Hi MandyC
I guess most things APART from, bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes. None of the obvious carby stuff like pies, cakes and biscuits. Very few root vegetables.
Lots of us enjoy full fat greek yogurt for breakfast, Total (Fage) in the UK but any full fat yogurt without added sugar. Berries sparingly and proteins …. eggs, chicken, beef, fish etc, Home made soups are a good option but try not to use too many root vegetables. Nuts for snacking but in moderation … almonds and walnuts for me.
Find a good calorie/carb counter online. Myfitnesspal or fatsecret are popular. Just check out some of your favourite foods you may be surprised or shocked at their carb content.
Enjoy the journey!

We plan our menu on a Thursday and shop only for that each week – no extras. Our essentials always include green veg, like spinach, brocolli and mange tout, then red peppers, houmous, olives, avocados, chicken, fish and eggs, full fat yoghurt, berries, nuts and seeds. There are a couple of recipes that use Chorizo and we normally stick a cauliflower in the trolley for luck!

Hi MandyC,
Mine are pretty similar to those already listed: whole cauliflower for making things like cauli cheese (one of my staples on this plan!) and cauli rice (Asda and Sainsbury’s do it, if you’re in the UK) as a rice/pasta/potato substitute, cabbage (all types), broccoli, green beans – most green veg really! Also: bacon and lardons, cheese, full fat Fage/Total, blueberries and raspberries, eggs, crustless quiche or frittata, deli meats, peanuts and peanut butter (in moderation!), prawns, pork belly, chicken, steak. Enjoy your shopping!
