Hello everyone & a post I sent yesterday seems to have disappeared. I have gained 1.5 lbs & it’s my birthday today & my husband & I had our family visit over the weekend for a joint celebration birthday lunch on Sunday where I cooked roast beef with all the trimmings & dinner out on Saturday for my husbands birthday. None of which is exactly slimming but only once a year.
I now have received my orthopaedic consultants letter after five weeks of waiting which is grim reading about my right knee but hopefully now after my self referral to my local Musculoskeletal team & support from my GP with a further urgent referral to the NHS might be able to take some positive helpful action. I’m not sleeping well & taking my sleeping tablets & paracetamol more frequently but refuse to take the Co-Drydramol which was the only « help » my GP gave me because it doesn’t do much with my pain but is also addictive. At least I’m unlikely now to have surgery before Christmas so at least can plan my time up until then.
Oh well I still feel I am in limbo & it’s difficult to keep focusing on losing weight although I should do for my knees & certainly still want to be stay wearing my current clothes.🤔🤞
Well done those oh you managing to keep on track 👏👏

Hi all, weigh in today and gone from 71.3 to 71.6 so not a happy bunny. I would be okay with it if there was an actual reason but our bodies are mysterious. I will not let it get me down as I have been here before when I was 74.3kgs and that passed eventually. Anyway, I am 1.5lbs down from 2 weeks ago so just under the 1lb a week. Forever the optimist.

Verano, I think I am going to have to look at the house before she arrives and work out my priorities instead of just saying ‘comme d’hab’ i.e. the usual. If I want a particular corner by the bookshelf cleaning I should tell her, if I want her to include the kettle and the toaster wiping over when she does the kitchen then I will put it on the list. And I will tell her not to be quite so vigourous with the vacuum cleaner. It really is a big help and I have to remember how we would leave things until they were really needing doing and then making a big job of it. So that is what I will do. I wont hand her a list but explain then write things down so she can refer to them. It is only ever 5 weeks so not a financial burden and I do other things I wouldn’t ask her to do like the bookshelf – too many things on it that would have to be cleared first, same with the sideboard – full of photos.

Did 30 mins exercise yesterday and might have a look at doing some yoga today – just to get some flexibility back.

I have seen all the snow in the UK and hate to say it is 18 degrees here today but it really is damp and miserable as well so can’t really get out into the garden to trim the lavendar and do other bits.

    Have a good week.

Hi Margaret, happy birthday – nearly missed it as your post was on the previous page and we had just jumped to page 2 but it came up as an email on my phone. So, happy birthday again, hope you have a great day and lots of treats.

Also, hope things are going to go in the right direction for your knee surgery. It must be awful to be in pain all the time and constant painkillers cannot be the answer. Take care and stay strong.

Happy Birthday Margaret. I really hope you can get the knee dealt with soon. 🤞Being in constant pain is so wearing and leads to so many other problems. 1.5lb as a result of celebrating with family and friends seems reasonable! 🥴 It just needs a little nudge in the other direction!

S-G. Our bodies are amazing things, they suddenly just stop the fat being lost, then lose a whole lot in one drop, when they feel the time is right …I am sure you will get back on track…
Wow 18 *, unlike much of the uk, we don’t actually have any snow here yet, but it is very cold. So I expect my body will try to conserve some of its remaining fat! 😉
    Keeping on…

Hi all, had another hypo last night. Not serious, I got up for the toilet at 5am and felt strange so took my BG and it was super low. Had to eat something so had some ham, a glucose sweet and then a piece of cheese. Makes dieting very hard as I have to eat. I will reduce my insulin tonight to try to stop it happening again. Being diabetic is a constant pain in the butt.

Still got my eye on that dress. I am going to order in 2 sizes and get them sent to daughters in time for us arriving. Free delivery and free returns from Debenhams so can decide then. Don’t think they are going to sell out as the 16 has said only 3 left for the past 2 weeks.

Bit colder here today at 11 degrees but we are forecast for 22 on Sunday so I am hoping to get back into the garden and finish the lavendar.

Sorry to hear that s-g but could be a good sign that you need fewer units of insulin? Keep your eye on that dress!

Margaret … HAPPY BIRTHDAY … for yesterday. Hope you had a good day. Do hope your knee surgery isn’t too far away. It will happen (you know you can ask to be referred to hospitals throughout the country, not just your local ones). Life will be so much better after your surgery.

I’m popping over to the ‘positive ‘ thread now!

PSL68 you can always start your own thread as a person just starting out on the diet. There are always newbies coming on site. Or, as Verano says, join in with us on this thread. You are already welcome. If you are thinking more in terms of one of the paid courses then this site doesn’t cater for them, we are all people doing the diet on our own for our own reasons. I think they have their own forum on Facebook but not sure.

Fast day today, as mentioned on the Hundred days challenge. So far so good, already planning a good late brunch tomorrow though.

    Hello everyone
I’ve been absent from the forums for a while. I read them everyday and really enjoy keeping up with all your news.
I hadn’t posted as I was not concentrating on my food intake the way I need too, so a bit off piste! Too many crackers and cheese and chocolate. BUT the last 2 weeks I have been back on and am feeling good for it. I am small framed and short – 4foot 10inch – so even though I don’t need to scale down by that many kilos, every kilo is significant for my size.
Very fortunate that summer has arrived here in Melbourne to coincide with my renewed enthusiasm – 37C today – so protein, salads and berry fruits (in moderation) are easy to do. Sticking to 16/8.
Also – I was looking up about Michael Mosley and what was been done research wise since his sad death. I found there is a Just Giving page where Clare and family are trying to raise funds for a 500,000 Pound research fund. So far it’s only raised 30,000 pounds – 🙁
So pass on that to friends and family if they are interested in donating a pound or two. It is also on The Michael Mosley facebook page.

Hello MerryMelba! Lucky you having summer arriving. We have winter arriving! It’s showing its nasty head with snow! I don’t ever remember snow in November.

So, my week so far is, for some reason, a bit static. Not sure why I’m fluffing around. I can only put my inertia down to the snow!

Realistically I think my ‘head’ has taken over this week. We were due to eat Thai out on Thursday but changed plans and then we are 10 for lunch here tomorrow. Maybe my mindset at the beginning of my week, Tuesday, was ‘ok this is going to be a difficult week, relax and just don’t let it get out of hand’. I haven’t but I’m still ‘static’.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I have always thought winter is the hardest season for dieting. Comfort eating during the cold months of the year is like a warm fluffy blanket! But, hearty casseroles, hotpots and good old fashioned roasts (Without the potatoes and parsnips), often avoided in most ‘conventional’ diets, are taking the place of hot buttered toast, doughnuts and boxes of chocolates. So I am finding that I am not craving my usual winter fare!
BUT still at the same weight I was on Friday 15th November. So I am going to mix things up a bit. I find eating breakfast a chore! I was so relieved to read that Dr Mosely said breakfast is not essential, if you are not hungry. So I have been having lunch about 12.00 and supper at 6pm. I am going to try having breakfast and skipping lunch for a few days, to see if that makes any difference. I only have 5lb to go to reach my target weight. 🤞I get there by Christmas!

    Hope you are all well.
S-G I am keeping on keeping on!

Hi all, still around 71.5 but not official weigh in until Tuesday. Feels like I have been this weight for weeks but looking back on my fridge chart it is only just coming up to 2 weeks so I have to KOKO… Still true to no alcohol November and will stick that out as well.

Lovely weather today at 20 degrees. Thought we could go out and finish the lavendars first trim but hubby prefers to use the hedge trimmer, quicker than by hand, and we are not allowed to use machines on Sunday after 12 noon. No hedge trimmers, no mowers etc. Just lovely peace and quiet. So I think it will be tomorrow when it will still be around 18 degrees.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

In truth I’m not doing very well just eating what is easy to prepare including frozen baked potatoes 🤔🙀. My weight has increased again but I must get back on track because I need to be able to still fit into my clothes.
Well done everyone still losing weight 👏👏👏⭐️⭐️
My December is full of sociable eating out lunches & dinners which is very unhelpful for losing any weight.
I have a five to six week wait to see a Senior Musculoskeletal Practitioner. I think the NHS is truly broken!!

Oh Margaret, it really is sad that the NHS has such delays. My husband and I are agreed that the NHS should come with a Government Health Warning⚠️. (You are likely to get a lot worse before we can get round to helping you 😢!)

Whilst it is great for your social life having lots of eating out lunches and dinners, it does play havoc with the diet! Still it saves you having to cook!!! 🥴
I am at a conference early next year, and have put on the booking form, under dietary requirements “Low Carb; no potatoes, pasta, rice or bread”. I have no idea whether they will be able to accommodate that, but I think it is becoming more widespread. I have spoken to a few people recently, who have certainly heard of the BSD and some who have used it. So I have my fingers crossed! 🤞

Take care, I hope you have a good week too!

Pootle I understand ‘conference’ food may be limited but when eating out I always check the whole menu for green vegetables. If they are offering broccoli for example on one dish then I’ll ask for a portion with my choice of main meal. I must admit I never have a problem asking for potatoes etc to be left off and green vegetables to be added. The problems only start if you ask for something not listed anywhere on the menu.

We had a lovely lunch for 10 here today. My shout so salmon, salad, humous, tsatsiki, and lots of Greek bits and bobs plus potato salad for those who wanted it. Lovely company so a good afternoon. No dinner needed so hoping to make my 1lb loss by Tuesday although I think that might be a tall order.

Hi all, just come back after reading a few posts.

As you know Pootle, I have asked for a low carb diet on my Christmas Lunch and it can be done – cant hurt to ask. Or as Verano says, just ask them to leave off the potatoes and add extra veg or salad. Following the Glucose Goddess I hope there is a salad choice for starter so I can line my gut and slow down the movement of any fast digesting foods I might find myself having.

Margaret, sorry about the wait you are having. If you lived in France you would have had it done within a couple of months of your original diagnosis. Yes France has a fantastic medical system but don’t forget you have to pay for it. As 2 oldies we are paying €210 per month for our insurance. They are not allowed to base it on any illnesses, just age. Even though we both have conditions which give us lifetime free care they dont reduce for that. BTW the free care is only for your condition so if you see a specialist for a hernia (just saying) you would have to pay but if I go for my routine heart check up that is free because it is in with the diabetes. You don’t have to have extra insurance as the state pays a certain amount i.e. you visit a doctor and it costs €26.50 you get back €18. It is when something big happens like my surgery which would have cost us around €4000 but with insurance cost €200. The UK is hell bent on hanging onto free at the point of care but something has to give. I remember going to the doctor on Tuesday with a problem that needed a gastro investigation gut up and down. He said can you make next Thursday – that’s about a good as it is.

I know it is a time for too many social occasions but I would say, if you are well enough then just enjoy it. You can be a bit picky for the diet if you want to stick with it but I have to eat the way I do every day because of the big D. People say, cant you just forget about it for one day but my diabetes doesn’t go away for a day. Also, as you all know the one day turns into 4 or 5 at this time of year so I have to stick with it at every event. Daughter is learning how it is for me as she has now gone vegan for medical reasons, she is also low carb and gluten free. When she eats meat, bread, etc she has terrible diarrehea and also skin rashes. She is facing her first Christmas on her diet. Her hubby said ‘your not eating like this over Christmas are you’. Of course she said yes. If she wants I will have the same as her. Fortunatley she can still have a gin and tonic.

    Cheers folks.

S-g … well just have to say ‘cheers ‘ to the gin and tonic!!!

Yes it can be so difficult when it comes to ‘holiday’ food. I guess it all depends on ‘why’ you’re here. If it’s to lose weight with no medical issues then fine indulge here and there if you feel like. However, if you’re here because you have had a T2 diagnosis then that’s a totally different ball game.

To control T2 it’s not a case of lose weight and stay at that weight and all will be well. There are ‘thin’ people who are fat on the inside so have T2. It’s very much a case of just not eating high carb. That’s a short term solution , its a new way of life.

Both s-g and I can testify that if you have T2 and you follow a low carb diet your blood sugar will normalise. Sunshine-girl takes insulin but is managing to reduce the dose. So all is good.

Heading into our last week of November and a month until Christmas. 🎄🎅🤶
Despite a diversion of dinner and wine with a friend I’ve discarded 1 kilo – 2 more to go. I don’t have T2, but low carb really helps ease inflammation in my body due to an autoimmune condition, and eases arthritic pain as well.
Hi Pootle – I don’t eat breakfast either and try to eat 12-8pm. But I think that a good breakfast with protein and veg would work well for me too, with an early dinner about 5. I just have to get to sleep earlier so I don’t start to feel hungry around 11pm.
Your lavender sounds lovely Sunshine girl. How many do you have? I just have one near my front door 🙂
I was inspired by the chaffle chat – and bought a mini waffle maker yesterday and am planning a chaffle as part of my dinner.

Thank you Pootle & S-G for your good wishes about my knees etc. It is ironic that I used to work for the NHS but of course when I originally was training at Guys Hospital we were supported by a Government bursary & not having to pay back horrendous fees now for any medical or other university courses.
S-G I found your explanation of the French health system fascinating & I agree a part payment system is needed here especially to identify health tourists that come here but the accounting infrastructure would need to be set up. I think as a minimum patients should be fined for not turning up to their appointments! My impression whilst still working there was a creaking not joined up IT system that I think they are trying to improve plus too many chiefs & not enough people working on the front line. I’m also worried about the future training & provision of properly trained medical personnel with cheaper associate interim roles already being created. Oh well such is life here at the moment! Sorry if I’m being controversial it’s just my personal perspective🤔
I’m trying to get back on track eating low carb & tolerating feeling hungry & spending lots of pennies no doubt losing carb fluid.
Keep on going everyone you are all inspiring me to become refocused on eating wisely. 👍😀

Hi all, same, same here, no change. Verano, put it on to record as it is Monday and I have so much else to watch. I like the 2 main soaps – Emmerdale and Corrie and I also like Only Connect and then University Challenge.

Margaret, the payment system for the health care is quite simple. You have a card which is connected to the CPAM (the NHS) and they have all the information regarding health, appointments etc, they are also connected to your bank and to any private insurance – it is a fully joined up system (a computer system that works). When you see a medical person they put your card in a machine they all have and they tell it what care you have had and if you have to pay it works out the states share, the insurance share and then how much you have to pay. Some ask for cash, in which case they money (according to the forementioned calculations) is paid back into your bank account. When I go to the hospital I call in the admin department first and all that get done. Because I have 100% free care for my diabetes I rarely have to pay anything up front but when I have, the money is usually back in my bank account within 2 days. So simply it works like a debit/credit card. One great thing is if you go for treatment and are not sure about what you have or had or drugs you are on etc they just put the card in their machine and voila, it is all there. They also connect to reminder systems. So today I had an SMS saying I have an appt on 2nd Dec, then 3 days before I will get another reminder and another on the day. If you are worried about being racist i.e. asking someone if they are entitled to French healthcare or not, everyone has to provide ID along with the card before a course of treatment so you are not making judgement calls based on how someone looks i.e. race. I think UK hospitals are worried about having to ask if people are entitled to use the NHS because they look different, then don’t treat them different, ask everyone to provide that information. That is not to say the French system isn’t struggling, it has its problems.

That’s not my soapbox just my experience of a part paid system. BTW if you are under certain financial constraints i.e. very poor you get free treatment, same for children, pensioners under a certain wage level or on benefits. We had a very similar system in Australia.

    Enough about that.

    Have a great week everyone.

S-g maybe it’s time for a bit of a shake up. I’ve been back on 2 meals a day so I think this week I’ll drop in the odd yogurt and berry breakfast. I find if I have eggs for lunch I lose. I think I must unconsciously eat less at dinner because I’m not as hungry. Who knows!

I also get SMS messages to remind about appointments but that’s about as mechanised as it gets. The NHS is in such a mess that we’re way passed the ‘tinkering’ stage to get things right. It needs a complete overhaul. I agree with Margaret ‘too many chiefs’. Nurses need to be valued more and paid accordingly to help stop the ludicrous situation where doctors and nurses leave the NHS and become ‘agency’ workers at hugely inflated sums. Not only is it a financial drain on the system but in my experience, and it is only my experience, agency staff aren’t as ‘committed’ to their work and, IMHO, don’t care as much.

Anyway, here we go with another week. Let’s make it a productive one.

I’m convinced the body needs a bit of a shake-up now and again. It’s so easy to fall into a pattern where we’re eating much the same foods at the same time everyday and a change could be all we need.

Thank you S-G for your details of how the French health system works & certainly would be helpful if copied here. At the moment my husband & I do pay for our optician & dental appointments & treatments but I we both do have free prescription medicines because of our ages & of course the various jabs currently available for the winter. I do now have a face to face appointment with my own GP so hopefully that might help things move on.
My husband & I watched the Chris Van Tulleken tv programme last night which was very eye opening but not surprising with the tobacco companies now involved with many of the large food companies & using the same denial tactics & amended research to address ultra processed food. No wonder people were healthy during the war walking everywhere, growing their own food & with limited sugar & sweets. Unfortunately processed food is convenient & cheaper then buying fresh food plus the time it takes to prepare meals from scratch!🤔 I know that recently I have been fed up with the time spent in the kitchen preparing fresh food & resorted to a fried eggs, low sugar baked beans & a frozen baked potato 🙀
I am trying to go back to a better routine now 🤞🤞
    Keep on going everyone 👏👏

Hi all, yes Margaret we also get free jabs because of age – just had our flu jab. Don’t know about prescriptions due to age but hubby and I both get free. We pay for dentist and have recently had a check up, xray and clean which cost around €150 (£135) and we got back €75 on our insurance and from the state. Enough of that now.

Managed to get back down to 71.3kg but that is a zero loss for the past 2 weeks. I am just under the 1lb a week for the run up to Christmas challenge as I lost nearly 3lbs in the first week. Still keeping on….. Although I have promised myself a drink on Sunday evening (1st Dec) after a full month of abstinence. Then we only have one pre-Christmas event here in France and they are catering for my diet.

All hell breaks lose when we get back to the UK as daughter has 3 Christmas dinners planned. Why you ask – some family visiting on the 23rd, her husbands children are never allowed to be with them on the actual day so the 24th is their Christmas, then we will have the real day on the 25th – I will be sick of it by then but hopefully will have kept to low carbing at all these events.

Had a really bad night and only slept for 3hrs 25mins (fitbit tells me) so I am hoping to sleep well tonight. It all starts with restless legs and not being able to get comfortable and I just keep moving about. I got up at 5am and watched an episode of Undercover Boss USA with a woman who made cupcakes. Ironic.

Hi everyone, good news today. I have finally hit 71kgs. Fingers crossed it is not just a blip.

Hi 54 and welcome to our monthly thread. It has never gone away, just changes its name every month. Great to hear you are doing so well and, no it is not an easy ride. The habits will kick in when you face things you never thought you could like no longer liking sweet foods or feeling a cringe when you think about eating something carby and your head tries to work out what to do to avoid it. Not sure if you are diabetic as your profile mentions a friend having an amputation – possibly it was just his weight that concerned you. Keep on keeping on….

Someone asked how many lavendar I have – 15 all in a line from my gate to my door. Mixture of English and French lavendar – although I am looking at replacing the French (also known as butterfly) as the flowers die off too quickly. They are fantastic for attracting bees and the bees are tiny and you can put your hand into the flower and the bees dont sting – think they must be a nonsting breed.

Going to try some of my current dresses now to see if they are getting baggy – still don’t know what size to order for my special dress.

Thank you Margaret but I think the point is I am upset at how large the dresses are. I don’t remember wearing size 19
8s. My trousers now are all size 14 and most of my tops as well. But dresses are a different matter. The 2 size 18s are very fitted and the brands are known to be be tighter fits (Roman and Oasis). I need to lose at least another half a stone to be getting back into clothes I was wearing on my cruise 8 years ago when I had first started this diet. I lost just over 2 stone and got down to 11 stone, currently lost just under 2 stone – so nearly there. Actually, it doesn’t sound so bad.

Not worrying as I still have 4 months before the cruise.

    Hi All,
Tomorrow is our national Thanksgiving — one of may favourite holidays in the year — the food is good and you can choose a bit less cornbread stuffing and a bit more Brussel sprouts…of course, the pie is another matter but I only really like the pumpkin filling in pumpkin pie (don’t tell my sister that her crust is stodgy and boring) — we will start with Old Fashioneds, move on to the mains and end up with pie. There will be wine and Sauterne in unseemly amounts.
The next day we will head to the beach and try to burn it off (down in Santa Barbara at my oldest sister’s house). The second night my family uses up all the turkey with an enchilada feast, enchiladas. guacamole, beer — it used to be for my Dad’s birthday on the 28th but he is gone now and the tradition lives on.
The following day we are back to low carb and low cal. Ahhhh, but what a lovely holiday it is.
Enjoy your holidays! I won’t be in England this year for Christmas but I will think of you and all the lovely goose and cake and all that.
Back to the BSD after the great day (two max for me!!).

Hello, just found this forum and jumping in to say Hi!
This is my second week of fast 800. Calories are averaging 750, protein around 58g, and carbs around 48g. I’m right at the top of the healthy weight range for my height and hoping to lose around 9kg to bring it nearer ideal. This isn’t just about the numbers for me – I had a really carb heavy diet and working at home I don’t do much active stuff at all. Honestly my body has just turned to blubber really and whilst I thankfully don’t have health issues right now I know I need to get on top of things.
I have lost less than 1kg so far but I’m trying not to panic about that and just keep going.
I was struggling a bit with constipation but I’ve upped my water intake and it’s not so bad.
I’ve started doing a brisk half hour walk at lunchtime. Not sure what else I should do or whether just keeping going is the best.
Nice to see the forum so active and knowledgeable. If anyone has any tips or advice that would be great!

Hi all, happy Thanksgiving to our American friends and family.

Welcome to CaseyJ12, You are not trying to lose much weight and are not seriously overweight so your losses will be lower and slower. I was just about 13kgs overweight and lost only 1lb in week one and 2lbs in the second by the end of my 8 week BSD I had lost a total of 13lbs. You say it is more about getting away from a carb heavy diet rather than the number so keep doing what have been. Where are you getting your carb measurements from and what type of carbs are you eating. There can be some surprises like apples coming in at 28g of carbs without realising. If there are adjustment to make you will work it out along the way. Keep asking questions if you have any worries.

Going to watch the final of Bake Off before someone on TV spoils it for me.

    Thanks Sunshine-girl.

I’m using the FatSecret app to log things, and yes I had an apple last week and was shocked! Today a portion of my carbs has been from a small slice of toast – one of those small white loaves that is 10.8 carbs for a slice. I appreciate as carbs go it’s not a good one.

Congratulations on your fabulous progress. So encouraging to hear! I will carry on!

Welcome CaseyJ12. It sounds as though you are doing all the right things. Do you know about Kefir which keeps your gut bacteria happy? Eating some pulses although they obviously include carbs can help a more fibrous diet plus kale & lots of other veg but avoiding potatoes but I do occasionally eat sweet potatoes which make a good substitute & wholewheat cous cous. However I am not diabetic just arthritic 🙂
Good luck for next week 🍀🍀

Hi everyone, good news today – my weight has dropped under 71kg to 70.85kgs. I am now exactly 2 stone lighter than when I first started 8 years ago (yes a long time but being on insulin makes it harder). Also, as I had gained weight over the past 8 years I keep having to set new goals. I have lost 4.5kgs since January 1st. On my 6 month challenge I have now lost (revert to pounds) 9lbs which is pretty much on target. And I am joining Verano on 1lb a week to Christmas and at the end of week 3 I have lost 3.5lbs. So yeah – all is going to plan. Now just need to get into that size 16 dress. Talking of which, going to look on the site I have saved it on to see if there is a discount for Black Friday.

Casey, just because something has carbs doesn’t mean it is bad for you. Apples are a good source of fible as are the sweet potatoes Verano talks about. Just to be aware and maybe only have now and then.

Going to check the Debs site.

Oh yes I did know about kefir but it had fallen off my radar! Will go and get some later. Thank you for that and the other info.

Brilliant to hear your good news Sunshine-girl!

Hi all, I have lost more weight. Wondering if it is partly due to reducing insulin as I have not been doing much exercise.

I said I would go alcohol free for November but as tomorrow is 1st thought I might have a vod and tonic tonight. Then I decided not to and hubby was annoyed because he wanted to open a bottle of red wine. I can’t win, either I drink and he rolls his eyes or I don’t and he says that deprives him. Anyway, I might just have one but not on the 1st as I have an early medical appointment on Monday. 9.30 at an opthamologist who specialises in test the others don’t do – so I am having my global field of vision tested.

I have ordered my dress due to the Black Friday price reduction. I have ordered 2 – a size 16 and a size 18. I shouldn’t worry about label sizing, as long as it fits well. I also might not like it when I see it on so will try both and then decide. Just means a lot of money has come out of my credit card – hey ho – its Christmas.

We are out tomorrow at the local village fete – still trying to keep up a reasonable social life. Have a good weekend.

S-g well done! Pleased to hear both your insulin and weight are going down. Hope you love the dress when it arrives.

Julia hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Welcome Casey you’ve found a good place!

Margaret you are keeping on the straight and narrow and ‘living’ at the same time. All sounds good to me!

So to me …. not my finest hour. Have no idea why. Just seem to be creeping up by a few ounces each day. So far this week I’m up a pound!

At least I’m finally getting to understand how s-g gets to 30 a week in a few days. Tonight I have a tray bake in the oven with tomatoes, onions, red pepper, green pepper, garlic, courgette, cauliflower, garlic, oregano, rosemary and thyme! I count that as 9! I’ve been counting my 30+ for 4 weeks now and I’m just about making the 30. I feel that my diet is varied enough so I’m stopping counting now. Think it’s time to concentrate on other things.

I think this week I need to pay more attention to portion size. Probably time to go back to weighting rather than guesstimating and logging then I won’t get a nasty surprise at the end of the week.

    Have a good weekend.

Pootle …. yes I know December starts tomorrow but didn’t even occur to me that we need an end of year thread!

Decisive is great. We definitely don’t want ‘destructive’!!! Can’t think of a better title than yours!
