I am starting Fast 800 tomorrow. I’ve spent two weeks trying to acclimatise to low carb/sugar – I am a carb/sugar addict and am now ready to start this diet primarily for weight loss. I have the book, need to lose 50 pounds and am ready to go but I have a question that I just can’t find a straight answer to.

On a fast, TRE, can I add milk to my red bush tea or must it be just water?
    Hoping someone can help me.
Many thanks and good luck to everyone,

    Sheila

Hi, during time restricted eating, and also during a fast, the aim is to not take in anything which will spike your insulin levels. – Milk has carbs, so it would impact on your insulin levels. Skimmed and semi skimmed milk is worse than full fat milk.

Having said that, its not the end of the world if you have to ease yourself into this in steps by having a tea, but nothing to eat, and build up to being water only during your TRE. or during a fast.
