    Hello,

I am new to this site and getting prepared for starting the BSD on Monday. I have used MFP for many years and looking to use this for monitoring intake on the BSD.

Can anyone tell me how i need to break down the following?

    Carbohydrates 50 g
    Fat ???
    Protein ???

    Thanks for your help,

    🙂

As usual it depends on your actual build and lifestyle. I don’t have the link to hand but Google the keto calculator by Martin Ankerl and input your height, weight and activity status. Then the 50 grams into the carbs. It will give you a min and max level for protein next, select something near the lower end but not the minimum, 800 calories isn’t a lot, finally input whatever fat target brings the total for the day to 800 calories. It is a good idea to redo this every couple of weeks on this diet as your weight will probably change quite fast compared to a conventional low carb diet. My 800 figures at the start were 50g carbs 68g protein and about 35g fat if I remember correctly.

Thanks so much for the tip! I’ve hunted down the keto x calculator – at least I’ll have an idea of what to aim for now when logging stuff on MFP.

Going to spend the rest of this evening meal planning. Being prepared is half the battle.

My biggest issue is the office ‘cake culture’ need a plan of action for that too xx
