Today was a much better day for me, the scales are being kind, my fasting BS is returning to “new normal”, I ate really sensibly, read more recipes on the forums here, feeling quite positive today and hope it will continue, saddened by the news that rain is coming this way but then that’s good for the garden so it’s actually a win.

How was the chiropodist Sunshine Girl? I’m happy to take on July if Verano has June covered.

Arctic Fox, when I’m at work and have my set food with me i’m really good and can keep on track, if I have something to do when I get home then I’m really good, when I’m out and about I’m really good, I think it’s just when I find myself at a loose end that my mind starts wandering and I go searching for things to eat, I’ll be honest if I have good snacks in then I can stay on track too, I think when I mentally have a down day I turn to food to pick me up, so I guess I just need to get sensible ‘pick me up’ food in the cupboards. With regards to exercise, I ran 3 times per week before I was diagnosed, I walk the dog, I’ve always been quite active, the only extra I have put in to my weekly routine is strength work but I need to do this due to losing muscle mass and I have sporting events coming up that I need to be in shape for. I have counted calories for a long long time eating around 1200 – 1600 calories daily so I’m used to low calorie food just not the low low carbs, although I never really ate much pasta, rice, bread to the point when I would carb load for sporting events I couldn’t as I didn’t enjoy them, but I enjoyed other naughty carbs.
I’m hoping that now I can access this site more easily I will be able to refer to it in times of need, and have enlisted a friend to run with should my mood dip, I have also made family aware of how they can help when I’m in a struggle, so things mentally are looking up (I hope), I know primarily this is down to me, but having friends and family on side will help with the tough times. fingers crossed today’s positive attitude will continue. Hoping everyone has also had a good day today, and we are all here should anyone need, I know I certainly appreciate the support from you all.

Hi all, hope you are doing okay. Newbie, it sounds as though you are a boredom eating but I wont give you any tips (like painting your nails – you cant eat) you seem to have it in hand. Great you have someone to run with. The chiropodist was my routine diabetic free pedicure so was nothing special.

I have had a rash on my arms and feet since Sunday and it cant be something I have touched as I wore long sleeves and boots when I was planting tomatoes. I saw the pharmacist and he said an allergy and gave me a stinky cream which did nothing. When it was on my feet (noticed at the chiropodists) I popped into the doctors on the way home to make an appointment and doctor saw me an hour later. He was a bit worried it might be a circulation or blood clotting problem and sent me for bloods. Nothing came back as something wrong so I am stuck with the cream (but a different one and not stinky). At least the doctor took is seriously as I am always worried about being a nuisiance but know diabetics can get all sorts of skin problems.

Diet is going well and I am losing slowly. Need to put a spurt on as I am going out on Monday for a meal and drinks.

I will set up the new thread now – Monumental May – we will make it. See you there.
