and then buggered up my UP app as it posted me as 112 kg which was apparently my weight when I started this. So I’ve had to amend that. I’ve put in my lunch (homemade soup), I’ve decided on lamb burger salad with raita tonight as Birthday boy has decided on Burger King so we don’t feel too left out! The burger is inputted ready (most important part). I’ve successfully imported the chocolate cake recipe and managed to get it to the calories that I worked out with the ingredients I used (145 calories per cupcake). That is put in ready. I’m going to scan my Oppo in a bit (one scoop! 😉 ) and then it’s just the salad and pickles. So far carbs are coming in as 33 used. So it is very, very possible that I have been overdoing the carbs.

We’re braving a tent this year. Pre erected too (I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere, yoghurt anyone?). We normally go to France to one of those static home things (Canvas/Eurocamp) but this year we’ve got a week in my in-laws ultra posh “timeshare” doodah. Only thing is I didn’t book the ferry back in time so we’ve had to extend our stay at a canvas site in Brittany in a tent! I just hope it doesn’t p!ss it down with rain, which in Brittany is a definite possibility!

I love camping in a tent but for the sake of £50 it’s not worth it for us hauling the trailer for 70 miles. If it were closer and easier access to get onto the site (very windy and narrow) it would have been ok. At least you don’t have to take it down in the rain, half the battle!

I’ll pass on the yogurt today, thanks. I’m already going to be eyeing my raita with distaste as is it, thanks to you… 😛

Call me a snob, but I really struggle with the idea of camping in a tent! I could possibly be persuaded to a pod, but generally my minimum requirement is an ensuite bathroom, and the ability to shower without the local perv or kids looking at me. And not catching verucas (*retch* Lucky?!) The pod is a no brainer for £10 extra a night. Less hassle, less clutter, more shelter. Probably the same veruca issues though lol

We have booked a chalet booked in Devon for our august kids holiday. Usually we borrow my neighbours’ parents static caravan in Norfolk (which the kids love passionately) but I marketed it too well for them and all the weeks got snapped up in the school holidays. That’ll teach me… My boy does at least have a week there with his dad and half siblings at the end of August so he can maintain his amusements addiction.

Hmm, when is MFP going to sync with the UP??

hee hee look at all you with your MFP and Ups :-))) Isn’t it so cool! Technology helping yaaay.

I think you can turn off the link with MFP if you dont want food to show up in Up Lucky – it’s kind of annoying isnt it as it judges your food for the day and seems to like when I eat more carbs which is distracting. Another thing in MFP is it wont let you complete your diary on 800 calories – it has decided it’s not enough and you are starving yourself so keeps trying to put up my goal for the day anytime I change my weight. Anyway, it’s great to watch the graph going down (usually!) – very motivating!

Hee hee Runforfun there’s always those ones stuffing themselves with chocolate and bone thin. I noticed it more at the beginning too but in my case I was usually envious, especially if there was chocolate involved. Still, all that sugar isnt good for anyone whether it turns into fat or just corrodes your insides/makes you sick! She’ll get hers..;-). (Joking!! I hope she is just one of the lucky ones :-))

Have nearly eaten all my calories for the day (and definitely carb allowance) so it will be a quiet evening haaa haaa ah well – and a MASSive walk. C’MON the steppers :-)))

Like you, fear of regaining weight loss so far is keeping me carb- low! I have horrid feeling that the fat ive lost in last 2 weeks will all jump back on.
LUCKY,am so sorry about yr noisy neighbours. Its such a horrible situation to be in. I had a neighbour who used to vacuum at midnight with Lionel Ritchie on high enough to hear over the noise of the Hoover😼😼😼 then she wd be going out to work lively as a cricket at 6.45 a.m.,while i was bleary eyedly trudging to my job. Complaints were water off a ducks back. She also had 3 teens who all played loud music too. I now live in a flat and have several elderly deaf neighbours who all have tvs blaring in unison all day and evening..*sigh* wd be nice to go and live on a desert island..maybe then no diet probs, just wear grass skirt and two coconut halves, and feast on luscious fruits…🍉🍑🍍

Oh God Tokyo, you poor thing. Have you survived being lightly blanched???? Can’t you buy the tickets online? Where did you get Oppo for £3???

Yes it is a bit confusing, Eps, have you seen how many carbs it WANTS you to eat? Jeez! 150 on mine! I’ll leave it though because as long as I can see how many I have eaten that’s the main thing. Well, that’s the only reason I’m using it tbh. Everything is inputted for the day, including cake and Oppo, except for my salad and raita which I will do when I’ve weighed and measured at tea time. 39 carbs. Looking reasonably good then. How have you nearly eaten all of your calories for the day??? It’s half one! Oh my God, if I had, I’d have to drug myself and take myself off to bed for the rest of the day LOL.

Hi Yowzer 🙂 It is horrible, been a year and a half now just getting progressively worse. Ironically, the old love she replaced, was deaf as a post and we’d hear her telly blaring sometimes as we were in bed, but in fairness it was always off by midnight. I wouldn’t mind but she’s got four children herself. Just a complete lack of respect and consideration. Can I come with you to the desert island? We can have a half each…?

Saying that, they’d have to be big bloody coconuts to harbour these babies… watermelon shells for me, maybe?

Well as I bloody thought. Phoned home to check if she’s put the yoghurt on to yog. Which she needed to do before midday to make sure I wasn’t going to have to stay up until God knows when to put in in the fridge to stopp the yoggin process. Has she? Has she f$%K!! Instead she’s bought some new furniture in the playroom to replace the new furniture that she bought about 4 months ago because she thinks it will work better.

Hee hee I know Lucky I leave the levels of carbs MFP wants me to eat and stage a little REBELLION against the system every day :-))) Never fails to cheer me up :-)))

See it all started with eating two slices of porridge bread and eggs for breakfast and went a bit downhill from there, all because I wanted to stop feeling sick. Had an almond milk hot drink and a seed bar thing from the cafe next door – all healthy but calories adding up boooo. Not too downhill and just had salmon and peppers and feta for lunch and will have chicken something for dinner.
ha ha ha lots of herbal tea I guess!

Desert island sounds good with you and Yowser. Hell is other people, except us of course ;-))
You probably right so, to treat the whole neighbour thing gently gently rather than send in the police if that’s not seen as good thing around there. How would they know it was you who called them though? If you kind of friendly you could go in and tell her some sob story about how you are just exhausted etc and maybe even tell her about BSD and how she should try it to increase her well being… i.e. so she wont be shouting her head off at night!! ha ha but then she’d read about herself here.. hmm… flaw….

Oh no Timmy lol. That made me laugh. I can’t even say ‘Women!’ because that’s the sort of shiz my husband pulls. I tell him sometimes, it’s me that’s supposed to be high maintenance. Good job I’m not, or we’d be one hell of a pairing. As soon as he has something it’s on to the next one. So far not with women though, thankfully.

You like eating in the day, don’t you Eps? See, it doesn’t bother me, but if I can’t have a decent sized tea, I’m done for. Even if it is a lot less than I used to eat. Because I can’t go snacking and picking like I used to, can I? I’m happy now, I know I’ve got a nice juicy burger and a salad, and chocolate cake and ice cream to come in about 3 hours. And I may even have a few calories over for some nuts if I want. Never thought I’d see the day when I’d be eating nuts daily! Or a small amount too, I used to polish off huge bags of them, oh my God, I really was a bloody glutton, what was wrong with me????

She’d know. I reported her to the council last year about the noise. She approached me and apologised of a sort. I thought, fair enough, fair play for doing that, I expected her to go mental, and I didn’t take the complaint further. Wish I had now. I think now she feels comfortable, feet are under the table so she thinks she can do as she pleases. Thing is, she can, because everyone else will talk and moan and gossip about her and the noise but won’t do anything about it. It’s only me it directly impacts on, so why would they? So I’m actually hoping in a way that nobody else does report her, because I know where the finger of blame will be pointed straight away.

Tokyo, I noticed a tiny bit of aftertaste in the teaspoon tip that I tried but not anything I’d call horrible. Didn’t notice it when I was eating the huge bowlful (#whyiputontwopounds) but I know what you mean. I was a huge diet drink fan, my mother however can’t touch the stuff because of the sweetener ‘aftertaste’. I don’t taste it the same as she does because I must like it so don’t know what she’s on about lol. Hope you get front row!

I know Janey, you’ve caught me up!!!

She always tells me I waste money on cars. I only bought my latest car a few months ago. Guess what I’m looking at now. Tee hee.

Skiing followed by buying a 4.2l quattro Audi. Nothing says revenge like the sweet rumble of a V8 engine or the gentle swish of skiis gliding down a slope!

Yes even I’m a bit scared of the Hell hath no fury Tokyo model.. incontinence pads??!

I had a midlife crisis and went out and bought myself an Alfa Romeo for the hell of it. It was a beauty, personalised plate, ‘drive like a ****’ mode at the click of a switch. 22 months after I bought it, I woke up in the middle of the night to find out it had decided to burn itself to death… incinerated thanks to electrical fault. That’ll teach me… 🙁

I didn’t get the fake aftertaste on the Oppo btw. Which is unusual for me as I detest anything with artificial sweetener in it. Did you try the salted caramel one as well Tokyo?

Lucky – if there’s a previous complaint to the council, reopen it. At least it’s logged when you batter her to death with your scales in the middle of the night..

See that’s what happens when you buy an Alfa Janey. Me, I buy Audis. That is unless she makes me buy a Ford. I had a 3.0l quattro Audi A6 Avant S line Le Mans Edition in black which she made be sell to buy an Smax (sob). The only saving grace was that I found a 2.5l petrol 220bhp Smax with Mustang leathers, satnav, pano roof and DVDs in the headrest.

I also used it as an excuse (because she made me sell my fun car) to get rid of my other Audi to buy an A4 cabriolet. Only problem is now, I want a more powerful version. Lol.
