I need help to get down into the next stone.

I have noticed from various post here that there are a few people who are on the verge of dropping down into ‘the next stone’.

I have been on the ‘verge’ for around 5 months now! I wonder if we can help each other, whether it be 13.9lbs or 0.3lbs, just to take that last step and get into the next stone lower.

I just need to lose 2lbs to drop down but I’ve needed to do that for so long I now need help …..

Well I have just weighed and I need to lose 2.1lbs to get down into the next stone. You would think I had a huge mountain to climb but it’s only a smidgen over 2lbs.

I have looked back in my journal and very briefly in May I did drop down, and then again for two weeks at the beginning of October I was in a stone lower. So yes I can do this. I have to push myself because I have lost 64lbs , mainly from following BSD since July 2016, and my clothes are looking acceptable. I don’t have any health issues other than my mobility, which is vastly improved, and my diabetes, which is in remission. I seem to have lost my motivation despite needing to lose more weight. I have become complacent.

I have joined and started so many challenges over the last 12 months or so and this will be my last shot. I can’t keep doing this indefinitely so one more try before I accept this weight as my ‘norm’ and just get on with life. I will go into 2018 either with renewed enthusiasm or acceptance of me as I am …. time alone will tell. Anyone coming along for the ride with be most welcome.

I need to lose just half a pound to hit the stone mark and another half a pound to be under. Although it is a mark I have been under several time I really want to crack it this time and be 7 lbs lighter before Christmas.

I too have been losing and gaining the same few pounds over the past months. At last I can see the end of the 3rd stone – just 1 3/4 pounds, and will really try to lose that by the next weigh in. If I manage that I would love to lose another three pounds over the next four week to take me into the 13’ s before we travel to US for Christmas with our son and family. They would notice, I think!

We CAN do this. We all have so little to go to drop into the next stone that we really have no excuse!

My strategy now is to weigh in stones and pounds rather than my usual pounds only. So welcome aboard and let’s just go for it …. we CAN….

    Good morning

Well after a 2lb gain this morning I decided to look back over the last 23 days of my current 4 week challenge and the upshot is 7lb gained 6.6lbs loss so an overall GAIN of less just than half a pound! All that effort for nothing and really just a waste of over 3 weeks. I have been yo-yoing up and down like this for the last 5 months and dread to think how much I’ve gained and lost. I am certainly not working that one out!

So back to the drawing board now with 3.9lb to lose to drop into the next stone but with very much more resolve …. no more ‘playing’ at this, no more keeping on keeping on ….. time to knuckle down and ‘JUST DO IT’!!!!!!

Morning all, I’m with you again Verano, up half a pound this morning so still 1lb to the stone mark and 1.5 to be under. You and me have been at this for so long that, although we never give up and pile it all back on, we have lost our enthusiasm to keep going for the long haul. I can do a week and lose then I mess around after that. Monday is a new week and I am going to relax a little over the weekend (by that I mean have a glass of wine or two) while keeping my food BSD friendly and then back with gusto on Monday. Just looking at the calendar and I have 3 weeks from Tuesday before my next medical appointment. I really have to get back to what I was at my last appointment. Hopefully my BG will be okay but I have had one or two spikes. Keep going girl, I’m still with you.

I think you may have hot the nail on the head s-g. We have been eating this way for an eternity and whilst I enjoy the food and don’t eat refined or simple carbs I have lost my motivation. Hope you can find something that works for you….hang in there.

S-g I just wanted to share this with you, and anybody else who may gain from it,

”You are creating everything that is your reality. Before you can create change you must take responsibility for your your actions and thoughts. When you take this responsibility you are taking the first steps towards changing your current situation.”

So I guess we both know what we are doing wrong, just have to put it right!

Promise you Allie I am doing my very best. Already on my third 500ml for today and it’s only lunch time so I have great hopes for today!

Sometimes it’s just the little things that can kick start you again. Last night we were eating out with friends who we’ve not seen for several months. One said I look younger every time he see’s me, well not sure about that but another said wow you have lost weight your face is so slim. In actual fact I’m the same weight as when we last met the only difference is that I am no longer wearing my ‘fat clothes’. There is a moral somewhere in there. Today I had a phone call to say how well I look now that I’m pain free and yes that does have something to do with it, but I think it’s mainly due to weight loss and a slightly shorter haircut! Nonetheless, they have all given me a boost and so today I’m feeling much brighter and back on track.

So although I can’t ‘see’ you I just want to compliment you all on your achievements and say how much better you are looking, and how much healthier you are since you started this journey. You all look great! So let’s carry on and see if we can drop down into that next stone and look and feel even better!

Well said, Verano – yes it is often the little things that mean the most. And so wonderful to be complimented and made to feel good about oneself. So I would like to reiterate your sentiments and say how MUCH BETTER everyone is looking since they started BSD.

And well done on the water consumption too – keep up the good work, I have high hopes for a record being achieved😜

What a great idea to reinforce the positive changes we’ve all made. My stylist suggested I angle the front of my hair to give it movement and to frame my “long face” instead of looking like two black-out drapes on either side of it. I was so happy to hear that I have a long face now, apparently. I was tempted to show him my passport picture from 2012 wherein my face can only be described as moon-like. A very, very full moon. 😆

of yourself! I wish you could all have a gander at my driver’s license. Talk about
a jack o lantern with a double chin! Whenever I have to present it for some reason
and receive the second looks, I’m grateful that I found my way out of that state.
I intend to stay where I am today, with the support of all of you! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I still find it difficult to get away from ‘loose’ clothes and whilst I’m not ready for fitted stuff yet I really don’t need floaty!

You know Esnecca I only had quite a small amount of hair taken off all around and shaped more but it made a huge difference to the way I think I look! I think it’s really quite difficult to adjust to a new body shape and hair/face and regain confidence when we have spent years ‘hiding’ under the best clothes we could!

Yes Theo I’ve made 2lt of water so far today plus a few teas. I’m sure I’ll make another 500ml at least before bed tonight.

Let’s just stick with the POSITIVES! We always underestimate ourselves ….. but no more … let’s be the women we want to be and deserve to be!

And I’m sorry, I forgot to mention how fantastic you and Esnecca look with your new haircuts😄

Allie, my driving licence is soooo old, it doesn’t even have a photo. Just the other day, I went to collect an order from Waitrose and was asked for photo ID. I don’t have any, I said. Surely you have a driving licence, the woman said. Sure, said I – but on production she didn’t even recognise it as a licence 😱 In fact a few years ago a policemen didn’t even recognise it – he said licenses previous to photo ones had been pink 😄 Mine’s green and I’ve had it since 1977 and only got changed from the lovely little maroon book then because we moved house!! Sadly will have to have a photo one in a couple of years when I turn 70, but at least it can be a “thin” photo 😄

Amen, Verano! Finding a way to make our outsides match our insides can be a struggle, and when it has taken a long time to get to this place, it takes even longer for the brain to catch up to the new reality. Reality: we have great kicky new haircuts that bounce and move and look sleek as all git out. Reality: goobye to all floaty tent clothes! You don’t fit us anymore. 😀

Verano, what a great thought – I’m hearing that tune quite distinctly in my
head at the moment. Thanks! I’m going to keep it mind for the few rare
moments when I get a little disgruntled at my current waist measurement.
I don’t think that I’m destined to ever see 24″ again, regardless of the low
number on the scale. How much can I expect from my body, after all?
I’ve already “contracted” by 20″. Hooray! It’s time to keep all things in
perspective 🙂 Congratulations on the water consumption for today. With
the tea, you must be close to 3 liters, or soon will be. My pesky voice is
continuing to whisper in your year. We water nymphs must stick together!!

The tape measure lies when it comes to our waists, Allie, because of how much weight we’ve lost. The difference in density between fat and skin makes that measurement pretty meaningless. Even at my current low of 117.7lb, my waist remains 30″. Meanwhile, the skinny pants I bought a month ago are baggy on me now and require a belt to keep from sliding steadily downwards, and a dress I bought that according to the sizing chart had a 27″ waist fits flawlessly without strain or bulging or muffin-topping of any kind.

I am still 1lb from the next stone and 1.5 to be under but more confident that I will get there by my weigh in on Tuesday of next week. Seeing doctor in 2.5 weeks and need to be down lower than at last appointment or he is going to say this isn’t working (although it is for my BG). So need to be 100g down and then a little more so I dont feel too pressurised as I know I am nearly there.

Where are you on the scales, anyone dropped under.

Hi s-g I’ve only just seen your post. I don’t think I’m getting posts at the moment must re-tick the box. I wouldn’t worry too much about an extra kilo or so. I was up just over a kilo at my last check but my BS was still lower than the previous test. We know really that 2 or 3 or even 4lbs come and go depending on how much water etc we’ve had so no great problem. As long as your BG is ok don’t fret.

Don’t even ask if I’ve dropped under! Since starting this thread I just seem to be gaining!!! Now we are away I really have to watch what I’m doing. OH is ‘starving’ constantly eating this way but I have to give him credit …. no bread, potatoes or rice for a week or so. He will probably have lost a shed load when he gets weighed on Monday …. wish I could say the same !

It will all be ok if we just carry on doing what we know works!

I have been here so long I even get bored with myself. I have never really concentrated on my weight as my BG was a bigger concern. However, I am where I want to be with my BG in that I have reduced meds and have good HbA1c readings BUT I have not managed to get rid of the meds completely and call myself in remission. I have been diabetic for 12 years and using insulin all that time and that is what I want rid of. I guess I need to concentrate on my weight now and have the added effect of further reducing my need for meds. I am a bit slow and a bit complacent so not in any hurry to get to my long term goal of no meds and 9.5 stone but I keep sliding back then picking myself up and sliding back and so on. I have been on this plan since June 2016 so I should just buck up my ideas.

Hi s-g wonderful news!! You are the first to drop into the next stone. Now you need to take one day at a time and you’ll soon be closer to 11 than 12.

I know exactly where you are coming from as I’ve been here almost as long as you and I’ve reached my main goal ….. reversing my diabetes. It does make it much harder to concentrate the mind when the issue becomes more one of weight than one of health …. BUT …. you have mentioned a magic word ‘cruise’. We also have a trip planned for March/April including an 18 night cruise!

So come on my friend let’s try and keep that uppermost in our minds and keep losing if only to look good on our hols.

As for me, I now have to lose even more to drop into the next stone, 3.6lbs but being away I’m not too unhappy. I feel like I’m still maintaining at the moment. I’m not regaining in my head, but I will just have to try harder to drop down into the next stone!
