JAN,oh i love it…bunghole surgery is hilarious! Reminds me of my friend’s dear old Mum..we went for a coffee and she piped up,” i’ ll try one of those chipolata coffees please” ( lattes)! 😀😀😀😀

Honestly tho, some people would put years on a Ming vase! Lets just enjoy summer and the long evenings..we often have fabulous weather in September…when autumn finally arrives its beautiful and magical anyway..why not just enjoy each day as it comes! I guess there are gloom makers everywhere unfortunately..gotta feel sorry for them x

Yayyyyyyyyyyyy Tokyo! I bet you’re so looking forward to it!! When is the show? This year or next? The second ticket is for me, right? RIGHT??? 😉

People are just so infuriating aren’t they? He’ll probably hear about it again one day, maybe from a medical professional and feel foolish for ignoring you. What’s for tea, Tokyo?

I’ve just finished eating, left most of my salad and had a small piece of chicken left which hubby duly wolfed. I just can’t eat when I’m full now, I have to stop. Rugby on TV tonight so we will have some nuts to nibble on while that is on, if we feel like it. Weigh day tomorrow and I know it’s going to be a very small weight loss for this week, but a loss is a loss. Then it’s onto week 8! Doesn’t time fly? I am keeping on with the plan, because I still have so much weight to lose. I’m going to do another 8 week cycle minimum. The first week will be when I’m camping, and as it’s our ‘holiday’ for this year, I’m allowing myself one treat while we’re there. We’re going to go up to this little cafe high up in the back of beyond and they do soup and sandwiches and lovely homemade cakes and scones, I know the soup is GF and vegetable. So I may have soup and a sandwich. I figure one egg salad wholemeal butty isn’t going to be as damaging as fish and chips or a pizza or a kebab. Or a pie. The interesting thing is how I will cope without wine while I camp. Previously unheard of. Or whether I’ll crack and buy some while I’m there. I might buy a couple of those little bottles, the ones that have a glass worth in?

Greg Davies? He’s known for playing the Headmaster in The Inbetweeners, and now he does a show called Man Down, Rik Mayall played his father before he passed away. He looks a bit like Rik Mayall but very tall and quite dishy in a weird way. Really funny stand up too.

If you’ve only watched it for the first time the other night, I assume you mean Series 3. C4 have them on 4OD now, so if you’ve any means of watching the first two series, do try. Every series has been brilliantly funny, but also different. The Christmas special after Rik Mayall died and the auntie was introduced was an absolute belter too. I’m planning on binge watching the first two series again soon.

Shame on you… although, pizza is pizza. I might have done the same thing tbh. I love pizza.

Sounds like the people who blacklisted me from the MFP forum, our hair will fall out did you know, oh and at the end, we won’t have learnt anything so we will put it all back on, pfffffff I’ve come to realise there is only about 20% of people who are experimental enough to take calculated risks. That is it’s official name Jan lol. Food that you’re meant to burn 😉 It’s also good on pork steaks, but you do have to cook it in olive oil. I made the mistake once of putting them on a George Foreman Grill and they were shocking. The spices formed a dry crust lol. I suppose you could also mix the spices in olive oil and marinate the meat to the same effect. Just force of habit now. Just blast on high heat on both sides so you get the charred black lines on the meat, then in the oven for 20 ish minutes depending how thick they are. Careful on the cayenne though if you’re not a spice lover, the hotter the better in this house!

I was a shocking cook until about 2002 when we got our first computer. I’d just about got to the stage where I could cook a curry with a jar sauce. One day I thought ‘Sod it’. World’s largest recipe book at my fingertips. I was going to teach myself to cook. The first thing I made was Coronation Chicken and it was a huge success, so my confidence grew from there. At one point I was pretty bloody militant about it, if I could feasibly make it, I wouldn’t buy it. But I was making work for myself in the end with four children. I’m quite a good cook now, I must say.

3 under 3? Sheeesh, bless her. Hard work! Definitely agree about being on this plan though. You’ve got to be so on the ball, hence why I’m so stressy about going away camping. I can’t just grab a packet of crisps, or a sausage roll or a chocolate bar on the hop like I used to. The longer we do it the more tricks we have up our sleeves though.

It is really interesting, I haven’t seen anyone come across as unhelpful or judgemental either. Even though, if you think long and hard about it, we’re quite a diverse bunch really. There’s those who are doing it for the reason it was devised – diabetes. There’s those who are doing it because of the very wonderful ‘side effect’ of the diet – weight loss. Some are doing it for both reasons. Some are doing it because they don’t want to become diabetic. Those who are losing weight are varying from needing to lose half their body weight – plus in some cases (mine lol) to wanting to lose that stone that they’ve never been able to shift. Some are just counting the calories and sticking to the allowed foods, others are doing that and counting the carbs. But nobody is needing to be ‘right’ because there is no right way to do it. All we can do is share what works for us, and hope that it helps and resonates with others. We’re all just taking each other at face value, and it’s lovely. The laughter is another, very welcome, side effect of the BSD. What’s said on this thread might not be everyone’s cup of tea, sometimes a bit risque, and there’s a fair few of us who are a fan of the double entendre… there are other threads. But how boring would this be without a bit of laughter and camaraderie? Eating 800 calories a day with no support? How many of us would have made it past the first fortnight?

I’ve got a Jawbone UP2, as has Janey, Eps, and Tokyo’s is on its way. They’re 30 quid – ish on Amazon at the moment compared to £90 in Argos. I think John Lewis and Currys/PC World were about £80 when I last look, and even back in December when I had mine for Christmas he paid £60 for it. It seems the software only works with i-things and very new Android devices. Mine’s on iPad and hubby’s is on iPod. I know they’re all good in their own way, but I can only speak about what I know, and it does enough for me. My friend’s measures her heartrate and all sorts of tat, I actively avoid anything that raises my heartrate so that renders that use null and void 😉 It tracks your weight, your sleep, tells you how much deep/light sleep you have, tracks your steps, you can input any exercise you do, if you forget it will ask you if you were active between x and y, it gives you hints, you can track your food on it, or link it to your MFP account, there’s probably more that it does but that is enough info for me for now 😉

You do indeed Yowzer! And that wasn’t even one of the funniest last night. I can’t wait to start watching them again. The ones with Rik Mayall were tear inducingly funny. Such a shame he passed.

I haven’t seen him live but I’ve seen the DVD’s. Did find Firing Cheeseballs a bit funnier than Back of My Mum’s head.

Karen yes, that’s who he based the Karen in Man Down on, isn’t it? The banter between those two is fab. The bit in back of my mum’s head at the end when he said about the foofoo after giving birth ‘Looks like someone’s taken an axe to it’ was it? Or something like that, I couldn’t breathe for laughing.

Yeah tomorrow, won’t be too exciting, it’s going to be something between half a pound and two pounds for the week if I’m lucky, but that’s ok and if around the two pound mark, that’s acceptable anyway. Just after pulling in a 5 pounder last week I’ve been spoiled 🙂 I’m lacking in Cinderella at the moment, I’ve got a load of things way too small that I’m going to lose a fair bit more to get in. I do have things that fit me anyway (stretchy things) but like a glove (sticking out in five places) so maybe it’s a case of trying those on to see if they look better on me?

Morning boys and girls, I’m back on the BSD wagon after a few weeks off ( planned though) as it was my 50th birthday on 29th June with several parties and celebratory meals followed by a camping holiday in France. I basically stuck to the low carb med style principles outside of bread, birthday cake and alcohol, and am pleased to report that although some weight did initially creep back on I am now lighter than I was at the end of June. In fact I cannot now remember just when I was lighter than I am now. Probably well over a decade ago. I have now lost 4 1/2 stone from my heaviest and am eyeing up the jeans of the future (currently a pair of size 16’s) speculatively. Only overweight status is suddenly almost within touching distance at less than a stone away and my number of steps a day is creeping up slowly. On a mini plateau this week and July is my lowest loss so far at only a pound after the brief holiday from counting calories, but at least it is still the right direction. This thread has really taken off and has me in stitches regularly, so many thanks to all of you, I am sure just the laughter helps me lose weight.

    Onwards and downwards
