We realised that we hadn’t had breakfast or lunch, it was so hot and we were walking and shopping and drinking water, not so easy now we can’t nip into Greggs for a pastie lol. So after tea we were still really hungry. Enjoyed it too, just enough to take that edge off and really makes you feel like you’ve had something luxurious and naughty, doesn’t it?

    Thanks Gavin, it was..

Just found a recipe for oopsie bread using cottage cheese rather than cream cheese…http://www.food.com/recipe/carb-free-cloud-bread-411501 and I had in cottage cheese with chives full fat. Think they probably work out half the cals / carbs than made with cream cheese. Hoping they taste lush too as that will do lunch tomorrow

Must try the buttersquash noodles, and those stuffed mushrooms Frog!

I see and read so many lovely food / menus, and really must note them before I forget as am not saving the recent ones at all….

is this the brand of fudge you had? Which flavour?
    https://www.rawchocpie.co.uk/
if you get the gift pack (chocolate, vanilla and peanut butter – and ehm – Goji Barry), you save 90p
and you’d get to taste all of them. I suspect that goji berry would not be my favourite.
the raw pies look interesting too
Worryingly, I will be close to a stockist tomorrow!

Hi to all while most are still sleeping, I am glad we don’t have oppo icecream here. Orinocco you are doing fine just watch those bp meds. My bp and many other dropped very dramatically

Well ladies and gentlemen you convinced my that I should track instead of eyeballing.! I am glad someone mentioned that MFP is not always right. I did my day perfectly and there were my carbs well over 120 – MFP telling me that my 3 little passionfruit had 96 gms of carb. I have emailed them – wonder whether they will fix it. I may just have to add them in mentally.

On a serious note, thanks to all. I was on a plateau and then went up 3 pounds, but did not panic and have now lost it all and more and it is all due to you lovely people. Have a great Wednesday bsders

Well. I fell asleep in my chair at 8.30 pm. I was nudged awake at 12.30 am. And then slept again until gone 6 this morning 😮

Another 0.1 kg down this morning, only a small movement but still, in the right direction!

Smp – if you find something online, just bookmark the link. That’s what I’ve had to start doing, then just go to the bookmarks list and find it from there. Mine is in date order on Firefox so they’re not scattered around date wise, and I can see anything from June onwards is BSD friendly, and I have to ignore every recipe bookmarked pre BSD 😉

That’s the badger, Frog. Peanut butter one I bought. Think they were new in to this particular shop, and they only had the two stocked at the moment, peanut and vanilla I think they were. The raw pies do look nice! I never thought I’d see the day that I’d try stuff like this let alone buy it.

Desert Island Oppo – it would have to be coffee. Sorry Frog. Ooooooooooh coffee and walnut, actually.

Hope you enjoy it after my recommendation Avila! Even my husband liked it so that says a lot.

Thanks Tokyo! Oh that’s good, best they’re out of temptation isn’t it? The headache could be to do with the hot weather too, a bit of both. It’s funny, now I’ve had my little holiday blip, despite being quite good about it at the time, I’m now kicking myself for not having the things I miss! Why didn’t I have a slice of pizza instead of a slice of cake? Or a pie instead of a sandwich?? Why didn’t I use my naughtiness more wisely??

    Oh Runforfun – naughty 😉

Janey, if you’re making chickpea wraps whilst on holiday, you deserve a beer! 🙂

Well done Ruth. I think it works to an extent, but there comes a point where you have to track, doesn’t there? Even I have to now, I think from the 7th week.

Right – today’s grumble for you. Back? Fine. Hip? Fine. Leg/knee? Fine! Yippee?? No. So this is for any walkers here. Heel pain, and I mean under the foot specifically, when you put your foot onto the ground. Searing pain too that has you walking almost on the toes of the affected foot. I’m assuming it’s connected to the increased walking. Other than pain relief, is there anything I can do to prevent it or ease it? Any suggestions gratefully received because I don’t want to stop walking.

Hi Lucky. Re your foot pain. It might be what used to be called policemans foot and is plantar fasciitis .
To ease it try standing on tip toe on the edge of a stair and slowly raise and lower your heels. It stretches the planter muscle. Hope this helps.

Plantar Fasciitis has to be taken seriously – I ended up with it in both feet and gained 3 stone because I couldn’t walk for two years! Go see a physio urgently and get good, supportive insoles, massage your feet with either a frozen water bottle or a tennis ball every day and lots of calf and hamstring stretches. Look on ‘nutritious movement’ https://nutritiousmovement.com/plantar-fasciitis-tight-hams/

Interesting reading about ‘Policemans Foot’ – I’d never heard of it until, coincidentally, yesterday! Just came up in conversation. Feeling much better today thanks Lucky – not sure how ‘bad’ wine is 🙁 This morning I was tempted to eat something bad for no reason other than wallowing in self pity LOL! Not really – I’m good and determined to keep going with this. It really is amazing how you lose the desire to eat carbs. I won’t be riding today but I can walk so no excuses for me! It’s too hot to go outside in the afternoons here (France) currently so it’s early and late for walking etc..

    Hi Lucky
thanks for the confirmation – want to know I’m trying the “right” stuff.
Although I had a bit of a binge last night – I ate all of the jelly, then found a jar of nuts and dried cranberries.
I didn’t put weight on, but didn’t lose any either.
Maybe I won’t make the diversion to the shop that stocks it today! (not sure I can resist it being in the cupboard!)

Sorry to hear about your foot. At the exercise group I go to we do one where you extend the leg, then circle the foot – you can do it with a resistance band for added impact. Might help
You can do it standing, to improve balance and coordination as well, or sitting down.
My chiropractor recommended the same exercise when I had a problem with foot pain a few months ago – although that was more with the arch of my foot than under the heel.

I had a similar problem about fifteen years ago when I was walking a lot – mostly occurred on long walks, but could persist once it had kicked in . My GP referred me to podiatrist, I turned up and was talking about problems with walking – realised I needed to clarify and added that it kicked in after ten miles or do, and got the response of “why do you want to walk that far?” they sorted out shaped insoles for me for my walking boots, which I still have.
Amazingly, it was the chiropractor, where I was visiting for another problem, that solved it. After he’d done my back we were chatting about walking at the end of the appointment & I mentioned the problem – he said he’d see what he could do. Magic hands! A bit of manipulation of my foot, something clicked a bit, and totally sorted.
When I had a similar problem earlier this year, I got a few odd looks when I said “my foot hurts, I need to see my chiropractor” but they do take care of all things skeletal, not just the spine!

I don’t think it’s bad in moderation Antigone, and I suppose it depends what size glasses you use, if they’re ‘hard-faced’ as my grandmother used to say you’ll get three glasses to a bottle… I’ve just bought four small bottles for a fiver in Asda, so I can have a glass in moderation. Famous last words, they’ll all be gone by tomorrow. Once the bottle is open, that’s me done. Just the weather for a drink in the summer house tonight, tunes on, foot up, good book. Re carbs, the only thing that has really, really, really bothered me is pizza. Bog standard, frozen, thin base, pizza. I’m not fussed about bread really, only for the convenience of sandwiches while out etc, but I’ve made a decent loaf with flaxseed. Cakes – I’ve made three different muffins with almond flour/coconut flour that you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference with. At a push the chickpea wraps do for when I want a wrap. I’ve made a few potato things with turnip, wedges, corned beef hash etc and hubby and I have enjoyed them. It’s just pizza for me. I could still kill for pizza.

Haha Frog, love the definition of your binge, sugar free jelly, nuts and dried cranberries. I think we’re getting this bingeing all wrong, aren’t we? Or all right depending which way you look at it… 😉 I have some of those bands so I will try that too, and I really think I need to get my finger out and locate a chiropractor, don’t I? I’m hearing some really good stuff.

Awwwwwwww Tokyo chookie 🙁 I’d rather starve but you know me and cheese lol. Make sure you drink lots and lots of water. I’m baking tomorrow as we’re off to Lancashire for the christening so need to make bread and maybe a legal batch of cupcakes. I’ve found a new lot that look interesting! Fingers crossed it’s not a thoroughly tortuous Thursday for me!

Just been buying again, completely forgot daughter yesterday, she needed black trousers and shoes which she can then use for school so I’d have had to buy them anyway. Nipped to Aldi for some ground almonds as this almond flour is like gold dust at the moment. Some salad stuff to take down with us, cold meats and an aubergine! Pork in black pepper stir fry tonight with carroti, I think. Or turnip wedges. I’d best start boiling them now 😀

    Right stop the wagon.

I’ve had a very busy day, got up weighed in lost 4lbs this week, sweat I think. Walking a lot. Went to tai chi, ahhhh lovely then a very busy day working, my up informed me mid afternoon I was ahead of Lucky in steps, yeahhhh won’t last I’m sure, then did a weeks shop very virtuously, came home unloaded it to and fro to my car up my little horse entry lane, no room for a car, so more steps, then the pooch was looking at me in a very ooh lets get going way, so stuffed the shopping away quickly, much less nowadays as I’m eating normally now another woop. So took pooch for a little walk with a promise of a longer one later as I need a cuppa,. So I’m getting to the point now, I sit down with my tea and wait for it 112 emails, from all you lot. What are you all like, I’m busy working and you lot are all having a nice sip of tea and a Tate a Tate. So as I’m worn out someone give me a synopsis, as I’ve got to cook dinner in a mo and take poochy for a decent walk.

Ta ever so. Hope you are all okay. It’s been very summery here today, hope you’ve had some also.😎😎😎

Jk Frog 😉 Other than that, Yowzer can’t get on the forum, I’ve told her to clear her cookies and try a different browser, other than that I don’t know what else to suggest, I know this issue plagues a few of you, but it’s never happened to me. She can get on and read posts but not post. Something she posted earlier, I got through in an email, but it’s not on the page. Most odd.

    Oh yes forgot to say,

I had a practice nurse appt yesterday to check my I.N.R.for the warfarin I am on, got a good tongue lashing as it was very low, that’s because I had been enjoying walnuts spinach, etc, all antidote foods, that I really love, but she checked my b.p. my diastolic the lowest reading was below what it was when I started nursing when I was 18 I’m 58 now, and my b.p. Due to a neurological condition had been a major problem for a number of years, and she was blown away with my 2st 2lb weight loss and the turning around of all my S.L.E. Symptoms, so she looked very nervously at me asked me what I was doing, she wrote it down, I know the two g.p.s will be on this like a flash they are both very proactive, but she was so worried that here was this patient who for the past few years had been like the living dead, and now here I was saying I felt really really great, like I’m 19 again so bless her she felt I think she had to fix me so she said right we better check all your bloods, liver enzymes, Hba1c, and Hb I will see you in a week and we can discuss the results.

Bless her kindness, but can you imagine if my surgery sees 4-500 people a week, if they could just get 10 people on this plan imagine what a difference to their health. I still have a long way to go. But I am never going to knowingly eat refined carbs and sugars again. For anyone reading this thinking shall I do this plan. Yes get on with it get your life back again and start really living. If I can turn around the miriad of life threatening symptoms that I had that left me feeling like I was almost dead then anyone can do this plan. Before this plan I was a failed dieter that had been failing for 41 years. No longer greenjanet is on her way.
Phew worn out now need another cuppa. 😅😅😅

Wow Jan, that’s such an amazing turnaround with your health. How any GP could dismiss these findings is beyond me; sounds like your practice will be supportive. As you say, if just a small percentage of their chronic patients benefitted from this WOE the costs to the NHS would decrease significantly.

Jan, if I could do clapping hands on my PC I would *clapping hands* that is amazing. I’ve said before, we’re all here for a myriad of reasons, a lot of us not for the reason the diet was originally devised but for the brilliant side effects, and some for both. I forget sometimes that a lot of you out there have a medical reason behind this, whereas to me, it’s the best weight loss plan I’ve been on. I hope one of the proactive GPs takes note, I mean, at the end of the day we’re talking highly educated people. I think it needs the young ones to realise, take it and run run run with it.

I had some wine yesterday – I fancied some when I was out and bought one of those ‘glasses’ that you peel the top off of from M&S.
I did buy my favourite prosecco in small bottles a while ago – it just didn’t taste the same as a proper bottle! I do often get the small bottles for non sparkling though for when I fancy a glass at home.
