I’ve been reading a lot of other sites about low carb diets as I’m getting as much info as possible (nearly 2 stone in 6 weeks ๐Ÿ˜) and I keep coming across net carbs and I’m not sure what it means and how does it differ from carbs? Any advice greatly appreciated. Loving this diet – feel I’ve been conned by doctors and diet industry for past 35 years ๐Ÿ˜ก Xx

Net carbs are the carbs we can actually metabolise, and are the total carbs minus the fibre. UK sources and food packaging all use this as a matter of course, but I know in the US total carbs are quoted, so be careful if you are using a US based tracking app. Net carbs are what is important to be tracked, so if you are aiming for 50g carbs, another 15g or so of fibre minimum should be part of your diet as well.
