Hello and welcome! This is an 8-week thread starting Monday 29th August up till Sunday 23rd October. Anyone is very welcome to join us. It’s a friendly group and many of us have been on a BSD or Fast 800 journey for some while, with lots of ups and downs along the way. We tend to refer to our threads as bus 🚌 journeys, which kind of makes the concept a bit more real and is also good fun.

So if you have weight loss goals we’d love to support you in your efforts to achieve them. You can expect fun, friendship and honesty – big cheers for your successes and support, and gentle understanding when things don’t quite go to plan.

Look forward to travelling with you over the next 8 weeks! And after this thread – at the end of October – we will roll out the Christmas bus to help us shed a few more kilos/pounds before the festive season 😀

Reserve me a double seat DCT for Tuesday 13th September when I will board the bus with my excess baggage. I will make a commitment to lose 7lb to 10 lbs. FACT!
Can’t wait to share the ups and downs with everyone. Hopefully more ups (not weight) than downs! Good luck to us all!

Hello all and thanks DCT for setting up this thread for our latest journey.
I’m off to a good start today, have walked 5000 steps this morning and going out for another walk after work today so should be able to get to 8000-10,000 steps. It’s the final days of my charity walk and I’m only a few kms short of my 127km target for August (equivalent to 3 marathons).
I had some stewed apple leftover in the fridge so had that for breakfast with some leftover Fast800 granola and some Greek yoghurt. On the weekend I made my favourite roast capsicum and pumpkin soup so had that for lunch with some haloumi ‘croutons’. Dinner is cooking in the slow cooker – Swedish meatballs which I’m going to have with cauli mash and green beans – am so looking forward to this meal 🙂 it’s not a diet recipe as such, but I saw it online last week and have been craving meatballs since then – they were always the best part of visiting IKEA!
My calories will be between 900 and 1000 today, I’m mainly focusing on keeping carbs under 50g and protein over 50g, plus TRE of 16:8.
As for goals – well earlier this year (May) I reached my 2021 target of 88kg. Since then I’ve gone up and down the same few kilos, and when I weighed in this morning I was back to 89.7kg. I’d dearly love to go under 85kg this journey, so a loss of around 5kg would be great :). I think this would be around 11lb? And I’m REALLY hoping to lose the majority of that 5kg before mid October when my eldest daughter gets married!
    Good luck all 🙂

Hello everyone and thank you DCT for setting this thread up.I am in my seat and am determined to stay in it until 10th October when I will be going away to Florida until 28th.I will not be on plan whilst we are away but know I will be on my feet a lot of the time as the friends we are going away with say they always clock up a lot of miles walking around the Disney parks and don’t seem to put weight on so🤞Once we are back I will give myself a day before joining the next bus ride to Christmas!
It’s my Dad’s funeral later this week, it’s all feeling a bit surreal at the minute and we wish it could have been earlier but we will get through it.Have a few days away arranged for the weekend (with DH,DD and the friends we are going to Florida with) which has been booked since last year, we had been going to cancel but my Mum and sister still want us to go and I will stay in contact with them whilst we are away.I intend to try to stick to healthy eating and we will be walking a lot so hopefully it shouldn’t interfere with my first week on our High Days and Holidays trip.
I’m going to plan my meals up to Thursday on MFP, Sue your meals sound lovely for today, and try my very best to stick to them.Good luck everyone, we can do this.Dawn X

I am climbing back on as I am writing this I am also cross with myself as I was doing so well and I think I got complacent (think that’s the correct word🤣) I have tucked into some naughty treats thinking 🤔 it was ok to do so but hey ho no it wasn’t and I have nearly undone my good work so back on the bus 🚌 for me and I look forward to the next 2 eight weeks
    Good luck every one

Morning all. Lovely to see Cathy, Sue, Dawn and Nokie already aboard, and look forward to welcoming more passengers too. Whether an old friend or complete newcomer, we’d love to have you on board!

Dawn it’s lovely to hear from you and I hope that everything goes smoothly for the funeral this week. Will be thinking of you all x. And I’m glad you have your weekend away afterwards – it sounds like just what you need.

Nokie welcome aboard and I’m sure you’ll soon start seeing results again. I’m glad your recent check up went well, so you’re obviously doing something right despite the little lapses 😉

Sue I really hope you achieve your weight loss goals for the wedding. How lovely would that be! Your food sounds as amazing as ever btw. Very inspiring.

Cathy have a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing you when you get back!

I’ve just been working out my goals for this journey. I’ve been on this WoE since 2017. Started at 175lb with the long term goal of 133lb, and very nearly got there a couple of times. I was around 138/139lb for quite a long time but some weight has gradually crept back on and I’m now around 147lb. I want to try really hard on this journey to lose 8lb, which equates to 1lb per week. It would get me back below 140lb again, to 139lb. I have a week’s holiday in mid-September but am determined to reach goal even with a bit of a break.

    Good luck everyone!!

I’m feeling inspired already. I’ve made broccoli and Stilton soup from the fast 800 cook book for my lunch. I aim to get under 140 like you DCT. I can’t believe I actually got as low as 130 lb but it was not was easy to maintain and I don’t know how I did it!. I’ll ultimately be happy with 138 lbs and that is my aim over the next two journeys: We all have high days and holidays ahead but in between we will have good days and fast days. I’ve been walking a little more this last week. I do so want to get back in control but I’ll be enjoy my holiday next week and then I’ll be reigning myself in and I am looking forward to enjoying success and sharing your success too. I will weigh myself on 13th September and begin my three month shred!!! Following the tragic death of my brothers good friend who was very spiritual and worked hard at self discipline- I feel I want to become a better and more disciplined person going forward and I want to work on being more positive and motivated.
Thinking of you Dawn as you face a difficult week ahead with your dad’s funeral. Sending you love.

    Hi all 🙂
I’m just starting out today. I’ve done low carb before and it was really effective for losing weight but I didn’t have a toddler then! Also timing this to coincide exactly with the start of the teaching year, am I mad? Probably.. anyway. Wish me luck. I managed it today and not really really hungry but have a headache gah! I had a shoe for breakfast at 8, lunch at 12 and dinner at 6 but got so shakey in between. My doctors have said I’m pre-diabetic and it’s taken me 6 months to psyche myself up enough to do this! So I really need some willpower here which is not my strong point in general…

Hi Lesfleur and welcome. You’re in good company! I hope that we can help you battle on despite the lack of willpower. Good luck with the new school year too. I left teaching 3 years ago but am going back to my old school a little bit this term to help out. I don’t know why I said yes as I’m really busy with other work as well. At least I have a short holiday coming up so that will help space things out . . . though not sure how the willpower will fare that week!

I had a wake up call earlier this evening when a friend posted some old photos on Facebook. There was one of me back in 2016, not long before I started BSD for the first time. I was so much bigger then than I am now; noticeably so. I berate myself for little slip ups (they happen a lot!) and forget just how far I’ve come. I’m sure that applies to many on here, even if we’ve let things slide a bit and those pesky pounds have started to creep back again. So the photo was good news in terms of the progress that has been made, but a big red flag to get my act together and not end up going back there again.

Yowzer I’m so glad you are starting to feel better and hope that you will soon feel completely back in control again.

And Dawn, we’re all thinking of you and your family this week X

Hello to everyone else too. Plenty of room on the bus if you’re reading this and fancy joining our motley crew!

I have the books and the shakes so I’m all good. I have been having the shakes with full fat milk (about 370 cals I think) for a while as they keep me going til lunch at work which is a miracle, but maybe I should try almond. I can’t stand oat milk but maybe it’s tolerable in a shake?! I really love the book recipes actually they all look so delicious!

The holiday sounds good – Where are you off too? We just came back from France and all that bread… I ended up feeling so ill! Definitely need to sort my blood sugars out. I had some of my pancreas removed a few years ago and think I’m just extra intolerant to sugar now, I should probably get another blood sugar test done but I’m sort of avoiding it.

Well done on your journeys. I find photos quite motivating too but I’m in the reverse situation currently ha! Baby + teaching + pandemic = lots of comfort eating. Hmmmm. X

Hello all and a special welcome to Lesfleur 🙂
Lesfleur – I was pre-diabetic before starting this WOE in 2017 and my blood sugar levels, inflammation levels etc showed improvement within about 3 weeks. After a few months I was no longer pre-diabetic and have continued to lose weight (well up and down a few times! ) since then. I’m really not that disciplined at all, which is why I’m a slow loser, but the thing is if you keep going and keep chipping away, before you know it you’ve gone down a dress size. 5 1/2 years after starting I’m 15kg and 2-3 dress sizes less than I was when I started, and feel better at 56 than I did at 40 🙂

How is everyone else going? Dawn and Yowzer I have been thinking of you this week x

It’s been a long week! Very, very busy at work and I ended up doing almost 8 hours in overtime (very unusual for me!). My charity walk month finished and I walked 140km during August and reached my fundraising target, thanks to some generous friends and family.

Diet wise, well despite eating 2 takeaway (small meals) of Chinese and KFC this week (eek!) I still managed to lose 1.2kg (2.6lb) so feel I’m off to a good start.

Wow Sue that’s amazing on your blood sugars. I shall aspire to that! I’d like to get pregnant again and that’s my immediate motivator atm re: blood sugar. I’ve got 12kg I’d like to lose ideally, so easy to put it on and so hard to get it off. Anyway I’m doing quite well atm, not too hungry just very sleepy – Keto flu has hit I think.

On another note – 140km! Amazing!

Hi Yowzer and thanks for the welcome… 🙂 x

‘ey up. Greetings folks. Haven’t been around for a long while, but popped back on the forum to ask a sauerkraut related question (!) and saw this thread, so thought I’d hop on board and see how it goes. Started back on Fast 800 on 30/08/22 so this’ll do as a good 8 week starter for ten. Potted history of me for context of arriving here – used to be morbidly obese about 17 years ago, lost half my body weight and got down to broadly a healthy weight in time for my wedding 15 years ago (oh god, that’s just reminded me it’s my anniversary in a couple of weeks – best remember to get a card!), using calorie restriction and mad amounts of exercise. Lost my grip, put 2/3 of it back on, did Fast 800 moving to keto with IF & EF in 2019 and made good progress that year and lost about half of what I needed to (was on the forums then but under a different name I can’t remember!). Lost my grip again – really badly this time, not just misplaced, ‘down the back of the sofa’ lost, but really hurled it into the middle of a deep lake, lost. Pottered around with Fast 800 again either last year or earlier this year (I forget when) and then I lost sight of the lake, not just the grip I’d lost, and here I sit, a couple of stone off my all time heaviest. So, have located the mental lake where my grip sank and am applying Fast 800 scuba gear to go in search and get my grip back; fortunately, as I generally go on and off low carb, it only took a day or two to get back into fairly deep ketosis, so at least I’m not hungry – not sleeping well and no energy as yet, but that’ll come! Target for 8 weeks is 20lb loss. Focus this time is more around habits – changing the bad ones, developing new healthy ones etc. Fast 800, low carb, a bit of IF and maybe EF if I get enthusiastic again & a bit of mild rebounder and gym ball will take care of the weight eventually, but it’s the habits that’ll keep me on it and keep the weight off and I am heartily sick of being back at square one, so that’s the thing I have to crack.

Hi everyone, it’s me again 😁

I kind of faded away a bus or two ago, I just wasn’t in the right headspace and I found it so discouraging that I couldn’t seem to stick to it. I didn’t weigh or measure or count any thing over the past three months or so although I didn’t go crazy- just took the focus right off eating. Thinking about food all the time was doing my head in. It seemed necessary at the time and I think it’s done me good.

I decided a couple of weeks ago that it was time to try again and that I wouldn’t rejoin a challenge until I was sure I could give it a go. So now after a full week back on it I’m feeling good and confident! The hunger the first few days was a bit of a shock 😂

I’ve never had carb flu but there was a little dizziness a couple of days and according the the blood meter at work I’m in ketosis so yay! I’ve decided to weigh on Tuesdays and Fridays and so far it’s looking good. My three months off didn’t do me any harm, I actually lost a couple of kilos during that time And lost a little more this first week.

My goals are to be 5kg lighter at the end of the eight weeks. Ambitious but I hope achievable.

It’s good to see so many familiar names and also some new ones. Onward and downward!

Hello all and Happy Monday 🙂
Welcome back Mariet and Little Drummer Girl 🙂
Dawn – I’m glad your dad’s service went well. I think your holiday must be around the same time as my daughters wedding (Oct 14). I think in pounds I probably need to lose about 20 to get to my goal weight, I’d ideally like to lose at least 7-8 of those in the next 5 weeks
Mariet I think I’ll join you in weighing on Tues and Fri.
Yesterday was completely off plan, it was Fathers Day and I made my husbands favourite breakfast and dinner – pancakes and pizza, plus I had a beer or three with him!
Today was a little better. I took my MIL to the hairdressers and had my hair cut and coloured too. We had coffee afterwards and instead of having a cake I just had a small piece of MIL’s. For dinner we had bacon and eggs, after being out all day I just wanted something easy and at least that’s on plan.
I’m going to get up early tomorrow morning and put on a beef curry in the slow cooker before work, I’ll have mine witr some cauli rice.
Altrough my charity walking has finished, I’m trying to keep up with the walking as I was enjoying it so will go for a walk before and aster work.
Have a good week all 🙂

I need to lose 3 stone but would love to lose a stone before my holiday in October. I have a friend that has lost 2 stone in 5weeks using this eating plan and they are looking great!!

I want to have a good start as the weight loss always plateaus out quite severely for me, my goal over the next 7 weeks is to lose 3.5lb average a week.
I am joining a step challenge at work this month which I am hoping will also help.

Hello hello hello to all our new friends!

Mandy1965 rapid weight loss is defo possible on this Way of Eating, particularly when doing it for the first time. I was amazed the way the pounds dropped off, despite being convinced I’d never stick to it. Good luck!! We’re all here for you.

Never Give Up welcome back to the WoE! So many of us on here have lost a lot then regained some … and so it goes on. I really hope that by being part of our journey you can hit those targets.

Dawn lovely to hear from you, and glad the service went well last week. So hard for you all I know. And I hope you can gradually begin to move forward. Florida is not too far away – which gives you something lovely to look forward to – but there’s still time to shed a few pounds. The main thing right now is to take care of yourself and your family. And I’m sure once things settle a bit you’ll be back on track again.

Little Drummer Girl, just reread your post and WOW what incredible weight loss history! You’re an inspiration to us, and hope that we can be a support to you as you move down those scales again.

Nokie you can do this! Look how far you’ve come so far. Once you’re back from Switzerland it’ll be full steam ahead! Have a wonderful time then we’ll help you get back on track!

Sue I’m getting excited about the wedding! I really hope you can shift those few pounds by then. You’re a constant source of encouragement with your slow and steady approach, your fabulous food, and your efforts to exercise. You go girl!! It’s a privilege to have been travelling with you for so long on here, and I can’t wait till we all get to our respective goals 😊

Ok, I need to get to bed now as have a horribly busy day tomorrow. And a violent storm has just kicked off here – thunder, lightning, heavy rain – the works!! Going to go to bed and hide 🙀

Love to you all and here’s hoping for a great week C

Good morning everyone, and I hope you all have a great day ahead 🙂
Yesterday went well for Day 1 – 886 cal and 34g carb. Only a slight keto headache. I know from before that when I wean myself back off the excess carbs, I feel pretty terrible for a few weeks, so if/when it kicks in I won’t be surprised. Just look forward to when I get past that.
What do people find works well for them by way of weighing themselves? I would always do first thing in the morning but just wondering how often/what day etc.
    HAGD all xx

Dreamscometrue – wish we’d have a storm here; need the water butts filling so I can water the plants in pots more easily! The forecast keeps promising rain, day after day, but we just get a few drops that I’m fairly sure evaporate before they hit the guttering!

Never Give Up – I only record my weight once a week, when I get up; but in between those ‘official’ weigh-ins, I do pop on the scales whenever I fancy it to see how things are going. Which is fine when I’m in a good headspace, but can cause issues if all is not going well! Got to find the right balance for you.

Flying visit from me today while I have a few mins before I head out to my accordion group – first week weigh-in this morning and saw a 9lb loss, which I’m happy with. I was feeling very bloated and knew I was holding a lot of fluid, so was expecting quite a bit of fluid loss on the first week. Feeling less bloaty, but I think there’s still some to go, before I get down to seeing the ‘true’ week in, week out weight loss results. Keeping up with my rebounder use for exercise and have a new gym ball (the old one has been in the shed for about 17 years, so although it’s still inflated, I don’t fancy chancing my weight on it!) – I now need to find one of my old yoga mats as the carpets are too slippery to use the gym ball without risk to life, limb and furniture! I also have to be a bit careful due to achillies problems I’ve had for the last six or seven months so definitely don’t want to be slipping; icing after rebounding seems to be keeping the pain at a manageable level, so that and ibuprofen will hopefully keep me on an even keel so that while I have to shuffle and limp a bit for a while when I get up, I warm up and can walk normally by coffee time!

Right, got to dash – will keep popping by to read, even if I don’t get time to post most days.

Never Give Up – I find a weekly weigh in works for me.,I record my weight every Friday, used to do Monday weigh ins but prefer Fridays as if I’ve gone a bit overboard on a weekend I have all week to reverse any gains 🙂
At the end of each month I also record my weight so that I can see that months loss (and sometimes gain!).
Another thing I find helpful is recording measurements, I used to do this monthly but lately it’s been more like 3 monthly – sometimes I’ve only had small losses on the scales but I’ve lost centimetres from my waist/hips/bust.
I use a (free) app called Happy Scales to record my weight, it has some cool features and has a Moving Average weight figure which is helpful when your weight fluctuates.

Hi All, We’re back from our Norwegian Fjords & Arctic Cruise. OMG the Fjords are SO beautiful! I must admit to shedding a few tears when I woke up on our 1st stop at Skjolen & opened the curtains, as I was totally stunned by the scenery – the greenness of everything & the snow on top of the numerous mountains. The blue/green of the water. Talk about idyllic! I just thought I’d died & gone to heaven as it was that beautiful, I felt I could happily & peacefully pass away looking at the beautiful sights ( a strange reaction by me). I just felt really sorry for the people who lived there as we’d parked looking into their windows. Looked like where we’d docked opposite were idyllic small farms & the people who lived in them were out at work or staying away from their from their floor to ceiling windows. Norway is a REALLY beautiful country. We were also exceedingly lucky that Norway was also having a heatwave like the UK. Most of the trip we were up in 70’s & 80’sF – over 20C & even in the Arctic it was 56F. All those heavy jumpers were unworn as were the thermals.

Sadly we didn’t get to see much of the Northern Lights. We did see some red, green & yellow ones when we were going away from Tromso BUT that was only because the clouds parted in places for a short while. It must have been stunning with no clouds. The Captain said he’d wake us all up if they had a great display, Apparently the ship has NO cameras on the back & the following night apparently everyone who stayed up & were on the back deck were treated to a stupendous display off the back of the ship. As most of us had stayed up hoping the previous night – when the chances were excellent, we were mostly tucked into bed & no announcement was made 🙁 Hubby bought a Northern Lights Baseball cap anyways. lol

The ship was beautiful, the staff were lovely BUT sadly the food was just OK, nothing very special except for a couple of meals I’m going to reproduce here hopefully. The entertainment was pretty poor with just a few rare exceptions. Apparently no line now has enough staff & entertainers so I wonder if Royal Caribbean. which we loved would be any better? We’re booked to go on exactly the same ship – Sky Princess for our 2 transatlantics. I did look to see if there was an alternative to the 2nd trans. one which we only have a $2 deposit on, but sadly couldn’t find one. I’ll look again when I’m more awake. We’ll enjoy them anyways. Met some lovely people on board, it was wonderful to go from full shielding to actually talking to people.

I changed from Plusnet to BT our broadband & phone whilst we were away so we’d have no break in service. Hmmm that didn’t work as they hadn’t delivered our router or phones & had cut us off plusnet so it’s only today we are finally up & running with broadband & phones again. Got the entertainment package too as we haven’t watched TV for nearly 2 years now. I’ll set that up in a few days.

Weight – I think I’ve put on 7lbs & hubby a bit more. Hardly surprising as we ate too many croissants every morning. Hubby because he needed something to take his Manuka10+ UMF on & I helped him eat some too (silly me!) We also over indulged on their huge speciality coffees daily (& thoroughly enjoyed them) plus huge brewed coffees smothered in cream. Then again there was the chocolate & hazelnut concoctions that were easily on a par with GU except twice the size, that we just couldn’t resist.

We just had our 1st ‘proper’ meal – steamed cauliflower & broccoli with Steak & Ale pie (that we tossed away the pastry) & hubby was talking to it 🙂 “I have SO missed you, I’ve been longing for you for weeks’ so we’re coming on this bus. We only have 7.5wks until our next trip for a month to visit the girls, their hubbies & our 2 grand-kids. I’d love to lose a stone by then (I know we’re going to put weight on during the cruise but we’ve decided we will either miss breakfast or go have breakfast on much more suitable fare.) We did have extra vegetables at every meal, followed usually by Gelato – we’re on holiday!

It’s so nice to see all of you here. I will write in a day or 2 as have to send messages & make tel calls to US, Keep on keeping off all of you. So happy to be back on the shiny new bus, thanks DCM for setting this up again. Hi Yowser, Cathy, Nokie, Sue. Mariet & Extra Special hugs to Dawn. So nice to see so many newbies to this thread too. Too little time at mo. but if you want to see how we’ve done click on my profile – nothing better than losing a few stone relatively easily, with help from this lovely group of people & also no longer being classed as a diabetic YAY! Keep on keeping off peeps. XXXX

Hi Linda, glad you enjoyed your cruise. We are doing the northern coast of Norway then skipping across to Iceland in June 2023. This is our cancelled trip from 2 years ago, so really looking forward to it. We have been to Norway and done the fjords before and, like you, thought it was so beautiful.

Well hello everyone! I though it had gone quiet on here, but somehow the box had become unticked so I wasn’t seeing any posts via my emails, which is my usual way of keeping up!

Will catch up with all your posts now, and hopefully won’t miss anything from now on.

I’m off on holiday today so will be fully back as from the weekend 17th/18th. Meanwhile good luck everyone, and I will be reading posts (I hope!!) even if not posting myself X

Great weight loss Yowser and Dawn – encouraging to see. I will probably weigh tomorrow – last week went well with food choices and hoping to see some results. Thanks all for the tips on when to weigh and also regarding measurement, will play around and find what works.
Linda just to say your description of Norway was beautiful. I’ve never been there but it’s really given me something to think about. I want to see those fjords now 😍

    Hello everyone-
Im came home from my Turkey holiday at ridiculous o’clock this morning- had no sleep and booked an emergency appointment at the dentist where I had my wisdom tooth extracted following an extremely painful infection on holiday!! Unbelievable! I’ve just read the thread whilst feeling sorry for myself and it’s great to see so many new people on the bus as well as some old friends returning.
Im starting afresh from tomorrow- I don’t feel well today following no sleep and a shock dental extraction. I feel fat and fed up! Was I the biggest person in a swimsuit on holiday no, was I ashamed of myself, no, was I happy with myself NO! I am starting afresh tomorrow and I am going to make sure that on my next holiday I am happier with myself! I’ve eaten far too much food whilst being away and feel very gluttonous- my trousers today are skin tight! I am not going to weigh myself until next Tuesday so I can get off my post night flight fluid retention, get over this tooth extraction and get some of this water weight off my very bloated body. Then my plan is to chip away to get back to feeling happy about my weight. Hopefully 138 lb. A long way to go I reckon but there are a few of us starting afresh and feeling focused. I feel I’ve poisoned my body after a week of “all inclusive” and I’m going to be sitting on a double seat tomorrow aiming to lose 7lb in my first two weeks.

    Hello everyone
Feeling better this morning after a good sleep. A bit sore from the wisdom tooth extraction but I have made a great start. Greek yoghurt and raspberries for breakfast and broccoli and Stilton soup for lunch. Planning an omelette and salad for my evening meal so Day 1 is going well. I didn’t weigh myself today- couldn’t face it! Don’t need to add insult to injury! I’m back to it and hopefully the scales will be heading downwards in the next few days . I’m back at the vaccination centre this week for two days and I start my new school flu job next week! Cathy two jobs! That should help keep me slim!
Looking forward to feeling better and fitter over the next few weeks as I shed some fat! Am planning to work four days over the next few months and take soup for lunch to work. I’m really looking forward to eating healthier!
Going to sift through my Recipe Books and plan some nice meals.
    Day 1 is going well!

    Afternoon folks

ClarinetCathy – glad you’re feeling better after the dentist; quite a shock to the system having an extraction.

Just popping by to update on this week’s WI for me – another 5.8lb off, so that’s good. Only second week so still quite a bit of fluid in the weight loss but I do feel less bloaty, so that’s good! Feeling proud of myself for getting through the weekend at the caravan without descending into booze and junk food; arriving at the caravan is usually my signal to kick off shoes, open a beer and eat some pizza! I’m sure I’ll get into the routine of enjoying healthier caravan weekends eventually but I do confess to pining for a cocktail or beer and watching the husband and kids have pizza with a degree of jealousy!

Hi all, just stopping in for a minute to keep accountable 😁

Thanks Yowser, it’s good to see you and your positive messages too!

Hoping you are feeling better soon CC. Even though me dentist is very gentle I still dread going. A hold over from childhood when the technique was to hold the child down, do what has to be done and pain relief was for cissies.

Half a kilo down yesterday which I was happy with, my extra poundage loves me and doesn’t leave me willingly! I am finding the food aspect easy- coffee with a little milk for breakfast, Greek yoghurt with berries and seeds for lunch and a protein and large amount of veg for dinner. No snacking between meals. My temptation is a glass of wine with dinner that turns into two. So I am making sure they are one alcohol unit only, not restaurant pours!

    Onward and downward!

Hello all, and welcome back Cathy 🙂 sounds like you are off to a great start, your post was very positive 🙂
I’m travelling along ok – when I weighed a couple of days ago I was down to 88.4kg again, so a loss of 1.3kg since the beginning of September. I’ve been doing more a 4:3 approach, 4 on plan days and 3 off as I’ve had a few social occasions. Also realised that over the next 5/6 weeks as well as the wedding there’s the bridal shower/high tea, my birthday, wedding anniversary and also my husbands birthday, so a bit of balance required there!
I found a dress which fits me perfectly and is a really good, design + cut, the fabric skims over my bumpy bits so it’s quite flattering, even if I do say so myself! Yes I am still 8kg away from my end of 2022 goal weight, and I’d ideally love to lose another 2-3kg in the next 4 weeks before the big day, , but if it doesn’t happen it’s reassuring to know my dress will still fit!

    Hi Nokie
I’m with you taking up two seats on the bus at the moment. It won’t take us long to get off the excess and we just need to appreciate how being in control and feeling fit makes us feel so much better. I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday. Back to basics for us now! I weighed myself today for the first time since June and am ashamed to admit to being 10 lb heavier. So that is my first goal to lose 10 lb which is nowhere near where I need to be but it’s my starting point.
SueBlue you have a few high days and holidays ahead but you’re so disciplined and have got this way of eating down to a fine art. It’s good to know that the dress you’ve chosen already fits and is flattering. Such a good feeling.
Mariet- your meal plan sounds just like mine- coffee for breakfast, yoghurt with raspberries or passion fruit for lunch or soup and a simple evening meal.
I’m still not back to feeling good following my dental infection and extraction but feeling this bad and fat and bloated is making me determined to get a grip and start feeling and being positive and I so want to be a star this time round and write about losing weight!!!
Yowser thank you for your inspiration, positivity and humour which always keeps the bus happy.
I will weigh myself next Wednesday to see if I’ve made any progress and I hope to report a good loss after a week of being good! I’m glad I saw the reading on the scales this morning- a huge wake up call! The heaviest I’ve been for a very very long time! Here I go again…….

Popping in to report a 400g loss yesterday, such a good feeling after no change for a week 🙂

Sueblue, I know you can do it. Back in 2017 when I started this way of eating it was in preparation for both my children’s weddings which were 9 months apart. I found vanity, wanting not to look like a small, round dumpling in the photos, was the best stiffener for my willpower. And the photos came up yesterday as FB memories and it certainly worked, I felt great and was happy with my results, I am sure you will too.
Also when I saw those photos I was again filled with annoyance at myself for allowing myself to regain so much weight but oh well, what’s done is done and now to pick up the pieces 🙂

MARIET ..same! Filled with annoyance with self looking at photos from five years ago, when I had finally become a slimbo once more! Why did I allow myself to regain. Only consolation, not yet as fat as last time!
I have taken heart and determination from your wise words though..quote…
“oh well, what’s done is done and now to pick up the pieces 🙂”…
actions have consequences and with the right actions we can get back again to where we were! Yayyyy 👏👏👏👏
Well done though on looking good as MOB, I was MOB in 2012 and looked small and round as didn’t take action, just panicked which made me eat more. I had a lovely outfit of jacket and maxi skirt. I have fat ankles due to lymphoedema, really fat ankles,so wanted them covered, hence skirt a bit too long…so not only short and round and dumpy,I looked like I was moving round on castors as feet hidden!
People said I looked stunning ( being kind) but I wince when I look at the photos!
Afterwards I lent the outfit to a slimmer friend going on a cruise and she looked wonderful in it.
Oh well as LINDA says..keep on keeping off!
Love to all ❤️ 💕 💗 have a great week folks and hold on to your hollyhocks, this bus is moving fast! XX

Hi all! Was out and about roaming this avvo..jumped off the bus to stretch my legs! …picked up an interesting leaflet…says “Give yourself a daily dose of happiness”
Well who doesnt want a dose of that!
    They suggest…
Give yrself a dose of *~ Dopamine~* by creating something, such as writing, music, arts and crafts.Eat foods rich in L-Tyrosine such as avocado, fish, eggs, cheese, bananas
Give yrself a dose of *~ Oxytocin~* by talking, hugging or even just shaking hands. Connecting with others reduces cortisol ( stress hormone) and stimulates the vagus nerve ( your secret weapon in fighting stress!)
Give yrself a dose of *~ Serotonin ~ * ..10 – 15 mins sunlight a day can increase serotonin levels and Vit D. Relaxation and meditation can also increase serotonin
Increase your *~ Endorphins ~* by exercising, stretching, laughing. Eat dark chocolate and spicy foods.
🌷🍁🌷🍁🌷 Sounds like a recipe for happiness,so why not try a few ideas, see what happens! 🌷🍁🌷🍁🌷xx

Hi everyone and welcome back to all who have been away.I meant to post on Monday but spent all day watching the Queen’s funeral.
I went totally off plan over the weekend and basically ate everything in sight (including the marshmallow hugs Yowzer! but thank you for sending them anyway❤️ ) so didn’t want to get weighed.I did make the effort this morning though and am one pound down which is a relief.3 weeks until holiday so I know I could make a big dent if I put my mind to it so here goes🤞Dawn X

Hello everyone, and lovely to catch up. Like you Dawn, I’ve been planning to post for a few days now but got caught up in all the TV coverage of the funeral and the run up to it. Well done for your recent loss too, and yours Mariet 👏

Thanks for your encouraging words as always Yowzer. And I look forward to seeing you become a “slimbo” again very soon. I know you can do it!!

How’s everyone else doing? Cathy, Sue, Nokie, Linda, Lesfleur, LittleDrummerGirl, Mandy1965, Never Give Up, sunshinegirl . . . and anyone I’ve missed (sorry!). Hope all is going well, and look forward to travelling with you for the rest of this journey.

I had a lovely relaxing holiday, but ate and drank far too much. I weighed myself when I got back and had put on a couple of pounds. Weirdly they disappeared on Sunday . . . . but are now back again. But I’m back on track, and my latest aim is to lose 1lb a week for the rest of this journey then on the next one up to Christmas. If I can do that (and, knowing me, it’s a BIG if!) I should be able to shed around a stone and be moreorless at goal by Christmas. So now is the time to knuckle down. And I really want to, as I’m not happy about my weight gradually creeping up, and also the fact I’m exercising much less than I have been until fairly recently. I feel flabby and unfit.

So, definitely time for a reboot all round, and I will post regularly because I need your encouragement and chivvying up!

Hope you all have a good rest of the week X

    Morning everyone
We are all still on board, some doing better than others. To those who are disappointed with this week, draw a line under it, refresh and try again. This is a way of eating for life. Take it week by week. Some good, weeks some not so good.
I’ve had a good week and have lost 4lb. A lot of that will be water weight. Not had a great week since coming back from holiday, wisdom tooth extraction and a hellish week in the vaccination centre! So busy! I’m starting my new job next week and am going in for training today. My anxiety levels are high about this new job, finding the schools, parking, etc etc! I didn’t envisage starting new jobs at my age but with the cost of living and fuel bills etc I need to be earning! I’m hoping it will be a nice job and the people will be nice.
I’m hoping to lose 2lb this week. I’ve got a lot of excess to lose. I plan to make soups and generally cut down on snacking!!
Must dash but just wanted to share my weigh in news and I’ll catch up properly later.
