Can anyone help me please? I am on day 19 of the eight week programme, doing really well. My last weigh in on Tuesday I had lost 9lbs. I am feeling fabulous generally, I manage between 10,000 and 15,000 steps a day. My problem is first thing in the morning. I can hardly stand up and feel as if I am going to faint. I have been taking my blood pressure is usually really good, but first thing in the morning it has been very low 96/69. Does anyone have any tips for helping me with this please?

    Many thanks.

I have read people commenting about taking a late night snack allowance to avoid that blood sugar dip in the mornings

Also, Hillybob, are you having enough salt?

Because we’re drinking so much fluid, this flushes out the salt from the system and lack of sodium will certainly cause feelings of light-headedness.

It might be worthwhile doing the following

    a) adding more salt to your food
    b) drinking Miso soup or
    c) having a drink made of a stock cube in boiling water.

Dr MM mentions this in the BSD book, but it’s easily overlooked.

    Hope that helps 🙂
