I am 2 weeks in to this now and I noticed today that my socks are no longer leaving big rings around my lower calves. I used to have ankles that would make a hippo proud. They are not quite gazelle-like yet but certainly looking so much better. 2 weeks in, 7kgs down!

    Hi Pete,
You’ve certainly painted a word picture there lol!
How did you manage your week in Aus? You obviously managed to stay away from the vino and craft beer if you’ve lost 7 kg in 2 weeks. Congratulations ๐Ÿ™‚

I did have few glasses of wine in Perth and a celebratory glass of champagne yesterday at a friend’s 40th birthday but generally I have been a good boy – didn’t even drink whilst watching the rugby on Saturday. Big effort this week and then I have a few days vacation planned and another conference which will take me to the 1/2 way stage. I’m ahead of schedule as I had planned to do this during April and May. I have a goal of 15kg…sounds a lot but then I did start at 145kg and was 115kg 3 years ago. Ultimate goal? Under 100kg. Wont get there on this 8 week stint but will continue with the low-carb, healthy lifestyle after this.

    Way to go Pete ๐Ÿ™‚
You’re only two weeks in and you’re nearly half way to your first goal of losing 15 kg. I have a feeling you’ll be adjusting that goal before too long, and realising that getting under 100 kg isn’t a pipe dream.
Good for you. Keep posting, we all love reading the success stories and will celebrate with you.

Slower week this week – seem to be on the week 3 plateau that a lot of folk mention. Maybe it ‘s just that the first 10 days the weight loss was so rapid that even 1kg a week seems slow. Moved a notch on my belt and my jeans are now around my belly rather than under it which is apparently a far more attractive look (as long as I don’t pull them up too far). I’m going to thrash out another 2 tough weeks on this BSD and then I will have my regular appointments with my quacks – Cardiologist, Blood Specialist and Snoring Specialist. I hope to be knocking their socks off with the new me – lower BP, lower weight and fewer sleep apnea episodes – whoop whoop!

Keep it up Pete, those specialists will be gob smacked.
Who knows you might even manage to wave bye to the sleep apnoea one sometime soon. ๐Ÿ™‚
Week 3 is definitely the week people find the weight loss slows a bit, but you’re still a kilo lighter than you were this time last week.
Can’t wait to hear your results next week.

Sorry to resurrect an aging topic but I have (had?) sleep apnoea. Since starting this diet I have not had an episode of apnoea at all, and am sleeping so much more soundly, as is Mme Maigret.

Seeing the learned medics next week, I may seek their advice.
