Good morning all 😀 Bear with me while I just check if smug mode is engaged… there!

Oooh Josie, that does sound interesting, might try and get that on catch up, if it’s on a catch up channel?

Tokyo, thank you 😉 Feeling in a much better mood after a decent night’s sleep. Still very, very tired, it’ll take days to even out, but I’m not feeling as… homicidal today.

Oh no Janey! But! In retrospect, chickpeas v steak, no brainer, and it is your birthday weekend so… win! Hope your meal was good and you didn’t keep the poor owner to his word! Ah you simply MUST try the steam next time…

And let’s kick off the week’s wins with – 0.9 kg down from yesterday 🙂 After yesterday’s day long downpour, the sun is shining, the sky is blue. Just have my black coffee (didn’t fancy the cheesy smelling milk) as I work out what we’re eating today 🙂

Of course you haven’t, you’ll be fine! It’s like riding a bike! Everyone’s been a bit quiet, it’s summer, isn’t it? Everyone’s going to be off doing things. I only give the illusion of being omnipresent because my PC is in my living room, on from sun up to sun down and I can see the notifications from Google lol 😀 I just drop whatever I’m doing and come to see whenever I see that little yellow box hehe. We’ll be here waiting for you 🙂

Don’t know what I’m going to do when I’m camping. There’s wi-fi up at the farm shop and bistro but it’s a bit of a walk up every time I want to post or check something lol. Might check in once a day, and have a nice glass of wine up there as I do so 🙂 Stagger back because thanks to the BSD I’ll now be a very cheap date indeed!

Me too, and not just in what I want to eat, but feedback from others (like you and Janey) about how things are affecting people after eating this way is also having an impact. I was the same about pastry Tokyo, that was my undoing. I don’t know if this makes sense, but I’d rather not eat it and be put off for life by the fallout? If I ate a pastie now and it made me feel ill, I’d be devastated lol. I’d rather remember pastie the way he was, than someone who gave me heartburn and left me off colour for days. The memory of pastie shall be preserved as I remember him. Lol.

Such a great weekend but noooooo, as suspected first week in 10 weeks I haven’t lost weight, in fact gone up – only by .6kg but annoying all the same. Especially when walked 23000 steps !!! yesterday and 11000 the day before 😳😭 and pretty much stuck exactly to plan for last 3 days anyway.

Maybe it’s the water as I didnt drink as much over weekend (though still a good bit) and that seems to make massive difference to me. That and lady pound – guess it could be a lady .6kg!!! As Timmy said, as long as it doesnt become a trend. Tried on pair of trousers which were tight before and fit fine now so inches are still going or stating gone anyway. I knew it would get harder as I got closer to my goal but hopefully that thought isn’t becoming real because I think it! Anyway, this week is another week, lots of water, keeping up walking, and tracking again. Hope you all have better weigh days!!

Janey spa sounds fab and steak yuuuum.

Omg Eps well done on the steps yesterday! 23000? That is absolutely immense, I bet your legs were (are?) aching off! That is definitely going to impact on the scales in a couple of days time! Lady pounds are the worst because you haven’t eaten anything to show for it 🙁 lol. It’s showing in inches too 🙂 Pounds and kilos don’t make the clothes fit, it’s inches. Increased weight could be a multitude of reasons, do you want me to give you the poo pep talk again? No? 😛 hehe. I think you’re doing great, try not to dwell on it, press on now.

She is on very, very thin ice with me. Very. I’m sure it was, as was the darts booming and me shouting ‘GET IN!’ every leg MvG won! 🙂

Thank you Eps, it’s going to be the increased walking that’s doing it. I’m looking out at the weather and wondering if I could con a child to walk three miles to town with me if I download Pokemon Go on my phone? Only thing is, I only have a small amount of monthly data, because it’s something I’ve never done before, used internet on my phone, so I only went for 500 mb a month, and I have noooooooooo idea what that even means in terms of usage. I only use it to check my emails when I’m out and about. Would really like to get my 10,000 today, sometimes I ace the treadmill, other times it’s soooooooooooo bloody boring.

Ha ha ha yes definitely Pokemon is a good one for walking, my oh comes out for walks all the time playing it😹 Though he was good before too but now it’s a treat! Easier to walk somewhere and back so if you can get steps done on a treadmill you’re going to find it sooo easy outside. If you have a radio documentary app, they great to listen to while walking? The Irish one is doc on one (radio one), you’d like some id say! 👏👏

Only thing is… I can’t wear in-ear headphones. I have to have over ear ones. My nephew rips me to shreds calling me Dr Dre. It’s not a good (outdoor) look for a 40 year old woman. Not a good look at all. According to some forum I’m looking at 20 – 30 mb an hour playing the game. So maybe I can spare them a couple of hours here and there. I saw two people walking up the side of the A55 on Saturday, literally at the side of the traffic. She was carrying shopping and looked peed off and he was glued to his phone. I’m talking a couple in their 50’s. I was wondering… lol. Nobody’s awake yet anyway, except my daughter, whose boyfriend is coming down today, hairdryer is going, the works. Doesn’t seem like yesterday that was me… 🙁 Off out for the day with a boyfriend, done up to the nines. Now, I’m stuck in, doing THE SAME HOUSEWORK that I did yesterday. It’s Groundhog Day! Which, incidentally, and this is no joke – is also my Wedding Anniversary. I got married on Groundhog Day. So I should have expected nothing less really, should I?

Thanks Eps but it’s not my Wedding anniversary today, my wedding anniversary is on Groundhog Day, I just meant my life is like that film, wake up and repeat the same day over and over and over… lol 🙂 same housework that I did yesterday. It’s not until February 2nd.

Once you’ve taken mash, pies, dumplings and stodgy puddings out of the equation… I think it’s going to be a lot easier sticking to it in the heat, because you can always have a salad. Good morning to you all! It’s a bright and sunny day in Brighton and I’m enjoying a cuppa whilst road men dig up the street below. Grrrr 😡 Actually it’s the seagulls that are annoying. Usually they are a gentle reminder that you’re by the sea but these bas****** are as big as dogs and as scary, and screech all night long. I even heard someone tell one to SHUT UP at 4am!!! I shall Chillax a bit more then I think it’s time for a wander down the Lanes. There are a million and one eating places around here, including a lot of Paltrowesque vegan gaffs so I’m bound to find one that caters for us BSDers 😆

Oooooooh get you sticking to the plan while away 😉 It’s easier when you have the choices though, isn’t it? Tea tonight is turkey breast and that zesty bean quinoa thing I bought from Iceland. Not inspiring me though, at all. Things may change, watch this space.

Have a lovely day Janey, get that step count up!

I’ve got no chicken and I’ve defrosted this stuffed turkey thing now. Meh. Trying to clear out freezers at the mo because I keep buying every week, and if we are going camping it makes no financial sense buying for here and buying while away. Although husband just admitted now he’s not confident in taking the trailer so I’m a bit annoyed, when the basis of the argument of downsizing from an 8 seater to a 5 was that we could still camp as he’d bought a trailer. I don’t drive so it’s out of my hands.

Wonder could you get a roof rack from someone Lucky? Or one of those plastic things that go on the top of the car? Someone might have a loan of one or maybe you could get one for cheap enough on one of those websites – buy/sell?
Sounds v frustrating but it’s only stuff and you’ll have a great time once you get there hopefully… leave half of it at home!

Wouldn’t worry about winter recipees – loooooads of great stuff we can have and a change will be good then. I will probably have had enough courgette noodles after 3 months more of it :-)))) We can have stews and casseroles and delicious things! Heard turnips work well instead of potatoes – little cubes of them. Hope you not still starving. I had sauerkraut and radishes and tomatoes and half an avocado for lunch and piece of dark chocolate hee hee. Yes, need to cut that out… I know!

Tokyo glad to hear you a 50’s starlet in your rediscovered dress. It’s a good feeling! Not that I know the 50’s starlet one yet but the feeling of something looking good!

Janey keep us posted on fancy vegan Paltrow choices you made – it’s kind of nice to be somewhere where the food has none of the bad stuff in it – relaxing to look at a menu and think ooooo which one of these will I have, instead of oooo could have that, without that and maybe a bit of that…

Good on you gymgirl – keep up the good work. Hope your daughter shares her flowers – with us all :-)))))

Latest news my OH is starting with me tomorrow – YAAAAYY. I dont even mind if it means making double everything because I know I ll be even more motivated trying to show him there’s loads of delicious stuff still to eat. He’s just doing it to be healthy – I bet the weight will fall off him, though he doesn’t have much to lose except around waist. Do men only get 800 calories too? Delighted anyway as think this way of eating is great for everyone.

BTW – that porridge bread is so delicious. Wouldn’t advise it maybe if not able to stick to one slice every now and again as it is more carbs than some people could cope with I guess, but really, sooooo tasty – had some with an egg this morning. Delicious! It’s now in the freezer for times of emergency and for the odd piece every now and again. 14g carbs and 5.8g Protein and 111 calories per slice (I5 in whole loaf).

That was discussed Eps, a roof box – which incidentally, we used to have! Until he decided to sell it as we didn’t need it when we bought an 8 seater… you can’t make this up. It wouldn’t be a case of leaving half of it at home, the tent will literally take up half the boot on its own. No, he has made his bed, he’ll have to lie in it. I’m not forking out again on something else, if he wants a roof box, he can sell the trailer. God knows why he bought the bloody thing anyway.

I’m not hungry because I just went and had one of those little bars of Aldi 85% chocolate and now I feel sick. Yes, sick. I can’t believe it. I used to be able to demolish a 200g slab and not feel sick. Yes, there were a few turnip recipes earlier in the thread that were exciting (well, as exciting as this gets anyway…) and I was off looking for turnips at the market but they must be out of season.

That’s great news about your OH starting with you 🙂 Yes I think it’s 800 across the board on this one. It is do-able though, my husband was 18 stone 4 when he started and he’s coped on 800 calories for over 6 weeks.

Great too that the bread was a success! I don’t count carbs but I would take care with any bread, whether it was legal or not and probably only have a slice here and there. Did it toast ok? Can you tell I’m still thinking about peanut butter on brown toast???

awh poor Lucky – can hear the annoyance about that bleeding car. Damn, that roof box wouldve been useful. Ha ha ha ah well, as you said, he can work it out! Is there any enjoyment in saying I told you so? (to him) I enjoy a good I told you so :-0)))))

he he sick after a tiny bar of 85% is a good thing as apparently they only meant to be eaten in small quantities – who knew?? Like the vegan and the meat eater about animals: well why did they make them so delicious so!!!
Anyway, high five for abstemiousness in face of car turmoil! ;-))) (Up-style)

Yes, toasts deliciously. Really. It would be fab with peanut butter or almond butter. Yes, yes yes. Tell husband that if he sorts out that car quick he can have a piece soon 😉

My face must be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally pulled or something because he’s just washed up lol. He’s said he thinks he can cope with towing it. It’s not big or anything, just he’s never pulled one before, and he was quite a late driver at 36. He is very careful though. He just said he’ll have to get used to it now. But still, the damage is done and I’m in a bad mood and I want wine and a (twin pack) cinnamon bun. There. I’ve said it.

Seagulls are bad up here too, there’s a pair that have decimated my Mum’s garden for two years now, they break her ornaments, rip up all her plants. They were seen in the street attacking someone’s car tyres. Absolutely batsh*t they are. But the ones in Devon are frightening. My parents haven’t been for three years, my father said he would never go again, just because of the seagulls.

Yes I escaped Paltrow land. OH are so much last night that he didn’t want lunch. I grabbed a quick feta and avocado salad in All Bar One. I say ‘quick’ but we waited an eternity – the service was terrible. And unapologetic. When the bill came I paid it short and wrote on the bottom ‘10% deducted for appalling service’. Don’t upset Janey 👊🏼

Now we are having a quick break on the interminable journey back home. I don’t know how anyone can commute using M25 – it’s soul destroying.
