Ahem, well this isn’t a polite topic, but I wonder if any others have suffered constipation during their Fast 800? Other than drinking a lot more, does anyone have some good remedies to this problem?

Hi mr.b If you put constipation in the search field, you will find quite a bit of discussion and some ideas on how to tackle it. Good luck!

My third weigh in and have only lost a couple of pounds, this time and I think that’s because I have simply stopped ‘going’. I bought some Fybogel yesterday, so hope that will sort things out haha..

mumofstig, i’ve started weighing myself only if i feel not constipated and that has really helped prevent unnecessary discouragement. find several cups of coffee or any warm drink in the morning helps to get things moving, but it still is less than before. think atkins mentioned that he thought our idea of a normal amount of poo was way too much, anyway? not sure if mm or modern science agrees, though. i am experimenting with raisin bran for dinner – not low carb i know, but hopefully helpful in this issue.

A friend recently recommended taking pysillium husk in water, to help with poor transit and that seems to really be helpful. Also, magnesium tablets can help too.

SunnyB, Yes, Psyllium aka ispaghula is what is in the Fybogel that I’ve started taking, it does seem to move things along, as long as you remember to drink more water to swell it ๐Ÿ˜€
It’s cheaper to buy on E-bay, rather than from the chemist – as long as you keep an eye on the expiry dates, it’s ok.
