    Hi all

Well I suppose my name says it all. I am kitkatgirl and can’t just eat one Kitkat chunky, I have to have 2. But at the moment I’m not having any and I actually feel like crying.
I am on Day 5 of Fast 800 and have lost 5.9 lb’s already. Days 1-4 were a breeze; had loads of energy and loved watching the weight come off day by day. But today I have really struggled with low energy and I don’t know why? Starting to have doubts I can stick to this but really don’t want to give up.
The sugar cravings have kicked in big time!
Anyone else feeling the same way? How did you cope??!!

Welcome KitKat 🌺 Please don’t cry. ou have made a really good start. It sounds like to may have reached the keto flu stage. http://www.healthline.com/nutrition/keto-flu-symptoms#what-it-is This article helps to explains what is happening. It will pass in a few days – so keep doing what you are doing. It’s important to keep up your fluid/water intake and salt intake. Once you get past that your super sugar cravings should ease. This way of eating (WOE) is a big change for your body which has been used to a high sugar/carb diet – and it does take some time to adjust.

Each week on this site there is a forum “One week at a time starting ……” This week is 15th July. If you post your questions there lots of friendly folk will read them and be able to respond. 😊😊 You are doing well and can do this KitKat! 🌼

EDIT this is my 6th attempt to submit this reply – first 5 have not displayed

    Hi kitkatgirl
Sounds like the sugar cravings have kicked in big time which is a normal reaction. Your body is in the process of adapting to fewer carbs and doesn’t like it hence the insidious urge to get you to eat more carbs and sugar. Ultimately if you give in to those cravings you will set off an infernal cycle of sugar spikes and slumps which will leave you feeling awful.

You are dealing with an addiction and it takes great resilience and detemination to break that, but you can because those kitkats and other chocs are doing you no good and your health is more important.

You are doing well so far with a 5.9lbs discard so keep going ! Plan your meals to include some moderate protein and healthy satisfying fats but with low carb veggies.

Can you transition to a very dark choc ? I have at least 85 or 90% cacoa these days . A couple of squares now and again ?

We have some active threads on the forum : the weekly thread One week at a time …. and the Judicious July thread . You will find lots of friendly, helpful support on there from very experienced BSDers who will answer any queries you have and who have been through it all !!
You are not on your own but it is so worth putitng the effort in to give BSD your very best shot !

All the best to you !
