Its better to work on calculating the grams of carbs you have. Some people find they have to be under 20g of carbs a day, others who only have a little weight to loose and are not insulin resistant can be successful as high as 50g of carbs.
Use an app like fatsecret on you mobile phone to log what you eat and it will tell you the number of grams of carbs, fat and protein.
