S-g you really are ‘Moving’ forward in May! I guess it’s all a bit scary at the moment but I’m sure once you’ve taken the step and moved back you will feel more at ease. Anyway, best of luck with your house sale.

So we are almost at the end of May and apart from my time away May really hasn’t been ‘Marvellous’ for me. In saying that it’s my own doing. I really got back into my healthy diet when we first arrived home but the last 10 days or so have been ‘mehhh’. Anyway, another Tuesday, another week and another fresh start.

I have to be honest I’m finding it increasingly difficult to restart again and again after all these years. I know I have to control my carbs but losing weight feels very much like a losing battle. Maybe even a ‘lost’ cause!

Nonetheless, June is just around the corner so I suppose we will need a new thread with a new name……

Hi all. I really feel for you Verano. Since we got back from our holiday I have really been struggling. I am just so hungry. I think we are in the same boat (cruising) in that the weight is not the most important thing, it is keeping our BG down. I could do with losing 2 stone but not really that bothered. I stick with the diet because the 2 go hand in hand. If I start to slide from the low carb I will soon see it in my BG. Just keep on keeping on…

The house has gone on the market – officially tomorrow when the agent comes back with the typed up Mandate. It has gone on for €30k more than it was 4 years ago, so not bad but gives us wriggle room to reduce if we get reasonable offers. Saying that, and moaning about the diet, I am going to have a celebratory drink tonight – just a couple of v&ts. We have worked so hard over the past 2 weeks I think we deserve it.

Any suggestions for the June name – Jumping for Joy….

Good luck S-G with your house going on the market it can all be very stressful but remember also to take care of yourself with some relaxation built in.
Verano I’m also still struggling to lose some weight but I did talk myself into doing exercise to my Jane Fonda dvd using light weights & am averaging 5000 steps a day. I’m going on holiday next week to Hayling Island to a Warners Hotel with meals included. We can do short mat bowling there so will take our bowls & my husband & I are taking part in a short versus long mat competition on Saturday which will be a lot more exercise. Food wise I am trying different things to see how my body is reacting & made a chicken Indian meal last night that did include some potato & basmati rice that I enjoyed so it may be that I have been stuck in the same diet routine for two long & do need to shake it up a bit.
Oh well I will take my lap top away with me to keep in touch but I think my diet will be up in the air next week 🤔
    Good luck everyone 🍀🍀

    Hi
Can’t believe it’s almost the end of Marvellous May. Time really does seem to be flying.
S-G I wish you lots of luck for your move back to the UK. I think a move is very stressful but its also a chance for a fresh start… and I think once you know why you’re doing it, you’ll be fine!
I’ve dropped another couple of kilo so total weight loss is now 14kg!
Going to see my consultant on the 9th June so no doubt he’ll be very pleased with me.
But most of all i’m very pleased with myself.
My weight has gone from the 90’s to the 70’s which is tremendous progress for me.
And now we keep on keeping on 🙂

Best of luck for everyone and thanks for giving me a space to share!

    Hi all

Great news happysnap, I am sure your consultant will be pleased, but as you say, you are pleased and that does wonders for self-esteem and motivation.

Thanks for the good wishes Margaret. Enjoy your time away and don’t worry too much about food. I try to follow certain rules – veg before carbs, protien for breakfast (that easy in a hotel) and if you are going to have a dessert make sure you really want it and enjoy it – or just have a little taste to satisfy your curiosity.

Doing more work in the garden and we are both completely knackered. Had a couple of v&ts last night but didn’t really enjoy them but luckily they didnt impact on my weight. Maybe I would have lost a bit more without them but at least I didnt gain.

Really starting to look forward to our move back with certain reservations but we will get over them. Right now the pool is looking lovely and sparkling but I have no desire to get in – too old and cant be bothered. Looking forward to a heated pool in the gym.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Margaret, enjoy your trip. I think we may have been to that Warners in the past. Is that the one on the Solent?

Today is the first day for a while that I’ve actually managed to not ‘pick’ willy- nilly so hoping this is the start of better things to come!
