In reading elsewhere on low carb dieting, in addition to the advice to eat moderate protein and enough fats, it is advised by some that we should ensure we are getting enough sodium.

    So, how much is enough?

I don’t add salt when cooking, as I don’t particularly like it. Should I be adding some, or is the amount I get in bought prepared foods like cheese , tinned tuna, etc going to be enough?

Hi Hawks, Daily value for Sodium is 2,400 milligrams or 2.4 grams. You will have to count your salt if you are worried based on the nutritional data for the food you eat until you are sure you are getting enough. Most people find it difficult to avoid Sodium in food. It is in most things. To “Google” your food or visit one of the sites that provide the data and there are lots.
