    Hi Lucky
Thanks for asking – my back is still itchy/painful when the Ibuprofen wears off, the main problem is that its very difficult to find a bra that doesn’t cut right across the stitches. I was working today, so less time to sit about just feeling grumpy about it though.

It has a dressing on, although I think its been more painful since the dressing was changed – the nurse said she’d avoid putting padding in so that it stayed cool. She may not have realised the side effects of that (unintended consequences and all that!).
Today I found one of those bra type crop tops in the cupboard, generally much better, but less comfortable walking than wearing a normal bra – the stitches come out next week, and I’m hoping it will start feeling better soon.

    Hi TiggyB

I also use the Samsung S Health and have the new Gear Fit 2. Brilliant combo and IMO superior to other options available especially as the Samsung S Health app allows you to record blood glucose & pressure amongst other things.

I am not sure how data can be shared with jawbone or even if there is a way using another app. Will investigate.

Janey, I’ve found 2 Pacer apps on my android phone but don’t know which to pick, any idea? One’s by sprightly interactive and the other by eyeonweb.

Gavin, I love my Gear Fit – recording my blood sugar on there and my weight. Just wish I could change the colour of the steps symbol on the watch when you reach your step target – bright yellow is too much for me! lol

Today’s culinary delights are my usual healthy shake for breakfast with espresso, soup for lunch and almond & basil chicken. Just added the calories and its 666 calories. The devils work going on here 🙂

I think I’d better add some snacks , a half a banana and cheese chunk to take me to 802 calories for the day.

Well done Tokyo, you’re getting there aren’t you 😊 Yes you should have a Cinderella moment today. Taking all day. And you should be stood in the same position doing it… all day. Not moving your legs. Haha! Go easy on Janey and I. Please 🙏 😅

I am also pleased and amazed to report that I am another 0.8kg down from yesterday 😮. As I only weigh in kilos for the psychological aspect of seeing the scales go down more often but think in stones, I don’t know yet if I’ve just done my 2.5 stone or if I’m a smidge off. Am on my phone. Will get up make a coffee and investigate. This is all the walking having an effect days later!

    Back in a mo!

Hey Tokyo that’s terrific polish that halo! I’m not someone that loses huge amounts each week just a steady trickle but somehow I’m on week 10 and the numbers are starting to add up. Week 10 how did that happen? This woe has had its ups and downs but its sustainable and for that reason I’m keeping going. I’ve got a long way to go but feel relaxed about it at the moment I’ve been trying new recipes that don’t feel like diet food if you know what I mean…I had the most amazing aubergine stew with cauliflower rice last night. Can’t quite sell the rest of the family on the cauliflower rice but one day maybe.

I’ve been thinking about previous diets often at higher calories than this one and on those I was always obsessed by food but in the sense of being hungry or what I couldn’t have. On this I’m kind of celebrating new recipes and finding a little joy and a lot of relief in a style I feel very comfortable with. I still take a good old whack of steroids each day which if anyone has ever done so will know drives up your appetite in a way that a friend once described as ‘well I will either eat the wallpaper off the walls or the dog had better watch out!’ And with the BSD I’m finding I’m at peace with this artificial appetite.

So here’s to us all let’s keep going and enjoy this lifestyle !

Welcome Tigger and Hello Angie too 🙂 Morning Gavin, that chicken sounds good, I love chicken and basil together.

I am…. just a smidge off my 2 and a half stone. Under a pound off. So I am really going to have to push myself for the next two days until my official last BSD 800 Saturday weigh in. Then the lunacy shall start all over again for another 8 week cycle. Bwahahahahahahahaha! I really hope I get it, it seems fitting for me to have a nice, neat number at the end of it. You know me… 🙂

Not woke up properly yet… got Tesco for Flaxseed, Farmfoods for frozen crap for the man-boy while I’m away otherwise he’ll starve and HB for my antihistamine, then it’s breadmaking interspersed with a futile attempt to keep up with Tokyo’s steps. While still beating Janey. Hahaha. Ha.

I am absolutely buggered Janey, but on a serious note, I am crediting the increased walking with the weightloss. It’s been… patchy to say the least for the last couple of weeks, days and days of staying the same or yo-yoing the same 0.1 kg (who even does that? Me that’s who!) I’ve lost 1.2 kg in the last two days, which is more than I lost last week. The walking is definitely one of the keys, it hits you a couple of days later on the scales, but I’ve got such a long, long way to go. I must admit I felt a bit gutted yesterday when someone, was it Irishgirl, said they were down from Obese to Overweight. Not that they had done it, of course, but when I checked how much more I needed to lose to get to that. 50lbs. That’s not 50lbs altogether, that’s ANOTHER 50 on top of the 34 already gone. And even then, I’m going to be ‘overweight’. I need to lose another 76 lbs to get to the tail end of the healthy range. Sometimes it’s a bit… you know. Daunting I suppose. So I really need the laughs here. And I need to be spurred on to move.

But I shall also take a cup from the pot of hurrah for my excellent 2 day weight loss 🙂 I might even try on my JOTF to see if the triangle has changed shape. Not a euphemism for newbies – we mean the triangle you get when you try on too small jeans or pants and they won’t pull together to close.

Do try them though Tokyo, you never know how close you might be, or closer. Remember Mixnmatch the other day? They were only JOTF for about ten minutes for her before becoming JOTP!

Righto, will be back later, I’ve got shopping to do and the houseproud sister in law’s visit is in 3 days and camping is in 4 days and the house is like a tip and I need to make bread. Have a great morning and hopefully I’ll come back to more positive scale news or Cinderella moments this afternoon 🙂

Turnips were kind of interesting Lucky! Did the boiling and roasting and garlic powder on them but not sure I was patient enough to let them go totally crispy. There was kind of water stuff in them 😹😹 as I tried to explain no no no NOT piggy food, at all at all… 😂😂

Still, with longer roasting I have good hopes for them.

Good duelling last night you walkers, I wa at yoga but will be doing big fat walk tonight. 👏🏻👏🏻

I think you should harness your sister in laws cleaning ability and leave tasks for her!! She seems to like being useful so maybe leave the attic open or the messy cupboards adjar😹😹😹💪🏽

Good luck on bread, three ways omg you are a cooking powerhouse! I’ve snuck back to living on eggs fish and veg again..time to stop looking up cake recipes and start Making interesting food again. Just had eggs and peppers and a square of dark chocolate for breakfast…😳😂

Hello! Today is my first day and I am excited and nervous!

I’m 45 and was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at 40, after losing 2.5 stone! To begin with I was able to control my blood sugar through diet but that didn’t work so on to the metformin. I’m also on anti-depressants that help my mental health but not my blood sugar! At the end of last year I tried the Whole 30, and lost weight and felt great, and my HbA1C went down. I didn’t stick to it, but knew I had to do something when I saw the Blood Sugar Diet Book in my Amazon recommendations. So, on day 1 I weigh 73.9kg, 11 st 8.5lbs. I’m 5.3 ish so I’m definitely overweight. Reading your posts is encouraging and I can’t wait to try the recipes.

Mornin all. Lots of motorway miles yesterday meeting clients, hence only the one post.

Last day of work today before hols on Monday! Yaaaayyy

Lots of tidying, washing and packing for me for the next few days. I’m also going to hit the gym tomorrow and on Saturday evening I’m going to attempt 2.5km of front crawl non stop. Something I haven’t done since 2013! Wish me luck!

I’ve finally managed to convince (read “nag”) my wife to come on the BSD with me, and I think I’ve also finally managed to convince her to train up for a swimming holiday next summer. Wooohooo. A swimming holiday is something I’ve been keen to do for years. You can do them all over the place, but the one I fancy doing is where every morning you get up, have breakfast, pack your bags, throw them into a boat then swim to the next island where you will stay that night. Next morning same again. You normally start with a gentle 1 or 2km, but by the end of the week your next island can be 5 or 6km away!

Ive never gone over 800 once and no intention of stopping now..weigh in tomoz first thing after staying overnight at DDs!
TIMMY great news on getting yr other half to join in on BSD! And only a few days til yr hols woooohoooooo!
