Simple to make and so much tastier than BB’s out of a can. This is a bulk recipe which I portion into 100 calorie servings.

Ingredients

• 1 brown onion chopped finely
• 10 ml olive oil
• 1kg of tomatoes, fresh or canned, chopped
• 2 x440g cans of cannellini beans, drained
• 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp Maple syrup
• 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Method

Put oil and onion in pan and cook until soften and just colored. Add the tomatoes and stir.
Reduce the heat to a simmer and put the lid on, simmer until the tomatoes have broken down.
Add the rest of the ingredients with a pinch of salt and black pepper and cook another 5 minutes.

This recipe is for a large bulk quantity 900 calories total.
I divide it into 9 portions and use 1 with a poached egg or with mushroom for breakfast. or take 2 portions to work for lunch.

Quite tasty. However was super tasty the second time when I halved the first four ingredients and kept the remaining as the recipe. Also I found the original recipe made a LOT of beans!

I have made this recipe a few times. I added some chilli and garlic to the onions and then put in fresh basil really added to the flavour. Much better than can bake beans with lower salt
