I have been amazed at how easy this diet is, having broken the back of the carb cravings I am finding I can eat a good and varied diet sticking to 800 calories.

I have been on the programme since the 26th April and have lost 27lbs.

Is it safe to continue on the 800 diet for longer than the 8 weeks to keep the weight loss going?

Hi Stewart – I’ve just graduated to the 16 week vets group! Several people have asked about this and the consensus would appear to be yes………I’m 3 lbs away from my goal which I set back in January which I didn’t really think I had any chance of achieving but I’m so close now. Once there, I’ll set another goal, once there I’ll ease up and do the 5:2 to maintain my weight – at least that’s the plan but the important thing for me is to lose the weight at the moment.

I feel fitter and healthier than I have for many many years so why would I stop at the moment??

    Hi Tallyhoo

    Thank you for your reply.

I agree, even 4 weeks in, I feel so much better, I felt exhausted and run down and feel great now.

I just want to keep going, I am still a long way off my goal, but every day it gets closer.

    Hi Stewart

Tomorrow I’ll finish 22 weeks on the 800 calories.

To date I’ve lost 57 pounds and still need to lose another 28 or so pounds so will be on the 800 calories a while yet.

As Tallyhoo says, there are many of us staying on the 800 for much longer than the 8 weeks. We’re seeing so many benefits, some expected, others not.

    Hi Stewart
14 weeks for me with no problems.
In fact, if anything, it just gets easier.

Captainlynne a question – do we know how many people use the forum and by that I really mean how many are actually doing the BSD? Also how many have completed the 8 weeks and 16 weeks and will you be the very first to 23 weeks???

Would be curious to know the stats – did you hear Dr M on Chris Evans yesterday morning?

Hi Tallyhoo. Sorry, no idea how many use the forum. My guess would be that it would be difficult to work that out as some lurk without posting. The same probably applies to numbers of those completing weeks 8 and 16. Seems that some drop out of posting when they reach their goals.

Again I don’t know if I’ll be the first to reach 23 weeks. It feels like I’ve been around on here for ages! And guess what! I’ll be around on here for a long time yet😃 You don’t get rid of me that easily😃

Be interesting to know the stats, but probably too difficult to collate accurate figures. No, didn’t hear Dr M on Chris Evans. Don’t usually listen to the radio – I’m a TV girl!

The system will show the total amount of members but that’s only those who register.
On average 90% of forum readers never register or post.
There will surely be a huge amount of people following the plan who have never even heard of the forum and some of them will have been doing it a lot longer than us.

Soon to be 12 weeks for me! Will carry on as long as possible until I get to an ideal BMI. (Roughly a stone to go before I get to my maximum ideal weight).

Thank you for your comments guys.

This is certainly the easiest diet I have ever been on, if I get any sort of hunger, then I know some carb has slipped in to the diet.

So excited to be shedding weight, and I feel so full of energy…

I do miss red wine, but not enough to be tempted to have a glass.

I am now on 29lbs so should do 30lbs in the first 4 weeks.

I know it will slow, but I could not be happier….
