Hi all, I am a carb junkie. 3 days in and I am doing fine.Just a slight headache. No hunger (just crave carbs). My question is, how do I up protein without adding fat? I have bought fat and carb free protein powder. But don’t want this to be a long term solution. Thanks

Hi and welcome. Well done on you good start.
Remember that fat is not the enemy and is an important part of this way of eating, however, you can add protein with lean fish and meats if you are concerned that your fat intake is creeping too high.
I’m sure someone else will be a long to offer ideas too.
    Best wishes …

    Hi Optimist
Take a look at the Diet Doctor site (dietdoctor.com) for some good recipes. I’d say use real protein rather than powders, and eat real unprocessed foods. Diet doctor also has some good info on this too https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/foods#foodlist
If you are used to large meals you will need to limit your serving sizes – an App can help you with this to log the food you are eating. Weighing and measuring is a bit of a hassle – but you only need to do it for a few weeks to gain an understanding of portion control.🌼
As SunnyB says – good fats are an essential part of this way of eating, as are some carbs – from green above-ground vegetables, some diary (cheese cream butter) etc
