3 under 3? Sheeesh, bless her. Hard work! Definitely agree about being on this plan though. You’ve got to be so on the ball, hence why I’m so stressy about going away camping. I can’t just grab a packet of crisps, or a sausage roll or a chocolate bar on the hop like I used to. The longer we do it the more tricks we have up our sleeves though.
It is really interesting, I haven’t seen anyone come across as unhelpful or judgemental either. Even though, if you think long and hard about it, we’re quite a diverse bunch really. There’s those who are doing it for the reason it was devised – diabetes. There’s those who are doing it because of the very wonderful ‘side effect’ of the diet – weight loss. Some are doing it for both reasons. Some are doing it because they don’t want to become diabetic. Those who are losing weight are varying from needing to lose half their body weight – plus in some cases (mine lol) to wanting to lose that stone that they’ve never been able to shift. Some are just counting the calories and sticking to the allowed foods, others are doing that and counting the carbs. But nobody is needing to be ‘right’ because there is no right way to do it. All we can do is share what works for us, and hope that it helps and resonates with others. We’re all just taking each other at face value, and it’s lovely. The laughter is another, very welcome, side effect of the BSD. What’s said on this thread might not be everyone’s cup of tea, sometimes a bit risque, and there’s a fair few of us who are a fan of the double entendre… there are other threads. But how boring would this be without a bit of laughter and camaraderie? Eating 800 calories a day with no support? How many of us would have made it past the first fortnight?
I’ve got a Jawbone UP2, as has Janey, Eps, and Tokyo’s is on its way. They’re 30 quid – ish on Amazon at the moment compared to £90 in Argos. I think John Lewis and Currys/PC World were about £80 when I last look, and even back in December when I had mine for Christmas he paid £60 for it. It seems the software only works with i-things and very new Android devices. Mine’s on iPad and hubby’s is on iPod. I know they’re all good in their own way, but I can only speak about what I know, and it does enough for me. My friend’s measures her heartrate and all sorts of tat, I actively avoid anything that raises my heartrate so that renders that use null and void 😉 It tracks your weight, your sleep, tells you how much deep/light sleep you have, tracks your steps, you can input any exercise you do, if you forget it will ask you if you were active between x and y, it gives you hints, you can track your food on it, or link it to your MFP account, there’s probably more that it does but that is enough info for me for now 😉
You do indeed Yowzer! And that wasn’t even one of the funniest last night. I can’t wait to start watching them again. The ones with Rik Mayall were tear inducingly funny. Such a shame he passed.
