I am thinking of jumping on the proverbial bandwagon and getting one of those fitness wristbands jobbies. I KNOW I don’t walk anywhere enough so it might nag me into action. Although, do I want another electronic gadget ruling my life???!! (Actually that could be misinterpreted.. oops!)

I’m here! And guess what, I’m on another DOWNER! Don’t ask me why, I don’t know what the hell is going on with me, nobody has rattled my cage or anything (for a wonder!). Just utterly, utterly fed up at the moment. I could just pack an overnight bag and bugger off for a week on my own somewhere quiet with no TV, no internet, a box of wine and a journal. I wake up fine, bouncy if the scales allow, and the more the day goes on, the more meh I’m feeling. Didn’t help that I had to buy a massive triple layer chocolate cake for youngest son who turns 10 on Thursday. It’s on my dining table taunting me.
Decided to leave the camping until next week. Go on Tuesday or something rather than this Friday. Might be a bit quieter then too. Picked up a few bits to take. But I’m just not feeling it this year. I’d normally have the living room full of camping stuff by now, ready to bounce.

OH Lucky, don’t be down. I think you have the blanket of mardiness wrapped too tight around you 🙁 If I had any Nigella cake left I would UPS you a piece, quick smart. Also if I was closer I would come round and give you a BSD hug, or slap your legs and tell you to cheer up!
I agree with eating the sister in law actually. She will almost certainly be under 800 cals and definitely low carb..
Being 40 can seem to be kind of rubbish, but remember you are now 40 and 32lbs lighter than in May. I was on a real downer when I was 41ish, but I’ve got through it, and life now is the best its been! And I have you nut jobs to entertain me as I lose weight as well 😀
Perhaps make a big banner I have lost 32 lbs so bril just be patient a low mood always gets worse if we allow our mind to relate to it, one trick that helps me is to release endorphins to help you feel better is to put a pen or pencil sideways in your mouth so it is sticking out either end of your mouth so simulating your lips into a smile, this opens up pathways for endorphins to flow.
It also stops me eating. Try it and let us know 😃😃😃🖍🖍🖍

But you sound bored – I think you need some newness. What can you do – grab someone to go to a new class or a new something or oooooooooo my goodnesss could you get a dog?????? Not that I’m advocating people to just run out and get dogs to cheer them up without thinking about it but imagine how amazing it would be to have a gorgeous rescue dog to bring on walks!!! You’d have some time to yourself because you would be doing a job (bringing dog out for a walk) and you could make sure it was YOUR dog – not the kids, not your husbands, but YOURS. And you would be his favourite.

i am to embark on the Olive Oil cake later, by the time i have spiralized a courgette and got all the equipment out i have nearly lost the will to live. My daughter and husband and children are visiting so will probably make proper brownies. Fortunately they have always been to sweet for me so i don’t eat them.

Josie, use the Nigella cake recipe and substitute sugar for coconut sugar. Then tray bake it for brownies. This recipe is PERFECT for that, it’s really fudgy and squidgy. No one will know it’s a healthy option, believe me! 👍🏼

Janey/Runforfun/Everyone – OPPO is *jazz hands* AMAZING! Oh. My. God. We bought ours from Co-op – Waitrose didn’t stock it? Now the magnitude of this is that our local Co-op is notoriously crap. Walk in to a big fanfare of a £5 meal deal… only 3 of the products available. We didn’t hold our breath on the half an aisle freezer section but – in all fairness – there it was. Salted Caramel and Mint. Bought 2 SC as I’m not a huge mint lice cream lover. We’ve had a little tip of a spoonful as we were stuffed after our tea, we’re going to have some later. Although to be fair, you could actually incorporate the whole tub into your daily calories. Daily. This is going to be massive for BSD’ers and the broken hearted. Step away from the Ben and Jerry’s.

Eps – is it just me and a coincidence, or has your deep sleep gone up since you first had it? When I first checked my sleep for the first couple of months, it was bonkers, as is my hubby (had his for 2 or 3 days now). Now, I have a pretty even(ish) deep/light ratio. If I sleep 7 hours it will be 3 deep 4 light etc, but back in January it was 1 deep 6 light or something mad like that?

Oh wow. I have to share with you this gem of wisdom from my husband’s Jawbone app today. And I quote.
‘Chopsticks have been shown to slow eating speed (no sh*t, Sherlock!), leading to less chance of overeating.’
Well. That’s CLEARLY where we’ve all been going wrong!
The only time I have EVER been able to use chopsticks is when, in frustration, I have speared something large enough with one. Oh, there was this one time. I made what my husband calls ‘A Wigan Kebab’. It was a mini pastie, a pork pie, a cocktail sausage roll, and another mini pie threaded onto a chopstick.
